    • @freightshayker
      @freightshayker 4 роки тому +2

      @Giovanni Gomez
      Paul says we should walk in good works. Paul says we are nearer our salvation than we we first believed.
      James says faith without works is dead.
      Lord Jesus says if you don't believe in His words then believe in His works. Lord Jesus says He will reward every man according to his works. Lord Jesus says if we don't produce good works then we will be broken off and cast into the fire. Lord Jesus says if we backslide into sin and lukewarm-ness, He will spew luke warmers out of His mouth.
      The entire Holy Bible is full of people going out and performing miracles, and water-baptisms, and performing good works in the name of God ... according to their faith.
      To believe "that" something is true is mental ascription, as in credence.
      To believe "in" something is to show one's faith, trust, hope, and obedience by giving money, time and effort.
      Then believe means to go on believing. You don't come to believe in Lord Jesus is God and stop. No. You go on believing Lord Jesus is God.
      You believe/endure to the end of your earthly life. Today is the day of salvation, not yesterday. And since we are not promised tomorrow, today is the day of salvation.
      You have been indoctrinated since birth with false doctrine: trinity, titles baptism, salvation through faith alone, and once-saved-always-saved, etc.
      Why would Paul rebaptized those twelve in Ephesus in the name of Lord Jesus ? ... why wouldn't Paul just lay hands on them so they would receive the Holy Spirit ?

      @@freightshayker I got saved 3 years ago, and it's been a journey I tell ya.
      Yeah I agree with you faith without works is dead in the sense that its talking about a faith that produces work because they have the holy spirit inside them and they are true believers. A real faith will produce works that's faith that is genuine.
      But it almost seems that you're implying a works based salvation which is false. Because if salvation was based on our works that would contradict (Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 2:8-9). I also do believe that once you are saved by faith and have been baptized by the Holy Spirit, you cannot lose salvation. And I'm not promoting that you can go on sinning without remorse and still be saved, because that is the heart of a person who is an unbeliever. A true believer will never lose salvation because they have the Holy Spirit that will complete the work He started.(Phillipians 1:6)

      Correct and it's therefore an unscientific belief as it is not observable or replicable.
      Myself I wouldn't call someone naive for believing it as it is what we are all initially taught ("lightening struck a puddle and randomly turned mud into life"), but the aggressive faith in it is very disproportionate to the evidence.

    • @ILootStandingStill

      @@junkiedropouts3186Abiogenesis is the current leading hypothesis for how life could have originated, but it’s not replicable at the moment because we currently have no way of knowing or replicating the exact conditions that the earth/universe was in at the time.
      Calling it unscientific is demonstrably false, as the hypothesis is purely based on the current scientific consensus.
      Luckily, us not currently understanding something doesn’t mean “god did it” is the answer, that’s simply just the god of the gaps fallacy and an argument from incredulity.
      Hundreds of years ago humans didn’t understand what gravity was or how it worked so they attributed it to supernatural forces, now we understand how it works and that there’s no supernatural cause, it’s 100% natural. Same thing goes for floods, lightning, thunder, rain, fires and hundreds of other natural things that were once attributed to a god or some kind of supernatural force. Given enough time, science can and has came up with testable/observable/verifiable explanations, abiogenesis is no different.

      Well, what is any measurable faith? It's the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen.
      Science is often approached with things not seen but they still search things out. So does a believer in their faith towards a Creator of things seen and unseen. He is the author of faith.

      Also. You can’t make something out of nothing, that is science. Yet the universe has a beginning ‘the big bang’. How did the first thing ever get made? What was it made out of? The Big Bang started with an area smaller than a head of a pin, so it literally came out of nowhere, and now look at all the planets and stars in the universe, that’s absolutely incredible.

She referred several times to God and asking God for forgiveness, while accusing Cliff of being accusatory and haughty toward her, which was simply untrue. I didn't think she was talking to hear herself talk. I thought she was running a mind movie of accusation and belittlement from her past and wildly projecting that onto Cliff. I think the anger and frustration she displayed as she left the gathering attested to something of that sort. She was clearly not hearing his answer each time she asked the question. I thought she was desperately seeking absolution for leaving Jesus out of her construct without having to say His name.

Apostle Paul says, to live is for Christ but to die is gain. in the world we live in today, it is seen as to live is gain and to die is loss. The bible tells us in the book of ecclesiastes that when a baby is born we rejoice and we sorrow when someone dies, but we have it mixed up. be sad when someone is born into this evil world, and rejoice when someone (a believer) leaves the world; for they will be with the Lord. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Jesus tells the theif on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise. • @kathycuddles1
      @kathycuddles1 7 років тому +3

      ShellacScrubber faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If we hope in something we see, then it is really not hope at all. The bible says, blessed are those who have seen me and believed, but more blessed are those who have not seen me, yet has believed. Thomas (as some call him the doubter) would not believe in the ressurected Christ, until he could touch the piercings in Jesus hands. Thomas represented the unbelieving world. He needed proof, when proof was all around him. I cannot prove to you that God exists, I can tell you he has shown himself in my life because I accepted him into my heart. But you may say that same thing can happen with a leperchaun, as you make a mockery of it. If you really want to know if God exist, pray with a sincere heart and not a doubting one, and ask him to reveal himself. Sadly it is believed as thomas, if we can't see or touch it, we won't believe it.

