I watch the video their chemistry top notch. I don't think the song about Taekook. But symbols of the clothes from spring day and IU wearing lip ring plus the photo booth those concept and the dining area are similar concept. Not necessarily taekook. IU’s character is deaf and taehyung’s one eye is blind. That’s why she uses sign language when they’re eating and she covered taehyung’s left eye at the end to protect it. One theory I read, the couple represents aging people who are close to death and the cube represents the inevitable death. They were reminiscing their youth through the cam recorder which is all cheerful, bright and colorful. However, the reality is not as beautiful, when it’s time for you to go, you have to go. They spent their time together loving each other until their last breath.
There is also one theory that says in that world they are being discriminated because of their differences such IU being deaf and Tae being blind in one eye, and through camera recording they see themselves as something that they are being normal and somewhat they are part of that world without feeling like they are different.

The director has spoken about the meaning and it's not about old age, but about discrimination of those not born 'perfect'. Taehyung is blind in one eye, and IU is deaf, and possibly mute as she doesn't hear or speak but uses sign for words and signals for direction. They are trying to escape the world that sees them as worthless.
So many have said this MV 'copies' the Spring Day MV, when it doesn't, it's a well known artwork that represents tragic, unnecessary loss:
The 'pile of clothes' in Spring Day was a metaphor for loss and longing; RM said it was inspired by the loss of a friend, but also the Bong Joon Ho movie 'Snowpiercer' and the book 'The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas' by Ursula K. Le Guin; and though there are links that imply a connection to the Sewol Ferry disaster, BTS have never confirmed it.
The artistic imagery of the pile of clothes BTS MV producers used in Spring Day is in homage to the artistic installation 'Personnes' by Christian Boltanski, 2010. An installation which speaks of souls who weren't ready to die, but died painfully ~ the implication being at the hands of others. In this case, in the IU MV, the 'hands' being society in the way it mocks (as in the faceless chaos of figures in the banquet scene IU and Taehyung fight off), marginalises and discriminates against those disabled or not born 'perfect' to fit in the 'normal' box (the box that is chasing them).

I've watched so many reactions of this mv and a stray comment made me look at it completely different. The apocalyptic world is the real world, society eating up idols, consuming their lives. She is deaf to the voices of her critics, (or mute: unable to speak out against this consumption) and he's blind to everyone but her. Though they desperately cling to one another they can't live in peace. They look through the lens of their video recorder and see only themselves and their love in this world. The mocking people trying to disrupt them and tear them apart are the critics, and in some cases, extreme fans. In the end, they're unable to stay in this idealized version of their life, their love persecuted and their life is once again consumed by the expectations of fans on idols.

This is some of the best acting for a long time. i do not like ending or scary movie but V acting is phenomenal i cannot wait for him to do some. he is amazing i know IU can sing and her vocals and acting i have seen some of her work but since hwarang for Tae he is block buster. better than some of these paid actors. both korean and international. make things believable. Tae is my bias it it makes me very very proud.

The pile of clothes has a deeper meaning. Originally Christian Boltanski built a pile of clothes with small piles of clothes around it and with a crane that would slowly pick up the clothes from the smaller pile and add it to the bigger one. The big pile of clothes illustrates the heaviness of all the hearts now lost. Every article of clothing symbolizes one person who died. So in the music video the clothes represent all the people who have died, that after we are gone we are all just a pile of clothes. Christian says "When the clothes are falling down its very optimistic. Like souls, they are free". So for me that makes the ending so much more profound.

Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

IU and V released a cinematic story. Resistance to hate is poetically sublimated through the music video for IU's new song 'Love Wins All'. The music video, with various symbols hidden here and there, begins with a scene where IU and V are running away from an unidentified square box. After escaping from 'Nemo' and arriving at a ruined space, the two quickly become happy, using camcorders to show each other off and eating delicious food. They dance in their wedding dresses and tuxedos and spend what seems like an eternity of endless joy.
However, Nemo's attack happens again. Once again they try to avoid it and escape, but end up accepting reality. At the end of the music video, their bodies disappear, leaving only the wedding dress and tuxedo they were wearing. Although there are many different interpretations of the long music video, director Um Tae-hwa, in charge of production, commented, 'In the music video, 'Nemo' insistently chases IU, who is deaf, and V, who is blind in one eye, implying discrimination against the main characters. It also looks like a smartphone screen that has become a gateway for the use of various unrefined words, or a painting of prejudice and hatred. Furthermore, it can be interpreted as the various forms of discrimination and oppression that permeate our everyday lives,' he said.
There are several symbols in this music video, which can be interpreted as 'a story of survival from a dystopian worldview of a person who cannot speak and sees the world only with his left eye'. If you look closely at IU's lips, you can see a small chain hanging from them, which, according to her agency, Lee Dam, signifies her difficulty fully communicating with the world. Speaking of which, V also drew attention for wearing a white lens in his left eye, symbolizing the difficulty of full communication. So what is the meaning of the video camera with which two people were filming each other? The temporal background of the video is the present, but the screen settings captured by the video camera are from a world that was fine before it became ruins. Lee Dam commented on the final scene where their bodies are annihilated by the 'squares' and only the 'clothes' they wore remain: 'It means they are free from all oppression and pressure and are free to fly. The dress and tuxedo falling from the sky also begs the question of whether the shapes considered significant and important in reality really show the true essence,' he said. Director Um Tae-Hwa said, 'The worldview itself is different and abstract from reality, so I accept various interpretations of the music video.'"
Theory: this takes place during the AI Singularity event (not related to Tae's song), the box is AI and IU and Tae are some of the last survivors trying to escape as AI hunts down every last human on Earth. Their love kept them alive for a little while, but in the end, their love for each other also got them killed as they tried to protect each other. So the emotionless robots abduct them and throw them into the pile with all the other dead humans.

I view this MV as social commentary on young love in South Korea today. They aren’t getting married like their parents did because of societal and economic pressures (the cube) is destroying them. The see what could have been on the old school camcorder and are happy, but then the reality of the cube makes it clear that they can’t achieve happiness in the old way. They will love, but differently to the end without marriage because of the cube (current society/economy).
