As a person that wants to visit Korea and possibly move there, I find your videos very helpful to gain some kind of perspective of what life is like in Korea. From the languages videos of years ago to the current vlogs, they all really help. There might be people who aren’t watching anymore because they were only here for the language learning content but there’s a few of us that still watch. But tbh I just really like you as a person and watching anything you post is a nice spark of serotonin.

(Edit: Sorry the comment is so long but I hope it helps!) I originally subscribed to your channel because I started learning Korean via self-study, and through studying the language and watching your videos I became more interested in Korean culture and everyday life in Korea. Because of that, I love watching all aspects of your content, whether that's study tips and textbooks and language learning, or vlogs and lifestyle/touristy things. Seeing the channel grow and change over the years has been entertaining, comforting, helpful and informative all at once, because the channel has had such a variety of content. But at the end of the day, the channel is yours and can be a form of expression. The thing I love most about your channel is seeing you grow as a person and seeing you share your experiences and interests, so if your content changes because your own interests or preferences change, or you decide you want to show/work on different things, those of us who love your content as a whole will stick with you and keep watching. Personally, I'm much more interested in hearing about the things you want to share and seeing the content that you actually want to put out into the world because I trust you as a content creator. I subscribed for Korea-related content but I stayed because I'm interested in finding out what you have to say/share. Whichever video you want to make is the video I want to watch, and I'm sure a lot of your other subscribers would agree. 💜

girl, i totally see your pov.
and i’m not gonna lie, i originally subbed a couple years ago when you had been posting helpful language learning vlogs, but once you said you were going to study in korea, it made me super curious. i now am planning my future around going to school in korea because of you! (thankssss)❤️ and i’m sure so many of your subscribers agree.
do what you think is best for your channel! and- like you said- it’s probably better to lose subscribers.

Honestly, I think it’s a good point to unsubscribe to channels that you don’t follow frequently. It really gives a different perspective to the followers too because I used to feel really bad about unsubscribing to channels that I used to watch all the time but thinking about it this way does lessen that guilt.
On another note, girl you do you! I’m excited to see whatever you want me to see lol

I just don’t want you to burn yourself out that’s all I’m saying. If that means making vlogs or videos and uploading every 3 weeks then that’s what it means, you know? Think about why you stopped the learning content in the first place, why did you want to make vlogs? What do you enjoy making the most of?
Sorry I don’t have anything more helpful, but don’t feel discouraged. You’ll get to where you wanna be with yt I’m sure of it

I subscribed to your channel for your Korean learning content that I find very helpful. Over the past year, I’ve only watched study vlogs because that’s what I’m interested in, I never watch the travel vlogs on your channel (or other channels for that matter) since I have no interest in those. That being said, you should definitely keep on doing the kind of content that makes you happy regardless of the views (although I realise it’s easy for me to say that since I’m not a UA-camr and I have no idea what kind of pressure you can be dealing with). I hope you won’t mind me sticking around for future study related content, even though I don’t watch all the videos you post. The most important thing is that you preserve your mental health and well being that are way more precious than any YT stat 😘

I usually don't comment on videos, but this time I'd like to say something. I really enjoy your channel and I do not watch ALL the videos not because I don't like your content or anything, it's just because I am subscribed to a considerable amount of yt channels and with work and studies I don't have enough time... I hope this helps with the mindset of 'disappointing' your subscribers (you're definitely not disappointing! Life is just rough sometimes)
Anyway, I love the idea of monthly vlogs! Also, I hope you know that a huge part of us likes whatever you put out because we like your personality 💜 and even though not all of us will see all the videos, we are still subscribed for a reason :)

Hi Natalia! I’ve been watching your videos since I was about 11, I am now 14. Your videos have been such a motivation for me because like you said there wasn’t/isn’t much Korean content. But, when I saw you were making vlogs I made sure/still make sure to watch it. I’m going to Korea this year and I plan on going to college there! Your vlogs gave me the confidence that soon I can be like you. I also think a big part of UA-cam is also to do things that are fun for you. Things that satisfy you and don’t make you stressed. If vlogs are what you love to do, keep doing it. You‘ll eventually get the views and subscribers that love that content. Sometimes you just gotta focus on something for a few more months/years before it completely takes off. All your hard work will be/is worth it! Love you, and congrats on 100k!

This transparency was so refreshing and I'm so glad you're thinking about new content you might feel more fulfilment in posting and new schedules that can work better for you. I feel like so much of what you mentioned about making content that no longer feels aligned with what you came onto UA-cam to make, not feeling those big milestones as exciting anymore, and feeling like you've let people down are things so many UA-camrs and other creative people feel but don't often talk about. That said, I also don't feel like you've let anyone down! Your language videos will always be there for people who are looking for that kind of advice and, like you said, you've now posted videos that can help potential language school students figure out if it's right for them and get a sense of what it'll be like. I 1000000% think you should post what you feel best about, but I also don't think you need to feel like your vlogs didn't offer something while they were your focus. I definitely subscribed originally for language content but I've loved watching your vlogs because they motivate me to study and it's been really cool to learn more about living in Korea and going to a language school, which are experiences I know super little about. Plus, they're fun to watch and as your friend I like getting to see what you're up to lol. I'm really excited for everything that's to come from you

I found your channel at the beginning of the year and was so excited! I had started learning Korean a week or two before I found your channel and had looked up how to learn Korean and more along those lines and had started watching some videos. Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed by all the videos from all these people I didn't know, but then I found your channel. I was comfortable watching and learning from your videos on ways to help me learn Korean in better ways. but then I found your vlogs, and I got even more excited because i got to watch someone live in a place I so badly want to visit. no matter what content you make you've been so helpful for me to keep going even in the struggle of trying to learn Korean! I just want you to know that I appreciate all of the videos you upload whether it be a vlog or a helping learn Korean video. I think you are a wonderful person and I hope you know how much we appreciate you!!

