    Great as always! My dream AIAB would have to be the 6G14-A Brownface Showman with the Harmonic Tremolo in the Magma57/Deluxe61 format. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a 5F8-A HPTT in the format of the Deluxe55!

    Many thanks for this video, which is the only one (almost) to demonstrate the musicality of low gain and edge of break-up settings on the pedal.

      No questions, but I have way too many gain pedals and despite that I have been looking for a pedal that can do the tweed amp thing. And when you dive into it, even though it’s not as bad as the number of Marshall in a box style pedals, there’s an impressive amount of tweed type pedals you can find. Greer Amps has a couple of them that sound pretty convincing when you bear in mind that it’s still a ‘normal’ pedal that will have to do its thing with whatever amp you have. And of course UAFX with the Woodrow. Interesting box for many reasons and all of these brands have their own ways of doing it.
      I’ve just watched a couple of videos on your Deluxe55. I just want to congratulate you guys and girls at Origin Effects for giving me no reason to look any further, because I really don’t think there’s anything better at this moment to create that sound other than ordering an expensive clone of the amp itself (or go even further and find an original one). I am so impressed!
      I don’t want to suck up, but 9 or 10 months ago I bought the Cali76 Stacked version. I’ve had many compressors, but I could never get along with them. Since I have the Cali76 I gain a new ‘problem’. That thing just makes EVERYTHING sound better and now I never even turn it off again. A friend of mine who also plays guitar (in the same band) uses the Revival Drive Deluxe. I can go on and on about how great this pedal sounds, but what REALLY amazed me is the fact that you built in (among many other things) two controls to dial in the amount of GHOSTING!!! I had no idea what that even meant. I’ve played many old tube amps in my life and I never really noticed it being something that is just a part of what tube amps do UNTIL YOU TAUGHT ME. It literally changed my way of listening. Not just to this phenomenon, but to sound in general. So to me, you’re not just another pedal brand. You’re not even just another great pedal brand. Your products teach and force me to learn and listen in great detail to sound and what makes me love certain sounds. I do not over exaggerate when I say that even just a small number of your products changed my life and made it better, because it gave me a reason to appreciate my passion for music even more than I already did.
      I’ve never done anything like this before and I don’t want to make a habit out of it, but I just want *thank all of you at Origin Effects for your amazing work* and the effect it has on me, especially in these dark and scary times. It’s wonderful to know that there are people, without even knowing it, who make my life a little more colourful and hopeful. So…. thank you so, so much!!! ❤❤❤

    been watching a ton of Jay's videos lately. Love the tone and demonstrations. I was digging an old video he made about jazzmasters. Only constructive feedback I have is that he is constantly playing things super fast. Sometimes I wish he'd let the notes and chords breathe a little to showcase the sound of the pedals. It's almost like making the switch from a double shot espresso to just enjoying a cup of green tea or something. Oddly enough, in this video he did slow down his playing quite a bit and I thought it sounded fantastic. Well done! This pedal will be my next purchase

    O M G. I’ve been looking for an analog Tweed Deluxe in a box forever, and just decided to buy a Origin Deluxe 61 and call it it close enough, and then I open UA-cam this morning and see this right off the bat. Now a I’ve got some debating to do.

    • @GearSmackMusic
      @GearSmackMusic 2 місяці тому +1

      Is that a joke? Catalinbread has had all analog and super accurate Tweed in a box pedals for a long time. As well as a few other brands... However, this take/spin is a welcome gamble.

      @darwinsaye 2 місяці тому +1

      @ I looked hard and long at the Formula 55, the Crazy Tube Circuits Falcon, and everything else that seemed to try to get into the Tweed Deluxe territory, and nothing got as close as I wanted. The Origin has actually got there.

      @@darwinsaye If you want the absolute closest, go with the UAFX Woodrow, I have one and almost forgot I own it just because I've been working more with the Lion and the Enigmatic. This doesn't come close to a Woodrow but then again, the Woodrow is $100 more.....

