Way~~ more QUALIFIED !!. -- You're so much more Korean than I am, though I was born and raised here in Korea.
I've never traveled to any of the places you've visited, let alone any islands.
I knew you were smart, but never realized you are this perfect at explaining things to newbies,, no,, even to the inhabitants like myself feeling like being thoroughly guided. // 나탈리아님은 정말, 모~든 면에서 확실하고, 믿을 만한 분 같아요!.
Hello Natalia! Your hair looks beautiful in this video 😊
Thank you 🥹🤍 I went to the salon that morning haha
This is perfect, thank you!
I guess I'll have multiple options then since I'm learning Japanese already and will stay there before coming to SK, so my Japanese should be quite good by then and either English or Japanese translations will work ^^
Yes! After English, Chinese and Japanese are the most popular foreign languages in Korea!
I was amazed at how much more foreigner friendly Korea has become! Visited last year and was like “wwwooooe”. Also the amount of bikers and bike lanes I saw? 👍
U means last year coming Korea trip I hope it was good. haha I hope not issue with talking only English in Korea. Korean can speak English but not that fluently speak English. some people good but some people not good but only trip level can handle it
@@boomyitv I speak Korean. But it was much more difficult in the past. I noticed there’s a lot more help available in English now. Thanks for the comment!
@@WhitneyChakara your welcome
I saved this video for my next long vacation in Korea - which is now lol Loved this video! As a non-native English speaker (so I am very used to people not speaking my native language at all when I am abroad), I can say that Korea has been surprisingly tourist-friendly to navigate. Sure, you need to focus and make some efforts, but everyone is so willing to help and make a great use of technology to facilitate communication 😊
This was so helpful! I know very basic Korean, so this has put my mind at ease for my first trip to Korea. 😊
Hi Natalia !! I would like to know what options are there if i want to move to korea. I already know that you can move there as a student but i'd like to know other options. Thank you so much for making videos!!! I really appreciate them ❤
Thank you so much for this informative video Natalia, you’re always super helpful & it’s honestly the main reason I subscribed to you in the first place. I’ll definitely be referring back to this as I plan for my trip to Korea next year☺️
The food looks so good and I'm watching this directly before bed lol Info was good, so happy when you upload :D
I made sure to pick only the best food clips 😂😂 Kuz yum 😂😂😂😂
This vlog is not only enjoyable but also informative between you are beautiful and you look amazing❤
Great vlog Natalia!
Your hair looks really great😍
Thank you~ The salon I went to that day did a really nice job~ 🥹🤍
Hi Natalia, thank you so much for this video! All the info and you saying 'you'll be ok' was the final push I needed to decide to join my friend on a trip to South Korea next year! I've been learning korean anyway, but knowing there are things to help me when my mind inevitably goes blank is a nice comfort. Thanks again 💜
Great info video!
Hope it was helpful~!!
I'm coming to Korea in 3 months and will be there for 7 weeks!!! I'm so excited and nervous! I will be going through a korean language program in Hongdae💕 i'm mainly nervous because it's my first time being completely on my own
thank you so much!!! this is so helpful and reassuring :)
I'm so glad!!