I know what you mean and can relate to some things you mentioned in this video. I also struggled with figuring out how to switch up my content when I got to Italy because I also started creating videos about how you can learn Italian at home... and now I actually live in Italy and go to school here. So making videos about learning Italian at home just seems so weird now because I'm learning in school and by talking to friends, not necessarily through keeping the self-discipline and motivation anymore to study at home. I still am trying to figure out my new content as well, but I think any creator will go through life changes and therefore content changes as, and your real supporters will stick around through all these phases :) Plus as you mentioned it's very helpful for people wanting to do something similar in Korea to understand how a language program works there! But everything you said, I understand and I think it's good to talk about these things and express this with your audience. :)

As someone who is a subscriber but hasn’t been watching a lot of videos recently, firstly I want to say I’m sorry for any personal disappointment or discouragement I’ve contributed towards :(
I saw another comment about this already, but I personally love love love your sit down chatty videos. I usually watch while I’m doing something else, and just love having your advice videos or anything related to that playing in the background.
I think for me personally, vlogs aren’t something I watch unless I’m wanting recommendations of places to visit, and in that case I usually just search it up. I subscribed during you language learning period because languages are something I’m also passionate about! I’m also currently abroad in language school (not Korea but in taiwan)and just love hearing about other language programs in other countries (ie what are classes like, how expensive is it, etc.)
That was kind of a ramble of mixed thoughts but I hope that it made sense!

I started watching your channel two years ago when I began studying Korean, then I stayed because I like your selection of background music and your vibe. Sometimes the videos are too long for me, so I watch them in parts or just watch a few videos at a time. I don’t mind the content, I just feel relax watching anything you post, so I’ll stay subscribed and continue watching at my own pace.

I love all your content and I can proudly say I have watched all of your videos even the old ones. 😄I support whatever decision you make but I hope you still make vlogs! I actually started to really learn Korean after finding your channel. I didn't think studying and attending language school in Korea was possible. I thought that was just a dream that could never happen, but you gave me the courage and hope that it was possible. It's also kinda cool that you are also from texas so that helps too. Your videos show me that my dream is possible and they help me kinda live my dream. They really motivate me and I hope you know that you aren't disappointing anyone. I started following you when I began learning Korean 2 years ago, your videos have helped me so much and then your vlogs on all the places in Korea helped me plan my trip to Korea I took back in October (my husband loved our gondola ride in Busan and the cool cafes in Seoul I took him too based off of what my "youtube friend" Natalia recommended!). I even got the pink 위국을 위한 한국의 역사와 문화 book while I was in Korea because I love history and would never have known about it without your content. I love following your journey and look forward to your future videos - be them language learning, vlogs, educational - whatever they are your persona is wonderful! Because of you I am planning on going to a Korean language school in a year or two and am so motivated to study. Thank you for all the videos you have done, and I know the videos you have made and have planned will help me so much when I make my journey to language school. The series on language school would be so great. I also enjoy re-watching your blogs because they remind me of my trip to Korea and yeah, thank you for all your hard work and for sharing your journey with all of us 🤓

Post what you enjoy when you feel like it! Not every video will vibe with everyone, but you have a life outside of UA-cam that grows and changes, and we enjoy whatever parts of that you decide to share with us. I originally subscribed for the language learning content, but I also really enjoy the other stuff you post. It's just as interesting to see the places you go and things you do. It's very helpful to see what actual life is like in Korea for those that may want to move there (or even just visit) someday. There are a lot of Korean-focused creators these days, but you are definitely one of the best, imo, and it would be a shame to lose your perspective and voice. A lot of your audience is growing with you, too. Let them join you on the ride!

So I'm a casual watcher of your channel (not subscribed atm) but I love that you posted this video! I truly admire you for it and I would love to see you make the content that you mentioned in the video. I am moving to Korea in February and I would truly benefit from seeing content about what documents to bring when you want to stay there for a long time, what to pack, what to expect from your first month of living in Korea, how you adapted to the culture as I have heard sometimes it's a big shock for Westerners when they move to Korea. I would probably subscribe to your channel then even if you just posted every 5 weeks. Truly just do what makes you happy Natalia (btw we have the same name but I'm from Poland ;)), I'm sure your content will do well once you put in the time and love into the videos you truly want to make!
Hope you still post a vlog here and there :)
Also you have truly motivated me over the years to study Korean! I'm definitely going to take classes when I move there to be an English teacher, so thank you for being my motivation.

I'm sure talking through this, you also realize this, but I thought I'd say it too. Views are a weird thing. The reasons I view videos or not are rarely related to if a creator is fascinating me or not. Sometimes I binge a certain creator because I find their videos comforting in that moment. The next day, I might be busy or focusing on something that another creator speaks to, so I'll watch their videos. Sometimes I just don't have time for YT for a few weeks and won't watch anything. This is, in my opinion, the weirdest one. I will sometimes not watch my favorite creator's content for months because it means so much to me I only watch when I feel I have the mental energy to give the video the conscious consideration I feel it deserves. All that to say, viewers watch and don't watch for a wide variety of reasons. In your case, I can say that I enjoy your videos as both Korean language learning content and lifestyle videos (especially as an expat living in Korea). I hope you find a balance that works for you. Don't feel pressured in a negative way! And don't feel that you're disappointing your viewers, because that's not the case. I hope you can make content that you enjoy making. Especially if the number of subscribers (study buddies) and views isn't that important to you - feel free to make content that you want to make.

