Hitting on Frank's wife right in front of him, openly defying him, making deals behind his back. Tony has an interesting definition of being "loyal"

    • @masterzombie161

To be fair though Frank most likely doesn’t even sleep with his wife but other women, even Tony remarks on how and quote “look in your eye that you haven’t been fucked in a year.”
It’s not a defense on Tony for hitting on a guys wife, but can’t really blame Tony for being more man than Frank.
The side deal is another thing, the deal with sosa is actually pretty dumb considering how much of the product they want to move and the attention it would bring on them. However since Tony proved he has more balls it would be wise to team with sosa as long as they keep their word with each other as it’s proven after this that they were able to get away with it for the time being.
All in all Frank is sort of in the right, but in the end this business is about having the balls to reach the top. This movie is great at exploring both sides.

@@masterzombie161 Tony actually survives the first meeting with Sosa by openly arguing with Omar. Tony had a very different set of definitions than everyone else. He actually probably didn't think he was backstabbing Sosa. At the end he's a clown and he got a clown's fate.

Tony was going behind Frank's back and making deals that he didn't have the authority to make, making deals with sosa that Frank had no insight on and didn't know how extensive those deals were, his right hand Omar got killed with Tony being present and seemed sketchy to Frank at the time, Frank also warned tony not to get too greedy and lay low with the deals he was making which could have resulted in open wars with other drug king pins and Tony brushed it off and acted like a smart ass, plus Tony was hitting on Elvira right in front of him while being defient when told to back off.

Corrupt cops are not something you fk around with AT ALL unless their buddies can't tie you to a hit. This is why:
The corrupt cops in my city of 150,000 absolutely harassed a guy for over a year because he was dating a corrupt cop's ex-wife, pulling him over for no reason, etc. It finally came to a head when the cop broke into the ex-wife's house and put his service weapon into the guy's mouth and threatened to blow his head off if he didn't stop seeing his ex. The boyfriend and the ex-wife hired an attorney and file a lawsuit against the department and the city, which launched a criminal investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
It made major headlines, and in exchange for dropping the felony charges, he was allowed to retire early and pled guilty to misdemeanor stalking, 2 years probation with conviction wiped clean after probation served.
If it wasn't for the local paper sh*tstorm he would have gotten no conviction, just a slap on the wrist and maybe early retirement. You or me, plea down to armed felony, 3 years minimum prison.
Now, can you imagine what would have happened to a drug dealer that whacked a cop in a much bigger city??

And that's the way it is in ANY larger city. The reason cops cover for other cops is that they keep book on each other, even up into the higher ranks. A lot of favors traded and deals made. That's why cops only socialize with other cops and their wives. A lot of stuff comes up that civilians aren't supposed to hear.
There's even a smaller town 20 mins West that is so cop-resident heavy that the cops only sell their houses to other cops. 1600 population, probably 300-400 cops from the county and surrounding cities live there. Guess who doesn't get DUIs when they get pulled over in town?
