Fun fact about the No Land Beyond, it’s a reference to famous Soviet sniper Vasily Zaytsev, particularly this quote: “For us, there was no land beyond the Volga”.
Bring back no land beyond d2
Wow good job captain obvious
@@fritzdaddy-135mmgetstagger4 I know that’s your opinion, but please shut up and let people enjoy this fact
@@fritzdaddy-135mmgetstagger4 so because you knew something that means everyone knew it?
@@fritzdaddy-135mmgetstagger4 yeah cause that's totally common knowledge that's everyone obviously knows... FOH with that bullshit
i love how this series went from "exotics that arent in d2" to heres a nostalgia trip of every exotic
Nostalgia and just to show how powerful the weapons and armor were compared to d2 gear i promise if they did stuff like this in d2 they would have more then 1.5m people playing per day insanely strong gear leave the balancing out of pve and focus it only on pvp.
I kind of hate it ngl, I would have preferred he stuck to his guns or at least had a consistent idea for the series :/
@@brooksmanis7782 you mean exotic weapons..? The only exotic weapon that is even remotely op compared to d2 is gjally. Pretty much everything in d2 is leagues above d1 in power and it's kinda struggling with it. There's no variety because of how powerful they are in d2
@@novamorph d2 now has gjally now too
The pocket infinity is basically what we all thought the vex mythoclast would do when we first found out about it, I remember my 360 would crash just using the pocket infinity
It was also consistently the most broken weapon in the entire game
I think the spiritual replacement of Pocket Infinity is Merciless.
@@jme-james no telesto
@@hastyhawkeye tf are you talking about? Telesto acts nothing like pocket infinity and telesto was in the first game with pocket infinity.
@@jme-james just how it was busted before nerf
Just want to point out that Devrim is hogging the No Land Beyond all for himself
Yeah and the stupid clankers get twilight garrison
Damn, thats a huge deadflag
And shaxx is still hogging Raze Lighter
@@ut7746 … wait, you have a point
@@sorina9130 DID YOU SAY CLAKA WITH A HARD R???
a moment of silence for the exotic class items... rip...
seems kinda pointless
@@peabrain6872 Not really, D1 was more of a completion game than a competitive one.
@@peabrain6872 you obviously never earned them lol you could still have another exotic on
@@BSUxFAN29 i didnt play dee won and i never will
@@peabrain6872 then don't say shit about it then
No backup plans, radiant dance machines, nothing manacles, and Gjallarhorn: Guess who's back? Back again?
Watching this reminds me of how good d1 was. There were so many useless guns and armor that came into their own in very specific circumstances. This made special loadouts and play styles feel rewarding. I remember running headfirst into a full trials team, die, then res and blinding everyone into a won round and a whole lot of laughing
D2 is better in just about every way
@@peabrain6872 name checks out
@@warcriminalvids no it doesnt
@@warcriminalvids D2 is literally way better
@@peabrain6872 Its not comparable just on the basics of mechanics alone, progression systems between d1 and d2 are entirely different, some people do prefer the season pass model yeah, so it can be good for having a reason to come back for each season. But alot of issues with d2 arent even with the game itself, Destiny 2 feels good to play and plays fine, alot of the time they make content super disposable and dont provide alot of incentive to do it. Stuff like crown of sorrows on the moon is still available, but realistically there's no reason for me to do that activity, the gear that was there is obtainable other ways and its sunset. However with D1 older content like Prison of Elders was continually updated to be relevant later on. Thats not me saying I blindly hate d2, it does some cool shit like dungeons, its just bungie has shafted alot of cool progression and loot chase incentives that were super satisfying in D1
Icebreaker has not been forgotten. Still lives in my head rent free. Hopefully one day the no backpack perk gets revived in the future at least
I would love to have both the first curse and young wolf’s howl back I loved using then
*Strokes Pocket Infinity*
"One day... some day..."
I'm fairly sure that plan c was my first exotic. It still has a special place in my heart.
i got it every time i did crotas end n it pissed me off so much
It was my first one too, got it from the death singer encounter in cortas end
At least half of these weapons would be great in D2. I miss my Invective sooo much. 😔
NO. NO MORE WEAPONS THAT CIRCUMNAVIGATE THE AMMO ECONOMY. WE HAVE TOO MUCH SPECIAL WEAPON USAGE AS IT IS.
@@coreywilson3493 tbh i feel like a lot of the weapons and armor that haven't made it to d2 should stay in d1 they were already balanced in d1 no need to nuke them even further.