Lots of congratulations, Natalia, on your UA-cam journey. (Please keep reading.) To me, the play button is representative of your journey as a whole. I can see you've put so much work into your channel. I've been a regular viewer since May 2021 and I started by binge watching, I think it was your 2019, Korea travel vlogs including when you came with your cousin. I'm sharing all this stuff because I know you're curious about your audience (and sometimes the "analytics" don't reveal much in depth information regarding the people behind the views). Seeing how well you approached UA-cam actually inspired me to eventually start my own channel in a very different niche to yours. I could talk about the algorithm, lack of attention span of viewers in general, all sorts of things that one experiences for themselves when they have their own channel, but I won't. I will say that having a UA-cam channel of your own is incredibly humbling. Please don't take this as me trying to sway you. You voiced your opinion through your video. I'm voicing mine through this comment.
PS. I would like to learn Korean one day, but I haven't even gotten started yet. I've watched most of your videos since the middle of 2021, whether they be study-related, moving-related or travel. An idea that just popped into my head is what if you created a separate channel just for vlogs/travel vlogs (so if you prefer, you could keep your current channel for your Korean language (and closely related) content)? Just a thought.

hi natalia! i'm several months late haha but i have been watching your videos for i don't even know how many years now (across more than one of my youtube accounts). i love all of the content you create and i find everything so helpful. i am always so busy during my classes in the fall and spring that i don't have time to watch youtube, which is why i am so behind on your videos and binge them during the summer. no matter what content you create, i think i will always watch because even in vlogs you are teaching us about korea and its lifestyle. i hope to visit korea one day and every bit of your videos helps. i'm terrified to do that one day as i will likely be doing it alone haha but your videos give me hope and comfort that maybe i will be able to do it. i don't have friends who are interested in korea, korean, or korean culture so your channel provides me with hope that there are people out there who are. i have been studying korean for years now, largely due to your videos keeping me motivated. i truly don't think i would be studying korean at all today if not for you, and for that, i will be forever thankful; it truly is a debt i will never be able to repay. i wish you nothing but the best, always

As someone who is seriously considering studying post grad and language school in Korea your plans and ideas of useful things to know if your in Korea long term as a foreigner sounds tremendously useful. Your vlogs are similarly useful to get a bit of a feel for the culture as someone who has never been to Korea. Hi Natalia,
I appreciate channels like yours and they helped me a lot in my learning journey! I started learning 3 years ago and went really hard core, studied 3 hours every day and did 500+ conversation classes on italki. I’ve always wanted to go to Korea but still have never been. This past year I kind of got burnt out with studying and just watched Korean TV and had conversations to maintain my level. But I stopped watching as many Korean learning channels because of that.

Since you made them too frequently and you also said in a video that they kinda restricted your time that you can spend with your friends. I think taking a break from them could make you feel a little better but I’m not very good at giving advice sorry lol. I would like to see more self study videos and can’t wait for that how to move to korea series!

All of the videos you want to make about what happens when you first arrive are something that would be so helpful! I'll definitely be looking out for those.
Honestly I haven't been watching the vlogs, but it's not because I don't enjoy them, I really do and I love seeing the new places and discovering locations I could visit for myself. For me it's a matter of time, and I can kid myself that watching language learning content is more helpful when I'm supposed to actually be studying XD
I enjoy seeing your content in general and seeing your journey through learning at a low level to someone who lives in Korea and speaks the language proficiently is a reminder to myself that it really is possible as long as I keep making the effort. I appreciate all of your videos and hope you carry on making content that you are happy with.

Hey Natalia, i hear you and your stress. It sounds like you'd rather be set up and have people come to your channel vs grow and evolve with you, regardless where they get on and off on the journey. Maybe think of having many followers vs lack of engagement as people building with you and collecting resources. People are trying to support you in the ways UA-cam allows. Please recognize that we can't always watch your content at the times you're posting either. I don't think you should internalize the 100k, but use this platform to share your joy and journey with others. This is not meant to be a space you feel pressured or that we follow you like a celebrity.. this should just be an extension of what's in your heart to share. Evolve and enjoy the process. ♡ we are all cheering you on and we can see the progress. The journey is part of this whole thing. Seeing you study to moving to Korea then where you will go next, is inspiring in and of itself. So it's very valuable to me to see that it's possible!
    All the best :)

    Hi Natalia!
I love how you were so transparent with us 💗 I subscribed back in 2020 at first because of the language learning content but after these two years I can definitely say i absolutely LOVE all your videos. Daily vlogs, travel vlogs, study content, whatever it is i really like your personality and content. I also really like your stories and how you share so much with us (especially Seoul tower 😂).
I 100% understand what you're saying about subscribers vs. views because even if I'm not a content creator I actually think about that contrast a lot, I really like how honest you were and I agree with you. I used to be attached to some channels here on UA-cam but at one point it's time to let go.
As for the vlogs, if you think a monthly vlog would be a way to document your time without pressuring I feel like that would be a great idea!
At the end of the day, a lot of us watch and love all your content and I'm excited to see what you do next! Lots of love from Portugal 🇵🇹

