I have a plethora of old Casios (some are circuit bent and some are not)- the Montron Delay makes everything sound killer. I have two. Also I use the Korg mini Kaoss Pad- that adds some cool effects too! Love the video!!
Ooh! I use mine with my Monotribe too! I was using a Numark Pt01 running through the Mini Kaoss pad to the Boss Sp-303 sampler thenother night. I will check out your video! Cheers!
BaconGamer88 hey thanks for the encouragement. Things have got a bit busy with work and stuff and a couple of albums which are in progress, but I'm planning to do some more videos soon. Encouraging comments like yours are exactly what I need to motivate me to make some more. Any particular suggestions?
Sam Di Nitride Awesome! I don't have any particular requests, but I have some potential ideas: - Op 1 video (If you have the money). - More videos like this (upgrading old / poor gear). - Video on foot pedal FX for keyboard.
That's really cool, I'm going to do this with a Casio Sa-7 but I don't have a delay pedal, but I do have a Daw. So I think it should be fun to mess around and get some use out of these old Casios because have some real character to them.
@@Sm2n thanks for your message, i just wonder if you use only feedback and no time, if it works like a reverb without echo just like the volca keys feedback knob, looking for a reverb for synth and mike
Your Englishteacher yes ... I have both the monotron delay and the volca keys, and the delay function on both devices appears to behave the same way. With the time knob turned fully to the left, it does sound a bit like a spring reverb, but I’m not sure it is officially classed as a reverb.
What cables are you using to plug into the monotron? I found a million different answers online but no videos. I'd really appreciate help because I am completely lost and dont know what cables to get. Thanks!
Hey @mateo I just used a simple 3.5mm stereo jack cable with male to male connectors. I hope that helps? I have a feeling they may have come with the Volca’s, but they are also fairly normal for connecting stereo devices with mini jacks.
Hey Sam, amidst all my ancient kit I bought this EXACT keyboard over here in France for 10centimes broken, I re-soldered the battery connections and BOOM. (over here it is badged a 'Liwaco LW-600" so being and Alien fan I call it the 'Sulaco'). I have been doing exactly what you have been doing having just discovered the tiny Monotron in the sales... AMAZING. I am trying it as Vocoder too. I am going to push all my ryhthms through this until I get bored but I can't see that happening. Keep up the great work sir and thank you for sharing. 🎹🏆
So when you plug in an external sound source, you can't modify the sound that goes through the Monotron, but you can modify the extra sounds made by the monotron using that sound? I'm wondering if you can use the Monotron as a (high) pass filter for an external synth.
Justin Munce Yes, the monotron acts as a low pass filter and a delay, and applies these effects to the external source, and to the internal oscillator if you use it.
What did you end up upgrading to? I was looking at getting an sa46 too, but I’ve come across all these other vintage Casio keyboards and now I want them all
that rock drum sequence was in Holy Fucking Shit 40000 by Have A Nice Life
slavtrash oh nice! Thanks for the tip :-)

Eve Severe yes the mini kaoss pad is excellent. See my latest video where I use it with my Monotribe.

Wow randomly I have the pt1 and the delay blu-Tack to korg tiny piano, you have just doubled my fun thanks.
You're very welcome sir!
add a Delay to a kids keyboard and you are Vangelis and Jarre!
hahaha
Sounds 1000x better as soon as it's plugged into the Monotron.
Thanks @rob ... what else could I plug it into? I have a reverb pedal... should I try that?
Proving that you can make an old keyboard into a fucking Badass music machine for £40.
Thanks very much BaconGamer88 :-)
Sam Di Nitride Hey, may I ask what the hell happened to your channel? You (rather sadly) stopped uploading.

Looking for a video where they use just the feedback without echo....
Your Englishteacher tell me more. I’d love to demonstrate any specific behaviour you’d like to see and hear

How do you make it work as a vocoder Nigel?

I had one of those when I was a kid!
Dennis Kwasnycia excellent... have you still got it?
@@Sm2n Nah. That was like 30yrs ago. I have my own kid experimenting with music now ^.^
Sustain pedal could also do just that?
I’d love to see what you come up with!
i kinda do the same with other casio, monotron is the bomb thx for the video, very nice, cheers
Thanks Omx
Excellent noises! :)
Thanks - these toys are cool :-)
The MONOTRON is like stepping into a Black Hole. Once you go in... It's hard to get out! I love mine.
Your warning is clearly heartfelt :-)
I might buy a PT-1
ุ Yes do it, and post me a link to the videos you record :-)
Thanks! I was looking for a video like this, I have a Casio SA46 I want to "upgrade" 😅
What did you end up upgrading to? I was looking at getting an sa46 too, but I’ve come across all these other vintage Casio keyboards and now I want them all
You can never have too many vintage Casios!
Hey, is it possible to do this with other casiotones? For example the mt-11?
Yes of course that should work. Give it a try and show us what you can do!
What are you referencing at 1:40?
Da Da Da by Trio... ua-cam.com/video/YtMThVUpc-U/v-deo.html
I had this keyboard when I was 6
The WorM oh fantastic have you still got it, or did you progress onto something more powerful?
@@Sm2n I now have an Technics WSA1
How they do to connect That?
regular mini jack to mini jack cable.
is that an aux jack?
The monotron delay has an aux-in jack and a headphone jack. The Casio has just a headphone jack.
Amazing!
Thanks.. I think :-)
