PLEASE consider posting videos of newer cultivars in a separate video as a “future trends” in landscape and horticulture! I would love to hear someone talk about plants the same way interior designers talk about their opinions on trends. It would be a fun hunt and great getting a head start on plants that could be popular in the future. You have a lot of experience and I trust your foresight and knowledge 👍🏽 there aren’t any videos like that right now and you have the connections and are a wonderful creator
Love all those plants 🪴. Thank you, Jim Putnam and Stephany. For traveling to bring those beautiful plants 🪴 in our home so we could see , so many beautiful plants, woo!!
Amen to that! I’m in zone 10a and Jim is one of the few who doesn’t disappoint for me! Still trying to get over Ian but I’m definitely adding to my collection.
I own quite a few of these plants here in zone 7 and just want to say that no plant has brought me more joy for less fuss than that ‘Golden Oakland’ Holly.
It was wonderful to see all the blooming plants we here in zone 6b just had a killing freeze ( super early ) so all the flowers are gone for the season
Jim & Steph, so glad to see this video! We just moved to Foley, AL from Terrytown, LA. I just mentioned to a friend that I wanted to see what was blooming or fall/winter foliage color. Perfect video to satisfy my curiosity. Can’t wait for number 2.
These nursery videos really get me salivating for new plants to add to my garden. Thanks for zooming in on the plant tags; I take screen shots so I don’t have to add info to each one before adding the photo to my Wish List album. 💚
Great shrub coverage. Just in time for finishing my new garden bed. Wish I could be shopping there but I'm in the Pacific Northwest coast of Washington zone 9A.
I hope they start growing that platinum beauty lomandra soon! I've been on plants by mails waiting list forever. Can't find it anywhere. I'm in the Greenville SC area if you have any friends I could visit
Jim I would love to see a video on pruning conifers. It scares me. I have two cryptomerias that need a haircut desperately but I'm afraid I'll screw it up. Cheers from Charlotte
I think because you live in town it’s naturally warmer than people living in the same zone but out in the open. The winter sun heats up buildings and pavement and those things radiate the warmth the sun in winter brings. I could be very wrong, but it seems whenever I go into town it’s always warmer there. And I think that’s why you are able to get away with planting something thats only hardy to a zone 8, plus the protection from the winter winds. Just my opinion.🍁🍂🍁💚🙃
I enjoy my fire chiefs, 9 of them, but I commonly get asked in fall/winter If they are dying due to the pronounced red/brown top color 👎🏼 It makes me rethink the space they take in my beds.
Is the southern living collection a big nursery for the south ? We have a lot of proven winners which is based in Michigan but I don’t see any of your SLC brand in zone 5b Cleveland Ohio. Are the plants based on more warmer climate type environments or higher zones ?
Thanks for watching. I will get the second part up soon. It has things that I have never shown on the channel.
Would love to hear abt some of the unreleased plants to ‘save a hole’ for them and be on the lookout for them over the next few years of development.
Thanks Jim for the comprehensive review. It is so appreciated to be able to view so many plants that can survive in zone 9b.

FINALLY!! Plants for zone 10! I'm so excited for that pink plectranthus. Great video. Can't wait for part 2.

It is a good plant. I had a friend in the nursery business tell me that they have sold slow for them. I hope folks will start buying them

Excellent video. Thanks Jim for all the information.

Thank you Jim, I really, really wish I could grow some of those shrubs and plants😢 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃
Snow here 2 nights ago in Indianapolis. That hurricane is spinning Newfoundland down here.
Greatly appreciate your insight. I have so many things on my landscaping wishlist, but a retaining wall must come first.
Very nice plant tour! Thanks🌿
Thanks for watching!

Very helpful videos Jim. I think that Purple Pixie will be coming home so live with me soon. How tempting was it for you to fix the tag placement🤣
Great video Jim, I'm really excited about the Hardy Begonia Sterling moon, , I hope i can get my hands on this one !
It is beautiful!
I’d go broke if I were to be in a nursery that had plants like that everywhere.

Oh yeah definitely. I say that pretty frequently. The city is almost certainly zone 8a.
Where can you buy the screen play hollies?
Fire chiefs look really interesting.

Jim, where do I purchase these in Raleigh?
This makes me wish I had acreage 😮😂❤
Please let me know the spelling of the 'techemaria' you featured. I seem to be spelling it wrong & as a result can't look it up online. Thanks!
Tecomaria
@@carlaradke4066 Thanks Carla!

It is nurseries that are based in the south. The things that are hardy in your zone can be ordered from plants by mail.
