Drinking game challenge: Take a shot every time this man mention “Rimworld”
If you manage to survive the inevitable alcohol-poisoning, perhaps try playing this new game~
The problem I have always had with rimworld is it doesn't have a second floor. Without that the intuitive defense mechanisms like towers and advantage don't work and devolves the combat into a "Trap the AI"
try out dwarf fort if you don’t care too much about graphics
yea but we 😢😢the best 👌 of our world as our own family
Im just
It's funny that you mentioned Rimworld is good as a game but you wouldnt' put it in a gallery, but Dwarf Fortress (which we all know Rim is heavily inspired by) actually was placed into the NY Museum of Modern Art. So I'd argue it could deserve a place in a gallery. Fun fact :)
I know I'm replying to a year-old comment, but that's such a cool and inspiring fact! Thank you for sharing it.
“I don’t want you guys to think of this as Rimworld...”
"This is basically Rimworld, This is 3D Rimworld."
AA 7 minutes in: "Think of this as Rimworld."
i like to think its rimworld but medieval and 3d
A Song of Killboxes and Cannibalism
Hi I just got here but is this rimworld?
3:36 YES! BRO!!! :D This game is so versatile that you can literally use the pole arms to keep enemies a tile away, while your bowmen load em up. :D You can also hyper focus 5 swordsman on one target and bring it down in 1 round of 5 bows/5sword strikes.
"medieval" just meaning historical in this case. Refrigeration was a cave that they hauled ice into with straw as a thermal barrier. They could also save hay for animals by covering it with thatch mats and then pack with dirt to prevent air flow. The grass would ferment and cure for up to five years. Another thing that people tend to get wrong is the literacy rates were much higher than people give the lower class credit for.
Literacy is one of the strangest things for linguists to research as there are few surviving documents from the time. I greatly appreciate this comment - language history is dope.
Where... would they get the ice from?
@@therealbuba Lakes in winter. Not so much during the period where Europe was warming. But there was also a mini ice age as well. Part of why I just said medieval as in historical because I forget the actual timelines.
Also Saltwater ice takes a lot more to actually freeze. I suggest searching for early forms of refrigeration and "ice boxes".
@@vagabondwastrel2361 if it’s cold enough for lake to freeze, why do they need ice to cool a room somewhere?
@@therealbuba They store it for later and also trade it to warmer climates. And rich people are gonna do rich people things.
Don't worry guys, if the game doesn't let us harvest organs, the modding comunity will xD
Thank God for mods.
Thank you I was worried
dare say, how are you going to refrigerate them until they are needed?
@@2wMaliman The game has a refrigeration system for food (at which you place the food underground), I'm pretty sure it could be also applied to organs, and in any case, you can just steal them commonly from enemies to have a nice organ stockpile u3u/
I'd like to see this game commit war crimes in a more era appropriate manner tbh
"Nothing wrong with violence." - Ambiguous Amphibian
1:07:04
Violence is not the answer. It is a question, and the answer is yes!
If Rimworld and Timber & Stone had a child it would be this game, can't wait to see how far this game comes
What is this game ?
AA: "You probably know me from Rimworld."
Me: Nah it was Kenshi that found me your amazing channel
personally, I think I found him from Project Zomboid
"Can we get other sins other than cannibalism?"
Well, it is a medieval sim. Incest might happen. I'm sure there will be murder abundant, too.
Yep. Incest, rape, murder... all considered perfectly acceptable behavior during medieval times.
Come to think of it... not much has changed.
Unfortunately
3:15:30 AA's sudden understanding noises 😂😂
"God does not play backgammon" -Einstein or something
Once we get deeper into physics, we'll have Einstein rolling in his grave. Not only does God play dice with the Universe, the dice are loaded.
"some spots just cant get a roof" have this man heard about how supports work?
Take a drink every time he says "Rimworld"
😆🤣😂
Alcohol poisoning.
