This spot is in my hometown. The place changed hands several times over the years, it was a damn hoppin spot in my grand parent's day. I rember going as a young kid in the 90's and there was water fountains built into the floor and a asian style bridge to walk over that split the main room down the middle. Im pretty sure they remodeled by just building flooring over top all of it. Im certin this was a high end spot in the 70's and was never originally a buffet. The way it looked back then was out of this world like you thought for sure you where across seas! Them fountains and the decorations wherw legit mind blowing for all to experience.
Thanks Chrissy! I was taken back by the same thing. It’s so rare for something to sit for that long with no graffiti. I’ve started using a DJI Mobile 3 gimbal. I’m still getting the hang of it but it forces me to slow down which is definitely what I needed.
The restaurant looked nice but that kitchen was sickly. Maybe the health dept closed them down. The lights and etched glass are my favorites. Thanks for sharing
I have actually eaten at that restaurant back when it was in business. I had heard that there was a video made about it. Sad to see it empty, but I appreciated the tour.
This place is bizarre. It truly does appear that the workers closed for the night and fully intended to come back the next day. I'd love to know what happened. And you're right that you should be wearing a mask when you're exploring places like this. With all the dust and mold you need to protect your lungs. Take care. Really enjoy your videos. :)
I agree is was like they planned on coming back the next day but prolly showed up to a locked door. Definitely weird. I was so amazed by this place I couldn’t stop to mask up. Everything was covered in grease and mold 🤢. I am so glad you like the videos! If you haven’t already please consider subscribing!
It was fairly dry when we were there but you could tell that the ceiling was definitely letting water in after a rain. The whole building was just damp.
The kitchen door is a 2-way push door from both sides... restaurants always have them so you don't have to touch them while carrying in & out food. Pretty cool place but makes ya wonder what closed them down. Great tour thanks!
If they had an untreatable mold problem, they would have to close down. They were probably told to just leave everything where it was and walk away. The kitchen looks worse than unsanitary conditions. It looks like there was a fire, and then it was abandoned. Too much black soot everywhere.
Enjoyed the video, thank you! I noticed in the comments that someone said this restaurant may have closed because of sanitation concerns. I was thinking it could have been a bank foreclosure. In any case it's closing was sad and jobs lost. That was a beautiful 3D painting. As dirty as this restaurant is it hasn't made me lose my taste for Chinese food. I love Chinese food and people tell me I should have been born Chinese! Please stay safe and healthy gentleman and hello from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
I agree Debbie! It’s sad to see any business shut down. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I spent a lot of time in Canada and really love the people and the country. I’ve never been to Manitoba but it’s definitely part of the country I want to visit. I spend a lot of time near Toronto for work and we vacationed in Parry Sound every year except this one 😢.
I didn't think it looked familiar .did u ever work out something with the owner of the 1825 mansion ? She hopefully will let u post another video .I had always wanted to see the inside of that she let my daughter go in it some yrs back but only the first floor of it
I actually worked there for a brief time the late 1990s early 2000s. Owners at the time had some of the best Chinese food around before selling it to another party and moving back to China.
Looking at the kitchen I can see why it is/was shut down..health dept is my guess. I used to deliver bar and restaurant supplies, could tell you horror stories about these places...if there was one, bet the cash register was empty
There is a Chinese restaurant that closed a couple days ago. The place was called Lin's garden in GA I don't know why they closed. But I ate there before they had okay food😛
There's an old restaurant next to Meijer on Wilmington Pike. It was originally a Ryan's Steakhouse then it became a Chinese buffet. It has been unused for several years. I think it closed due to bugs.
@@OnceOccupied give it time, nothing seems to last there. Even though its next to Meijer and Dunkin Doughnuts, it is not very visible and easily overlooked.
When I was a kid I remember a story that someone died (maybe murdered) in the kitchen area when it was Ryan's and it was now haunted. I think I ate at the Chinese buffet once before it closed.
I’d love if you guys would somehow be able to get into 4032 Linden Avenue in Riverside. It was a school converted into a multi-million dollar business and is now boarded up. I loved working there!
Sadly it is totally destroyed inside. We explored it six months or a year ago and ran into scrappers cutting pipe out of it and called the cops. I didn’t make a video on it because there is really nothing left inside because of the damage.
Once Occupied - Awww, man! That stinks! I wonder if that’s why it’s boarded up now. I’m sad that there’s no video though. I’d love to see it! I could point things out that we used to do as a company. 😢🤣😢
I loved the knock off Pepsi. It was like getting a behind the scenes look of what you normally never get to see you as a customer which was interesting but also terrifying 😳
Theory I have is they were about to open up one day but one day it changed. Someone might have left the stove on and when they were walking in and got in the kitchen the kitchen was on fire. They tried to put out the fire but it didn't work so they ended up leaving the resturant in fear.
It looks like maybe at 7:36 there is evidence of a small fire on the floor. Maybe that cleared everyone out (and why there are still running checks), then insurance, health dept etc kept them from reopening. Or maybe the patriarchal owner had a stroke, and keeps saying he's going to open it when he's better. Lots of possible reasons. Cool explore!
That is the dirtiest kitchen I have ever seen no wonder they closed it the workers did not care about their jobs all they care about is their paycheck.
This place was a great Chinese restaurant. It was hot in a health Department not really raid I guess you could say. They were asked to provide receipts for their "meat" that was supposed to be usda choice meat. Well they couldn't provide those documents. And that leads us to this place still being closed in 2024.
That place was a gem. No vandalism is amazing. They just closed down for the night & never came back. Excellent explore.

