Also love R3-T6- Such a cool looking card with that clear dome and the + to hyperspeed is amazing. I liked using him and that tall guy the Jawa's were selling, R1-G4. He added one to power and Hyperspeed.
Surprised Guri was not on the list. IG-88 w/gun + Guri + 4-LOM in a carbon-freeze deck is a great way to sneak around your frozen block without consequence (so long as they’re alone). Fun deck that really doesn’t care about space or draining if you want. Always wanted to build the EV-9D9 gimmick deck. I *did* build the mining droid deck (combo with Program Trap) which resulted in some surprisingly grindy games. I used Lord Vader as bait. If opponent bit, I’d either pump him up or cycle him thanks to Crush the Rebellion. If opponent decided to avoid him, he’d be draining and they’d end up having their stacks blown to smithereens with all the mines and program traps about. Hilarious!
I always forget about Guri! and Ref 2 TBH, she is awesome for sure, probably should make the list damn that is a really clever program trap/EV deck, i might have to try it out !!
When I close my tired eyes after a hard day of moving numbers around on spreadsheets, I see only one droid able to restore my faith in humanity... That's right folks - our favorite ass-tatted, U-3PO slappin', AI image corrected droid R-3PO. Accept no substitutes!
Always loved a plain old WED Techie droid posted up at my rebel base docking bay and sending my hit starships straight to the used pile. As for video ideas, how about a breakdown on your favorite strategies both light & dark? Or top 10 trick decks or something?
The EV-9D9 deck was nasty early on, especially using the droid workshop. All your droids deploy -1, so you could make a deck with like 5-6 EV-9D9s, the one location, and stack the rest of the deck with all non-unique deploy 1 droids and essentially everything deployed for free. Could potentially be draining for 5-6 on turn 2.
Love the Probe Droids. Decent armor and forfeit. I saw someone mentioned Guri. Almost a droid version of Vader. I also use Leebo in the Kessel Run deck Watch Your Step/This Place Can Be a Little Rough. Keep these videos coming!
R3-T6 was difficult to get back in 1996 (He’s a R1), but was very helpful for Star Destroyers. I really like the Premier and New Hope droids. I feel like the longer SWCCG progressed, the less important droids became.
Mouse droids were cheap and useful. They had compartments to zip small items around imperial bases (like data cylinders). They also had holoprojectors to deliver messages....and now, apparently lights and sirens
R2-A5 is one of my fav droids, it adds 1 to total attrition for each piloted TIE present. Real good with those Death Star II decks or decks using Combat Response. I use both R5 and Combat Response in my Death Star 1 deck to have a bunch of piloted TIEs adding attrition while shooting at planets. R3-T6 is in there too, to get the DS moving faster. Episode idea - pairs of fun theme-decks to build. Not to be competitive only, but to lean into sets, mechanics, counters and counter-counters. Lift Tube Escape on Cloud City, or Diaonga in the Death Star Trash Compactor kind of depth. Deck building becomes collaborative at that point.
Artoo & Threepio combo card could be mentioned - pulling some of those Bad Feeling cards is really good. Piloting only the Falcon is funny. All droids may be battled can make the game weird which equals fun. 2-1B is my favorite droid that's not good. Pulled him as a kid, seemed good in theory, never actually does anything. Guri is the most powerful droid but is disqualified for not looking like a droid.
2-1b is one of my fav too! But I already talked about him alot on 2 other videos :( sorry 2-1b i dont like you that much! Agree Artoo and the falcon card make some cool tricks possible and Yep exactly! why i didnt include Guri
I've always felt that CZ-3 was criminally under-appreciated. Maybe I'm evaluating him with too much of an MtG bias, but the ability to just play "at instant speed" at three locations seems crazy good for a deploy cost of 1. I'm not a very good SW:CCG player but he gets included in many of my casual LS decks :)
8d8 or 21-B probably would've made my list, but overall pretty solid! Some ideas could be top 10 tie fighters, x-wings, most convoluted game rules, rules we all played wrong until gemp, etc
My top 10: 10 - ASP-707 (Staple of speeder decks) 9 - Bantha Droid (essential in an LS Capital deck) 8 - Septoid Droid (fun and gimmicky in early formats) 7 - R-3PO (wreaks havoc on ISB and U-3PO - also if he breaks cover, LS doesn't have to take him, so you can still lose 2 a turn) 6 - Artoo (The gift is fun) 5 - U-3PO (Staple in all decks, like you said) 4 - 5D6-RA-7 (Absolute hero of the ISB) 3 - IG-88 ( 2 - Probe Droid 1 - 4-LOM Honorable mentions that I don't see mentioned yet: CZ-3 (seems so lame but I've seen surprise beatdowns in Intro-2Player games and others) 8D8 (RTP Staple and a numbers deck hero) IT-O (Super jank but super fun) R2-Q2 (underrated tracking superstar)
I wish droids were more of a thing. Other than numbers decks, of course. But there were some cool combos. I liked: -Were You Looking For Me to pull both C-3PO and the replacement See-Threepio, so you can retrieve at a good time, cycle a 5 or play lost to add a destiny. -ASP-707 stacking Ewok Catapults on top of your deck -Never tried it, but I always wanted to try Artoo & Threepio with Bad Feeling card tricks. As far as overpowered standalones that were still cool, Guri was a beast.
C-3PO was my first "Main" character I pulled from premiere packs. I was super excited to finally get a main character. Not as excited as pulling Luke or Vader but close as my first cool rare at the time.
You said “I know dark is supposed to have less forfeit” as a throw away comment. I NEVER REALIZED THAT. But it makes sense! It’s been said already but I was surprised not to see Guri. But she is not really what you think of when your considering the droid category.
I always liked 5d6-ra-7 not the greatest droid but looks damn kewl and is a isb/spy - you seem to like making episodes on not the most popular topics, which I really appreciate 8)
8D8 -- Not only can he release captives, but his lore says he's sympathetic to the droids and aliens he's forced to torture. Now I'm here worrying about a droid's feelings... I hope he found a better job after Jabba's demise.
R2 was the best main the early days. Him and Chewie seemed easier to pull than the mains out of premier. Plus all the devices that were made for R units just made him fun to Exploit.
The mouse droid was created because Decipher was worried they had made utinni effects so good that every game would be all utinni all the time. Disaster averted.
My older brother had an EV-9D9 deck way back when. I had no idea how to counter it cause I was 10 or something and didn't have a big collection, so we had to kitchen table ban it cause it made made me so upset. Lol. Any chance of doing top 10 Bounty Hunters?
I like Leebo! I think the Lars family wanted a mine Droid because in Disney Cannon Beru loved putting mines in her neighbors yards. Why would a mining Droid be on the death star? That always bothered me. I love Y-wings so I think a video that would get 10000 views would be one on the best Y-wings and their pilots.
Also love R3-T6- Such a cool looking card with that clear dome and the + to hyperspeed is amazing. I liked using him and that tall guy the Jawa's were selling, R1-G4. He added one to power and Hyperspeed.
G0NK Droids need more love. G0NK droids are everything. Embrace the G0NK! YOU cannot deny the G0NK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! G0NK!!!
Great videos. Love that you stick to the classic sets, especially the early stuff!
thanks! I only comment on what I love/know
I won!!! Going to buy a lottery ticket right now!
wootwoot!