Hey!! just wanted to comment since i finally got round to watching this. Honestly either way you've got this, whether you get rid of vlogs completely or reduce them to make room for other content. Personally I'd love to see a monthly vlog, it'd be so cute to see a long round up of the month. I've loved your learning content and originally subscribed for that, and I'll admit i didnt watch the vlogs as frequently as the language vids, but for me that was because I was in Korea Sept-Nov 2022 and then had to leave unexpectedly, and seeing Korea content kinda stung. Honestly though, I've been working back through them and really appreciate the language school vlogs for if I ever go back, so don't feel the vlog stuff wasn't all helpful, I think maybe just a lot of people's priorities, especially over the last few months, might have shifted away from vlog style stuff a little. I think a 'what you need to know when moving to korea' series would be so so good if you did choose to pick that up!! Your channel is still useful and interesting and definitely adds to my life!! I hope you find some peace and happiness, and I look forward to seeing more content from you, as I know it is good content that I enjoy!! Best Wishes and I hope this long comment isn't too much xx

So as someone who found out about language school through your channel, and who has been watching you way before you moved to korea, I really appreciate your transparency.. like the how they treat foreigners video. That was a very down to earth and helpful video, like sooo many others you posted. I am a passive youtube watcher just because Im always busy, so although I watch and enjoy your vlogs I also love the informational content, because your very right about the lack of info out there. Especially since I want to go language school, Ive been really enjoying those. Honestly, I watch your videos because one, you seem very down to earth, and I love your energy. And two because of how intentional you are with your content. Like how you mentioned that the goal of your channel originally was to help out other korean learners. And even your vlogs have been pretty true to your vision to help since they inevitable show alot of cultural aspects of korea, which when learning a language that is so heavily influenced by culture is super important. Just do you girl. You do what you feel you need to do. Because, this is your channel. Im excited regardless for what you decide to post. Like you are the reason my korean is what it is at the moment. Thank you for the video and for talking about the hardships that many don’t mention when making UA-cam. I subscribed (I would like to say) right before you left for Korea for Korea University KLC. I couldn’t really find language videos I could relate to and see their journey first hand. Even though I came at a later time, I watched all your videos and felt really inspired by your Korean language journey. I think the one video that has always stood out to me the most was the one about you taking the TOPIK exam. Though I know it’s probably not the happiest video, I appreciated you showing even the downsides and the struggles to learning Korean. To me it’s the most genuine thing someone can do for others learning a language. To let others know it’s okay to not have everything right or to have some lows, but that it’s part of the journey. That really resonated with me so I subscribed. Anyways, you have helped me find resources I would have not been able to know myself. For example, the ATracker app is something I still use for a year and half into my own Korean language journey. I learned about the book Integrated Korean that has helped me a lot because you recommended it. I think the biggest one for me is using the app Italki. Your past videos explained about how you would meet online with your Italki teacher really helped a lot because it has improved my Korean significantly. I deal with social anxiety but I thought since you’ve had your Italki teacher I should try as well, so I did! For me as a person that’s a huge step for myself, haha. I don’t really talking to people all too much but my Italki teacher has made me really comfortable learning the Korean language. You said you will stick to your plan most likely and I would like to mention that I would really love if you do what you feel your heart is set on. If that’s making sure your channel focuses on helping others, I would greatly appreciate it! Your viewers trust your words because they do help us and it’s genuine. And like you mentioned in this video, most aren’t aware of Korean language school! I would love to do this soon for myself once I get a bit more comfortable with my anxiety. I’ve looked at a couple, but I wish I could find other videos for other institutions. I’d like to say thank you for taking us on that journey because I could see a glimpse on whether or not I would like to do it and it seems like a possibility! Your blogs are cool too and I enjoy discovering places in Korea I have never seen before, but I definitely agree it’s important to be present in life too (especially if you’re with your friends or family). Vlogs every once in a while are cool with me too! Thanks again, Natalia! I hope this helps even if it’s just a bit!

I'm here for whatever content makes you happy to make, your vlogs and the more sit-down informative videos have both helped me as someone who is saving up and planning to move to Korea for language school. Your vlogs really show how life is living in Korea as a foreigner, and your sit-down videos are helpful too for obvious reasons. Also, (As someone who has been studying Korean for almost two years) A lot of the study buddies I made when I began learning Korean stopped after a couple months because they gave up/ didn't have the time for it after realizing it's a big commitment (like around 90% of them) so that could also explain some of the Non watchers. However, whatever you do decide to do with your videos, I'm looking forward to watching them!

I just recently subbed to your channel mostly as encouragement that I can be good at Korean too. Its okay to feel how you feel rn because growing up sometimes comes with big questions and doubts about what the heck is going on in life. So I'm praying for you in this regard.
When it comes to content. I agree on making content you enjoy. If it's vlogs you enjoy you make vlogs. A whole other audience will come round who enjoy watching you take trips to different places in Korea. Tbh you videos have opened my eyes to so much of Korea I didn't even know. It also scares me as too why there is huge bodies of water in like every other city 🤔🤔 but it makes it exciting watching your videos.
And ofccc the language content will be helpful the keys to moving to kor pros cons docs needed etc. But if you feel like you won't be passionate about it then maybe make that the monthly things so that youtubbing doesn't feel like a chore more than it already does . You can even start teaching beginner Korean on italki. In another video you mentioned focusing on insta (I simply remember this cause I watched it yday) and if that's making you happy too then do that more. You could have like a content schedule to do a vlog a week, then a moving to Kor series every 2 weeks or something idk how people make schedules. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and even take a break to think it all through so that when you come back you're excited and ready to post what YOU enjoy because it's YOUR space and we enjoy growing with you.
I hope it all works out and you've got this! Congratulations for finishing uni and talking about this honestly and even posting it. You've got this 💪🏾🙏🏽💪🏾🙏🏽🩶