"They Worship Jesus... I dont know if its actually jesus" sounds like a reason to crusade to me
It’s amazing the difference the day of visiting makes. Just left Kyoto a couple of days ago and we did Inari shrine, golden pavilion and Nara on a Sunday, Inari was ruined for me by what seemed like millions of people, ruined the place, golden pavilion was ok but it was lashing rain and then Nara was great but so packed with people. Weekday touristing a must in Japan!
The music that goes in and out is runescape music
This made me want to play terra forma craft again. And I did, 3 irl hours on searching clay for pottery, fml.
Nothing like scratching your back with a morningstar.
Cabbage is frost tolerant and can be left in field through winter OR grown in winter in warmer climes and also stores fairly well.
* says teh plant dood *
Ambiguous Amphibian is a great source for new games
You should try frost punk
Recap of the video:
Think of this as RimWorld, but don't think of it as RimWorld
I've watched this vid from start to finish, and I loved it. Keep it up.
If you actually make it to Florida you might never leave us
Truly enjoy watching your content! Keep up the good work!
Fun fact, alcohol was so important in medieval times that creating it (depending on where you lived) could be considered a religious act. It was something deemed very important by the church.
It would be an amazing idea to open an AA, get a bunch of alcoholics and just show them your videos. I mean you have really convenient initials.
Deadly drinking game: Take a shot every time he says RimWorld
that alcohol thing is a myth people knew how to make clean water
this is my first colony game it's all thanks to your vids
When Amphibian starts with the dad jokes it means the game is good isnt that wild?
Love the casual Holes quote
Was I the only one who watched him count to 20 each time skipping a space and getting to 21. I feel like it mightve been on purpose but it got me more than the opposite side doors
I think a toad smoking a Marlboro red is definitely a good avatar for you.
Looking foward to see this. It has a stonehearth vibe to it.
Hay and corn stalk beds are actually kinda nice. I'll take either of them over a pillow top soft mattress any day of the week. Just
make sure you can kill the pests.
I will be mentioning cataclysm on every vods channel comment section until i see a playthrough happen. This is your warning. Play cataclysm
This game looks awesome!
Becoming FloridaFrog
As someone from florida, we are full.
But, youre an exception so welcome to florida! You'll love it!
it looks this nice early on its development, now imagine after it has been released
Take a shot every time he says RimWorld and I'll see u in the afterlife
The group stats are right there on the right side of the character creation screen.
I do love kruggsmash
it has taken a lot of flavor from rimworld but its still a improvement over rimworld in the sense.
Its purely medieval tech which a lot of people find cool in rimworld, but always some future tech seeps trough the cracks even with mods, and as such this game is the perfect crossover.
Hey if you turn them blank they will do that task in the jobs list if you make them blind Sav and Khat that job at all in those skip over it.
Game said something about Brittish Isles, So presumably based on Medieval Brittain / Europe. Assuming Religion is Christian / Pagan.
would be cool if they add in Thirst in games that are base in this era,I mean In the Early ages they dont just drink Mead, ale or whatever alcohol beverages as common folk believe, they do drink water too as well as barley tea,Milk or some other stuff
This man not doing a second level for the main building was so irksome
16:38 I knew it!
I enjoyed your project zomboid I didn't even know you had done rimworld lol
This reminds me of stonehearth
I've got a new challenge for you. Make a video about this game without saying "rimworld"
Bit slow, but there is potential.
The UI is very similar to Oxygen not Included, very very similar. Both good games
AA,
Don't condone cannibalism.
Florida man?
Whats this game called ??? Rim world ??
there is a lot of religion in the game because it's medieval times
LOl refrigeration in medivieval times with ice... yea from all the fridges they had... if you have ice why use saw dust??? The romans knew how to do ice techique losted after the fall of Rome. But it included complex system of caves hard to do... the imperial palace could produce ice your average high noble didn't have this...
