I can't wait until July 1st! I signed up for prime specifically for this series. Keep up the good work. Good luck with everything you do in the future.
Break out the puppy pads. Negative reviews being sung in the key of BIIIIIIIITTTTTCCCCCCHHHHHH! Keep up the great writing Mr. Carr. And the gear reviews!
Jack I'm currently a truck driver (prior service Marine POG), so I plowed through your whole series in about a week or so. I was screaming "NOO! NOOOOO!" at the close of In the Blood.....one of the best series I've listened to by far. Absolutely stoked about the series and wish there were 5 more books already available! Keep doin what you're doing sir, it's outstanding.
Man the gun talk is one of my favorite things about these books! Also super unique when it comes to books nowadays in general...please keep up the great work! Can't wait for July 1st!
I love the details you put into the gear that’s used, helps me understand and visualise what he’s using. Everyone talks about products so why can’t characters do that in books, makes them more real.
I don't understand these "too boring" reviews. I flew through this book in 3 or 4 days. It was great. I do agree that you should definitely start with "The Terminal List" and read them in order.
"In the Blood" is a great novel; I couldn't put it down. I think you're really starting to show your mastery as an author, there were several different parts of this book that I had this thought. I like that you're rhetorical motives are beginning to become more complex as it seems that you are beginning to become more comfortable as an author; there's less predictability in reading your novels this way. The research definitely shows in the past two novels, it is much appreciated as I'm well aware of how much work researching is. My favorite book series! Looking forward to reading what comes next.
@JackCarrUSA - Another great book!! Wife and I went in to have an induction for the birth of our daughter. I read the entire book in one day waiting on her birth!! My wife wasn’t too happy, but it’s our 3rd kid…haha Keep it up!
The product placement and details are what really got me into the books. Really gets you into the story when you can picture exactly what's being used.
I'm probably your atypical reader being a woman, no military experience, and over 55! But I absolutely love your books and In The Blood was a little different but just as enjoyable as the previous novels. I have been impatiently waiting for the Amazon series since the day you announced they were going to produce it. It's been a grueling wait but now it's just around the corner! I agree Chris Pratt was a perfect choice to play Reece. I initially started military thrillers starting with Mitch Rapp. I didn't really get into them though until I started reading on my tablet Kindle app which opened up a whole new world in this genre for me. The ability to highlight different weapons, aircraft, ect right in the app and then doing a quick web search right from the book really deepened my understanding and appreciation for all of those things which really enhanced the story. Now I have my husband hooked on all the authors in this genre that I love reading. As to the bad reviews. I follow a FB page called Military Thrillers that is made up of authors and beta/arc readers like me. One of the things they talked about was the dirty trick of authors, some famous and others hoping to be, leaving negative reviews on books that are best sellers or primarily e-books doing well especially on Amazon. Most, if not all, of the reviews you read seem to fit in that category. Just my 2 cents. Anyways, can't wait for July 1st and your next book!!
I’m with you on this, I’m 51 and also not your atypical reader being a woman but I love Jacks books. His podcast has got me onto lots of other books as well due to the guests he has on or books talked about on the podcast. I think if your not into these types of stories then don’t read and don’t review. I think there are people out that just do negative reviews which means they must have very sad lives to waste the only life you have doing such negative stuff. Just my opinion.
Not everyone is going to like everything, just the way it is! Me, I thought the plot and how it developed was awesome, great book man! Can’t wait for the series to start, if fact I’m re-reading Terminal List again to see how close the series comes to the book.
Just finished this one, and currently reading Only The Dead. Personally, In The Blood is my favorite so far. Every time I get to the next book, it becomes my next favorite. I can see the writing and plot and dynamics improving through the series, and I'm super impressed. I know one of your many goals is to make each one better than the last, and mission accomplished. Absolutely Captivating.
Now this is funny! Love your sense of humor with the negative comments. James Patterson always says he’ll never kill off Alex Cross because he’s the money maker. So don’t kill off James Reece anytime soon. 🤓
Just finished The Terminal List book last night. I constantly told my wife how good it was. We are both stoked to watch the series! Can't wait! Thank you for your service.
I like your character James Reece his dedication to service and he gets to do things i have thought about when i was in the field in the service in vietnam. So i get to live vicariously through James Reece. I also like how loyal Reece is to his friends and the mission. Jack thank you for your service.