      @rogerYT69 Місяць тому

      @@GearSmackMusic its a cool pedal but I also think that the woodrow is a bit more accurate because it has a instrument and mic level and built in cabs. with the origin you need external IR's ox stomp or something similar if you want to use it as an amp modeler...

    Someone help me out here. Everything sounds, great for sure but...if you have a Amp in a Box and go into front of another amp, its preamp, surely you can't get close to what the amp in a box is trying to do. In this case the Marshall pre-amp is adding its thing to the input. Would these not be better going into an IR loader or a power-amp and cab to get a realistic attempt at what the pedal is trying to achieve. Of course it's still sounding mint but can't be like a real deluxe 55 in this situation (or did that have a Marshall hidden inside it)?

    • @JayTheLane
      @JayTheLane Місяць тому +1

      Yes this is true. However, if the pre amp is set bone clean then you won't have too much colouration from it. If your amp has an fx loop you could go direct into that and bypass th pre amp.
      This sounds killer as does everything he touches.

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  8 днів тому

      I actually really dig the lead section of the Imperial, but it's definitely quite different than a tweed deluxe. The TK is a lot tighter and sweeter. The Deluxe55 gain sound is a little more filled out in the low mids and has a lot more sag.

    Gee, they go way too far with these distressed guitars...That tele has what looks to be 1/4" divots in it, which is impossible. Heck, even 1/8th inch is near impossible outside of using a metal pick.

      Fun fact: even though I do agree with you on the fact that most of these relic jobs in the Fender Custom Shop are ridiculous (I worked for a vintage guitar shop for one or two years and I’ve never seen a guitar that was more beaten up than at least 90% of all the new Fender relics), in this particular case I know for a fact that the original guitar didn’t look this beaten up at all. Almost all, if not all of it is literally the result of Jay’s playing style. He’s talked about this several times. I know there’s at least one video solely about this guitar and if I remember correctly there are even some older pictures without the bare wood showing. Jay’s a hard hitter. It’s probably a guitar with a very thin coat of nitro. These things seem to vary. 😊

    • @jamiemorgan4146

      Fender is getting Ridiculous!

    • @mariodriessen9740
      @mariodriessen9740 Місяць тому

      @@jamiemorgan4146 : Yeah, as much as I think I agree, you can ask yourself the question of WHO is getting ridiculous. Fender for giving their following the relic jobs they want, or Fender’s following. When you look at the prices of 2nd hand Custom Shop Fenders, the VOS models are being sold for relatively low prices compared to the ones that are heavily ‘aged’. In Europe most VOS models on the 2nd hand market sell for 3,000 to 3,500 Euro, depending on things like availability and specific colors. The same guitars, but beaten up drastically, will easily be sold for at least an extra 1,000 Euro or more!
      I don’t mind. I don’t lose any sleep over it. In fact, I do like a guitar that is ‘aged’ subtly. But I will never understand why you would want something that doesn’t even look authentic. I mean, this whole relicing thing began when some famous players didn’t want to take their valuable guitars on the road and the asked Fender to make authentic looking replicas. Then us mortal beings liked this idea and Fender gave them what they wanted.
      But like I wrote earlier, I used to work for a vintage guitar shop and I’ve seen countless of late fifties and early sixties Fenders and 99% of those guitars had some issues with the colors that faded and/or changed over the years and most of them would have a few dings and scratches, but rarely large chunks of lacquer missing. I always loved how you could tell the age, not by looking at the details in the specs, but just by looking at the colors and the wear. But again, guitars that missed half of its paint? Those were exceptions. And STILL those exceptions looked completely different from anything that comes rolling out of the Custom Shop in the last couple of decades.
      But hey, when even companies who only started building guitars like ten years ago almost exclusively make guitars that look like a truck drove over them (like Novo - not the cheapest guitars either), it can only mean that a lot of guitarists really really really love that look. 🤷🏻😅

    The tube switch has nothing to do with the amp you are using, or what it runs.
    The tube switch emulates the fact that many deluxe owners would often mod the pre amp tube of the deluxe to a 12AX7, for more breakup. It’s just a tonal option. You don’t need to adjust that switch based on the amp you are using.
