Kinda cool seeing a variety of modelers being reviewed in a live environment use case. I'd personally like to see the BOSS GT-1000 get some use. Anyway keep doing cool stuff man!
@@Apollo-Saturn Yes…and no. I love tube amps and have largely stayed away from digital because to me it just never reacted the same with guitars/pickups and drive pedals. This unit does react just like a tube amp and it sounds great. The sound I would say is excellent but not going to replace the tube amp in the room sound because you have to remember you are hearing a “recording” of a tube amp, so different mics and mic placement. Now, before I had this I was running my tube amps into a Two Notes reactive load and Cab M using IR’s which is also basically a recorded amp sound with mics etc. I think the TMP sounds better than my actual tube amp with a reactive load and IR, plus its just a much simpler setup with way more easy access to options in all areas of the signal chain. It really does sound great and you have to play with the cabs, mic placement, eqs, volume levels as each preset is different. The stock presets are ok, but maybe not adjusted to your taste. It has to be adjusted to your rig and setup.
Thank you Ola! It's awesome to hear that the Fender TMP slogged it out on stage with you in the muck and rain and came out swingin'. I finally got tired of the Boss GT-1000 CORE screen and how dated it is, plus I am having issues with the computer software (BTS) spazzing out with any computer running Windows 11, no Bluetooth, etc.. I purchased a Fender Tone Master Pro for $1,349 directly from Fender yesterday. I've been going through videos for it, especially ones like this where it's not just an initial review, and I'm feeling better about spending that much because of this video..
I’ve been using the line 6 helix for the last year or so for gigs. I know you didn’t love it when you tried it out, but it’s had some awesome updates since then. Definitely worth revisiting but you need to spend some time on setting up your patches 🤘😎
you should give the profile player a second chance: 1) main out to FOH, 2)secondary output to a SS power amp (duncan powerstage IMHO) and a cab, using a merged profile. that rig is freaking small and capable.
Ola, I've made a quite compact Quad Cortex Rig myself. I've placed the Quad Cortex, a Mission expression pedal, and a Shure GLXD Wireless on a Temple Duo 17 pedal board, all powered by a Cioks DC7, and I use the temple side panel modules to easily access my sends for the power amp and the XLR outputs. I have this in a gator case along with all my cabling and a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700. The whole rig weighs about 36 pounds (16.3 Kilograms), and in my opinion is the most compact I can be while having all my needs covered. I'm not 100% sure (I haven't flown for any gigs yet) but the rig may even be small to be a carry on for a flight. I would love to send you pictures I'm just not sure the best way to do so.
Would like to see you try out the Tonex at another show! It does have two outputs, but you can’t choose to either have one with the ir on and the other off (yet). Maybe you could bring the Boss Ir-2😅
Nice seeing you change the gears all the time and trying something new for live. How's Jensen's rig btw?🤔 Need to know what The Haunted are using for their rigs
IMO, the EVH is good for metal. But it's a bit "mushy" for my taste. I have patches using the Jubilee Lead channel, the Mesa MK2, and the Tangerine all using a Celestion EVH IR. Using any one of those with a tube screamer in the front with the drive all the way down and the level cranked will get a super tight metal tone. I will also put a parametric eq in the front to fine tune the overall tone. Aside from any effects that I use, I run the TMP direct to FOH and use in-ear monitors. To me, it sounds awesome! Note: it took some experimenting and exploring to find this out. But in the grand scheme, it was well worth it!
Awesome video! I've been using "The One" IR with my TMP for live gigs and it sounds great! Any chance you'll be uploading the patch you used for that performance?
What's up with that green solar X with an evertune? You do that for funsies or are you dropping easter eggs? Also I like the concept for these types of videos because there's no way of knowing until you try. The added risk of trying something in a live situation adds variables to your planning and an interesting bit of excitement to the video. I always get super hyped by the live footage you share. I love seeing Metal music bring people together for a good time.
Pretty neat to see your experience using this floor modelers live. Curious if you've tried out the Line 6 HX Stomp in this capacity or had any thoughts about if this would meet your needs or not.
Another great video. Personally, I think it would be really fun to see a similar live test video using Another low cost modeler like the Ampero Stomp. They are sounding pretty darn good these days
Ola, you oughtta try a modeller called Amperium Live. It's not the most intuitive modeller but for 500 euros it's a steal. I think it's up there with the Quad Cortex and the Helix stuff, tone wise. Just lacking options and ease of use. Try to get your hands on one!
yes, and believe me, amps sound so real that you don't need a lot of them. You will enjoy plenty of time with just a single amp. Several weeks with TMP and I am still with Preset 1 without effects. Just that fender amp sounds absolutely amazing.
You should check out the new version 4 Boss GT1000 amps. 3 new metal amps just released. It would be awesome too if did a video on it. Looks like Boss is ahead of Fender.
Having played extensively on both I can say the Boss is great but I'd rather have the Fender, the modelling on the Tonemaster sounds significantly better and the UI on the GT is pretty toilet
hey Ola! i was wondering if you could answer a question about how you used the tonemaster live please? when i plug my tonemaster into my desk, i find that the level from the TMP is so strong that i have to have the gain level completely OFF on my channel and even then, i can only turn the volume slider up a tiny bit on the desk because the sound is so loud/harsh. did you have this problem? best regards, dee. ps, love your work =)
WAIT WAIT WAIT! Is that a Neon Green X type with an Evertune on the wall? What the hell man, I JUST bought an X type but NOT the Neon green because it didn't come with the Evertune! How do you know how to screw with me so perfectly evil. i love you as much as I hat you. ARRRGGGGGGG!
It seems with the new firmware, a new "External Cab" was added. I was wondering if it is exactly what we need when sending to a power cab. Could you try it adding to the cabinet output line?
Yes, there's a Rectifier model. Checkout the videos by Sonic Drive Studios. He compares the TMP Rectifier model vs a real Rectifier and 8 other modelers.
I understand you don't like line6 stuff that much, but, been using the PodGo for a while now on live settings with my band. It sounds awesome both direct to front of house and with power amp and cabinet. Since you're trying different stuff, you could also try this one out.
'It's the best and most ultimate test of....Oh fuck off see ya bye!' 🤣
We where in front, and it kicked ass, it was worth standing in the rain and mud and cleaning shoes and our car the entire Sunday 🤣
Ola’s pedalboard: a towel
I love you so much
fender tonemaster's UI looks so nice.
Huge selling point.