I started streaming this at around 8am this morning and I havent moved since. I've just finished watching the whole 8 part series and I am absolutely blown away. The script, the acting, the cinematography, the gun play and the action sequences were off tap, even the score with a little black sabbath and Iron Maiden thrown in (How fking epic is that lol). Incredibly spot on. I watch alot of Military movies and most times they way Navy Seal operators are portrayed seem off to me. They make these dudes out to look like their invincible when that couldn't be further from the truth. These men have a conscience, they fear and love just as deeply as anyone else. I appreciated the fact that we could see this with our main protagonist. Also the movements of how our operators were choreographed from room clearance to recon or gathering intel as well as being in a fire fight were so close to the real thing, and its obvious this was done to showcase how professional frogmen conduct themselves during a conflict of sorts. Chris Pratt delivered a stellar performance in his gripping role as James Reece and his supporting stars helped to amplify an intense aura about the show simultaneously as your watching. Antoine Fuqua has yet again delivered a master class and this will go down in the echelons of Training Day and Shooter to name a few. Just brilliantly well crafted. This series is not for the faint of heart and in saying so its no surprise left wing nutcases who would rather choose to sit and watch Joe Biden sniff hairs at a mardi gra parade find this gem unsettling. Its hard for people like that to understand the dynamics of a brother hood with an unwritten code to protect each other and the ones they love and completely dedicate themselves to honoring that code. This series for me is a 10/10 in my book. Well done Jack Carr and everyone else that brought this legendary story to the big screen.
I love that you drop products and brands throughout your books. It gives the story depth, relatability and authenticity. I also love that you give a nod to the products you love and trust - also supporting a lot of companies that may be considered “woke” by the mainstream media. As far as the book, it was probably my favorite of the series so far. I would say your most important review would be “#1 NY Times Bestseller!”
I loved this book so much. I feel like each entry in the series, the characters become more real, interact more effortlessly...the books have matured to a point where they paint such a good picture and speak in such a clear voice, that I can't put them down. In the Blood gripped me immediately.....and for the record, the firearm characterization and kit talk is great. Keep it up.
I don’t hold it against right-wing writers for putting their politics into their fiction. The fact is, this genre is made up predominantly of people on the right. As a left-wing guy, my way of responding to is writing my own novels. Easier said than done, but getting published is a goal I’m working toward. Keep on writing, Jack. Your success inspires me to keep trying, even if we disagree on almost everything lol
I just finished In the Blood yesterday. The only thing I did not like about it was that it ended. I loved it, Jack. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for book 6. Keep them coming, brother.
I'll back you on everything except the BRCC , I'm an Invader Coffee drinker for a reason. Your books are awesome so far , got the 1st. 4 at a Goodwill made it through 1 and a half so far. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Book is Five Fucking Stars Jack. The worst part was the Quantum Computer part. That is so scary to even think about. I had to remember that you made that up. The best part was the underwater knife fight with the Half Face Dive knife. Thanks.
WTH did that reviewer think when he decided to read a novel that was written by a Navy Seal? Perhaps he was browsing his local Barnes & Noble and took too long of a sip from his caramel latte and wound up eight rows from the Shirley MacLaine isle.
Mr. Carr, I have read all of your previous novels and I am going to pick this one up soon. Am a huge fan, please keep writing and I will keep reading!! Thanks!!
Just like the previous books in the series, once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see Chris Pratt portray James Reece and can't wait for the next book. Keep up the good work!
I loved In the Blood, it was a great way to transition into the next chapter in James Reece saga. The fact you could go either way: deep sci fi through the looking glass. Or a prison break! Or both! The romance was a nice touch, and the mk ultra history was a great way to tell a story within a story, within a story. Truly brilliant Jack Carr! -Jared (A tactical response Alumni)
I love Jack's response to these clowns. They clearly have zero ability to conceive of how military people talk and interact. Keep crushing it Jack, you are a legend.
Got to love someone who is a Ferris Bueller fan! Everyone who read the preceding books knew In The Blood would be doing a wrap of this portion of the James Reece saga with the death of his nemesis. The fights were intense, and expected. You don’t read a Jack Carr book without seeing the gear and acknowledgements of what’s used and who gifted it. Being book five, you got to be doing something right. My book arrived late courtesy of postal service, finished it. Review forthcoming. I loved the finish and intro for the Reece tale to come.
Jack, Love the shameless plugs in the reading of your neg reviews. That is a perfect example of how to approach the critics. Good times! Keep them coming! Cheers!
