LOVE the video man, i got one but i reall want to know how to like set it all up so i can record whatever im doing with it. how do you record using it basically lol. oh and you got a new sub right here. 😋
Thanks for checking out the video. The easiest way to record is with a USB audio interface and you can plug that into your computer or tablet or whatever. Focusrite and Presonus are two of the top brands and they each have interfaces under $100. If you look at some off brands, you can find them closer to $50. I'd recommend going that route because it makes it so much easier to get into home recording if you've got an audio interface.
Today, for my Great Love of Monotron Delay, I decided to a "Hiss Tracks" release, with Delay as the main character. This video is one of my inspirations :-)
Thanks for watching. I actually have a separate video about the electric washboard. Believe it or not, I used a guitar pickup. It picks up the vibrations of the steel just like it would strings.
Is the black out to a speaker? I just received mine and I’m a bit confused as to how to mod it, should i use the aux as a bridge or do i need an additional cable?
So if I were to record my Volca fm, sync it to the either the Volca drum or Volca bass that I’m getting soon and then I would go audio out from one of th Volcas into the monotron delay and then audio out from monotron into my interface in order to record?
Thanks for checking out the vid. This question is probably better suited for a home recording forum than a UA-cam comment (because people can post diagrams and request photos and other specific specs). That said, what you describe sounds logical. However, it you're going to have multiple Volcas going into a single Monotron Delay, you need a mixer to combine their audio signals before the effect. The sync jack allows the clocks to sync but the audio still needs to be mixed.
hey, could you please tell me what kind of cables you use? i recently purchased one of these and got 2 stereo 3,5 to 6,3mm converters(since ive read somewhere that using mono can cause some damage) which i plug into 2i4 scarlett but the sound im getting from it is too quiet...
Thanks for checking out the video. I use a variety of different cables (some mono, some stereo) and I don't seem to have a problem. Sometimes if you're using a mono cable in a stereo jack you just don't push it in all the way. Anyway, the scenario you're describing is quite odd. Are you using TS or TRS cables?
@@musicalmiscellany im using 3,5mm trs adapter on both aux and headphones jack, and 1/4 ts cables... ill just get a 3,5>6,3 cable and hope it will solve my issue. thank you for replying and keep doing all this cool stuff you've been doing.
@@markost2696 That's very odd that you would get a volume drop like that. I think the new cable may help. Give it a shot. Hopefully it works out. This is really a fun effect. Thanks again for watching the vid.
I don't own a Monotron Duo but I believe it does have an input jack. That said, it doesn't have the delay so you'd only get the filter effect. The Monotron Delay is definitely more useful as an effect since it has filter and delay.
One difference in favor of the Duo, though, is that its filter is resonant, and the resonance can be adjusted. It’s good as a filter; the Delay is good as a delay.
@@MatthewChristianMurray Awesome thank you! sometimes I think I should have gotten the delay but I didn't know that advantage of the duo. I use its filter to make lo-fi music

Have watched a few videos on this thing now and cant believe ive never heard of it before. Cant wait to get one.
Yeah, it's a great little box. Check out this vid when you get a sec. ua-cam.com/video/SRWARJcBYHM/v-deo.html
That instrument with the spring and door stopper is incredible dude
Thanks. It has it's own video here if you're interested. ua-cam.com/video/yD0xToxJtmE/v-deo.html
I watched this the other day and got distracted before I could comment - I think I love this thing! It's seriously so cool.
It is certainly unique. A lot of folks don't like it but I think it's pretty magical. Especially for the price.
Your lap steel is awesome, such a cool project. Some of your ideas blow my mind due to originality. I have the monotron and it's... exotic 💙
Thank you very much for the comment. I really appreciate it.

I have some fairly costly pedals, but this is my most used pedal...
Thanks for the vid

Glad I could help! It is a really cool little musical gadget. LoFi as heck... but that's kinda the beauty of it. Thanks for watching.
Nice video my friend.biglike
Thankd for sharing

3:44 was so cool to listen to
Lap steels are twangy but they really do have a great atmospheric sound. Especially with a ton of delay. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
I love its lowfi character. It's not for every application. I too have used it in jarmagedan.

Wow! That's great to hear. I make these vids hoping to inspire or teach so... it's so good to hear that kind of feedback.
i really liked the part with washboard:)) do you have a contact mic connected to monotron or a regular mic to pick a sound from the environment?

BAD ASS! I have a monotron. Love it.
They are really neat little boxes. I love that lofi delay.
Lve it on the lap steel.
I agree. Lap steels always sound really good with heavy delay/reverb.
Cool for movie making!

How'd you make the Moffenzeef Jarmaggeddon? I'm wanting to create my own instrument similar to that and wondering what is needed for it.
It's a DIY kit you can buy from Moffenzeef. It includes everything except the jar and the battery.
Omg wtf i love you

whats the song you play on that toy piano?
Thanks for watching the vid. It wasn't a song per se, I was just messing around with a few intervals. I guess it sounded pretty good. LOL.
Cool I guess this is kinda like a pre-amp. Do you know if you can use the Monotron duo for a similar purpose?

Is the background noise generated by the Monotron?
Yes it is. The Montron Delay is very loft and noisy. As you decrease the filter cutoff, you'll hear more hum/hiss from the Montron.
This is so fucking cool jesus fucking christ
Thanks for that. It looks like UA-cam hid your comment 'due to language' so I'm just now seeing it. Sorry for the delay but I appreciate the feedback.

But u cant do some professional with it
