I am so happy to have found both of your 2 youtube channels. I immigrated from the Philippines almost 34 yrs ago, and now live in Texas. Seeing all your youtube videos from the Philippines makes me so happy & have been bringing back all the memories from the Philippines. It really is nice that your kids have adapted so well and they are open to trying new dishes and experience a different culture! Excited to follow all your videos❤
Great job Erin! As a Filipino American, I can say this is an authentic adobo dish you’ve created! Keep it up and I think you guys can seriously start a Filipino food cooking series within this channel! Much love from California!
Came across with ur channel, and as a Filipino Im so amazed with the efforts and extra mile you've shown to really diversed with the culture one day at a time. ❤❤❤
OMG! This is family vlog right? I feeling just like I'm watching International show, because of authentic and quality on how you make a vlog. Its so perfect and amazing! I love it! I love also adobo. Its so delicious. Have a good day everyone.
Try the easy Tinola Manok, sauté onions, ginger, and garlic for about 2-3 minutes, followed by the chicken cuts, sauté for about 5 minutes. Then pour in chicken stock or water salt and pepper to taste, boil for about 5 minutes until chicken is cooked. Add in basil leaves or moringa leaves (malunggay leaves). happy eating. dipping sauce to partner with the chicken tinola, patis, and calamansi. yummy. Don't forget the rice. Pour some oil to thicken your adobo sauce. soursop is Guyabano fruit
Im still trying to replicate my grandmothers adobo recipe she made a really good version hoping when I go back to my province in Leyte I’ll watch my aunt make adobo so I can learn
Hooray 🎉! The family that cooks and eats together, stays together! Reagan’s first appearance in LTP channel is it? I think Erin’s adobo looks yum! There are actually many variations of adobo, and depends on your likeness. Some will cook it as pork, then let the gravy evaporate until it is dry and fry the pork with additional oil. On your version others may also add some boiled egg it in or potatoes or even go for both chicken and pork on it to give more variation and texture on the adobo. I like my adobo with tomatoes (my moms version). Wow kids are amazing too with their chef like skills! I adore how their tastebuds and olfactory nerves are spot on. ❤
Great job Lockwood family for challenging yourselves by cooking Filipino dishes! Maybe do a cookoff with the Ocampos/Momduty! Love following both of your channels & inspired to visit the Philippines soon!!
It makes my heart full to see the Lockwoods complete again. Wish we could've seen and/or heard more Reagan. Just very happy for all of you! See you guys in BGC when you come back to the PH!

WOW! We are honored to inspire you. That is a great leap and we hope it works out so well for you. If you ever see us around High Street please say hello.

So proud of you guys..im a Filipino and its my first time to watch American people cooking/doin' some filipino dish esp.the chicken adobo..i hope you guys will cook more fipino dishes soon .again am so proud of you and thank u so much..Godbless u all😊
Good job guys! Some of my own personal tips. You could marinade the chicken like a rosemary chicken just to add flavor to it along with worcestershire sauce. If u do pork adobo, try to brown it in margarine or butter instead of oil. Next, I noticed u didn't dice any onions. Most filipino dishes that have a sauce start with sauteing onions then garlic. If u don't want the meat to be too salty, don't season the meat with salt anymore as the soy sauce is salty enough. Lastly, the use and proportions of soy sauce and vinegar is according to ur personal taste. I personally do half a cup to a cup of soy sauce depending on the amount of meat then add vinegar by the tablespoon according to my preferred sourness :)
Noo this is americanized. Soy sauce , coconut vinegar (tuba), garlic, black pepper, garlic, onion, and bay leaves. Filipino cuisine dont use things such as rose mary, Worcestershire, and butter.
Great job on the adobo! You did the right thing by using dried bay leaves and slow cooking the dish. Would love to do some cooking for your family when you get back 😊
Thanks! And what a fun collab that could be! Are you in Metro Manila by chance? Since we can't DM in UA-cam, maybe we can start an email convo here: followabc.com/inquiries - Hope we can meet up! ❤️
You can make an extra large batch of adobo that you can use for different meals all throughout the week. Also for busy people,no time to cook, just reheat it in microwave, topstove. It can last up to 4 days in the fridge because of high acid content of vinegar and salt(sodium) for preventing the spoilage causing bacteria.
Wow everybody has a tasked, it's gonna be teamwork. Everybody was developing ideas and at the same time establishing a bonding family that created unity in the family. The parents were mentors.
Hello Lockwood Family! I’ve been watching all videos and this episode is incredible. It’s nice to see the family cooking together, one tradition of a Filipino family is to cooking together. I could recommend The Filipino Instant Pot Cookbook, one of the writer is my niece. Its one of the best selling cookbook in Amazon.
the kids are (if not already) gonna be thankful for these experiences and memories you've been able to make with them, travelling around the world and seeing how life is like for different people, sometimes not even visiting other countries in the usual tourist style pre planned package type thing but raw, real adventures, it will really enrich them and expand their worldview unlike many other people whove only ever known the one place and never been able or had the chance to see the world. makes me somewhat jealous that i didnt get the chance to be part of a family like yours
Thank you so so much for this. We are so proud of our kids and we know this exposure to the world is good for them. We can't wait to see the long term effects it has on them as they become adults.
You can cook in the rice cooker of rice like 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of water. Or in stove 1cup of rice to 1 cup of water. Put in stove in low heat. And it will cook absolutely good!
Wow I can't believe that you are living like a Filipino already. With that chicken adobo, looks so delicious and the mango sticky rice that brooklyn did, so happy to seeing you enjoying and cooking our food and delicacies. Looking forward to more cooking our dishes !

