Taj is like 67 years old. Still moves like a cat.
a 67yo cat
😂😂😂😂
No way hes 60
@@noigala he is 37
Bruh who believes this lmao
Hakeem would be proud of Taj
The dream shake
Taj Gibson getting in that work
A video speaks a thousand words. Footwork so underrated. Hakeem took it to levels that will never be matched. That is why Kobe asked Hakeem to show him his moves and he did just that. Both examples of ultimate greatness!
Man why is there almost zero of this in the league now? I miss players getting exposed on the block. Even guards back in the day would post you up if they thought you were soft. Now 3 pointer from the logo lol
Sad but true
I feel like this is where the WNBA could really capitalize. They clearly don’t have the flashiness, athleticism or even overall skill of most NBA players but that doesn’t mean their fundamentals can’t be on point.
@@Simon_Sez That is a brilliant point. Imagine what a WNBA MVP with footwork like Hakeem Olajuwan would do for the sport
@@shaungbm3861
Thanks, that’s why I never agreed with lowering the hoop... there’s so much entertaining talent in the NBA without dunking. Just look at this years MVP. Jokic is far from the most athletic guy. Even a runner up in Steph Curry isn’t dunking much. Kyrie and Trae Young are still dazzling in the playoffs and do 99% of it without dunking. I’ve never understood why we couldn’t someday see similar players in the WNBA
Because a 3 is worth more than a 2 and most coaches run layup or 3 schemes, it’s some posting up but unless you have a great post player you’re at a disadvantage, vying the fact that there are a lot of decent post defenders
The first guys footwork was really good
Taj Gibson NBA player
Casual Don, dont remember them drose bulls team
Taj Gibson
🔥
The first guy?! Man I must be getting old
The second guy walked.
You mean prior to the bounce? Yeah maybe but the pivot move was smooth
@@markcruz359you’re on point. im not calling the first move off the catch a travel though, too nitpicky
The last one is a good move, if done right. As he did it, it's a (kind of sneaky, depending on the ref/situation elsewhere on the court) travel. He picks it up before he spins to his second (his right) foot, so he's already established a pivot (left) foot. So the left foot can't move anymore once he shoulder shimmies back the other way. Taking one more step to spin around at that point is just walking out of a pivot, not a second step off the dribble. It's a travel as done here, which is part of why it looks so impressive, combined with how fluid his body control is. He's gotta wait to actually pick up the dribble til his second foot on the spin plants. Then he can shoulder shimmy and turn either way. Myself and numerous people I've played with have done this move for years. That's not the move; that's a travel. Allowing him to do it this way in practice sessions is probably doing him a disservice cuz he's literally cheating the move.
Taj looked nice, though.
Travel?
Not true, he did not end his dribble until both feet were on the floor simultaneously(right before he goes into the shoulder shimmy) thus he can make his right foot the pivot and do an up and under move ✅
@@40441gogoit was close, but he has the ball turned over in his hand and only his left foot is set at that point. Either needs to be neither or both feet on the floor when he flips that ball on top of his hand. In real time, with no replay, he's close enough where he might get away with it, though.
Naw
Taj looking like a star player against amateurs ♥️🤣
No one in todays NBA has that kinda of footwork except for Jokic
I was thinking the same lol he doesn't do this on the court but it looks nice
That footwork is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bell working on things he’ll never use in a game
Well definitely not, anymore. When was his last nba appearance?
Am I the only one that watch this like 5 times amazed at the craft of the first guy
That’s Taj Gibson. Played with D-Rose. He’s a fuckin beast.
@@jdsarge3695wow ok wow *WOW*
The second guy with the hesi in the paint was smooth.
The second guy wasnt also half bad
@@ricardooconnor2362 thats a dream shake
Taj, Put him in the spin cycle! - Stacey King
Taj really like that, Top tier nba bigs feet work
Liking this just because it’s taj Gibson is my civil duty as an illinois res
Travel at the end . He wasn't paying attention
Ong he don’t know wtf he doin 😂
Why is the guy with the mask always running away from the hoop? 😂 STAY BETWEEN YOUR GUY AND THE HOOP!! 😭😭
If i did that, my friends would say its travel 😂
Yep the 2nd move he shuffled both feet!