Guitarist in my band uses one. Works just fine to my ears.
I know Nita Strauss uses it live. Andy James has one too but I've never seen him live.
Love my Tone Master Pro. Perfect unit for someone moving from analog to digital.
Are they have the same tube feel when u play ?

I think Rob Arnold using this for his live setup. If it’s the same one. He speaks highly of it.
You are probably the only one putting those things to the test live. Props to you brother, keep up the great content!
The best test method. Should survive playing in my bedroom for sure now!
thank you for another Fender tone master pro video. Please keep it up with this product!!
Killer tone from the tone master and your fingers. 🎸☠️🎤
My god.. that tone is amazing.
Wow..That's the best I've heard the TMP...KILLER!!!! ..oh..and it's nice to see how high Ola wears the guitar/strap....not hanging way down low..
I have to wear it like that for my back.
@@OlaEnglund Cool..I have to do the same!
Awsome news with the mud... and even better news that the gig went so well with the TMP unit. Thanks for the heads up. You rock Ola!
Glad that rig worked out for you, Ola - especially in the rain and mud!
Surhuizum, also played there, great festival, too bad the weather was shitty this time
I have to admit... the interface is pretty slick!!! Very easy to use on the fly.
Bobby Hambel from Biohazard played it in Prague and fed it into an EVH power amp and it played
I loved when you used to play with Fractal
Did You upload Your presets to Fender TMP cloud? If not, please do........We neeeeeeds them! (Gollum voice). :)

Check new updates on Fractal FM3. A lot of changes was made - new tones, new no gaps patch, new IR system.

Mr Swede!! What about something like the Mooer 5150 pedal into the Mooer baby bomb power amp for live? Cradle of Filth did that on a tour. 🤔
Carpeted floor monitors at a metal show is bold move...I'd probably avoid giving them a sniff test! 😂
best ending ever.
I'd love to see you do a video on testing the ToneX live! WIth the price point, it's a huge advantage for players
I got a chuckle of your clean patch, dirtier than my lead lol
It's ola, even his cleans are distorted LMAO 🤣
Ola's clean tone is like my hard rock overdrive tone LMAO
SOMEONE TELL HIM TO UPDATE THE DAM TMP - SOLO AND ORANGE ARE ON THERE
you have the instructions on the official fender website "firmware update"
Hey Ola ! At Hellfest I noted you had a 5150 head on stage. Did you use it as power amp only ? Anyway, you sounded insane 🤩

Use a Friedman IRX or IRD with some overdrive in front and delay reverbs in loop into that power amp. Would be small and sound epic
Hey man, great video and great sound. Can you share your presets in the Fender cloud? Cheers!!!
Do you ever mess up your presets because of the rotary foot shitches? or can you disable the rotary function when yu are not editing?
The SLO is pretty Brutal
Great video Ola, wonder how many musicians out there can take out these modelers and use them in real world conditions.

Can you try to use the HX Stomp the same way? I guess there are a lot of players that use the