Another great video! And I’m surprised Timer Mine decks were never really a thing.

Man that intro music was sure cranked up😊 Everyone loves Artoo. Another great episode👍
Always loved a plain old WED Techie droid posted up at my rebel base docking bay and sending my hit starships straight to the used pile.
As for video ideas, how about a breakdown on your favorite strategies both light & dark? Or top 10 trick decks or something?
but you have to lose a force!!!
oo thanks for the idea, like the trick deck idea, or maybe to 10 top most satisfying plays
The EV-9D9 deck was nasty early on, especially using the droid workshop. crazy fun deck to pull off !
Love the Probe Droids. Decent armor and forfeit. I saw someone mentioned Guri. Almost a droid version of Vader. I also use Leebo in the Kessel Run deck Watch Your Step/This Place Can Be a Little Rough. Keep these videos coming!

Not droids, but the Tonnika Sisters have two Warrior icons, and they are from Premiere.
Mouse droids were cheap and useful. They had compartments to zip small items around imperial bases (like data cylinders). They also had holoprojectors to deliver messages....and now, apparently lights and sirens
gotta get us a mouse droid

R2-A5 def is a niche droid that deserves more love!
good video thanks! great comment
R2-D2 from ANH was one of the first mains I ever had! Love that you kept him at #1 but I will agree that Guri is probably #1! Cheers!
I know Guri is the best, but I dont really consider her a droid (yes i know she is.. but still)
@@fatty777 understandable. She definitely was affected by the super power creep. They really did start to go off the rails in the later sets!
4-LOM forever holds a special place in my heart, as I pulled one when Dagobah (my first new expansion) came out.
same
Daft Punk, nice choice of music for this video. Run EJP 3PO, JP R2, and ECC Chewie, its dangerous!
dirty! love that combo
@@fatty777 Loved the

Yes looking back on the list CZ-3 should have been on it, he definitely sees play in many strong decks