Taj has the best poster on my boy DWade
Jordan Bell traveled more in that clip than people who took $20 spirit flights
He didn’t travel
@oo70mar both feet gotta be down when he picks the ball up. His weren't. Only his left was. He shimmies back the other way, then walks right out of his pivot foot. He missed the move. It was a smooth looking travel, but get that right toe down before you pick it up, youngsters...
@oo70mar i think you gonna get called for this a good percentage of the time. I saw the right foot up, ball in hand, left foot established right away. He was smooth enough with it where he'll get away with it sometimes. Guess we'll have to see if he does it, & does it the same in a game...
@oo70marhis left foot is picked up before he dribbles. that’s a travel
Travel
But the defender was like a paid actor biting on all the moves!!! Scripted!!!
Simple Basketball defense, Never leave ur Feet for Fakes 💯 Simple Basketball
They're practicing moves that you almost never see or will never see them do in a game.
모두가 하킴처럼 공격을 원하지만 수비는 안한다.
Traveling
he ain't even doin this in game lol, all them drills in the off-season wasted
He's the worst defender ever 😅😅
Where is he running to every time you fake pump 😂 the rims behind you 😅
As a former post player it’s nice to see clips of guys working on actual post moves. Not just bigs trying to work on their guard skills.

@@tallcip65 Cap is in lying
@@lemondrop8203 yeah dipshit, but what did I say that was a lie? I stated an opinion, how can an opinion be a lie?
Nice moves but isn't the third one a travel
Gibson is a machine
The defender is also very tall...
Was that a travel on Jordan Bell? Idk that move didn’t look right lol
Shit when I use to play ball every one of those footworks would have been a travel.
Excellent footwork
Old school post up player!
Lmao Jordan Bell switched pivot foots
@Brandon Dayes it’s actually sad people don’t know the basic fundamentals..
Yeah, it's a walk. If you are claiming that he is keeping is dribble before establishing his last pivot look at his hand on the ball..it's under it. That establishes his first picot foot.
Admittedly it's fast and smooth. Probably need to verify it under slow motion
@@wavveyyvibez1675 That's a travel.
@@WeFreestyleForever agreed
I thought it was a travel as well
This is fundamental footwork w the olajuwom dream shake attempt at the end lol. It looks like travel but he did land on both feet before the fake/shimmy so either foot can be a pivot.
No. He *meant* to, but he didn't.
Super beautiful beautiful super
You can't lift a pivot foot after a drop step. The last one was a travel.
No its not. Its not a travel because its in motion, if that was the case almost every move done in the league or highschool would be a travel
@@ps-smash If that's not a travel, then they changed the rules. Idk I don't follow the current rule book updates. Must be something new then. Because lifting your pivot foot after a drop stop WAS always a travel 100% of the time.
@@WeFreestyleForever In the post its not. It has never been, but if its beside being in the post then its being called
@@ps-smash every move done in american's highschool is travel lol
last one def travel, he lifted the pivot foot and landed on it
Defence needs some work....
Last one is a clear cut travel.
Last was a travel or not?
Aw my boys getting ready for the big 3 i see.
The best offensive post footwork I’ve ever seen was by Kevin McHale. Bar none.
Second was Hakeem.
🎉🎉Beautiful video precious friend 🎉🎉❤
Looks good, but D is definitely practice D
2nd guy changed his pivot foot. Travel
Smooth... Love doing that kinda footwork! When u get older that's what u gotta use when u lose speed 😂
That's NOT Teaching.
That's taking HIGHT ADVANTAGE.. My Shooter is TALLER than Your Shooter.
Compared to an average Joe, Taj really looking nimble. But on the NBA court, he's definitely an old head😂
Did second guy hop step? Looks like it could’ve been a travel but if it was actually a hop step I may be wrong
I knew for years hakeem would get his respect..finally lol!!
Red hoodie travelled
Since when is Andrew tate a g at basketball
What is this quality bruh 😭😭😭😭
Wish this was longer and they broke it down slow
Hakeem will always have the best footwork ever!!
