    In the last year I rebuilt my 12 Mustang 3.7. Manley Rods and pistons. I used plasti gauge. Slow process but it works. I let machine shop bore .20 over and polished crankshaft. one of the Timing chains is 6ft in length. Engine runs great revs to 7700 and up to 100 shot of Spray. Its cool to see younger generation actually build their engine. So many people pay someone else to. I've built many Honda Engines 2000-2009. The Ls vetc is really hard to mess up. Its a durable engine. Just dont cheap out on the timing belt. Gates, oem, Toda

      Thank you for your comment! I made sure to have everything looked over by a machine shop before starting. This is the first engine I have ever fully built and I'm very excited/nervous to see it run.
      I actually have it all together now and I'm planning on putting part 2 up this next week!

      @@evolvinginterests Awesome I'm excited. If i may offer some advice, use Valvoline vr1 5w30 conventional for the break/first 500 Miles. ( highest Zinc, boron, potassium "Anti wear") After the break in use oil of your choice. I feel you on being excited/Nervous. I was same way.

      Awesome I was wondering what would be the best to run. Thank you for the suggestion!

    You do know there’s a up and down on the compression rings rite and usually the arp line goes on the washer not the thread

    • @evolvinginterests
      @evolvinginterests  Рік тому

      The piston rings I got did not have any special instructions on installation and also didn't appear to have a different side as far as up and down. They didn't have any markings or a bevel on the edge.
      Also the ARP kit told me to lube both the washer and threads so I did that for that reason.

    Did you check the ring gap didn’t see or hear you mention it? And did you put the little o ring on the oil pump? 😅

      I had the machine shop I was working with gap rings and assemble the pistons. The guy was pretty well known in my area and had built similar engine so he had a good spec to use. As for oil pump o ring I did find it and install it. Not sure if that made it in the video but it was there! Thank you

      @@evolvinginterests it made it in I commented before I got to that part in the video. I look forward to how this build turns out. Everyone was doing LS/Vtec and I always thought I’d mess something up so I never tired it

    The wrong way to take off the main cap, and you have a shop

    If I would have found metal particles in my engine, I would have washed and dried the engine and blow it out real good.

    Once again honda guys doing things weird way. Based on title, I thought this was an actual LS V8 engine which was going to get honda heads. That would have been interesting. This not so much.

      If it's not your taste that's fine. But here's what the meaning of "LS" in this context is. It's the Acura Integra LS trim engine.

      Boosted boiz are Honda nuts who joke about doing exactly that. They’ve even said there might be a 2KZ (In-line 6 Kseries (welded)) in the distant future. Granted that’s something super expensive and will likely never happen. But they do know Steve Morris (bloke who got the devile 16 engine to 4000hp then sent it back, only for it to be left in its box somewhere in Arabia while the manufacturers completely redesign the chassis

    • @evolvinginterests
      @evolvinginterests  Рік тому

      That would be awesome. You could also do an inline 8, unrelated but I've seen a few people put a modern LS head on the old 300 ford i6

      @@dylanzrim3635 garage 54 are a bunch of Russians who have basically stick-welded Lada (I4) engines together in almost every configuration you can think of, from inline 12 to V16, so its not like its HARD, it's just hard to do WELL lmao
