Me: That's impressive! How much is it?
Nucleus: $500
Me: That's way too expensive!!
Nucleus: Go hire yourself an orchestra then.
Hire them is more expensive, buy instruments is much more... xD and there is other things... or you can play record by microphone from some market(5$) and i hink this is gonna be great xD
Lol how much you think an orchestra would charge for a track? 🤔 I've been wondering that...
@@LordADNsVlog The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra costs 17,25 € (about 19 USD) per musician per hour
New stripped down version, Nucleus Lite, for $99.
Hahah great dialogue
"EVERYBODY NEEDS THIS" word lemme check how much ohhhhhhhhhhhhh $449? I don't NEED that.
There is so many free kontakt libs., but you need full kontakt for them... this one is made for player at least, but price is 3 times more than hardcase for my Solar A 2.6, that cost approximatly 1/3 of price that i pay for my guitar when there solar guitar retailer where i bough my A 2.6 don't sell hardcases from solar guitars only gig bags... That made me MAAD.... ;) buy the way Full Kontakt 6 cost aprox 440 us dollars... And i don't need that too, but have freaky dream to afford for this... :D
Nick Lindsay-Abaire Check out vstbuzz.com. They have great discounts on plugins and new deals every week I believe. I’ve seen a lot of orchestral stuff on there. But as the guy above stated you may need the full version of Kontakt player for some of them.
imagine paying for software

Hey you're that guy that plays guitar!
As an orchestral player I can say that all of the instruments sound really accurate. Good job Audio Imperia!
Honestly I got chills when you demo'd the part that you arranged for the Feared song. Wow.
That's Satan entering your body. Randal Satan is a great amp.
Ola, the composerer.
I have that Philharmonik one and love it. Also, metal and orchestral go together incredibly. It only increases the evil.
Great video, Ola!!!
This is a great library for the money! It covers everything and is a great introduction to the orchestra. I great plus on this one is the solo instruments, which a lot of core libraries don’t contain!
Loved hearing you play this, phenomenal sounds!!
The geekbumps are real. Thank you for making this video!
I’ve been using virtual choirs and orchestras in my own compositions for a while now. It adds a stirring quality, and when done well, it’s a completely natural fit with metal guitar-oriented music (as Ola demonstrates here). The only “problem” is that using virtual instruments affords the composer the ability to write parts that cannot be played on physical instruments. But this can also be a plus, depending on the recorded outcome. Strings, brass, and choirs can fit metal like a glove.
Please release the whole orchestratal version of that song! Sounded awesome!
Awesome? It's amazing, Ola! 🤘🏻😍
Your orchestral part adds something extraordinary to the original song, man.
Very very good stuff Ola!
Ah, nothing quite as good as waking up with Ola and whatever hes uploaded for the day😎
Great review Ola - really interesting to see it being used outside of the usual film/trailer composer setting! And hey, I know $449 sounds like a lot but the amount of work and *risk* that goes into creating something like this is unreal. Knowing the AI guys (and being involved in this library in my own small way, making the drones and pads) I know how hard they worked on it. The recording, editing, scripting. Think how much it'd cost to pay someone to do just those jobs, let alone record an entire orchestra. If you need it, you'll make it happen. And if you can't get it yet, there are enough tools out there to learn and maybe earn with that are cheap or free until you're in a position to do so. But always, always support these guys. They're good eggs.
That doesn't excuse the pricetag though. As in many scenarios, they would make more money having a price people could actually afford and thereby sell more copies than setting the price ridiculously high and not hardly selling anything. I mean, it's a digital product, the work has already been done. It's basically the same in the game industry nowadays, even though companies doesn't have to press discs and print covers etc the games are still as expensive as digital downloads. Doesn't make sense. Cut the price, sell more, make more profit than being greedy and getting 1/5 profit you could have gotten.
@@andreasjohansson1952 If you look at the other products in the market, this is exactly where it should be and actually lower than what I would have thought. Albion one is good but it's only sections available, not individual instruments. The Orchestra Complete from Sonuscore is similar but the quality of the samples are way lower, also you're not using it's Pattern engine on anything serious. Metropolis Ark 1 is great but doesn't have as many instruments. I could go on. People have $500-1000 libraries that are JUST brass, or strings, or whatever specialty library. For example you can have JXL brass, Cinebrass, Cinematic studio brass, whatever flagship library you can think of. All of those owners can fire up all brass sustain on Nucleus and be blown away.
@@justinbeamon6624 Really? I'm highly sceptical. How does Nucleus blow away JXL brass? Or Spitfire? Genuine question.
I have been looking like something for this for so long, can't wait to try this out
just found this channel tonight, subscribed, very impressed Ola !
Holy S**T, that sounded F***ING EPIC!
Please release what you've written in this video as an MP3, or AAC, or WAV, or whatever is easiest for you. I want to play that. I don't have Logic, but it would be great to be able to play what you showed in this video. I loved it. I very much look forward to Solo Project #2 with elements like this in it, and I've love to hear that Feared song with the orchestral accompaniment. Thank you, that swelling, beautiful music put a huge smile on my face while I was listening. Be proud.

@@kimseniorb it does in the sense that you don't need a full orchestra in a room to get the sound of one now. However I know what you mean
@Jeff T Not to mention samples from a plug in like this are already processed and EQ'd to be damn near perfect. The user doesn't have to tweak any settings, those software instruments are recorded really well. Props goes to the musicians and engineers that created the samples!
Even Mozart used Kontakt. He just was early to the game lol

ahah I was hoping to see this comment quick. And I did.
The loudest part of your orchestra sample, sounds a little bit like the main theme of "INCEPTION"
I had the exact same feeling.
@vattenmelon Sounds morel ike a dream collapsing to me, but i get your take from it too
Dream is collapsing. Absolutely.
i've just noticed the same.....the string section....hah
It uses a very similar chord progression. In "Dream Collapsing" from Inception, the first chord is the same, the second is the same but uses the first inversion instead of the root, and the third chord is the same. Only the last chord in the progression is completely different, going to a sharp III major 7th in the Inception score, instead of a vi minor in Ola's song.
Lush as hell tunes man. That sample of your new album is the stuff I love. Airy and atmo with plenty of emotion. That stuff puts metal down a bit on my ladder of kick ass music.
Beautiful as hell!