Hiiii😊 a little tip for cooking adobo when you tasted that the vinegar and soysauce blend really well add sugar according on how you would want the sweetness to be and you can put onionsss too SO PROUDDD🫶🫶🫶
So happy to see that the whole family got involved and enjoyed the whole meal from starter to main course to dessert watching you guys from London England x
Yes, it's crispy pata the deep fried pork knuckle part and lechon kawali the deep fried pork belly. The actual lechon is the whole pig roasted on a spit and the best version i've tried is the cebu lechon variant. And soursop is locally called guyabano.
Wow, that was quite an adventure in the kitchen! Erin, you're rocking that chicken adobo - it looks absolutely delicious. Phil, your mixology skills are on point, and that martini with a twist sounds like the perfect cooking companion. Brooklyn, the mango sticky rice turned out fantastic, and Colt, that sorbet looks refreshing! And let's not forget the culinary journey at Manila Bay Restaurant - those dishes sounded amazing. It's impressive how you bring a mix of Filipino flavors to your home. Keep having fun in the kitchen, and I'm sure your viewers will keep coming back for more delightful recipes!
Mabuhay Lockwood family! So much to look forward to your new channel❤. So humbling for you to love our filipino cuisine! Your productions are always inspiring to watch. Thank you❤
Rice cooker not needed to make white rice. Simply use a medium-sized sauce pan. Pour in whatever amount of rice you want (I typically just eyeball to about half the height of the pot). Rinse and drain the rice a few times in the pot with water over the sink. Then add water. Use your ring finger to measure the amount of water (the first line on the ring finger to the level of the rice is the perfect amount of water). Cover and put on medium/low heat for about 20 minutes. I tend to add some butter on top once I remove it from the heat and let the butter melt and fluff it up before serving.
Erin's Adobo is pretty much her version of Adobo. She actually did a good job because you can't really go wrong with adobo at all. There are so many different types how you want them to cook it as long the similarity taste is there then it's adobo hehehe. This is actually very entertaining how you guys learning the recipes of what you've eaten in Philippines. I say keep it up and do more of this when not traveling.
God adobo is such a comfort food for me! There’s no right or wrong way of making it because everyone has their own version of adobo. It’s really amazing to see you guys embrace the Filipino culture and sharing it to your viewers!
I’m feeling proud of your love for the authentic Filipino taste. It’s flavorful and differently interesting. It’s global food fusion of Latin hispanic, Chinese, Indian with ethnic fil twist in it. Great job Erin and kids. Dad Phil surprise us with your crispy pata soon, missed the taste of it dip in soy sauce with lots of tomatoes and onions 😊
I like adobong baboy (Pork Adobo), Kare-kare (Beef in Peanut butter Sauce), and pritong tilapia (fried Saint Peter fish). These are my most favourite Filipino dishes. Congratulations on you guys for cooking great Filipino dishes. Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍❤❤❤ Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
Vinegar should be the last. When the meat is tender and just simmer and don’t stir. And it’s really for preservation purposes. If you put too much vinegar you can add sugar to balance again the taste.
Strictly for chicken adobo you have to add at least 1 teaspoon of smashed peeled ginger. It will ad a nice taste and will smell much better. Also for every 3 pounds of chicken or pork it should be 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/2 cup of vinegar. More than soy sauce than that it wil be super salty. You must render the sauce until at least 2 inches from the bottom so the sauce is thick and tasty. And the meat is peeling off the bone. Eat and enjoy

Vinegar should be the last. When the meat is tender and just simmer and don’t stir. And it’s really for preservation purposes. If you put too much vinegar you can add sugar to balance again the taste.
Thanks for the tip 👍🏻

Strictly for chicken adobo you have to add at least 1 teaspoon of smashed peeled ginger. It will ad a nice taste and will smell much better. Also for every 3 pounds of chicken or pork it should be 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/2 cup of vinegar. More than soy sauce than that it wil be super salty. You must render the sauce until at least 2 inches from the bottom so the sauce is thick and tasty. And the meat is peeling off the bone. Eat and enjoy