@@brooksmanis7782 tbh most guns came back to destiny 2 stronger and or way more balanced.
I also miss the invective, Damn Ikora and other main characters hogging our D1 Exotics.
@@polaroideternalhaven8671 I mean to be fair it was hers for a few hundred years before us and even before we were around lol. And it was broken during the Red War.
Your a legend for this
aha ty :)
Aside from Ice Breaker, being my favorite exotic, I really really liked the Boolean Gemini. It was a very solid scout and was satisfying to use. That one definitely needs a come back.
I really miss First Curse, wrecked shop in crucible with it, after that first kill you had scout rifle range with hand cannon damage. I used it a lot in PVE as well. Such a good gun, but we'll never get it in D2 with the range it is, closest we'll get is Eriana's.
It was the only 110/120 that I've ever liked. Such a solid HC and I wish they'd bring it back
This video just reminds me how much I miss playing D1.
Somehow mained “mask of third man” and almost exclusively used gunslinger, and still managed to do the raids. What a young 14 year old blueberry I was
holy mother, the mask of the third man was my absolute favourite helmet in D1 just because its looks
Necrochasm and outbreak prime are my two favorite exotics and I'm really hoping necro makes a return during witch queen and it isn't some divinity length quest.
Same I loved necrochasm
As much as no one used it, it was a great PvE weapon.
We should have Exotic Cloaks in D2 for activities like Strikes, Trials, and Raids to increase you chances of getting a weapon with 2 Perks in one column, or to drastically increase you reputation ranking for continuous win streaks
I miss playing Destiny 1 with a bunch of friends
i saw the section for the zhalo supercell and immediately thought of some old destiny meme of Zavala's face photoshopped on the gun and a caption reading "Zavalo Supercell"
Damn, Light Beyond Nemesis, one of my main helms. Lack luster effect but a must have for aesthetic reasons alone.
❤️😭 I’ve never forgotten you invective ❤️😭 I miss you baby ❤️😭
Ice breaker was my first exotic. Wasn’t until later that I found out about how good it is in raids lol
My go to for oracles in vog
We need more exotic swords!! Legend or exotic we need more
5:46 i remember how happy I was when a friend told me ur had it and he knew that this was my favorite exotic and improved it i was so so so happy on that day
All of these need to make a return honestly.
Thanks for this massive nostalgia trip, making me want to go grab the xbone from the attic and boot up d1
Nobody talkin bout how he accidentally tabbed out in the achlyophage (?) symbiote gameplay lmao 🤣 . Great content, love these forgotten D1 gear vids :)
Thyme is wasn't forgotten about, its back... the Sirens of the Crucible, the Staple of Raids, the Most (In)Famous heavy rocket is coming back!
Armamentarium also gave increased heavy or special ammo in D1
Quick thing to say: The reason why there were exotic versions of primary raid weapons that came out with Age Of Triumph back in D1 was mainly for Elemental Primaries again, since they hadn't existed since Y1.
Boolean Gemini's exotic perk was actually selectable. It was either bonus agility on precision kills or bonus resilience on non-precision kills. Also Super Good Advice would return 100% of hit shots to the mag as well as having a chance to return missed ones.
Fun Fact: In my 5 years of playing destiny with 5 different characters with a total of 2 accounts, I never got the icebreaker. Not once. I always missed it from Xur too.
Red Death was a subject to D2's handcannon fetish as we've seen as we get SO MANY every season and expansion. And we got so many exotic ones too! And why the fuck did supercell turn into an smg.. that truly unique bizarre model, a bullpup AK generator clusterfuck was SO good!
i saw glasshouse on the thumbnail and knew i had to watch, literally my fave exotic ever
I really want light beyond nemesis back but with a new perk. I love the design of that helmet.
Boolean Gemini main thing was not the kill bonus but the fact that it could be swapped between 2 scout archetypes, hence the "Gemini" part of the name.
2:31 "I am the spy."
I still remember when my brother did a little bit of grinding and got some cool exotics in year 1, he shared them with me using the vault thing and basically i got gjallarhorn and suros regime pretty early (we played destiny on same xbox account, but we used different characters. my brother was a titan and i was a warlock).
7:28 the most powerful leg armor in existence. Just don’t put anything of value on your knees when wearing them.
I remember how busted the Pocket Infinity was before it's nerf way back when D1 was still new. You were pretty much guaranteed ammo return on every shot if you missed and could fire constantly for a good 5 to 8 seconds.
