Show was great. But removing the beheading scene of the Imam at the mosque was disappointing. That scene in the book was raw, tooth and nail to the death fighting. Savage.
Show was great. I thought the changes to Ben where very good. Saved his soul. Changes to his family living longer was better too. But I think Lauren should of went out shooting like in the book.
These were the only fiction books ive even read, and love them. So i was concerned about the show. 3 episodes in and it found its footing. Very happy to see the eye gouge as the first h2h move. Take note hollywood
*spoilers* The ending in the book was so different than the show.... I also don't remember them stating that Katie and James parents knew each other....
Show was great. A little disappointed they changed the ending but I thought their ending was still good. Definitely can’t wait to see them make True Believer into a season.
Not that much, and some changes were actually good imo. I liked how the female senator wasn't one dimensional greedy bitch like in the books but actually a somewhat conflicted character. Also the tv version of Ben felt better. I didn't like the hallucinations though, they were kinda annoying and unnecessarily slowed the pacing.
@@happzy A lot was changed, but a lot of it made sense, I'm re-reading the book, and almost every single bad guy is different in the show, but it makes sense because the show doesn't have time to delve into each bad guy like the book did, Katie and James' relationship is super weird in the show, but I'm sure it will evolve through the seasons
@@zach1972 Actually Katie made more sense to me in the show. In books they sorta made her a new love interest which considering he just lost his family was weird. In the show shes more professional and thus more believable.
I really liked the change where they introduced the phycological thriller aspect. The Mexican gang bangers randomly shooting up the suburban house of a navy seal who is in the news was a bit of a plot hole that would have screamed “cover up” to the public. Making it look like Reece did it himself motivated by PTSD really fits the story better and also adds excitement and tension for any viewers who don’t already know the ending.
My only issue with this, is that in the end...it was still the gangbangers, instead they looked like super pro assassins? Their entire plan fell apart when Reece was attacked in the hospital office, because now they have a direct timeline for him not being at the home when the shooting took place, to be honest, neither the book nor the show makes sense on this part
In the show, the men who killed his wife and daughter were supposed to be sicarios. Sicarios are assassins or hit men. Not just gangbangers. I don’t think that the timeline being slightly off wouldn’t matter too much with the lead agent on the case being part of the cover-up.
@@zach1972 they said the time of death could only be narrowed down to half an hour so they thought either Reece was telling the truth or he killed his family and then drove to the dr and killed them directly after

Show was great. I thought Katie's ending was weak tho compared to the book... no det cord, no how did you know he wouldn't detonate the bomb question..

Man I was just saying the same thing after finishing the show. That part of the book was amazing.

too many hallucinations, but still bad ass
Ya they went a lil overboard with those lol
I'd have liked a blonde Katie though

I like the show but the Book is light yrs better.
I watched the show , now to read the book . I imagine the book is better
books are better quite a lot has changed from the book to the show which ruins quite a lot of the story lines in the show
Book (s) are much better.
“no plan survives first contact”
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face…
I’d say they changed a lot

@@happzy The one change I really hated was with Katie Burnick. They just made her kind of stupid
@@captainuseless2120 and why is she Asian? Lol

Making katie asian is a little weird considering how important her backstory and heritage is in the books
I would like to know about the initiation device on the trip wire? How was it described in the book ? and did the book call it a IED? or a booby trap?
In the book they were on a mountain if I remember correctly. Totally different scene
That entire scene doesn't take place in the book
Lvl 8 🤣
According to Spinal Tap, it should go to 11
