The best part is, none of them even question him, they just dive in there and open up with him. No 2nd guessing, "are you sure you saw something" nah multiple mag dumps and grenades for their bro. That's a tight squad.

One of the greatest scenes of all time.

What's incredible is that after conversations, just how many people this sent into post-Vietnam flashbacks. The way he scream 'contact' sent a ton of guys into ptsd mode. My dad said he knew guys (big, tough dudes) under theater seating when watching it upon release.

This wasn't even at a quarter speed of it's max rate. I think they had to knock it down to 5-10% so a person could hold it even just firing blanks. Look up videos of them firing at full speed to see what a I mean. Just a nasty brrrrrrrrrr sound. Love it!

The gun was actually firing blanks, they used standard detonation cord wrapped around trees and other objects to give the illusion of it being mowed down by the minigun.
I've never seen that much tetosteron in a movie clip. This is all you need! The rest just joins in to shoot all the ammo out of the mags. The most beautiful waste of ammo i have ever seen

This is a fucking amazing scene of uncut adrenaline and just pure, passionate rage. 1987 was a great year for kickass movies (this, Robocop, Lethal Weapon, and Full Metal Jacket being prime examples).

I like this version better. No sound when the plasma caster goes off. Suits the jungle hunter way more also, its a brutal dead that suddenly (for him) his chest burst open. Its also filmed very nicely with the rotation. Great stuff.👌

So nice of the Predator to film this and upload it to UA-cam so the "Super Predators" learn to shoot the mini-gun rather than the guy holding it. Leads to less environmental destruction in the long run and they REALLY dont like it when you destroy their hunting grounds.

I believe a lot of them were setup to fire 1500 rounds per minute but capable of more. The ammo plus the battery you would have to carry to power the rotary motor make this scene impossible. It sure is great scene though.

Then how Dutch gets the Predator to do the same when he nails him with that bow and arrow grenade round towards the end of the film. Predator couldn't track him with all that mud cover and starts shooting his shoulder arm in all directions.

As a kid, the thing that always came to mind was, "I mean, that had to scare the Predator, at least a bit." They threw down enough firepower right there to destroy an entire Company of Troops.
I really, really love this era in film history. Guns were depicted as so powerful, so loud and dangerous in this era of film. As they should be. Films today make guns look harmless.

My uncle practiced with one on the door of a Huey during Vietnam in the late 60's when this style first come out. The instructor said with its fire rate it would put a bullet in every square inch of a football field in one minute. Don't know if that true but it had the Army sold on it.

Love the moment at the end where Mac stays on the trigger even though he’s out of ammo, because he’s the only one who saw what happened and what they’re dealing with.

SGT this is Mack, My brother loved this movie, he was just killed in action. He left me a Surplus of artillery for me if anything ever happened to him..In fact he called me Mack, all I could think of was Its payback time. Thank God his commando unit already payed them back..NO ONE GOT AWAY SGT

What an absolutely unreal scene 👏 I popped on some killer headphones and cranked it up so awesome even if all blanks and a movie super cool to see the weapons unload a few rounds

There is nothing more depressing than being a gun enthusiast and watching action movies. This movie will always be super badass but my god why can’t the directors take 5 minutes to learn how guns work? 😂