This is from a recent negative review of The Terminal List TV Show… “...we're served up huge helpings of red-meat masculinity, hardheaded jingoism and heavy-handed symbolism. (Oh, and lots and lots of American flags.)" Okay, I’m definitely watching it now if the “critics” hate it 😂
I found this book series solely from looking for books on Audible narrated by Ray Porter (fantastic narrator) and saw the crazy good reviews all the books had. Only to download The Terminal List and see Chris Pratt’s face on the cover and find out it’s going to be a series. I just started book 3 and can’t stop listening. Instant fan!
I loved the book. In my opinion it was the best in the series in terms of non-stop action while progressing the story enough to set up the next book. The little secrecy throughout and the big cliffhanger on the end leaves me on the edge for the next one! Giving us inside into the gear he uses and let the former seals talk & joking about it actually grounds it in reality for me.
I appreciate the Ferris Bueller reference. But idk what books these “reviewers” read, you’re work is awesome and that’s why it’s a streaming series with the awesome Chris Pratt on Prime Video July 1st.
To the "too much product placement" guy: Did you write the same review on the Orphan X series? I LOVE the product placement! It's a shorthand way for me who knows absolutely nothing about weapons and gear to look it up to get an accurate picture in my imagination. With one caveat: the character or author had better truly like that product because it's a testimonial too. If I find out the author placed the product only for $$ and not authenticity, my respect would diminish, but it wouldn't be enough to stop me reading the series. To Jack Carr: thanks for the books and a big thanks for your podcasts on the situation in Israel. From Jerusalem, A fan in Israel
This was your best negative reviews yet. 😄 You can tell they're rolling off you more as you knock more books out of the park! So glad I found your books. They've been important for me. Love what you and your circle these guys don't like you promoting are doing. Thank you.
Just wanted to hop on the first video I came to and say I loved your performance in episode 2! I’m loving the show so far and it’s my birthday so I took the day off from work to binge the terminal list on Amazon.
Nerding out on the details of weapons, gear, and vehicles is part of what sets this series of books apart and enhances the reading experience for me personally. To each their own, but if someone is not enjoying that in book 5, why are they on book 5? Something kept them engaged and interested.
Picked up the Terminal list soon as I saw the first trailer for it on Amazon Prime about two months ago. I'm now on In the blood. I love all the product placement, it lets me know what to ask Santa for, for Christmas!
Got into the book first day it was released. the conversation with Caroline Hastings in the beginning hit me in the gut hard. I’ll admit, this book was a little different.(really helped me through a dark time mentally) But Jacks skills as an author still shine through. After my second read through, I appreciated the story even more. I think some people won’t be able to relate to the changes James has gone through. Would love to read a prequel type of Book. Similar to the flashback to the green one bomb in this book.
I throughly enjoy reading your books and wanted to let you know I am not former military and I think that you do a good job of making the book understandable and enjoyable for non military people. Your books inspire me to improve as the protector of my family, with that said wish me luck as I try to hunt a chicken coop predator tonight.
I'm sorry but anybody who gives this book a negative review can just go ahead and not read it I purchase the audiobook on The 17th and finished it on the 19th and have yet to read the previous novels however I believe this book to be the best non-fiction book I've ever read especially the details on the weapons and that scene in Italy had my blood pressure up and my eyes dilated as if I were there myself. Keep doing what you're doing brother awesome
Just watched the Terminal list, AWESOME WORK. You are the new Tom Clancy, keep doing what you're doing. BTW, Leeeerrrroooooyyy Jeeeennnnkkiiiinnnnssss..... Had me on the floor dying...
***My Only Complaint*** Book “seemed” too short. Left me wanting more in terms of length (That’s what she said). Loved it though and ending will dovetail nicely into next book. Title for next one could almost be “In The Blood, Part II”. Maybe? Other than that, masterfully written. On complaints regarding product mentions and detail about gear, I say this: I’ve read a ton of books on various subjects and a wide variety of genre and the one area where many authors seem to be woefully lacking, is in descriptions and detail of gear, tools, products, etc.. Authors sometimes just don’t possess the knowledge or expertise or they are quite simply afraid of losing the reader. In this case, it is refreshing to experience an author that isn’t frightened to share these details and enthusiasm. I would almost say that it is now a “mark” of what we’ve come to expect in a Jack Carr book and dare I say, a good and necessary one at that. Don’t stop Jack, keep plugging the gear and sharing the details. One last observation on Kit emphasis, mentions of gear, tools tactics. What do you think fitness nerds, car nerds, computer nerds, Jiu-Jitsu nerds, Star Wars nerds, etc., etc., all talk about and want to hear about? You got it, they all nerd out about their nerdy interests when they talk or get together and that’s ok. I challenge you to ask a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner a very simple question about BJJ and see what kind of response you get! “Three hours later”. That said, conversations between characters about gear, detail and mentions of gear in Carr’s books is quite natural, it flows and makes sense, considering subject matter of the stories.