Honorable mentions that I don't see mentioned yet:
CZ-3 (seems so lame but I've seen surprise beatdowns in Intro-2Player games and others)
8D8 (RTP Staple and a numbers deck hero)
IT-O (Super jank but super fun)

great comment
forgot ASP-707 honestly.. hes dam good
Lol i love IT-O as a kid, power 4 wowowo!
and CZ-3 needed to be on there too

great comment, they made droids overall too weak, I mean look at C-3p0 from premiere...
Guri def strongest "droid"
Keep em coming! Video idea, best and or worst aliens. Lots to chose from and they don't get the attention they deserve.
C-3PO was my first "Main" character I pulled from premiere packs. I was super excited to finally get a main character. Not as excited as pulling Luke or Vader but close as my first cool rare at the time.
Threepio with parts showing is my favorite...artoo a close second
good choice! that might be my favorite foil card of all time
2-1B! The good doctor. An unstoppable force of healing when you are rocking that Bacta Tank.
You said “I know dark is supposed to have less forfeit” as a throw away comment. I NEVER REALIZED THAT. But it makes sense! It’s been said already but I was surprised not to see Guri. But she is not really what you think of when your considering the droid category.
Ooh a deck!
My homie LE-BO2D9 never gets the love he so desperately craves
Love destroyer droids, probe droids and pit droids. For card purposes love the undercover droids, R2 and the bounty hunter droids
Lovin all the new vids!
U-3PO is a must in most decks. But I wish the vehicle droids were more useful
I always liked 5d6-ra-7 not the greatest droid but looks damn kewl and is a isb/spy - you seem to like making episodes on not the most popular topics, which I really appreciate 8)
oh yes!! hes so good almost included him instead of probe droid. because you just put him down and they get -1 force drains on the planet
Love the IG-88. Very cool droid
Would’ve picked 5d6 as he’s great in ISB but hard to argue too much with any of these.
8D8 -- Not only can he release captives, but his lore says he's sympathetic to the droids and aliens he's forced to torture. Now I'm here worrying about a droid's feelings... I hope he found a better job after Jabba's demise.
:( poor robot, He was just learning to love
R2 was the best main the early days. Him and Chewie seemed easier to pull than the mains out of premier. Plus all the devices that were made for R units just made him fun to

Yep totally, R2 and Chewie are R2 as well as.. Death star. But wedge and red 5 and few other strong cards were R1
The mouse droid was created because Decipher was worried they had made utinni effects so good that every game would be all utinni all the time. Disaster averted.
hahah are you being serious? that is some awesome lore if so...
Tamizander Rey looks like Jar Jar with that headpiece
both look really good
Definitely LIN-V8K (Elleyein-Veeatekay) and LIN-V8M (Elleyein-Veeateemm) for me - I tried way too hard as a kid to make thematic mine decks.
Now that we know the mouse droids have sirens, they should definitely be top 10 😂
the tonika sisters have 2 weapon icons as well as the ability to use devices at the same time. premium or new hope set . cant remember the set
I like how you only focus on the original trilogy cards--just the way it should be.
the way it should be! epi 1 cards feel so out of place.
What happened to C-3PO with his parts showing? Does he not count as a Threepio?
mostly focus on p-jpsd, im not too familiar with those cards, and the meta/balance
My older brother had an EV-9D9 deck way back when. I had no idea how to counter it cause I was 10 or something and didn't have a big collection, so we had to kitchen table ban it cause it made made me so upset. Lol.
Any chance of doing top 10 Bounty Hunters?
hahah i know how you feel, back in the day those gimmicky decks made me rage
oo good idea for top 10 thanks!
No Guri?
Also, my personal favorite is R2-Q2. I used extra copies of him as bookmarks in all textbooks when I was in law school.
Sorry Guri doesnt feel like a droid to me!
At first I read that as R2-D2! I thought "damn" but no R2-Q2 is probably the most adorable droid
O i like me some leebo. HAHA thats even better question about the death star mining droid didnt even think of that
I do like y wings, you mkae a strong case
I’ve got a Japanese Probe Droid card I’d like to think I could pay off my mortgage with it. Favourite droid card? LE-BO2D9 of course!
Nice video, but you forgot R5-A2
the spider looking droid
I always dreamed of making a Stalker + Probe Droid deck (make them deploy free, forfeit 5). #dreambig
Some one in the P-H tourney play them against me! he had about 4 in the deck, but going big could be fun with like 30
How about an episode about the funniest/weirdest game text or twist? I.e. Brainiac etc.
good idea!
Should do a bounty hunter top 10
1. Mouse Droid
2. Mouse Droid
3. Mouse Droid
4. Mouse Droid
5. Mouse Droid
6. Mouse Droid
7. Mouse Droid
8. Mouse Droid
9. Mouse Droid
10. CZ-4
now thats a list!
Was there any chance 3P0 wasn’t number 3?
100% I thought about R2 at 2 but, na!