I miss my voidfang vestments 😭
Pocket infinity was my baby back in vanilla d1. Don’t even want them to bring it back since it’ll be watered down and I just wanna remember it in all it’s glory
An exotic hunters cloak?!!! Bro, we need one in Destiny 2!
If I remember correctly, transversive steps would also increase glimmer gains from dead minions of the darkness
Once I got The Ram on my Warlock, I don't think I ever took it off
No backup plans and dance machines:IM BACK BABY AND I MORE BROKEN IN D2
Just wanted to point out that the reason all of the raid weapons became exotic was because they were the only weapons in the game (at that time) that had burns on them as primaries
At that time meaning during the taken king and after since the original burn primaries got taken out once all of the raids got raised to the new light level
Oh man, i was a bubble saint 14 red death titan and it worked too well for both pve and pvp. Pve was a breeze cause i could kill so fast and bubble was pretty great. Pvp i could hold my own till i got shotgun ammo so i could skate around, then use the bubble to essentially cancel most enemy supers, either by catching their super inside (mainly titan slams, though i once caught a nova bomb by placing the bubble down around it and catching it. Saved my team that way. Woulda been a 6 man wipe, but instead only killed one titan) or just blocking it out. Couple that with some secondary perks and man, i was a killing machine. I made pve enemies quake in their boots and pvp enemies quit. And best of all, i became the resident bubble titan for several groups i played with at the time. Sure we ran raids with other titans and even bubble titans, but if they needed it done right they asked me.
I really miss destiny 1, man. It was ridiculous, but it was fitting because the world of destiny is ridiculous.
I will NEVER forget about No Land Beyond.
If Bungo ever brought Twilight Garrison back, they could quite easily tie it to the Arc 3.0 Thruster dodge, allowing said ability to be used mid-air for a similar effect, but without the extra timer.
I loved light beyond nemesis always loved the look of it too
There are a fair bit of exotics here that are in D2, like I have Claws of Ahamkara, I use them all the time and the effect is still the same, obsidian minds effect became the rams effect in D2.
Thanks for the list! Back in the day my first exotic weapon became sort of a meme with my friend group...
Because it was Gjallarhorn, and I got it from a legendary heavy engram! 😂
Class😂
I love to see all these exotic be in D2, the ones that haven't been in D2 yet, but does not take away anything or any new exotics that would be add to D2, so yeah
Here’s to hoping we see several more of these old gems back one day
Never played D1 so seeing all of the old exotics shows me how much of a different game D1 and D2 are. Who would need enhanced zoom with a golden gun? Really some of these exotics are just dumb or broken sounding like ruin wings.
Hello fellow smallen
@@idioticguardians9797 good evening to you hatchling.
Things I really miss:
Aclyiophage symbiote (probably spelled wrong)
Don't touch me gauntlets
Kepri sting
Tarantula chest
Bones boots
Red death
Zalo supercell
Necrochasm
Khvostov (definitely spelled wrong)
NO LAND BEYOND (favorite weapon of all time)
Word of Crota
Ice Breaker (God please bring this back)
Did anyone else see this and start have major nostalgic fellings
She knew what she was doing when she said longer, more powerful lol
Oh how I miss you icebreaker
hot take but I honestly think D1 was WAY more fun than D2 currently is. From Trials to the amazingly stupid exotics and the single best part of all about D1 was the subclass customization. Sure there were the meta sheep that would just google "best subclass" and spec whatever was there without a thought but the active decision to get more agility or intelect or using some very niche nodes were hella fun. Also exotic armor giving free nodes were great because you could mix nodes from the same column. God it was so much fun.
NLB + any sidearm was my absolute favorite combo. Doing sprint reload cancels on NLB, using sidearms to kill shotgun sliders. Fuck, this makes me feel like a boomer.
Yeah the customization in D1 is probably the single biggest thing that's missing in D2 for me. The exotics were also just better.
I miss Gary’s so much if we got that chest piece back I would never take it off
Agreed
When you think about it, where do you actually hold the Touch of Malice? The whole gun is covered in a cloth besides the dagger at the front and the orb/sight
My guess is the cloth covers the grip.
I can’t wait for Gjallarhorn’s return in December. I wish they would bring back Young Wolf’s Howl too.
So many good ones that should be brought forward!
I loved the first curse I hope they bring it back.
