Hey Tina! I completely understand about the Tee. If I don't like it, I won't wear it and there is just no point in spending all the time to make it just to shove it in a drawer. I think the yarn will make a pretty scarf. I do wonder, though, if blocking would have affected how your stitching looked in the Tolsta. But you know best. If you don’t like it enough to wear it, totally worth changing course!

It's a Flax sock yarn by Tincan knits . No garter on the sleeves , no sleeve shaping just decreases before the cuff . I knit mine in Drops Nord - Goldenrod 😁
I agree with you Tina, the tighter gauge looked better! Making a scarf instead it's a great alternative in my opinion. It hasn't crossed my mind that people don't wear scarves anymore, I still do, am I out of fashion? 😲😜 Have fun planting your flowers and looking forward to seeing you again 🥰🌺🌼🪴🧶
Muggles ( non- knitters) wear scarfs , UA-cam knitters wear shawls and cowls from what I see 😁 I think a scarf is much easier to wear than a shawl. The Steven. West ones are sometimes more a work of art than a wearable garment. I love the one I knit but I only wear it over my shoulders in bed or when I'm ill for comfort . It is super cosy 😁

So sorry that your Tolsta Tee didn't work out. I completely finished the stitching on mine yesterday and I'm now weaving in ends. I have a lot because I did striping but it's going pretty well. My yarn is a 90% cotton/10% cashmere and the woven ends seem to want to come undone. All I can do is hope for the best. Your scarf is looking great and yes I think I see a little twinkle of hope in Vixen's eyes that there will be leftover yarn for her. 🙂
Yes I've found that cotton yarn doesn't like staying weaved in . I always leave the ends a little longer because I have had to redo them later on . Knowing Vixen she will hide a ball of yarn to make sure there is enough 👙🦊😂
As usual, your so delightful to visit with. What a time with the jumper Tina, as I watched you I had a beginning of huge granny square started, and I became annoyed that for the second time I started on the wrong end of the yarn, poof I obviously cut it some how so I was attempting to make the square with only 4 feet 😂😂😂 I have to laugh at myself, I am awaiting Sara, my local yarn store to get in my yarn for Dorothy the Mouse, yes, I went and got the book, they are all so lovely, but Dorothy want to come live here, to make trouble on my cat 😸 whom is nicknamed “Snappy” she has a bad attitude.

I’ve had times when I had to remind myself that every yarn has its own project. Sometimes it’s just not meant for the project you planned it for and it’s ok to repurpose it to something else. Thank you for sharing your journey with this yarn as it’s so relatable to me 😊
I don’t think cotton lays as nice as wool. I’ve been very interested in the cotton merino though. Funny enough, when I watch knitting videos of people making loads of sweaters but wonder why they never actually wear them. I love that you do. ❤
Tina, the darker hair color suits you and also the color of your Whitmore pullover. I thought about knitting a Tolsta tee might be in my future or another tee with a saddle sholder.
I saw so many great things about the Tolsta and bought the pattern. I hated the gauge and also doing short rows and left/right increases was just too much. So I never made one. Look forward to seeing the bikini x
Aw, the yarn didn't pass the audition, not like it didn't try its hardest. LOL. Thanks for discussing how plans get changed, revised, updated & sometimes just discarded. I am not as confident with my knitting as I am with my crocheting. Quilting is the same, I will audition fabrics galore and then end up with something completely different. Thank goodness I have my cross stitch to always satisfy me..... 🙃

A long scarf is nice. I like to wrap them around my head and neck (babushka look 😂). Knit whatever you like. 😊

Just a thought for your scarf. You could knit it in the round so it will then be double thick and lay flat.