I have so many thoughts lol. I love this video as we don’t ever hear UA-camrs or influencers in general talk about the negative aspects of these popular “wins”, I thought you did a really good job as it’s something I haven’t heard many express before. As far as the subscribers to viewers thing, I honestly think a lot of it comes down to the algorithm, at least from my own experience I’ve had videos of UA-camrs I love watching and find value in just drop off my feed for months at a time until I realize I have to go search for them again (it’s not like I ever stopped finding value in their content, hope that makes sense). I am an avid vlog watcher I will admit, I find a lot of value in vlogs as a way to destress, unwind from work, and in general have so much fun watching what life is like in another part of the world! Having said that, I think if you find the balance that works for you, all of the video ideas you mentioned sounded really interesting and I would watch, especially if you cover the visa situation and how you transitioned from being a student to being able to stay there full time after school. Ok that’s it sorry for the long comment! ❤

Thanks for expressing how you feel about your channel and videos. Sadly I am one of those who used to watch a lot of your videos in the past and now not so much.
For me personally, I subscribed to you initially because of the language learning aspect. Seeing you improve in Korean, taking the TOPIK exam twice etc. I felt like I was on a journey with you. Hearing about the move to Korea for the language school, I was excited to learn more about it from the perspective of someone actually being in the country and experiencing it first hand. Granted I don’t plan to do it myself, but I saw it as another chapter in your language learning progress.
On to why I personally slowed down in watching. 1. I wasn’t seeing much of the course topics, initially yes, but after a while no. 2. Some of those videos you planned to make - as you mentioned in this video, as you kept saying you was going to make them I looked forward to them, however, not all came to reality so the usual Q&A that I did see I got bored of them. 3. As some have mentioned the frequent vlogging just isn’t my cup of tea, now and again is fine, but when it felt like it was becoming a vlogging channel I did think to myself whether I should unsubscribe or not. The reason I didn’t was because I wanted to see where you’re journey is going, what kind of life you plan on living while in Korea (or back in the US).
But like what most people have said, I like you as a person and in this day and age it’s important to know how to look after your mental health.

I will most likely never get to travel abroad, so I love the travel videos or just daily interactions. But initially, I came to find tips on learning the language. I think I need to go back to your earlier videos and start watching your journey from the beginning. All in all, coming from someone older, please never feel pressured or burdened by the opinions of others.

  • @bluecandies

Ok the only reason I’m giving my two cents is because you asked us to do so, otherwise I wouldn’t go out of my way to give my opinion on something so personal.
Thank you for being candid and open about this, it made me realise that I was right to follow your content.
I’ve been subscribed since your channel was a loooot smaller. The reason being I saw myself in you. I saw someone who as very determined to master the language, someone who was very diligent. I felt so frustrated over the years because it was so hard and lonely to go on this journey. Your advice was solid and mega helpful, unlike most channels, people, classes etc.
when you started to talk about being a language student I was so thrilled because I’ve wanted to do that for YEARS (but life didn’t allow me to yet).
Now when you started to focus on vlogs I wasn’t as interested in that content. I love vlogs and will indulge in them, but it’s not something I’ll consistently check. Meaning I’ll watch it here and then but I won’t be as active as an audience.
I know this is a very me thing, which is why I would never go out of my way to say this, you’re allowed to make whatever you enjoy making!
When you started to talk about the videos you were planning on making I literally stopped making dinner to pay attention. It almost made me tear up because that kind of information is GOLD. It’s so so useful, and so hard and confusing to navigate. I’ve moved countries as a student twice and I know how precious that is.
All this to say if you make that content there will DEFINITELY be an audience and a very grateful one too

I watch all your videos, even though I was initially subscribed for language learning content. I do like the language learning content more, but after watching you for quite some time I got to like your personality and that's why it's more important now that videos are from you than what kind of videos are those. Another reason I like language learning and useful content more is that because I am busy most of the time, -- this kind of videos you can watch on x2-x3 speeds, while the same doesn't apply for vlogs, as you need to chill and enjoy the slow pace.

I really appreciate this explanation of your mindset about subscribers and the impact they have on that feeling of pressure. For me, I was really, really into your content that was addressing the logistics and language learning that you seem to enjoy as well. I have not been watching your vlogs as regularly, not because I think they aren’t worth watching, I’m more drawn to watching more helpful-focused videos. It never occurred to me that my subscriber number not equally a view could add to the stress of a UA-camr I enjoy so much. 미안해요!
I guess I’m trying to say, I am welcoming this change and I respect you so much for this self awareness, insight and self advocacy. I will take any and all language learning content or cultural content you’ll give us! Im excited to learn with you ❤. You do you girl.
ALSO. I hear your conflicted feelings about your plaque, but you earned it regardless, girl. You don’t just fall into 100k subscribers and I think you’ll see that you’ve got the goods when you’re posting the content and the time frame that you feel comfy with. This was actually very interesting to watch for someone who has never thought about putting themselves in a UA-camr's shoes. For me, watching content usually happens for two reasons: you like the content or you like the person ( personally, I often need to like both to watch consistently). I often try to open and at least like the new videos by people I want to support (let's be honest, money is a thing and I want the people I follow to earn from my views the same way I pay for my Netflix subscription for instance) if I don't have time to watch it immediately. Having said that, there isn't a reason why I watch some content regularly or not, I am just very specific about what I need (e.g. if I am working I don't watch vlogs because I cannot watch, just listen) or what I feel like (if I am planning my next trip to Korea I will watch Korean content 24/7). I know several people who use UA-cam similarly and maybe don't watch a UA-camr they like for months, because that type of content doesn't suit them atm. Having said that, regarding your channel in particular, I watched some old video when I was actively looking for Korea-related content, and out of all the videos I watched I just really liked how you talk. My favourite type of content is just people sitting down and discussing stuff, especially if they're expats like me, so for me it's super important that I just enjoy the person's tone/voice/attitude. As much as I really like the vlogs (not just yours, in general) I will always find it harder to watch them consistently because I don't have enough time to sit down and enjoy them (although, watching them inspired me to start taking more videos of my experiences and sort of "put them together" to have a more accurate memory of my experiences, not to post but very nice to rewatch flr me personally!). If you intend to do more informative videos, that'd be great for me personally 😁 Especially if they're related to your expat experience, storytimes, q&a, anything like that. Like everyone said, it's your channel so whatever you feel it's right for the time being is the best decision ✨