Nice spin but those shoes glued to my eyes can't stop staring 👁👁
❤❤❤Nice video my amazing friend
Watch Kevin mchale
That's tough
USC Trojans Baby💯L.A Southern California is my Birthplace Trojans All Day✅
Very nice! Quick decisions & smooth movements!
Bro fundamentally sound with his feet Taj Gibson USC Trojan
up and under is my favorite to score points
And these are the scrubs of the NBA 😢
Mr. Gibson posts up like a wall then floats like a feather..
I swear 2k used to make Taj abysmal on defense.
The guy defending doesn't even stretch his arms😂 for the rest, good moves
Taj Gibson Fort Greene Brooklyn's Finest!.......
Last one was a travel, go crazy
❤❤🎉🎉🎉😎😎⛹️♂⛹️♂
agan!......horrible, horrible ball protection by offensive player when he is spinning and turning around. Should easily have been swiped off had this been 1980s and 1990s physical defensive era.
...Taj Gibson💛❤💛❤✌🏾 #USC #Trojans #FightOn
Hoodie traveled twice
Good examples of simple basic moves. None of those traveling, exhibition, show time, and poor fundamentals videos.
I've always liked Taj, he's one of those players you know will give you a solid game everytime they step into the court.
Taj's footwork is great..over stepping the non pivot foot slightly though.
Great moves but we need some contact.
Red sweater guy walking around the planet holy shit. Didn’t even look good. Whomever says otherwise don’t know basketball
Even Taj Gibson would give you buckets all day every day. 11-0
Watch old Kevin McHale footwork.
There’s saying footwork but it was called travel when I grew up but they teaching each steps not footwork 😂
They are so good in practice game but in actual game they can't do that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol that's too many moves , lol my Coaches taught 0nly 0ne m0ve and stay on the Floor lol .
Taj should be doing that in real life but he's not😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just dont get it,why do they soft defence,in a practice?i mean, dont practice like its a practice, practice like its a real game, with real def, real speed,.,
Taj is eligible to teach footwork to the young legs out there. Just dont forget to use THE RIGHT HAND when you lay the ball up fellaz to use your body and protect your ball so you make sure you wont be rejected by a 2nd player coming from the blind side.
Defensive mind tell me when he spin close that distance between you and the guy. So close that when he put the ball down and he will it should be within reach of disturbance. If not he still has to adjust to get around. Not enough defensive minds out here. Thank me later. Another defensive bonus. If a guy can shoot over you because he has better lift. Attack the ball while still in his hand. Just a tap or two is sufficient. Its makes them nervous bringing up threw that zone. Timing would be off. It’s all about the 1 , 2 game in all sports. Running back fake off a 1,2 count and so does guys doing a crossover. You master the 1,2 count you master all sports.,definitely boxing. Hit in between there 1,2 count. Thank me later
Looool! He’s working out with Scorpion & Subzero. Could you imagine when their kids watch these videos and try to understand why in the world we were wearing face diapers while running basketball drills? 🤣🙃🤪
Last one would be travelling 15 years ago, in Europe at least (I’m not saying I liked such strict application of the rules 😅). I wish I was allowed to do these moves back then, all of them are absolutely beautiful and effective moves!
Taj Gibson I missed that day Chicago bulls
I still remember Taj Gibson and Nick Young eliminating Psycho T and North Carolina in the NCAA tournament so many years ago. Kudos to him for being able to still do it? 👏
For what your career is done bro. You had an amazing run but things come to ends. Again, putting in work for what? If its spain or eastern europe that's cool but "way out of his prime Taj Gibson preparing for B class global pro ball" is not a fun, exciting, or inspirational video
With them kinda moves you'd think his career would've been better than what it was. Nice footwork though.
Hakeem from the Huston Rockets had the best footwork, amongst the big men.
Back to the basket is hard to teach what works for me might not work for you but you gotta practice and experiment and drill drill drill
All that to not use 1 move in the game lol
Its crazy how a pump fake is god tier in todays untalented NBA 😂
These are 101 kids drills, its more like repeating than learning right? People do learn and practice this at a very young age right? Ah sorry I was thinking about Europe.
