Thank you, My husband died almost 8 months ago and in my grief, I never thought about the furnace filter. When I finally did realize it needed done, I looked at furnace for days trying to figure out where it went... I had only seen one video where it just slid in. Of course, mine requires removing screws and two panels, but I was able to do it thanks to your video.
I'm sorry about your husband. I've seen so many folks over the year struggling after a spouse passes. If you have questions about anything and can't find it online, let me know. I consult and design for my own LLC so I'm always glad to research something new.
My husband also passed over 8 months ago. It was spring when it happened. He told me most things, but because of the weather we forgot the furnace. Glad you found your filter!
Thank you! I could not find where the air filter was located in my home. Until I saw this video I kept looking for a slot located on the side of the furnace to slide in the air filter. I did not realize that I had to prop open the bottom front to access the air filter. Thank you again, very helpful!
Thanks so much! I just moved into a new house and could not for the life of me figure this out! Now I know and it took less than a minute to put one in! THANKS AGAIN!
Thanks. There are a lot of unhelpful videos on changing a filter (or maybe they were just not helpful to me because the set up was too different from my furnace) but this one helped me get it right.
I wish it were that simple! I live in a rental apartment where the landlord does not maintain the furnace. I told him I was experiencing respiratory symptoms & that the filter shoul be changed. He told me that the furnace didn't need a filter, UNBELIEVABLE!! I took the door off the furnace & see a crusty old filter. I'm now attempting to replace it but there is a metal bar holding it in place that I'm not sure how to remove. It slides up & down but nor sure how to open it. I have a York Diamond 80 any suggestions? Thanks
Mainly because they lack respect for themselves, thus they have none for others. Such lack of respect or poor self-image can lead to anger issues. I have noticed that, in recent years, especially among the younger generation, lack of respect is exposed on social media posts or chats. Just my 2 cent's worth.
@@violetpath7 I also think society as a whole is becoming less respectful. Both Mom and Dad are working, so who is responsible for the kids? Television? Teachers? No time for sitting around the table for family meals. No time for bedtime stories and tucking in kids. I agree with you on the anger issues. I also believe we've become a hurry-up, stressed society. There are kids out there who are brought up to be respectful, but their are a lot more who behave like over privileged brats, whose parents think their kids are perfect. My 5 cents worth. :)
My Furnace the filter fall down easy then the cool air throughout. Doesn’t the filter then has the cool air come out, Can you explain to me.? Thank you so much.
i tried to keep my filter longer then "3 months" and man ol man was that filter dirty when I changed it over the weekend,, ,, one huge dust spot on the filter and all kinds dead bugs caught on in the filter ,smh
How often should I change the filters for the furnace I tend to change them every 3 months should I do it more often than that or should I change it every 3 months I'm new to changing filters for the furnace to my parents house that they own any advice
my gas furnace is 10 years old the brand is bryant. I went up to attic to look at it but can't find where to replace the filter. does it not have filter? or it's somewhere in there? the furnace is side ways and I haven't change filter in 2 years. but always changed the filters on 1st and 2nd floor.
Can’t anyone tell me how to get the cover off. I’m ready to take a sledgehammer to it. The cover has a red button on it and it won’t pull or slide up or down. I’m furious and not one video has shown any cover that looks like mine.
Wow.... way more detailed then needed.. then when it came to the part about air flow it wasn’t clear to me.. I might have helped to have been able to see the arrow close enough to know how it’s pointing
C'mon man we both know there is far more to maintaining a furnace than looking at flue piping and changing a filter. What's sad is that someone will think this is all there is to it and it will cost them in the end (hopefully just financially)

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's passing. May God Bless you and bring you peace.

So sorry for your loss. I too am struggling with home things like replacing the HVAC filter after the loss of my husband.
I bought a house four years ago and have never even thought about the furnace filter. Thanks for the help Jeff.
Staying in a rental and this really helped me after 6 months. Thanks so much

How do you pop it off? I have the same one!
Thanks so much! I just moved into a new house and could not for the life of me figure this out! Now I know and it took less than a minute to put one in! THANKS AGAIN!

Thank you! Really helpful just changed my filter in less than a minute thanks to this vid
Is the furnace filter the same as the AC filter on the ceiling?
additional info: If your house is two levels, you will probably have an equivalent filter on the opposite side of the furnace for the upstairs intake.
Love UA-cam ! I’ve learned so much about servicing my heating furnace , I’ve saved myself about 350 bucks
Thank you. it helped in figuring out which way the filter goes.
Thanks George Clooney’s brother!
Bennett Wise cant unsee that now
I said it to myself. 😂😂😂😂
With a nice head of hair😊
😂😂
Oh brother where out thou today?
I always changed the one down by the intake. I never thought to change the one in the furnace
The arrow indicating airflow should always point towards the blower motor correct?
What direction should the air flow be in a gas furnace?
Needed to know where the filter was on the furnace. Thanks
TY for the help, very much appreciated 💙💜
Mine had 2 which were were confused at first by as well

Can't find where the filter is in NY milker manufactured home furnace
This guy looks like a mix of Danny Tanner and Uncle Jesse
Whish way to put the filter in on what side with the wire in the filter or point out or in
Cool. But why does a furnace make a banging sound when the air shuts off?
Thanks! This video was really helpful!
Why turn it off first? Couldn’t you wait until the just after the ran and then change it?
So doyou remove the pastic but leave the cardboard frame on the filters when installing them?
That's correct. Remove the plastic wrap and the cardboard frame stays, as it is part of the filter.
How do you open furnace. The two panels in front of furnace has three screws.
why are people so hateful with their comments..........????? If you weren't satisfied with the video just look for another one.

ditto....makes no sense.
Come on y'all, have a sense of humor, it wasn't derogative, it was funny.

This was very helpful. Thank you!

Hi, did you ever find out?
Every time I change the filter I end up watching this video to make sure I put it the right way. 😅
Thank you for sharing! It was helpful:)
Thanks Jeff. 😊
Need to be more specific about showing direction of arrows when installing. Watch other videos to get a clearer explanation.
what kind of furnace is that a trane, Goodman or a nordyne
Have not replaced my central air filter since I moved and now I’m scared

@Barbara Omelas, I know this is so late. I hope you called a furnace repair man, because it sounds like a cracked heat exchanger.

NOT a very secure filter! I bet it goes in the box next the furnace on the other side. Maybe a larger one too.
Skip to 2:20 if you have the right filter

He is HOT. Geesh.
"We'll make the arrows go, this way". Does not help us. We cannot see the arrow.
He clearly points to the arrow, he literally puts his finger on it.
OK