I would definitely like for your videos to be a great mix of language learning, knowing stuff to live in Korea as well as vlogs because they are all so helpful in many ways. Just even with the language school vlogs alone, it helped so much to see what life can be like as a language student and not only that, but you traveling to different cities in Korea let us see different places we can visit and add to our "Korea bucket list". So the vlogs aren't bad at all! I have always seen your channel as one that would help others to learn Korean and go to Korea if they want to! And we need more advanced Korean learners like you to share stuff with us~
And about that other 99k+ subscribers, I can't say for all of them, but its possible that some subscribed to so many people and are stuck trying to catch up with all the content because that's exactly where I am right now, I just caught up with all of yours today (yay), but I still have tons more people I want to watch up their content.
One last thing, dont stress out about getting videos out every week, it's stressful enough to film and edit a video in the midst of many other things you want to do much less a ton, so no pressure!

(Long comment warning lol) Do whatever feels best for you! I know as a youtuber it can be hard to find the right content you want to post. And channels go through different content phases. All the videos you listed that you want to make are ones I 100% want to see as I am working towards coming to Korea. You have built credibility, so I know the information you post, say on the documentation that is needed, will give me the information I need and that is super valuable. You are thorough and your level of subscribers gives you a good base to answer and provide clarity about those common concerns. Also, as someone who is newer to your channel, that many subscribers shows me your credibility as a content creator.
However, your vlogs do have value as well! It is just different. I make lists of places I want to visit from those vlogs and it helps with my visualization process, so Korea seems more accessible. And through your channel, it shows your whole journey. From learning Korean, to actually going to Korea and living life there. That alone is super helpful. I would still love to see vlogs, even if they aren’t as frequent. As a fellow content creator, you have to make the content you want to share, so that way you don’t burn out. Put out the quality and type of videos you want to produce even if it is not as frequent. I will be here regardless cause I love your videos and you as a person!

Not going to lie, I subscribed because I am learning Korean and enjoy your sit-down conversations. I learned something interesting each time, whether it was about the Korean language or you. While I don't mind vlogs, I'm weird. I prefer videos that aren't around a bunch of people. I feel like too much is happening and I lose interest. That explanation probably didn't make any sense, sorry. But I still stream all your videos cause I am going to continue to support you!

I stumbled across your channel when I started researching best ways to learn Korean. Your learning Korean content was super useful, even if I did end up sucking BIG time at learning the language. Sigh. I loved your vlogs about language school and life in SK, I was alway so impressed with how often you posted considering you were in school. I did stop watching for a bit but not because I didn’t like your content, family stuff was going on and I stopped watching most things. Anything you post going forward I’m sure will be great and I can’t wait to catch up on the couple vids I’m currently behind on.

I can understand what you're saying and I'm sorry you're feeling that way. Something to keep in mind however is that a lot of people get busy and don't have much time to watch videos anymore. Personally, I'm super busy especially recently and so I don't get on here much anymore and I wish I could help support the channels that I love more than I'm already able to do. I love your content and I hope you start doing what you want without having to worry about what others might think. Please try to relax a little and taking some time to yourself to reflect on where you want to take your channel and how it might impact your mental health. I think I speak for most people watching this when I say that we are more concerned for your mental health rather than how many videos that you can get yourself to pump out in a week. (I hope everyone knows that this is well-intended and not meant to be rude)

Long thought process incoming! I guess I just want to say my thoughts back to you as well lol I'm one of your "ghost" subscribers I haven't watched every single one of your videos, and I rarely comment but I feel like your whole channel is of value to me as someone who is mildly interested in learning Korean as a third language and as someone who dreams of going there one day even if just for one week.
Initially I subscribed because you have a lot of good information on this channel and resources that I haven't seen anywhere else plus your point of view as a foreigner is helpful to me. At first, I really enjoyed your language school vlogs because yes to a degree it was educational escapism to me, but, once your vlogs became more like daily life going here or there not talking about classes or having more informative content I stopped watching as much because I figured oh, I'll just save it for when I go to Korea, I'll write down the names of the places and visit myself. Eventually I began to cherry pick the vlogs I watched and the one's I did not based on the tittle plus how much free time I had. I prefer the vlogs where you show aspects of Korean life like transportation or when you talk about the paperwork that you had to do because there's not a lot of that out there like you said.
I guess I could unsubscribe if that's what is better for you, but I'll still come by and see what you have uploaded recently and watch a video or two. Because of this I just preferred to keep your videos on my subscribed page.

