Hi Aiden, thx for the review. Just for clarification
1. The Zero Ohm headphone output - The low output impedance is to maintain the natural frequency response of low-impedance headphones. With the high impedance mode, you keep the low output impedance, but you simply have more power on tap to drive your studio headphones.
2. There a few people experiencing non-ideal behaviour with the scroll wheel, but we are already working on fixing this with a firmware update.
3. Gain clicks- This phenomenon occurs with most digitally controlled analog preamps (in different intensities), so with CONNECT 2 you can run Autosetup first to find the ideal gain, (so you don’t need to adjust it while recording 😉), and activate Clipguard to ensure you can’t ruin your recording via clipping.
3 is still a party pooper. It should be possible to adjust gain while recording without artifacts like those. Maybe via a smoother ramp up over a short period of time instead of discrete steps being sent to the preamp?
@@sxbarral Exactly... I don't buy it - "this occurs with most digitally controlled analog preamps". But you, @LEWITT-audio, are so proud of this "high-tech" piece of gear, so it SHOULD be better than "most preamps". right? ;) Sorry, but such an explanation is childish in my opinion.
this is why i love companies like LEWITT they listen and respond with respect! All the love, I love your innovations to the audio world the whole team is amazing
I love Lewitt gear in general, this audio interface is cool, but there's not enough inputs and outputs for proffesional recording studio. I would like you to release an audio interface with multiple in and outs.
@@ivanmilicevicmusic This isn't designed to be a centerpiece for a studio. This is an ultra-portable and super user friendly take on the CONNECT series. But we hear you--many are waiting for a larger I/O offering.
19 minutes and no reaction from Lewitt yet? They tend to be quicker 😂😂 great company, great microphones
Hi there, we have just released a firmware update for CONNECT 2 that solves the touch wheel issue and now provides a smooth user experience. Thanks for the feedback, and if there any further questions, we are happy to help.
Thank you!
Wow, that scroll & click problem is lethal. Thanks.
Love your honesty. Great job, sir. Thank you.
Hmmm. Please don’t delete this video. This is a relevant review for the current state of the product. If the product improves, maybe do a follow up instead. Seems more honest. And that honesty is worth so much ❤
We shall see.
If the issues are fully resolved...the review would be outdated and only serve to detract from the brand...not really what I'm interested in doing.
Thanks for the video, got a question for you I make guitar videos with my phone, can I have a studio sound by doing a cover of a song while having the music also clean behind it? because I take a video of myself but via the microphone of my phone is this compatible with phone if I want to stream myself playing to have a clean sound both the music in the background and the notes that I play? thank you very much, great video! 😁
I had this is my "cart" on Sweetwater but wanted to see more than one review, Im glad I came across this. The flaws would be a NO-GO for me too. Great Video!
I haven't watched other reviews...what are they saying?
FYI We just released a firmware update to iron out the issues with the responsiveness of the touch wheel.
Good ballanced review. Think ill subscribe :)
So I myself wanted to review this..I hear your gripe but what I would have loved to see are the 3 virtual channels like the connect 6! The connect 6 is a great little 2 input setup unlike other products. This too could take that niche. Having all it has and virtual outputs. This definitely could be added in a firmware.
Is connect6 close to cababilities of iconnect 4c?
Wow ❤ what the best this or
scarlet 2i2 4th ?
Physical buttons and knobs would have helped the usability issues. My smart phone still has physical buttons at the bottom. I think this is an issue where 'cool and flashy' is a substitute for 'cheaper than including physical controls', with usability at the expense. Decades ago, digital dashboards on cars were a luxury item because the displays and electronics were more expensive (remember, no cheap or good LCDs or LEDs). Now cheap cars have them because digital screens are less expensive to make and wire than physical panels and needles.
It's short on gain, but it does make me appreciate the quick reach and controls on something like the Yamaha AG03
Can you please review the new shure nexadyne mics? Or a comparison with the Beta 58?
