I’ve Heard Kim Over A Thousand Times Since The Album Came Out. And I Never Realized, The End Of “Kim” Is The Beginning Of “97 Bonnie & Clyde” Am I The Only One That Didn’t Know That!!??? 🤯🤯🤯
Me personally, I've always liked the Marshall Mathers LP better, although the Slim Shady LP is also really, really good. But MMLP has always held a special place in my heart. My top 3 on this album are probably the way I am, criminal and kill you.
Ummm- Slim Shady LP wasnt all his slim shady persona, the Marshall Mathers LP isn’t all in his Marshall Mathers persona and The Eminem Show isn’t all in his Eminem flow. That’s not how it works. Eminem is his rap name. Slim Shady is his alter ego. Marshall Bruce Mathers is his government name. You get all 3 usually on all of his albums, sometimes on even 1 song you can have all 3 personas. Eminem is the lyrical show off technically good rapper Slim Shady is the shock rap, crazy, horror core, outlandish one Marshall Mathers is more personal and story telling
Everyone has their favorite album, but this is not just my favorite Em album of all-time, but my favorite of ANY album all-time!! Straight 🔥 for me!! Idk what, if anything, that says about me but I'm cool with it.
Darkness i would say is better than Stan or at least on the same level. The whole song is a double entendre line for line while telling an amazing story
Kim is a prelude to 97 Bonnie and Clyde from the slim shady LP Ends with dragging body 97 Bonnie and Clyde starts with dragging the body He connects a couple of his songs throughout different albums
Idk bro, The Eminem Show is another flawless no skip album for me. I may be biased though bc Eminem Show was MASSIVE when I was at the perfect age. My older bro was heavy on the SSLP and MMLP but he never let me listen since I was too young. But I was seriously lucky enough to hear Infinite before ALL of them. I was born in 1990 and I was only like 9 or 10. I’ll never forget those car rides with my big bro man. He had like a huge 100 CD book that I used to flip through salivating at it like it was candy lol. He had an original Infinite CD that I later on ended up borrowing and LOSING 😩 😭 even though The Eminem show was a better album as a whole project, Infinite will always be my favorite Eminem album just bc of the memories and it being my first time ever listening to Eminem. Infinite, 313, Open Mic, Never too Far, It’s ok, and Tonite are my favorite tracks that I still bump regularly today. I literally learned all of the lyrics to the Infinite track last year and killed it on Karaoke at my bros house to impress him 😂 he sadly doesn’t listen to rap anymore, but I inspired him to purchase an Infinite Vinyl. It kills me because he was the person who made me obsessed with rap. I’m always trying to send him rap tracks and newer Eminem but he never listens 🤦♂️ we used to regularly bump Red light district/word of Mouf from Ludacris, Nelly, Nappy Roots, Mystikal, Eminem, DMX, OutKast, D12, and so many more. Maybe he’ll one day miss rap and fall back in love with it 🤷♂️
I have The Eminem Show right there with MMLP. Soldier, Till I Collapse, white America, Business, Cleaning out my Closet, Square Dance, Sing for the Moment, Superman, Hailie’s Song, Say What you Say, Stimulate….so many damn classics. I will say though, MMLP has my favorite Eminem song on it which is “The Way I Am”. That track is timeless. Its crazy when people say he’s overrated, yet if one of their favorite rappers like a JayZ, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick, MF DOOM, Tyler the Creator or ANYONE else wrote those tracks and spit them the way that Eminem did, they would be calling them the greatest to EVER DO IT. All of those rappers I mentioned are amazing (except Drake IMO), but non of them wrote and spit tracks like Way I Am, Cleanin out my closet, Criminal, Marshall Mathers, Till I Collapse, Lose Yourself, Soldier….etc. Eminem is special and is one of a kind. I don’t really ever get goosebumps when I listen to those other artist, but Eminem makes the hair on my arms and back of my neck stand like Dracula yep. His emotion, rage/anger, wittiness, cadences, deliveries, flows, and overall rawness is unmatched. He attacks beat harder than anyone else. The only other MCs who do something similar is DMX, Busta, Big L or Treach from Naughty by Nature.

What’s even crazier about Stan is that Bad Guy (you’ll hear it when you get to MMLP2) exists too
No other rapper has that in their catalog

Bought the SSLP in The Wiz, Chronic 2001 in Blockbuster, and The MMLP in Record Factory. Simple times.
The Puffy bars just keep aging better and better with time like a fine wine
Darkness i would say is better than Stan or at least on the same level. The whole song is a double entendre line for line while telling an amazing story

18 when this came out, still the greatest rap/hip hop album ever….and it’s even close
