Wish I had this video earlier. Thank you so much..you have a talent for logically explaining things... Please do more videos.

    I never heard of OpenToonz. So I check the tutorials available to see what it can do.
    I seen a tutorial on how to make puppet animation, it has image warping ability. Ease of use and logical user interface seems to be it's strong suit.

    Opentoonz is amazing, there are some major problems with it though. One is: crashing when rendering if you use the Plastic Tool.

      I had big problems with crashing until I got a little more ram and changed one setting 😊 the FFmpeg timeout. I tippled it and the last video I did took an hour to render and didn't crash at all 😁

  • @johnesco
    @johnesco 4 роки тому

    I learned traditional animation on paper. There where times you labeled a piece of paper that you exposed multiple times to the camera. Here in OT, it seems that you can have a picture exposed to many different frames and edit it in one place. I would imagine this is confusing if you don't come from a habit of doing "proofs" on camera of your drawings. I'm really torn between a software that's more simple and one that has these types of features. Thanks for demonstrating all of this.

    2 days and I'm still thinking how to do that!!

    • @AnimatorIsland
      @AnimatorIsland  5 років тому +2

      You mean a text that writes itself? I am afraid there is no super easy way to do this. A common trick is to write the complete text then duplicate that frame, erase a little bit, duplicate that, erase a little bit etc. If you play this backwards it looks like the text is writing itself. A more fancy version could be with a mask. In both cases it's a very hands-on process not suitable for long texts. Recording a live action video or stop motion of you writing might actually be a lot easier to do.