When it comes to unsubscribing, if you're watching my content, even if it's cherry picking, then you are an active subscriber to me and aren't that target audience of my "please unsubscribe" plea haha The subscribers I'm asking to unsubscribe are the ones that don't watch my content anymore and know they probably won't in the future either~ The ones that have completely lost interest in my content. New and old content~ The ones that are no longer interested in Korea-related content at all~

This is just something that I think would be cool. It could also help you with the content you mentioned you wanted to make, but maybe see if you could do a colab with an English teacher that speaks Korean and compare the experiences. I think it could be really interesting to see and hear both sides of being a Korean language student and also being a foriegn English teacher. Plus, then the visa and all the steps to doing each could be discussed. I've been in Korea for three years and that would have been content I would have loved before coming and even sought out while being here. Also, it would be nice not to sugar coat the negative aspects. I think a lot of people try to be kind while discussing the topics but a lot of the realness gets lost in it. There are always ups and downs and doesn't matter which country or how long you visited for.

Hi Natalia I have watched your videos for a long time I found your language learning videos helpful and inspiering in my own language journey, and to be honest I have enjoyed some of your vlogs but to be fair not everyone was my cup of tea but I love that you share your life and experience with us and even though I did not love all the vlogs I would feel quite sad if you were to stop making vlogs all together. I think (and this is just my opinion as a viewer who is a bit older) I think what you need is to find a balance that suites you and brings you joy between making the videos you wanted for your chanel but also making the vlogs you love to make as your memory 'box'. Views are important as it is your job as a youtuber but your personal happiness and mental health is by far more important and please remember you don't need to be perfect or right for everybody you just need to do what is right for you. I pop in and out and have watched your videos here and there for the past couple of years, and I enjoy the variety in your content overall! I also enjoy going back and referencing some language learning tips from before I followed you! I admire you for reflecting on your content and caring deeply about your purpose and impact. 💜 I think it’s good to take a broader bird’s eye view and allow yourself to create more intensive projects at longer intervals if it’s going to have a lasting impact and value (just like Namjoon wants his art (music/work) to have longevity hehe) and if that’s where your instincts and passions are leading you. But still allow yourself to make the fun vlogs between!! (Like RunBTS! sorry, ARMY analogies took over haha)
ANYWAYS I’m curious about 2 topics:
    1) cost of living/studying in language school, different work opportunities including but not limited to teaching, etc. (the practical stuff if someone wanted to save up and support themselves)
    2) age dynamics socially as a student/foreigner in Korea - like if you are well past typical college age, how is it making friends and peers? I think you touched on this while living in the dorm and I could see myself relating in general!

If you want to post vlogs to create like a little archive of memories for yourself in the future, then you should do that and not worry abt how many people you "disappoint" with it. Like... don't regret not posting vlogs one day if that is what you want to do. However I don't think you should feel pressured to post like every week or ever other week or whatever, like you said, just post whenever😄. And if you want to post more informative content, then do that, whatever works for you. I hope this makes sense bc it is 1 in the morning and it feels like I forgot all words in the english language😄. Anyways, I know that I'll keep watching your videos no matter what you post because I just like your vibe in general, it's like a very calming place to come to when I need to unwind a little.

    Just some thoughts
    - I definitely understand on a smaller level, my other channel has a similar issue but with about 1% of the numbers 😂, most people subscribed because of a type of video I only make rarely. It is really demoralizing.
    - I have watched some vlogs, but not all - a weird personal thing is that when other people are traveling or living abroad and I’m stuck at home, sometimes I find it really sad to watch 😅 so I see your thumbnails and I’m like “go Natalia! Live your dreams!” But I don’t always watch.
    - HOWEVER, I would absolutely go back and watch if I ever plan a trip to Korea. So I think a lot of the travel stuff will continue to get watched as people search for it.
    - I would love to see language learning content come back! You could even combine with vlogs and show both lifestyle stuff and what you’re studying/doing in Korean. Those are my favorite videos to watch and make.
    - I definitely think it would be ok to not post weekly if you feel like that is limiting you.
    ♥️

There are surprisingly few videos about packing to move to South Korea for more than just a semester abroad. As someone who is moving for at least a year next month, I have been reallllllly struggling to find videos that help me know what to pack and what I can easily find once I arrive. I've watched your videos since you were a language learning channel, and I've never felt disappointed in the content that you've put out. I enjoyed the language learning, I enjoyed the language school vlogs despite not planning to go to language school in Korea, and I've also enjoyed the Korean Tourism Org videos and seeing you travel. In the end, it's your channel and it's your life. Something like UA-cam should never be a stressed more than it is an outlet for your creativity and what you want it to be. There are a ton of us who will stick around for whatever you make.

