Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

I think many Christians get confused sometimes with this as well.. We walk by faith and cannot PROVE anything. We are called to preach the gospel and witness. I'm glad Cliffe can maintain his patience.

And if everything is based on faith and not evidence(ik you’d consider the Bible as evidence, I’m going off of what you said that you cannot prove anything to people outside the faith), which I have no problem with, would you then admit there is a possibility that you might be wrong in your interpretation about some things, even small, insignificant things? How would you reconcile that?

@@stephenscaggs3747 I did not say or imply he lost his temper, but he was certainly getting angry and flustered, ket on repeating his own words his own position when he was trapped in his own argument. Sprouting claims as facts as if they were evidence in themselves.
@@criticalthinker8007 I guess I saw two different sets of clips. I think he reacted the same way any sane human being responds. I saw, in this video, one woman being very hostile toward Cliffe. She wasn't asking Cliffe a question, she was being accusatory and defamatory without reason. The man after her kept insisting that Cliffe couldn't "prove" God, therefore God didn't exist. What Cliffe was arguing in response is that "proof" is a field of epistemology (he never says that word), and is not the most accurate word we should use when talking about matters of belief. If we use the word "proof," we're already on the wrong feet when we get to talk about evidences: "probable," "possible," and "plausible." When Christians and atheists argue philosophically over the debate, we're arguing over plausibility, since proof means "it means this, and it cannot mean any other thing." I've never met an atheist who could *prove* to me there was no God, because to *prove* means they have excluded all other options, i.e. it cannot be in any other way.
I have heard arguments for atheism that are possible and probable, but in terms of plausibility, I find the existence of an intelligent mind far more plausible than the idea that order and design came from chaos.
As soon as the lady said "SCIENTIFICALLY," I left the building...😂
One of things I've learned from watching these videos is that so many people conflate proof and evidence...
When she said, Our Campus.. She lost the argument. As its not Her Campus. She had nothing to do with it being established. She simply works there. Yet it's Hers...So it's a Bigots Argument. She simply does not like Cliff being there. As he is a threat to her World View..
The “science woman” also probably exited rather quickly once she realized how weak of an argument she was putting forth

@Max012 I like the fact that the students have different questions and actually explore why Cliffe believes what he believes. I am a follower of Christ and sometimes the students ask questions I didn't think of or wanted an answer for it and then Cliffe does an amazing job of giving the answer.
@@Max012As a former atheist who met Jesus 😭 😭 I appreciate how Cliffe uses reason and logic (even tho he is a pastor) rather than saying, "it's spiritual, just believe" -- a lot of people are approaching this topic mentally, and spiritual perspectives don't click as much. He uses intellectual and respective conversation to get people thinking (students) for themselves! Love it!!
This episode was INTENSE. The hippie dude and the redhead lady were heckling Cliffe hard and it was super awesome to see Cliffe hold it down so well!

@@NinPossible Thats the point, if Cliff ever got angry they would just dismiss what he says. They want you to get mad, that way they can dismiss what you are saying as the ramblings of some angry guy thats no better than them.
At the end of the day, all of these people are hurting. When people hurt for long enough, they figure the best way to stop hurting is to lash out. You cannot get mad back, because they just reinforces the cycle of hurting them. I have so much respect for Cliff for not getting mad at that hippie guy who was INCREDIBLY rude and condescending.

Cliffe speaks in such coherent sentences, he has all his words put together and knows exactly what he wants to say while still maintaining his politeness. It amazes me how he is able to speak this way and keep his composure when people are looking for nothing but an argument and don't admit they are wrong. I love it whenever Cliffe brings up the "order and design" argument and illustrates it with a very clear example. In this video, he used a few: Mount Rushmore, the wristwatch, the pennies, the central nervous system, the eyes. Everybody suddenly goes real quiet because there's no denying the truth.
any optician will tell you the eye was not "intelligently designed", it has several flaws, and we also know that many animals eyes are far more superior to our limited vision.
@@bonnie43uk The reason there are opticians in the first place is because the eye is such a complex organ, some people dedicate their lives and careers to work in that field. Yes, there are definitely deficiencies and anomalies that can happen but it doesn't take away the complexity of they eyes' mechanism and structure.
As to "superior vision", some people are born blind and I would argue that I have a far superior vision than theirs. This argument, like yours, has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.
@@onesimonly7423 I'm certainly not denying the eye is a complex organ, it most definitely is, but if it's supposed to be "intelligently designed" by some superior being, that superior being made some major flaws. Again, ask an optician. Or simply type into a search engine "flaws of the human eye". At no point did I say those flaws take away the complexity of the eye. It's amazingly complex .. and flawed, like many other parts of the human body.

This is interesting. She says people wrote about Jesus without knowing him. When confronted with the 5+ people who walked with and learned directly from Jesus, she scoffs and writes it off.
What is the actual root of her questions? She asks for info, but ignores and rejects it the moment it is offered. Points to there being something deeper than her surface questions.

One thing I can notice is everyone (almost) that gets into a conversation with his gets defensive and angry and demands proof. While cliff continues to be calm rational and very eager and willing to explain things. I think these people just don’t want to accept it.