Mr Carr, The way you handle edged and non-edged weapons makes me wonder why you have any critics at all. Nonetheless, no statue has ever been erected to a critic.
Sounds like a lot of confused people. Loved In the Blood as well as the four previous books. Also love yor references to companies and products. I've become a customer of many of them. Next purchase will be a Winkler item. One more thing, everytime I drive past the Data Center I CRINGE!!
Awesome video! Very funny and entertaining! I’ve enjoyed all of the books. You are really good at your craft. I’m a huge fan of thrillers and military action novels. Tom Clancy was my favorite author back in the day. I really loved “Mr Clark” . Now my favorites are the Gray man novels, and James Reece. You are doing awesome work Mr Carr. Keep up the great work
I thought it was just as great as the whole series. Those are paid negative reviews bc no real life common sense guy would go negative with your series. F them... u rock
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the stories of James Reese on Audible. Savage Son is my favorite so far, but In the Blood certainly has some fascinating and slightly terrifying ideas of how "bleeding edge" A.I. is shaping geopolitics.
It was only by chance that I saw this podcast listed as I searched for something to watch. As a creator of G gu;ns and blades myself, military genre of personal weapon use is high on my list. I'm also a consummate audio listener and downloaded the Terminal list. I will terminate the current book I'm listening to, 2nd time around, and start listening to The Terminal List. I'll give you feedback when I'm done. Cheers, liked your podcast.
"Product placement" 🤣 I for one appreciate it. Plus, you have to appreciate the grift when you are working it like a boss. BTW, I bought an XTEN and couldn't find 10mm anywhere so I haven't been able to shoot it yet. Fortunately, while at a training event at my range yesterday, discovered they had just received a shipment. Oh yeah. 😎 Also, *totally* psyched for "The Terminal List" series. T-minus 6 days.
Jack, i agree that James just seems to be settling down & a mission breaks in. I thought that the epilogue was a masteful twist that I didn't expect. I applaud you for not getting bogged down in military or tech minutiae a la a tom clancy novel. If you need a glossary, cast of characters and a gps because the location & your characters change every few pages in the chapter. In my opinion is mentally exhausting. I am not sure what people are expecting if you write military action thriller and then be critical of everything that makes up the genre. I didn't appreciate that you had bill barr on your podcast recently. I don't understand why. Then i realized that it isn't my podcast it's yours. So i don't have to listen to this week's episode. Perhaps next week's guest will be more enjoyable for me to listen to. I am still grateful for the time and effort that you put into the podcast and the books. You brought me gregg hurwitz, simon Gervais & david morrell.
This is coming from a very old Senior Citizen, Mr. Carr. Just finished your latest,"In Blood". All I can say is you are one helluva Author. For those who are critical of your "Works", ignore them. They must be "Liberals' who are with feeble minds. Sure hope the new President in your next novel is not a Biden like moron.... Seriously, superb writings. God Bless you and your family. And thanks for your military service.
The book is awesome, the action make very hard to stop reading and I love all the details about the weapons and guns. The best, it’s that not being politically correct. I am reading all to books. Finished the second yesterday.
🤣Jack. Love that you do these and have a great sense of humor about doing so. I absolutely loved the book and I was pretty critical of the Devil’s Hand. I think it’s between this and Savage Son as my favorite two.
I can't wait until July 1st! I signed up for prime specifically for this series. Keep up the good work. Good luck with everything you do in the future.
me also
Yep, guilty as well.
Break out the puppy pads. Negative reviews being sung in the key of BIIIIIIIITTTTTCCCCCCHHHHHH! Keep up the great writing Mr. Carr. And the gear reviews!
It takes an author that is very secure with himself to read his negative reviews. That alone is a winning trait.
Jack I'm currently a truck driver (prior service Marine POG), so I plowed through your whole series in about a week or so. I was screaming "NOO! One of the first reviews: “Too much product placement.”
Jack: “Anyway, here’s more of that!” 😂👌🏻

The greater your reach and risk, the greater the number of (mostly armchair) critics. Bravo for all your work...so far.
I’m a huge fan of the books and the details you put in the pages of the novel add a new touch of realism.