I remember in one of your videos, you mentioned that it was because you wanted to be able to look back on those moments and share what you like with others. Also, as someone who watches all of your content, I'd be happy no matter what you decided. One vlog a month seems like a good idea so that you could still record your life and travels in Korea, but I could also understand if you wanted to stop for a while to make more time for the projects you want to complete. I've been watching your channel since 2017/2018 and you were the first language UA-camr I got to know. I really love watching your videos about learning Korean. But I cannot say I watch vlogs that much (haven't watched them all but some of them I did). I've been to Korea twice and when I watch your vlogs I really miss some things. And also I don't know whether I will visit the country in the future. What I like about them is that you always post aesthetic clips and it's eye-pleasing, like from a cafe or panoramic view (I don't know the correct term).
It would be really nice to see more study content and even "study with me videos" I really miss those. Even they would have like 13 minutes. And yes, there are not many people I know, or on the internet that would learn Korean on an advanced level so it would be definitely helpful and interesting for more people than me. And also shows us that it's possible.
But. Whatever you decide, I hope you will be happy and just do what you like to do. I will stay here and watch your videos (maybe not all of them, but most of them). Just take your time. 😊😊

Hi! Long time sub here. (Thoughts and ideas about channel content below!) I've been following your channel for a long time, since you were at less than 20k. I have dropped off watching your channel a bit because I tend to gravitate towards the more language focused videos but I wanted to jump in here and say you should make what you want to make. If you like vlogs, you should vlog! If you want to do informational videos you should do that. Don't feel like there is a right or wrong way to do this youtube thing!
As for things id love to see more of, I would love to see you do more language related videos. The research and script heavy videos you brought up sound awesome and i look forward to them! But I'd also be just as happy, possibly happier, with chill chat style videos. I love your long sit down videos. I like just feeling like I get to hang with you and geek out about languages. So maybe to mix it up and to give you breaks from the hard videos you could give us casual story times about your language learning, how it feels to have advanced vs intermediate language skills, progress videos, videos where you just talk about cool words or idioms you learned and want to geek out about etc.
This was a crazy long post made days late, so you probably won't see it, but if you do just know that we're here and we're supporting you!

It's so wild because I literally have not used UA-cam while signed in for a very long time. I saw your new video by chance because I went to find another video and it showed in the corner that I was actually still signed in my email that happens to be linked to that UA-cam account that I subscribed to you a little over a year ago. Your videos were some of the first ones I watched on my journey to learning Korean. I'm not a social media person, so I don't use Instagram or Twitter or even FB. I use to come to UA-cam occasionally but this site became disgusting in a way that left me just NOT signing in or using it. I would cringe getting sent here from another website. I was like even if I watch a video I'm not logging in that's for sure. I don't leave comments. This is the first UA-cam comment I'm leaving in years.
But I always remembered you and your content and would check in time to time. I saw you were doing mainly vlogs now and I'd go omg she's living the DREAM I want. But then I'd leave. I figured you had turned into a vlogger and there is NOTHING wrong with that, but I didn't see a lot of learning content anymore. I honestly thought you stopped that and it was the end of the learning Korean era stage of your channel. I expected any time I went searching for your content that the older videos would be deleted and the channel would be phased into something else like so many have done before. And I wasn't mad about it because I have grown up with YT and I know content creators are under pressures like nothing we have seen before. It's why I don't engage with social media in general truthfully. But I was so happy you kept up your older content. I was like oh this is like a little treasure trove of goodies and I hope she'll keep them up even if she leaves to do other things content wise!
I strongly believe you can do both. Education videos and vlogging! Not to be corny on the main, but I always think of this quote I saw, hence my name. We're like gems and we all have different aspects that can be brought out at different times. You're a person wit a channel yeah. Your channel doesn't have to fit these awful little boxes UA-cam and social media puts on you. You don't have to be one or the other. You can be whatever you want when you want. Your schedule your content your whatever. Numbers and algorithms and hit vids etc etc I don't know how ANY of you do it. I always say I can't. I wouldn't. I don't. I admire anyone in this life who deals with it. It's horrendous.
Social media is a wonderful tool. But it has truly become a game of numbers and likes etc etc and it's why I don't use it. It's why I don't bother subscribing to people because I don't have said account to do said action. Which is awful in this age because we need said accounts to support people we love. To show others we DO care. It's a catch 22.
When you showed your plaque I was like, aww man. I know you're grateful. But I also would NOT want that. Just know that your content when you first started out showing how you learned Korean and how others can go about it? It really did give me an aha! moment.
I was listening to BTS and rapping along for fun and having the time of my lil life in my free time in 2021, and went looking for tips to understand Korean, and found your videos. And you kept saying language school and showing how far you've gone with that. And I went OMG? I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS. I'M SO GOOD AT LEARNING LANGUAGES? THIS WAS AN OPTION?
I mean I've been on the pre-med/science path since I was a kid! Everyone pushed medical and science on me because that was my passion, and I had the grades for it. Case closed. Pre-med track you go. I learned languages in my free time as a hobby. Never thought much about it. I'd overhear conversations in other languages, translate it in my head, try to keep a blank face because the things you HEAR in another language when the person thinks you don't understand... and go about my day.
I would make a random comment out the blue with someone saying I hate the subtitles on movies because the translation is wrong and others really would look at me like?? How do you even know that they are wrong? And I point out various things and the person would look at me oddly and say oh you can get paid for that. I would laugh and shrug going ok. Never even thinking about it further.
It wasn't until I started learning Korean by myself and seeing YOUR videos that I was like, oh. I really can do that. And I'd be happier. At this point in my life when I had that aha moment I was ordering scrubs for a job at a pediatrician office as a medical assistant and I was dreading the next work week. I was burnt out and didn't want to go to a higher medical ring of the ladder like I had the long term goal of. I kept thinking, I've wasted a good chunk of my life working towards a career I don't even like anymore.
I actually never want to work in the medical field again. I want to go to Language school. And be a translator. Hell of an epiphany to have at 30 I tell ya that. 31 now. Hoping to go this year after I get some health problems sorted.
You helped me to that epiphany. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Honestly. I journal a lot and write a lot how BTS inspired me to stand up for myself and love myself etc, but you're on the list too. You're amazing. Whatever you do with this channel, you're gonna be amazing I know that.