Bro radiant dance machines are forever in my memory I’ve been wanting them to return forever. They were my main exotic in D1 and not having them hurts they just made dueling free especially with a sniper you could just glide by with a one shot weapon lol and don’t even get me started on LW
well do I have news for you lmao
Awesome video mayn, love your videos
That's amazing how a lot of D1 exotics would be completely broken in D2 with today's standards, yet PvP wasn't the rooting corpse it is now, it was one of the finest game mode I ever played.
Can we all agree that seeing a man walking towards you with a knife vs a pole dancer the knife is more terrifying
Super Good Advice will forever live in my heart!
You forgot about The Fate Of All Fools scout rifle :)
I would really like to see a return of Red Death, it had to be my favorite exotic in D1. Did a lot to keep me alive in high level content. Also D1 Sleeper was also hella fun.
Red death = Destiny 2's Crimson exotic hand Cannon
I miss my red death.. Heck, I even have two oranments for it.
Bolt Caster is and always will be my favorite sword
Oh yeah I remember the mandatory gjallarhorn requirement for what felt like every single activity ever, like none of them actually needed it, but it became something people just mandated because it was so good.
It was so frustrating because my rng at the time was god awful so I didn't get it until way later than everyone else.
Universal Remote was my first exotic weapon in Destiny. Used it for VOG and obtained no backup plans.
I miss that shotgun.
Touch of Malice would be nuts now with healing rifts/well
I remember D1 transversive steps being pretty good at vosik if you had a rocket launcher. Get a few purple bricks in front of the DPS spot and run over them to get a few shots of gjallarhorn off without reloading
You combined Nothing Manacles and Impossible Machines into one exotic known as the "Nothing Machines" lol
The taken king exotic class items were so cool to me I never took them off
Two of these "forgotten exotics" I use daily in D2. Alpha Lupi and Armamentarium are two of my go to. This must be old
I thing for thunderlords catylist it should be able to switch elements so it can be the all three of the weapons
0:45 so that helm makes your fist of havoc look like the Thurdercrash’s melee ability
FoH used to be a once and done shut down sorry back then where it only did the same initial slam animation that you see when you first pop FoH in D2 today. It did waaay more damage and had a much bigger aoe, though, so it was at least a very reliable shut down. Problem was, you had to let people get really close. Launching yourself from above would sometimes like you get that extra a distance you really needed to make a play, especially on outdoor maps.
Love how they gave multiple exotics from titans, to warlack as normal abilities.
lmao it's crazy I used to be a titan main in D1 but I remember using the chest piece that gave me two air dodges now I'm a warlock main in D2 and yeah they completely screwed titans over lol 😂 it was fun tho especially on Titan since titans are less mobile
Purifier Robes are the only reason I got my first flawless in Trials back in D1
Twilight Garrison, No Land, Invective, Touch of Malice, YWH, SGA, Gjally, and (maybe with changes) Ice Breaker should be brought back imo. First Curse and Fabian Strategy as well (hopefully with slightly better visuals)
We need exotic class items back. Either in their D1 form by basically just being a cool thing that can be matched with other exotics, or with actual exotic effects
Other exotics we need back:
Hunter
Bones of Eao
Khepri's Sting
Achlyophage Symbiote
Titan
Glass House
Ruin Wings
Twilight Garrison
Warlock
Obsidian Mind
The Ram
Voidfang Vestments
Weapons
The First Curse
The Boolean Gemini
Fabian Strategy
Necrochasm
Khvostov
Tlaloc
Dreg's Promise
Hereafter
No Land Beyond
Trespasser
Super Good Advice
I hope that with the reworking of the light subclasses in D2 coming in the year of the witch queen that we see some of these return. Immolation Fists and the Thagomisers were some of the best gauntlets in the game. Praying for the return of sunspots and explosive pyre with immolation fists
This video made me realize just how much exotic armor there was in d1 and how much more we need in d2
So he talked about khovostov having customizable perks but didn’t mention Boolean Gemini was the first exotic to let you customize your perks???? The gun could literally let you survive a sniper headshot
6:19 For along time in D1 I didnt really understand why exotics were so special, and when I played warlock I got this chest piece and never took it off cause it looked really cool.
I miss necrochasm… I know there are multiple exotics now that do what it did, but it really was unique
The Prodigal hood in D2 is just a reskin of obsidian mind.
Looking back on d1 I never realised how many exotics that didn’t get carried over would be op in this meta
15:13 I mean, He technicaly got his wish...
I don't think you ever mentioned the sun break mark