Not everyone is going to like everything, just the way it is!
Me, I thought the plot and how it developed was awesome, great book man!
Can’t wait for the series to start, if fact I’m re-reading Terminal List again to see how close the series comes to the book.

As for 10mm, the DA/SA P220 Legend is terrific.

Great job with the paper wads. Loved all 5 books and can't wait to see the series.
Just like the previous books in the series, once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see Chris Pratt portray James Reece and can't wait for the next book. Keep up the good work!
This is the only series of books that I have been able to stick with and remain excited about in my whole life. Keep up the good work @jackcarrusa!
Jack, taking a chance on The Terminal List all those years ago is one of my best chances I took Keep writing.

From Jerusalem,
A fan in Israel
It’s an excellent story all the way through! Can’t wait for the show series and your next book!
I've read all your books mate, loved every minute. Cannot wait to watch The Terminal List
I've listened to all but this most recent book via audible in about a 2 weeks or less. F the haters. Its brilliant. Love the books. Keep writing.
I just realized Dom shouted James out in his video describing the combat flathead.. Pretty cool of him!
Cannot wait for #6.
Picked up the Terminal list soon as I saw the first trailer for it on Amazon Prime about two months ago. I'm now on In the blood. I love all the product placement, it lets me know what to ask Santa for, for Christmas!
GO TEAM......HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!!!🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Don’t listen to the haters that book was great!
Worst part of the book....the ending, lift me on a cliff hanger!
Good on ya boyo! Looking forward to next week. Congrats!
Book Six!!!! Yay! When?
In the Blood novel is a great work of art read, I'm going to check out the Terminal List, keep it up with the good work jack
My favorite author as of last year!! You should do more book tours!!
Just watched the Terminal list, AWESOME WORK. You are the new Tom Clancy, keep doing what you're doing.
BTW, Leeeerrrroooooyyy Jeeeennnnkkiiiinnnnssss..... Had me on the floor dying...
Just bought the DRINK COFFEE / STACK BODIES mug thanks to you Jack!!! Love the Books! Shooters know!
***My Only Complaint***
Book “seemed” too short. Left me wanting more in terms of length (That’s what she said). Loved it though and ending will dovetail nicely into next book. Title for next one could almost be “In The Blood, Part II”. Maybe? Other than that, masterfully written.
On complaints regarding product mentions and detail about gear, I say this:
I’ve read a ton of books on various subjects and a wide variety of genre and the one area where many authors seem to be woefully lacking, is in descriptions and detail of gear, tools, products, etc..
Just saw a preview for the Terminal List before the new Jurassic Park Movie. Can’t wait !
Mr Carr,
The way you handle edged and non-edged weapons makes me wonder why you have any critics at all. Nonetheless, no statue has ever been erected to a critic.
You can't make everybody happy. Great job, can't wait for the Netflix series.
Not original with me, of course but:
“You ain’t catchin’ flak till you’re over the target”.
‘In the Blood’ is a great first half of a book.
At least they bought the book! I started reading books again because of your books
Keep up the great work
I’ve been looking forward to it, always sad when the ride is over.
Excellent, the SIG product drop was perfect.
I can agree that in the blood is not my favorite of the series so far. But I look at it as an amazing set up for the next book.
I thought it was just as great as the whole series. Those are paid negative reviews bc no real life common sense guy would go negative with your series. F them... u rock
I loved the book except the ending, can’t wait for the next one. PS, I just hate having to wait.
Can’t put this book down. F’ing awesome!!!
The only problem with these books...Is they end :) keep it up!
Have read all 4 of your book with fervor. Can’t wait for 1 July. Negative reviews? Laughable. Please keep being you.
Love these ä"negative review" videos! They're savage!🔥👌👌
New reader to the series in prep for the show. I was afraid to watch, but this podcast is great! "Nope, just freedom loving Americans." Epic.
Savage Son and In the Blood I think are the best two books!
The more successful You get Jack, the more these critics will show their ignorance.
Greatly enjoyed the book.
....waiting to see how Amazon twists it around.
Phenomenal series. Exceptional author
LOL The negative reviews are too funny. Love your reviews of the reviews.
🤣Jack. Love that you do these and have a great sense of humor about doing so. I absolutely loved the book and I was pretty critical of the Devil’s Hand. I think it’s between this and Savage Son as my favorite two.
Please do negative reviews for The Terminal List Amazon series!
maybe its becuase I'm a full on geartard, but I really enjoy the detail about the different equipment used by the characters. 😂😂😂
