Thanks. What are your thoughts on the more expensive ones vs the cheap green or blue ones? I just purchased a Merv 11 by Best Air and replaced a cheap green one. We have carpet and allergies in my home. I remember back in the day when my grandparents had a box of the cheap ones. I've been reviewing videos on YT and some are stating the more expensive ones make your system work harder, due to the flow, and that the cheapies are better. If so, what about allergies and carpet?
Stupid me put in backwards last time and it sucked it inward and I had to rip and cut the filter to get it to pull out! Wtf can’t anything be crystal clear by manufacturers for dummies like me?
If I have a filter down in the living space (mine is in the ceiling where the air get sucked in), do I still have one (a second one) in the furnace unit?
Is it okay that end sticks out a little? My unit looks very similar. Existing filter is 20x24x1, but I got 20x25x1 since Lowes didnt have 24's. It will fit but will stick out a little like in your video, Is there any issues with that?
Maybe you can help- i have a question about filters- im lef here because my central air unit in the hardis HOT and fan is not spinning- i know it could be many issues including capacitor fan motor etc but yesterday when i turned it on for the first time of the year i changed the filter first, from these brown cardboard fiberglass ones that i saw @ HD for 4$ and replaced it with a 20 something $ HDx one that is supposed to be good for dust pollen smoke pets etc & am now reading that if that blower cant get enough air into the system it can cause it to go hot but my fan isn’t spinning and it makes a weird noise after engaging the second time- i was gonna pop open & clean the unit tomorrow but am still scared to mess something up . I do have experience with lots of things ive been building and putting and taking apart stuff and putting it back together again my whole life i installed 2. Water heater with no knowledge finished a basement from concrete walls & floors but i still am going to call a professional if the problem persists but i feel you would be able to give me some sort of advice. thanks!!! Either way have a good day
@@PPG1967 i opened it all up breaker off took 2 seconds to tell the capacitor was bulging, a 30 mile trip got me the part for 24$ and i had my AC running the next day!!! Thanks for your contribution to UA-cam man these type of vids have helped me upkeep my grandmas house and save much needed hard earned $$$ . Cheers to u bro!!
Simple and to the point!!!This helped me tremendously! Arrow points towards the FURNACE. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Glad it helped!...thanks for watching!!
my question was where does the arrow point, in 10 seconds you gave me the answer, thanks❤
Thank you for using layman terms. My furnace slot is horizontal, but when you say “the arrow pointing back toward the system”, it was crystal clear.
I appreciate you watching!!
Outstanding! I have watched a dozen videos and this is the ONLY ONE thus far, that explains which direction the AIR FILTER/AIR FLOW actually goes.
I'm glad I could help. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you, we had it one backwards 😂
It happened to me as well.
Yay, just wondered which way the airflow is. Thank u for quick answer! Toward the unit!
No problem 👍
Thank you for mentioning the arrow!
You bet... thanks for watching.
Thank you so much, it was simple but very helpful
You're welcome!....thanks for watching!!
Thanks. When I went down to change the filter, I wasn't sure which was air flow. Now I know for the next time.
Thanks for watching!!
Exactly what I was looking for- which side the arrow goes.
Perfecto arrow towards the furnace 😅 I can never remember and always think it’s the opposite way 🤣
I appreciate you watching.
Thank you!
I’ve been putting them in backwards for a year lol
I'm sure you're not the only one. Thanks for watching!!
10yrs for me🤦♂️

You know my parents have a older furnace that works better with the cheap green ones.
Stupid me put in backwards last time and it sucked it inward and I had to rip and cut the filter to get it to pull out! Wtf can’t anything be crystal clear by manufacturers for dummies like me?
It's ok... I was putting mine in backward for a long time, too.
If I have a filter down in the living space (mine is in the ceiling where the air get sucked in), do I still have one (a second one) in the furnace unit?
Probably not, but you should check to be sure.

You should be fine. Thanks for watching!!
I messed up and installed mine backwards on a new AC unit. Is it likely I caused any permeant damage?
Negative....what happened to your system?

Yeah, check with a HVAC technician in your area

Does a dirty filter cause the furnace to shutdown?
You would probably need to consult an HVAC technician, but a dirty filter definitely affects efficiency and performance.
Thank you!
Thank you!