Love the fact there’s no graffiti! I enjoyed this explore! Love your camera work! Thumbs up 👍 from me 😊

@@OnceOccupied Did that a while back.
So eerie. Reminds me of the abandoned restaurants around ny town i explored as a kid
Wow that's amazing that absolutely everything was left behind!! There's nothing destroyed and no graffiti. Be safe out there!!!
Oh wow INCREDIBLE video blessings ⚘🙏😇🙏⚘
Love seeing the kitchen in places
Good find, good find. The seats look more dusty & worn than moldy.

Don’t I feel dumb 😂. Same here I would love to know what happened. Glad you enjoyed!
Very nice find!
Yes you were correct the pan was a wok seeing the color of the stoves and vent hoods they were disgusting probably closed by health department
We were pondering what would close the business suddenly and that definitely makes sense! That seems like the most plausible reason 🤜🏻
If they had an untreatable mold problem, they would have to close down. They were probably told to just leave everything where it was and walk away.
The kitchen looks worse than unsanitary conditions. It looks like there was a fire, and then it was abandoned. Too much black soot everywhere.
Nasty place, probably not keeping up to health code and they probably thought they would open again yuck!
Off brand drinks! Lol 😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've been there before when it was in business. It was pretty good.
The music before the intro instantly reminded me of Portal.
our Taekwondo Master took the Korean Tigers here for dinner in 1998. They were on their way to Colorado to teach our Olympians.

Very cool. I still have to hit this place soon before it gets trashed.
No wonder they closed that kitchen is disgusting
Liked and subscribed! Hey from South Carolina!
Thanks Amy!
Is this in Dayton ? I love ur videos can't wait for the next one
No it’s in a totally different part of Ohio 😜
I wish there was one like this abandoned that close to home.

That electrical panel before he got to the freezers is nightmare material. The place is a fire hazard.
Mask and gloves!! Neat video! It's so gross that you and see where the doors and chairs were touched and not washed. Eww!

I’ve been meaning to check it out but it looks like they might be fixing it up
@@OnceOccupied give it time, nothing seems to last there. Even though its next to Meijer and Dunkin Doughnuts, it is not very visible and easily overlooked.
Agreed. I often check back at places I think will soon be wide-open and abandoned. 🤞🏻
I liked that place they had good food I’d drive from Trotwood to go there from time to time
When I was a kid I remember a story that someone died (maybe murdered) in the kitchen area when it was Ryan's and it was now haunted. I think I ate at the Chinese buffet once before it closed.
I'd collect the plates, fire extinguisher, collectables, light fixtures, American Flag.
What is it called and where is it?
I bet that kitchen wasn't much cleaner when they were open !! I don't do Chinese buffets myself....

Do you have to pay extra for that dust on those chips lol
No fortune 🍪 would tell them there buffet would end up like this😢
This was Lewton Elementary School.
That is very traditional kitchen for Chinese food. The stove has very hot fire for the woks, hotter than normal stoves.
nice video sir
Thanks Chris!
@@OnceOccupied welcome
This was a lot better a few months ago. All the glass is smashed now.
Those are swinging doors . All resturants have them . If you you are going in an out with trays of food you need your hands free
Looks more like 10 or 20 years! Maybe they closed due to the mold?
Dont think I'll ever eat Chinese food again!!! LOL

not too shabby for 6 years
That’s a nice scam with the premium brand soda, I’m sure that happens all the time
No doubt. Pouring Premium cola out of a Pepsi pitcher😜
Once Occupied and we all just assume “yep that’s how Pepsi tastes”
You would have to check the syrup tanks to know. It could just be a generic dispenser.
Probably to cut corners
The writing was probably Mandarin. Funny how the front was so nice and the back was a poop show. I bet a lot of restaurants are like that. Good Find!
Chinese noodles waiting for the duck sauce.
Did this place still smell of peanut oil?
this place is in my home town

The Chinese chefs will sleep in between shifts at the restaurant because they work all day ......literally all day.
Even the waitstaff does the same.
That's just a big pot on the stove
Let's head into the kitchen, Meow. meow...
LAST!
I think I have eaten at that place a long time ago.
That intro was painfully cringeworthy, besides that good video.
Tell me more! I’m always looking to make the videos better.

You definitely called shotgun! I think everybody should love this one it was so crazy to find such an untouched abandoned place with no graffiti!