      From a Christian perspective, unbelievers all fill the air with useless words when they try to justify their perspective or attack Christ. I considered myself an atheist for 17 years and did just that when defending my position (usually in my own head). It is crystal clear now how wrong I was and full of pride I was. It is certainly an issue I haven't conquered, but I do find myself recognizing more when I am prideful. Cheers.

    Our great strength comes from not ourselves but from GOD. From knowing that GOD is our GOD, our friend. It is HE who watches over us. GOD is aware of us. The effects of aloneness are greatly diminished if we enter into this realisation. And whilst we don't see GOD, neither do we see HIS mighty Holy angels,sent by GOD to minister unto us. ( Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them who fear HIM, and delivereth them. ) And their ministration results in the lifting of our minds, bracing us to face the day, So we can also say like David said, Psalm 18:1 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my GOD, my strength, in whom I will trust, my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." Our life is one of duty. Duty to GOD. And duty to those whom GOD has put into our sphere of influence. And if we do our duty we will be content knowing we have given our all.

    Another reason why Jesus is the most creditable above all other "gods" is because there is true power in the name Jesus. My friend used to get what science calls "sleep paralysis" but really they are demonic attacks to the point that he was scared to go to sleep.. He would always have this dark shadow and presence sitting on his chest or it he could feel it behind him and it would laugh at him and he can never wake up. He says it's the scariest thing that has ever happened to him in his life... and I told him the next time it happens to call out the name JESUS CHRIST.. I told him it may be very very difficult almost impossible to say the name Jesus Christ but to push through it and keep trying to say it until you are screaming the name jesus in your mind.. And just keep saying "Jesus Jesus Jesus help me, save me Jesus I believe Jesus" and I told him don't stop saying it until you wake up and he did and he was so very suprised that it actually worked... He hasn't had any episodes since then. I told him to pray to Jeaus every night before he goes to sleep and he does and it works... Call out the name Mohammed or Allah or budda or any of the other "gods" of other religions and I guarantee it won't work... Either way there is power in the name Jesus. Power to drive out demons.. Even the demons believe in Jesus and they tremble. There is power in the name Jesus.. No other name has the power that the name above all names Jesus holds...

      I'm glad you brought this example up. I too from time to time suffer from sleep paralysis. When I was a former devout Catholic I was deathly afraid of going to sleep. I truly believed a dark spirit or demon used to visit me at night. Later on in life, after shedding the shroud of religion and joining the modern world, I learned of sleep paralysis. Now, whenever I am suffering from an episode of sleep paralysis, instead of freaking out, I calm down, remind myself what's actually happening, and I am able to breath and wake up. Sleep paralysis is a really scary experience. You can't breathe and you can't move. It's easy to see how a religious or superstitious person can believe a demonic force is nearby, however there is an actual rational explanation for the phenomena.

      @@m.c.lippsss Occam's razor, when applied to sleep paralysis, yields different conclusions depending on the worldview of the person applying Occam's razor to it.
      What is the evidence in reference to sleep paralysis that supports that the more reasonable explanation is absent demons?
      If you refer to scientifically observable changes in something like neurochemistry, for example, then be careful that you're not conflating correlation with causation. If it's nothing to do with demons, then a change in neurochemistry would make sense. However, if it is to do with demons, then a change in neurochemistry would still make sense. A change in neurochemistry could be the catalyst, but a change in neurochemistry could also be the physiological reaction to the introduction of demonic activity.
      Whether it seems more reasonable to conclude that the change in neurochemistry is the cause, or if it seems more reasonable to conclude that the change in neurochemistry is a byproduct of some other more primary cause, depends on one's worldview. Just please don't presume that your worldview is inherently more accurate than the worldview of someone who you don't quite understand how they arrived at their worldview that contradicts yours.

      In any event, for those suffering from sleep paralysis /apnea, try not to "fight" through it. Don't force yourself to wake up. Calm yourself and focus on short breaths. If you need to draw on a higher being for support and strength, by all means, go for it.

    Living the best life possible and asking forgiveness is only part of the picture. You must repent of your evil sin. repent of your criminal mind and choices against God. You must be willing to let the gospel kill those things that God hates. God hates bad moral choices. This is where holiness comes in. God forgives us on the basis of His love for us. We must acknowledge that we choose the wrong things. That is where knowing the Word of God comes in. Read His Word allow it to transform us. Then we can be changed. God can and will heal us from evil thoughts, words and deeds. In our journey to holiness we must battle those things which cause us to sin against a holy God. And Jesus gives us the tools to avoid these things and in these things were are changed. Living the best life we can and asking for forgiveness is a misconception. You have to realize that the criminal mind must be overcome by good. The goodness of Gods Word has the power to change us from evil to holy.

