Thank you, My husband died almost 8 months ago and in my grief, I never thought about the furnace filter. When I finally did realize it needed done, I looked at furnace for days trying to figure out where it went... I had only seen one video where it just slid in. Of course, mine requires removing screws and two panels, but I was able to do it thanks to your video.

I'm sorry about your husband. I've seen so many folks over the year struggling after a spouse passes. If you have questions about anything and can't find it online, let me know. I consult and design for my own LLC so I'm always glad to research something new.

My husband also passed over 8 months ago. It was spring when it happened. He told me most things, but because of the weather we forgot the furnace. Glad you found your filter!

Thank you! I could not find where the air filter was located in my home. Until I saw this video I kept looking for a slot located on the side of the furnace to slide in the air filter. I did not realize that I had to prop open the bottom front to access the air filter. Thank you again, very helpful!

Thanks. There are a lot of unhelpful videos on changing a filter (or maybe they were just not helpful to me because the set up was too different from my furnace) but this one helped me get it right.

additional info: If your house is two levels, you will probably have an equivalent filter on the opposite side of the furnace for the upstairs intake.

I wish it were that simple! I live in a rental apartment where the landlord does not maintain the furnace. I told him I was experiencing respiratory symptoms & that the filter shoul be changed. He told me that the furnace didn't need a filter, UNBELIEVABLE!! I took the door off the furnace & see a crusty old filter. I'm now attempting to replace it but there is a metal bar holding it in place that I'm not sure how to remove. It slides up & down but nor sure how to open it. I have a York Diamond 80 any suggestions? Thanks

So doyou remove the pastic but leave the cardboard frame on the filters when installing them?

That's correct. Remove the plastic wrap and the cardboard frame stays, as it is part of the filter.

Mainly because they lack respect for themselves, thus they have none for others. Such lack of respect or poor self-image can lead to anger issues. I have noticed that, in recent years, especially among the younger generation, lack of respect is exposed on social media posts or chats. Just my 2 cent's worth.

@@violetpath7 I also think society as a whole is becoming less respectful. Both Mom and Dad are working, so who is responsible for the kids? Television? Teachers? No time for sitting around the table for family meals. No time for bedtime stories and tucking in kids. I agree with you on the anger issues. I also believe we've become a hurry-up, stressed society. There are kids out there who are brought up to be respectful, but their are a lot more who behave like over privileged brats, whose parents think their kids are perfect. My 5 cents worth. :)

to look at it but can't find where to replace the filter. does it not
have filter? or it's somewhere in there? the furnace is side ways and I
haven't change filter in 2 years. but always changed the filters on 1st

C'mon man we both know there is far more to maintaining a furnace than looking at flue piping and changing a filter. What's sad is that someone will think this is all there is to it and it will cost them in the end (hopefully just financially)