Yeah...I'm on it
Not a fan of the price wish it was a little cheaper especially if most of the features are in the software
Hi there, the features run on the DSP directly the audio interface but are controlled via the CONTROL CENTER
It's probably just UI software controlling the hardwarev
What is the combination that goes with the electric guitar???rewitt vs id4mk2. ???
Lewitt Vocaster 2 (but with instrument inputs)? I'm a little surprised that the cons you mentioned got by Lewitt who seem to be on top of things generally. Cool idea, poor execution.
Any chance you got a lemon?
I mean, outside of the poor quality of the cable, the rest is too huge to be have been intentionally left in an interface after after its features were set in stone.
See the companies response below
If they fix these problems
Would you rather choose connect 2 or scarlett 2i2 3rd/4th gen?
Well...the second input on the 2i2 is clutch.
If you need two mics...the Scarlett wins.
But...if you only need the one mic input...this thing would win on several different fronts.
Hmmmm just read their comment Aden. Well hopefully the scrolling is fixed. As to the ADC clicking hmmm yeah just use auto gane control and clip safe thingy they say.
I'll leav this to the ADC experts. It sounds real cool other wize.
Do you have an NT1 at hand? How does it sound with that? Remember my studio refrence is Sound-Devices 744-T with an NT1-A.
I Wonder if this would be good for Voiceover ?,
Clipping with lowest gain setting with guitar humbuckers is a common problem with almost most of available interfaces, and also with Connect 2! And for 100% sure this will and can not get fixed. This interface is "out" for me due to this reason! I tried plenty of IFs, and finally got stuck with the Apogee Jam+, which makes the guitar job for me. Yes, it makes noise when touching or moving it, but it can handle also high output humbuckers well, and that's important to me! So "Lewitt" get back to your computers, and make a better job, building an interface that really can handle actual pickup models well!
I think you just saved me some stress and money on this little train wreck!
Aiden, and that is the reason I'm your subscriber - thanks a lot for being honest!
You never added the affiliate links to the description man
Oops
Oh I remember now...it isn't on Amazon that I can see
4:15 OMG I´ve had a heart attack :D
Sorry...lol...
I like knobs to tweak on the unit
Yeah, I swapped my Mcmillen kmix fora Rødecaster Pro just to get nice faders.
But this is a very different use case. Small portable and ez setup.
I love rubber that feels really really good.
Rubber tends to break down and get sticky over time if it's poor quality!
@@rubykaufman5361 I was referring to rubber that you touch and feel just once. Single use rubber. I haven't made the switch to paper or reusable glass yet.
I'm not interested in this interface, but your video quality looks great! New camera or are you still using the Canon?
Now I'm rocking the Sony A7c2.
Got the sony 20mm 1.8 lens as well
Thanks!
@@DarkCornerStudios Rock n roll! Looks great!
@3:56 is the furnace running? 😂
Of course...lol...turned EVERYTHING on
What's the use case where the gain clicks would be an issue? I'm genuinely curious and coming from the pov of a singer, where the gain is always untouched while recording - thanks!
Livestreaming...gaining up on the fly.
Even if it isn't something that might get in your way often...I can easily spend my money on something that doesn't have that "feature"
Accountability for companies is the main reason though.
You shouldn't have to make concessions when giving your money to companies for products
@@DarkCornerStudios That's great, thanks for your insight!
Wow. Hard no from me. Loved until you you got to the negatives
Thank you! Definitely no for me.
Do Roland Bridgecast!!!!!
Yeah...I am trying...though I don't know how much Roland is talking to me right now...
@@DarkCornerStudios Understandable
@SeriouslyTechStuff it's so NOT cheap...lol
Most of the time I don't mind...but when the price creeps up like that...I hesitate.
Let me see if I can get ahold of them again and see
I've watch a lot of ur videos why is it u never give anything you preview always has problem...nothing is perfect even ur presus little sm7b which in my opinion is over rated..
??
What??
@@DarkCornerStudios they're complaining that nothing you review is perfect lol
I have a BUNCH of positive reviews.
Just doesn't like my opinion I'm guessinh
Being a reviewer isn't about being "positive"
It's about being the in-between for companies and consumers.
If I have a bad experience...wouldn't you rather know about it???