I get the feeling that the pricing on these plugins is still based on a a time when mainly professionals bought them, and they didn't sell a ton of copies so they had to charge a considerable amount to make their money.
Well, nowadays I would suspect that hobbyists account for the majority of the market, and that price range just doesn't make sense in that case.
Look Audio Imperia, you can keep selling it for $500 and you will only sell a few copies to serious musicians and studios, or drop the price to $15O and sell ten times as many copies to hobbyists all over the world.
Considering what they have to do (get the instruments, musicians, recording space, record each note multiple times, program the plugin) and the amount of plugins there are out there, free and paid, I'd assume it's way too risky to sell for cheap. Not to mention that there are sales for normal people.
this. Also i don't get why Autodesk 3ds Max is still $1500 just to use it for a year.
+Stephen Vanbellinghen 3D modeling software haven't really had a good reasonably priced alternative until Blender 2.8 came out so I don't think they've had a reason to make it cheaper. Being industry standard also makes it unreasonable to change the price tag since most people and big companies are forced to get it anyways. Adobe does the same.
Hey Offinthepines. The market has honestly not changed all that much since I started working in the world of cinematic software instruments about 8 years ago. It's become more competitive and there are a lot more options for users nowadays, that's for sure. But prices to record orchestras, recording studios or stages, engineers, and time to make the plugin ... those factors haven't changed at all and in a lot of cases have gone up quite a bit. And we work really, really hard on keeping our pricing reasonable. The pricing only reflects the amount and time invested into the product because at the end of the day, we also have rent to pay so if we price it lower ... it would just not be feasible for us to run this as a business then and it's WAY too time consuming to be doing this as a fun hobby. My background is in artist management (I used to be the day to day manager for Periphery for example) and I can 100% understand that $449 is a lot of money if you are not a professional, working composer or producer who's making money with their music. So @DantesGrill is quite right, it costs a lot more than people think to make an instrument like Nucleus and takes a lot of time and that is why we do seasonal sales and EDU pricing, to make sure we provide options for all budgets. Hope that helped!
Do you realize how much it costs to create this stuff...? There are a lot of things with bullshit prices based on the market they're selling to (like the $1000 Apple monitor stand), but things like this take a *TON* of time and a lot of money to create. Not to mention they have ongoing costs of hosting a website and hosting 20gb downloads for customers, customer support, (presumably) ongoing development to fix issues that may come up etc. Just that ongoing cost is expensive, let alone the initial cost and work to create good samples of a whole orchestra.
Nice review and well edited.
Excellent realistic sounds and very inspiring to listen to!!
I use East West but I love having orchestral sounds to use in my recordings. This one sounds nice!
East West is one of the absolute best brands of orchestral plugins.
Me too! East West is the best bang for your buck I think!
I agree - mine is the silver edition but it’s still very nice. The Steinberg in it is the only acoustic piano sample I use.
Steven Hernandez I have limited exposure to other products but I have to agree!
@Steven Hernandez With the Composer Cloud I think so! It's pretty amazing.
This is one of the best Orchestral Libraries out there now!! Hell yeah Ola, so sick to see you getting into this!!
It's actually nowhere near top-tier for an orchestral library... But it fits nicely into a certain niche by being aimed at people who don't want to fool around with huge libraries full of instruments and articulations that will probably never get used outside of purely classical orchestral music. Although, having said that, it should be quite a bit cheaper.
I will be checking this out. I work with a lot in my Kontakt library and this does sound pretty awesome. Thanks Ola🙏🇨🇦

I have East/West H'wood Orchestra, Cinesamples (and now the lifetime Musio app), A whole lot of Spitfire Audio products and I'm getting tired just typing it all. OH $449.... well then...
Welcome to the world of orchestral sampling - they have to hire out the entire orchestra to create these sample libraries bear in mind, which is not cheap . And $449 is a very good price for what you get in Nucleus, especially for beginner composers who are looking to get an all-in-one orchestral sample library that is high quality and extremely playable :)

This is by far the best "first" library you could get. You won't get something that lightweight, yet still awesome sounding and easy to use at this pricepoint somewhere else.
Never thought I needed this but its pretty sick
lol all these people complaining about the price...
Have you people seen how much it costs to hire an entire orchestra? And yes, you CAN do quite a bit with decent free libraries. But they are extremely limited compared to something like Nucleus.
How much is it to hire an entire orchestra? I'm genuinely curious. Lol. I'm going to assume it costs more than $500... :p That being said, I just pulled my debit card out for this badboi of a plugin.
@@SomeChumpster the average costs of hiring a full Symphonic orchestra can range from being between $50,000 to $100,000. And that's not a one time payment either.
@@WrektSK That sounds about right. At least for good players. Thanks for getting back with me!
@@SomeChumpster no worries my man, glad to have helped. Cheers!
"Every RICH songwriter should get this" is a more appropriate title. 500€ is way too much for most of us metalhead amateur producers ; )
Depends.
If this is the type of style you want to make, then 500 would be pretty fair in the long run.
It is basically getting another instrument. (And one that is quite varied at that)
So you don't have any amp or guitar that's well above that? It just depends where your priorities are. EzDrummer alone is for example 200€, and that's something I consider an essential buy.