I want this
U kinda sound like Agraelus, czech streamer and youtuber lol
Are there social relationships/conversation between colonists in this game yet?
Fucking love your content mate. Keep it up.
hello
valheim rts
Nooooo how you get a key???? I been waiting on this game like waiting on my pawn to tame a thrumbo!!
the one entrance is triggering me. They literally spend half a day walking around the whole huge wall. idiotic,
hellon't
This is a 1-1 remake of rimworld with better graphics, they didnt change ANYTHING lmaooo
"Send in the cannibal to tend his wounds."
Cannibal : I will heal to the best of my ability but may I ask for your consent to eat your corpse if the worst happens.
Injured Settler : Excuse me, what?
😆🤣😂
Strange dude in the corner: Well, since you asked so nicely...
Injured Settler: What is wrong with you people? **continues watching unfolding whatthehell**
Cannibal: Oh, stranger, how kind of you to offer.
Strange dude: I may not be a sweet and juicy delicacy any more, but perhaps you could tenderize me and butter me up.
Cannibal: **Puts hand to chest and flutters eyelids** My, how forward of you. I do enjoy someone who can hold their own. Say, perhaps a wine and dine?
Injured Settler: ua-cam.com/video/woEFCFBkFRY/v-deo.html
frankly, if all cannibals were this polite, there wouldnt be such an issue
How 😢

Hey I was just curious if this is similar to any other games you've played?
yes
Possibly
2:10:00 Sorry for being a nerd, but it's actually natural for humans to sleep together with thier family or their "tribe" and most of humans used to sleep that way untill around 19th century. Even today, kids don't want to sleep alone untill we teach them otherwise. Anyway I'm glad they got that part about medival times right.
Drake's song "hate sleeping alone" was anthropologically accurate? Well I'll be.
@@TheTGOAC Drake the kinda malaker to know Medieval history.
Yes, being shunned by the tribe was once a death sentence as it was very hard to make it alone. Humans having weak bodies I believe were a huge factor in our evolution to become team players since its thought that we were a very preyed upon species in our earliest days. The world needs more nerds
Never apologize for being a nerd.
yes, it was often also an issue of warmth. Sure, you can make a fire, but fire requires tending and produces smoke. It's much better to just stack everyone together in one house and they will produce anough warmth for themselves. Farmhouses were often built in a way, that the living space was built on top of the barn so the family could benefit from the heat produced by the cattle
"But what they do crave... is BACKGAMMON."
But it's electrolytes. It's what plants crave.
Electrolytes.

So fun fact, in the middle ages room sharing was very common, in fact they often shared beds. Generally speaking if you had guests over you were supposed to quarter them in your own bedroom. As a result bedrooms were closer to what we'd consider a living room today.
The fact that they seem to like shared rooms is a very neat little detail which tells me a lot about the design philosophy of this game.
@Trizzle Hizzle There's literally a mood bonus for sleeping in shared rooms. And the fact that the game gives a bonus for shared quarters instead of a penalty means that their design leans towards the historically accurate.
Your useless comment is entirely wrong and *actually* makes no sense.
Love the content I’ve haven’t been able to catch a stream in a while.
Typically you orient the building based off of the azimuth/altitude of the sun throughout the year and the climate that you're in, as well as roof/window overhangs, openings, etc. So like for example here in Arizona, you typically want to orient your home North-East/South-West to catch as little of the harsh summer sun as possible

"You know how in Rimworld someone can lose an eye." And just this morning I finished re-binge watching the Sea Ice series where Orange _bit_ someone's eye out... "Yes, yes I do know."
Sleep competence is the ability to fall asleep under almost any circumstances or uncomfortable conditions.
Huh. Definitely getting this when it comes out. You had me at medieval kind of Rimworld.
Its not even a copy or imitation...... it has enough changes of concept and design to be its own thing, genre cannot be copied, its used as a building block just like game engine is. Also rimworld isn't even a pioneer of the genre to being with. It really annoyed me the way you were talking about this game.
