I chose the 8. It's a perfect 1 man castle. And when I'm feeling generous having a friend stay doesn't cramp my style.😂

The 12 person is still light, has more headroom as you mentioned, and much more floor space. We like our tents for more than sleeping so a small table/chairs look like they work in a 12