I slightly struggled with the transportation system, but it was definitely the best transportation I’ve ever seen! I wasn’t a big fan of the taxi because it cost more than I did to take the train from the airport to Seoul 😅, but I was too chicken to take the subway when I got there.
Definitely worth getting the Korean phone plan because it helped with traveling a lot smoother.
I got super lucky and stayed with my friend(who is basically my little sister) but I was super afraid to use the little Korean I did know.
The only time I struggled with a cafe/restaurant was when I was on my own at star field and went to the cafe there where I was handed a buzzer and I walked out of the cafe to the side to be out of the way and when my buzzer went off I walked back in and one of the workers started yelling at me. I got super flustered and grabbed my coffee and walked out of the mall all together to calm down 😅 I guess I wasn’t supposed to leave the area, but I didn’t want to be in the way (I feel like I’m really tall and large so for me it’s easy for me to get in the way)
I’d say overall, Seoul was super easy to get around not knowing a lot of Korean, but it definitely helps knowing at the Hangul and the basics.
10:17 after you hit "request" it comes up with a screen asking for you payment. the options are "kakao t point" or "credit/debit card". hit "apply" without selecting anything. then hit "request" again
this happened to me in gangneung so i was confused for a moment cause i thought i HAD to choose one. but you dont :)
i just rewatched that part. i didnt try to swipe the screen. i just hit "apply" without making a selection lol so thats an alternative i guess🤣
Lol you found a cheat code 😂😂
@@NataliaGarza apparently🤣 i didnt know how else to get out of the menu so i just hit apply. my lang partner doesnt use the app cause he has a car so he was also confused. i hit request again to see if i missed something, but it called the taxi instead of bringing the menu up again lol magic~
I'm still sorry for the poor young guy (that maybe even was new to the job, because someone was with him) that had to sell me a train ticket. I already had a screenshot prepared from Naver Maps to show him the exact tickets I want, but stupid me didn't realise that if it's not in Hangeul, he might still struggle (what he did).
Next time I prepared in Hangeul but still had to show on a calendar if I really want a ticket on that day (and not today). They really make sure that they don't give you any wrong tickets 🙂
I've been using the Seoul Subway app for the past two days, and have not found it as helpful as I'd like it to be. I'd be interested in your review of it in a later video.
Actually I've been playing around with it for the past 30 minutes. It's a lot better than what I initially thought. I was trying to tap on the information, whereas you have to swipe up. Then all the transport connection information is displayed
I think I have kind of a bad (?) luck when travelling… when I went to Korea last summer, a lot of places (even cafes) I went to didn’t have a English menu so I had to translate everything for my sister who don’t speak Korean. Tbh I don’t know if it’s because I spoke a little bit of Korean to them but I had only once a server talk to me in English, even if they saw me struggling to understand something in korean. It might have to do with the fact that I barely went to 명동, 이태원 or 홍대, but the experience I had was that it was difficult for someone not speaking Korean doing activities or ordering food. On the other hand, I saw a lot of foreigners who seemed to do just fine not speaking a single word, but it might have to do with where you go (or maybe I have a really bad luck and only met people who didn’t spoke English)
I assume the people asking this question haven't ever visited a non English speaking country. Of course you can visit non-English speaking countries. It presents unique challenges, surprises, fun etc. Like when I went to Seoul last October and walked a couple miles to buy mosquito repellent... then on the way home I stopped at the convenience store 100 ft from my room to buy a snack and they charged me for the mosquito repellent I just walked so far to buy. I tried to explain to them that this was mosquito repellent and you can't buy it at a convenience store and I definitely already bought it somewhere else. I thought I convinced them after much arguing but I looked at my receipt after leaving and.. nope.. they charged me. I didn't really think they sold this stuff there as it was one big *** can but later I went back and looked.. yes they did sell it. I guess eventually their computer will tell them they sold more cans of mosquito repellent than they had in stock.
At least it wasn't very expensive. And this sort of thing only happens to me I think anyway.
❤ love from india

I want to know if there is a list of restaurants on the internet for Seoul where I can eat alone. I heard so many times that eating alone in Seoul is not so much excepted. Some restaurants simply won’t seat one if there are not two people eating/ paying together. Is that true?
Hi Natalie!
I really want to visit Korea but I’m a bit worried about the food because I’m vegetarian. How difficult is it, to get vegetarian meals in Korea?
Thank you so much, your video is very informative!
Not that hard just go Myeongdong have vegetarian or just go KBQ restaurant just eat vege stuff also have vegetarian restaurant
I really want to learn Korean but I know the best place to learn it is in Korea😔
You can always go for the second best way to learn Korean.

@@elchapoant8253 Here on UA-cam there are tons of people who make content teaching Korean. Talk To Me In Korean, Miss Vicky, and Billy Go are the most popular channels for learning Korean at the moment.
I was thinking it would be cool to take a language program but I’m in my mid thirties. Would you say that I’m too old 😅. I always feel like I see younger people going to Korea for them.
I did a three week course last year in seoul at age 34!! You're not too old, go for it!
Hey! I‘m almost 32 & l‘m about to take part in a language program for 3 weeks (September/October) in S.Korea. This is so last minute but I‘m doing it anyways. I also feel pressured because I don’t know any Korean & I feel a little embarrassed 😅. I will choose „homestay“ & I know that normally younger people do that! But I want to do it anyways 😂

what about being a forigner and trying to get an apartment?I would assume most real estate agents or landlord dont speak much english, how would someone english speaking attempt to get an apartment?
some estate agents is speak English and little bit hard to get home here bc China copy the America ambassador passport before like that issue in Korea that happen little bit more check it.
I think young gen in rare foreigners place also can speak English if you use kindergarten level just full English struggling. just say water like that understand
Please just say "destination", you've said "final destination" so many times I feel like I'm in a horror movie T_T
I will continue to speak as I normally do thanks