Looks weirdly like runescape, plays like rimworld..... I looooove it! I had this wishlisted for a few weeks so seeing this video pop up was great
Rimscape.
Runeworld.
Just watching this now, a year and a quarter later, and I have to say it looks pretty good. The art style is good, the game elements are well thought out and the fact that they pulled off the 3D element as well as they appear to have done in the video, makes this one to check out.
I never gave i a glance in the sore upon release, now I wish that I had. Picking this up to give it a go.
i think im going to pick this up been waiting for it for quite awhile. gonna just play on peaceful mode for the major chill
58:06 Changes keybinds for drafting to R without checking if R is used for anything else.
1:18:20 Wonders why R doesn't work when trying to rotate his build order.
I love these kinds of comments
Hey amphib! Found your channel from this video and heard you talking about Rimworld... thanks for that rabbit hole haha *Subbed*
Roadmap says there will be a prisoner and vassal system...
The best rimworld mods are already installed. I like that game.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if it's a copy/imitation of Rimworld, what matters is that it improved upon the original.
The game would be nicer if they added wheelbarrows and carts. Even portable/folding wheelbarrows, which don't slow down the user when not in use, but slow down the user more when in use than the normal wheelbarrows do. The users should increase the capacy-per-second more with the permanent wheelbarrows, but portable ones would allow them to move faster than with portable ones, possibly evacuating an area before enemies get to them.
Instead of Florida, it would be a bit of a wist if you called it Flourida, from flour. Or Floorida, from being floored to be part of the colony.
51:51 you don't have *MACHICOLATIONS **_!!!_* They help you shoot enemies who are right behind the wall. Crenalations for ranged defence would also help.
We might be able to get a lot more attached to the characters, if they had faces, just like the characters in rimworld. I mean, they have hairstyles. They don't even need to add polygons for the face, just slap a face image onto the current face surface of the models, and you're good to go. Also, you might want to build more research tables, since someone else is taking over the research table.
3:02:13 You mean like tunnels, which you can dig to connect to various mini-forts all around the map, with the base side of the tunnel defended by being a mini-fort itself, or a kill-zone / zwinger?
Would be nice if, just like in a mod for Rimworld, they added the other temperatures behind square brackets. i.e. *-40 C [-40 F] [233 K]* or *-40 C [-40 F; 233 K]*
Its not even a copy or imitation...... it has enough changes of concept and design to be its own thing, genre cannot be copied, its used as a building block just like game engine is. Also rimworld is far form being the first to do colony survival. Hated this commentary so much.
Thank you for making a long play through❤️ love this content
Are you religious? Because you say god bless a lot lol
after 3 days of this the food is worst thing to control if you dont have like 1200 or more by winter you will starve :(
Gerald Williams will have a lasting impression on me. From eating worms and cabbages to deep philosophical pondering, that series will be forever in my mind. Cottleston, Cottleston Pie...
Prepare carefully has been in almost every mod list I've used since I found it, recently started a new game with the default tribals, it's quite fun going back to dealing with a half-decent group of idiots. Especially if you are like me and have used PC almost constantly otherwise.
Pawns are well known for being idiots who will attempt to get themselves killed in a variety of different ways, including (checks notes) "Marrying, and then divorcing a cyborg killing machine with bloodlust and a uranium mace."
Actually wait, I think he survived..
Then there was the guy who was hitting on someone else's wife.. and that someone else shot him in the back during the next raid. No mental break. He just saw an opportunity, and he took it. I didn't even know they did that.
They had to be separated. They sent her on a mission, traveling the world to kill all of the other factions.
Should check out shadiversity and his explanation on sharing beds in the medieval times and how it was actually a common practice.
I became a cannibal colony surviving off smoked human meat of my enemies.
It's been a while. I still feel good about this video
Ordric is always hungry... and he's a cannibal.
That should give everybody else in your village the GD creeps.
