    Fabulous video. Don't bother buying shop bought patterns you always have to cut bits off and trial and error. My advice is get an old top you don't wear anymore and take it apart, draw round the shapes add on your seam allowance. It might seem like that's a lot of work not really because you will have a garment that fits you no messing about and a pattern for life. You can use parcel paper from B&M to draw your garment on.

    Hi Tina, I love the fabric of your top but definitely looks like you need to go down a couple of sizes for the top half, but as you said Mum will know and I’m sure she’d be pleased to help with the knowledge she has 😊

    I'd really like to learn sewing. I don't dare trying to saw clothes though. For now I am experimenting with project bags and I am planing to try some small quilting projects like potholders etc. The colour of the fabric fits you really well! Till next time 🥰🪴🧵🪡🧶

    Hi, Joy Bernhardt has a video how to adjust the pattern piece for this pattern. I have made it and don't like it. I think it's because it's just too simple. Something with darts shaping and drapier fabric might give you the result you are looking for. xx

    Few ways you can you can try to fix it. Pin the corrections you would like and make a new pattern or do what you said. ...or go down 2 sizes and grade to correct bust, waist and hip size.

    @suecoles7824 5 місяців тому

    Sorry Tina I’m no sewer either😕 ? Would it help to have some bust darts? Maybe pin the area that are the problem and see what could be done to change it? Smaller size but can’t be too small if there is not going to be an opening to get it off & on, your Mum will know exactly what you need to do 😊 the air fryer Yorkshire is another ball game I’m sure there are tip on UA-cam, see you Tuesday all being well 🤗 Suze. I've seen youtube videos where they show you how to make a pattern for a shirt you already own without taking it apart. I don't have anyone in particular to recommend. If you have any left over Christmas Paper, you can use that to draw your pattern on since it's a nice size.

    I had the same problem with the same pattern. The neck is way to wide...bra straps fully revealed. I've seen comments that narrower shouldered ladies should choose the pattern size by their upper bust measurement rather than their full bust measurement then ease out to the correct hip measurement. I've been too nervous to give it a go...perhaps your mum can advise both of us? 😆

    Loved your material choice for your dip into sewing. It looked great until you showed it with your cardi. Is is possible to pleat the front from top to bottom with faux buttons? What about a white lacy cardi with your red dress? Take care🤗

    Yeah, Tina's sewing again. My suggestions for fit would be, use your upper bust measurement for the top half grading out to the larger size on the bottom half. Also a drapier fabric would sit around your neckline better. I thought your dinner looked very nice. I use 4oz plain flour, pinch of salt, 2 eggs and 1/4 pint of 1/2 milk, 1/2 water to make Yorkshire puddings. I don't have an airfryer. Do you have to get drawer really hot before adding batter like you would a roasting tin? Sweet Peas are very pretty flowers and smell gorgeous. X

    Lovely to see you. That top is gorgeous I love the fabric, I love to dress make but I hate cut out the fabric - I need someone to do that for me!! Remember dress patterns sizes are never true to your size - a good person to watch is Sian from Kittenish Behaviour- she explains a lot about sizing patterns
    But an excellent piece of sewing well done.
    Xx

    Hi Tina, the Yorkshire pudding looks a bit like the USA French toast, just pour syrup on it. Your shirt, well I love the fabric choice indeed, now the neck, I would pleat it and sew on a little button, then it will appear as if it was to look like that. Now listen, I can’t sew to save my life, my great aunt Margaret willed her sewing machine, I must force myself to learn, so I can do the basics anyway. Have a great work week

    Well Tina when you served the Toad in the Hole my mouth was watering !!!!!!! ok so it is not fluffy & therefore not as crisp but look at the roasted potatoes & the lovely Broccoli !!! The fabric for your top is really lovely, I only sew tops in Jersey fabric because they always fit perfectly !! Look how green your garden is, we are heading into Winter here in Tasmania !!

  • @juliejealous632
    @juliejealous632 5 місяців тому

    Hi Tina, lovely fabric choice for your top. I definitely think you need to make a smaller size and possibly, as you say, 2 sizes smaller for the bust and then grade out to 1 size smaller for your waist and hips. You could definitely fix that one with a pleat at the neckline to make it fit better. I'm not trained like your mum so she would certainly give you the best advice but I always have to grade between sizes to make things fit me! In my case it's the joys of having a big bum!!! See you next time xx

    Garment construction is tricky. Make sure you adjust your pattern pieces once you figure out where a tuck needs to be. I would rather make something new than alter a garment. Love the flowers on your blouse fabric.

    I like the sweater you wore at the beginning 💙 looks like Gary drown the pudding ‘flying saucer” in thick syrup..wow! 😅 you could do a snap to pull in your neckline of your sewn blouse.
