    What Jack said is so true haha. My grandfather (also named Jack whom I was named after) lied about his age at 17 to join. Not sure how exactly he went about doing that but my grandmother when she was around would always tell me he was so excited to get to travel and see other parts of the world. She said he didn't talk much about the war at all when he came home (thank you God). She said he didn't complain once and immediately would come home from work to help out with the kids. That generation truly is something special. Beautiful sacrifices they made for us all here in America.

    I've been holding my breath for the next two series to drop on NF! Bummed how long it's taking, but understand the strike played a considerable part. I wish the Katie B character in the TV adaptation aligned with the book, especially considering Reece's redemption is impacted by finding love and purpose. In the end, the books and TV series are AMAZING!

      The PRC film market is so huge, and that's why I assume the screen KB role was cast as it was. They could have made a Chinese Katie the daughter of a PRC surgeon that extracted info from CCP bigwigs undergoing surgery that defected to the USA, perhaps while transplanting organs stolen from political prisoners into those CCP bigwigs...but the PRC censors would never have allowed that story to be shown in the PRC. Money talks.

      @dashcammer4322 8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, I agree about the Katie changes, but since my earlier reply was deleted, I'll just say that there's a HUGE market in another country that I think they wanted the screen adaptation to establish a beachhead in, and that's why they radically changed the character's back story and that of her family.

      I haven't read the books yet but if season 1 randomly threw in a love plot between the two of them, I'd have dropped the show. Man was on a mission to avenge his family and his brothers, that would have been a distraction and in very poor taste after he saw his wife and daughter laying on the kitchen floor. Maybe in a later season if they seed the romance in an organic way, but just throwing them together would be a mistake.

    I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Chris Pratt while working Security for a large Christian event at a fairly large event arena. I was just told a VIP was coming in through the loading area for talent and production and to let them down immediately. So when he pulled up i was admittedly star struck and said something stupid like "you look really familiar" and he just reached out and shook my hand and introduced himself like a gentleman.
    He didnt have to do that and most celebrities wouldnt (i worked around a lot of them) but you could tell he is just a humble and grounded guy who doesnt act like hes better than everyone.
    Coworker i was working that post with told me later the truck he was in was a Raptor. Found that funny considering at the time the new jurassic park just came out 😅
    Glad hes had such a successful run. Good christian folks are a rarity in Hollywood.

      While it is sad in a way, some of these great men and women also lived very long lives after going through the horrors of WW2. It's the ones that never made it back home that should bring sadness, the march of time claims all in the end but many never got to experience that for themselves in their sacrifice for us.

      Saw the show first, then did the books. I like and appreciate both versions for different reasons. I am curious to see how they are going to go about putting the scale of the second book to the screen. The book takes us through a lot of big events and places, I hope they don't end up gutting the story too much.
      The 4th book in my opinion was the least good. If I had to rank them best to 'worst'(they're all decent good reads): 1, 2, 6, 3, 5, 4.

    Talking about WW2 veterans. I saw Band of Brothers and they had interviews of the actual guys from the 101st and I remember so strongly the guy who said, "Our town was about 2000 people and every man volunteered and there were 4 guys who were (4Effed or DQed or whatever it was called), and they committed suicide because they couldn't go. The only thing I really didn't like about the show that's different from the book is casting of Katie. She is supposed to be a very beautiful blonde woman. No offense to Constance Wu she's a great actress but the underline attraction between the two isn't there especially the relationship they end up having in later books. True Believer is my favorite book of the series so far followed by The Devil's Hand. Really excited for the future of the series. 🙂

      Budget and time are main factors most times. Hollywood will also get what it wants in the end for better or worse.

    Can we please have the next season/series less “dark” visually I mean. Like it was so dark on every episode and lacked color

    Love how based this dude is. Love his acting, love his patriotism, love his political lienings and how he doesn't beat the audience over the head with his based, ANTI-WOKE belief systems, even though if there is one Hollywood star worth of listening to when they share their political opinions, it's this dude. He's the anti-hero of the modern left, masculine, white gun slinging American modern day badass. Literally can NOT wait for round 2.

    I clicked on this video to watch Chris Pratt... for the 1st 2 min i had to watch youtube ads promoting gambling... then for the next 2min i had to watch jack trying to sell me his books, knives, and 2 bottles of liquor... oh well SKIP THIS Chris Talks for less time than the advertisements