    With the green lady (52:00)when she is asking why Cliff has his sins forgiven and not hers it’s because she’s self righteousnesses and didn’t come to the cross for saving.

    • @ramblincapuchin9075
      @ramblincapuchin9075 7 місяців тому +1

      This
      Only she wanted to hear him tell her that he thinks she is better than her
      Which is all the more reason to address her cause. For whatever reason she felt called out by his presence, so much so that she felt compelled to drive home that she feels lesser
      It's a rebellious drive, this is the kind of character that wants life to be padded out so that the red carpet of denial is unfolded before her. The store is there for her to shop, the freeway is there for her to drive down, but anyone who merits some kind of foreign force or authority poses a threat to her and her capacity to live without an accountable thought
      The burden of reproof wells up in an instant and it's too much to handle. In fact it's because the subjectivity of goodness is so great that we need a savior. Unfortunately most women lose touch with the function of the gospel as a narrative lead. No one is an island, but the island that Adam sinned on is cursed so that generations of humans living this way or that are wrapped up in it
      Circumstances that are WAY more treacherous than whether or not she feels like people know that there's good about her. Ever been straight murdered by your brother? And his blood cried for vengeance in the end, despite having an acceptable go at his humanity. So that goes to show how we all have crushable merit, no matter whether we receive favor from God
      She doesn't want to accept that Jesus was granted the authority to crush the crusher and that according to the heavenly standard, you can only get there by fulfilling the law. It's the difference between children and sons. Jesus was the only begotten son, a covenant between God and the seed of the woman. Everything else was created and marked for liquidation

    • @RepentOrPerishL133
      @RepentOrPerishL133 6 місяців тому

      @ylpx I was looking for this comment. I was so frustrated for her. Sometimes he can be so philosophical that he fails to explain the mechanics of forgiveness and salvation. He didn't explain the purpose and work that Jesus accomplished on the cross. God-Christ was literally doing something through the cross and he NEVER explains it.
      Her: Why does God Choose your request for forgiveness over mine.
      Him: Because He has offered that forgiveness through His death on the Cross.
      What does that Mean. Whyyyyy!
      There is a reason. Explain it!
      If I had hair I would have been pulling it out. God instituted
      a process-a means by which sin is forgiven, death. Substituting the an innocent life for the guilty.
      She was asking for forgiveness on her on own Merit, her own terms rather than the terms given. Sin is never just forgiven, dismissed without atonement payment. Cliff wasn't explaining that He was trusting in the sinless (righteous) life and death of Christ as His payment (atonement) and she was trusting in herself (sinful not righteous) life. Infact she just wanted her case dismissed because she said, sorry.

    I get to thinking about the fullness of what he was talking about. It is not my job to judge & throw stones at people that are sinners like I am. So many people do that without thinking. The other side is those that are comfortable in their sin. That is also bad.
    An example: I would not want to harm someone for being homosexual, but I could not tell them it was not a sin either. I want sinners to repent, not come to harm. Pray for those that persecute you.
    That also goes to his point about God. God is omnipotent. God's decision to deny Himself the use of part of His power is an exercise of will, Not a limitation. He still could, but God wills otherwise, so He does not. I do not feel that was clear there & I can see how people would confuse the two.

    "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." ~Romans 10:9
    "Living a good life" does not make you worthy of forgiveness. That's "good" by YOUR standard. God says ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death. ONLY Jesus lived a sinless life and died to pay the penalty for our sin. Only by believing in him will God see you as worthy.

    Those who do not accept Christ will be judged according to the law, meaning your goods must outweigh your wrongs….. We as humans are not perfect so we need Jesus Christ and accept him as our deliverer of our sin, accept him taking my place on the cross for me.… thr for I and everyone else rather accept Christ, to you all who don't, good luck

    The real problem that leads these kids to creating smoke screens is their sin and love of their sin. We suppress the truth in our unrighteousness. These people need some good old fashioned presuppositional apologetics. I like how Cliffe does that occasionally. These kids are standing on a morality borrowed from the Christian worldview and they don’t realize it. I love how Cliffe exposes their bankrupt worldview for dismissing God but keeping his morals.

    I pray that God grant the words, wisdom, conviction, and love required to instill the love of Jesus into the hearts of these troubled spirits.
    When I hear a statement like "now you might NOT commit suicide, and thats FINE." I think to myself, had he approached him and said, "now, you might not commit suicide, and I pray, with every ounce of my being that you do not", I feel as though that message would have been recieved.
    Regardless, I truly pray for the words of Christ to flow effortlessly into the voice of his followers.
