Jay is the Bob Ross of engine building...happy little springs and retainers.
They're happy until poor rev limiter algorithm gets to them! Thanks
Oh man, I love it. And when you mess something up, the engine gets very sad, but it's okay.
@@Hawk7886 It's just money and metal.. Thanks
@@jaymeagher1510 what was the type of silicone that was used that costed 40$? and where can i get it im soon to do a rebuild on my engine also

Lmao when Jay said "chances are, Ricky has touched your package"🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
I would love it if he did.
Hahaha😂
That just dropped me, what a line 🤣🤣😔😔
I went through the whole video, and all was good until I hit the comment section! 🤣😂🤣
Jay is an absolute legend and an incredible wealth of information. I am always excited and appreciative for any opportunity to learn from him. His videos gave me the insight and confidence to build a few 2JZs and this will help me get ready for my first K-series later this year. Thanks for the great video.
Bob Ross R.I.P. one of the best and calmest painter on TV everyone knew.
He didn't know! Thanks
@@jaymeagher1510 now he really need to binging the whole season
Who’s everyone bro cause it definitely aint me😂
This is the type of content I want to see. Technical but not overly so, teaching me how to do things not just what someone else has done. Jay seems cool as hell and I wouldn't mind a how to build a k series engine from buying to building.
I disagree, I'd love a super technical course taught by Jay. His knowledge is incredible.
@@Hawk7886 Go check out Mike, from motoiq, explain all the coatings, media blasting, heat treatments, as well as tolerances, and methods to measurements for different bearings, how they’ll torque down the bed plate and align hone the journals. Theres also a torque plate to bolt to the head that acts as if the head is torqued down but has the holes for the cylinders and make sure the bore is perfectly plumb when the head is under torque and not bare. He goes over all the parts and why they use specific companies. Their video along with this assembly video should get you building a bulletproof setup.
@@streetassasinGSR96 I'm familiar with motoiq, thanks though
@@Hawk7886 Do you have any recommendations for people like me who want to see the super technical stuff plz ?
“Who’s Bob Ross”😂 For a second there it looked like Jay has to restrain from slapping him 😂😂.
even after builder a handful of engines I still watch videos with Jay on the assembly helm… it’s always a nice refresher + how Jay explains it, is quite clear with good real world examples
Thanks TRC and Jay for this 😎
Jay is the “Favorite teacher in school” kinda guy , super knowledgeable and humble ,always a joy to listen to and watch him putting these gems together!
This young man is learning from the best our world has to offer! Good for him 👍🏼
So you know them all?
@@iloveaviation-burgerclub-a8145 Yeah I met all of em. Every single one.
@@noahnajor2408 Well, so why do all those I know don't know you?
@@iloveaviation-burgerclub-a8145 Hard to say really…🤔
@@noahnajor2408 you can make it if you try...
Jays first mustang experience really shows how the universe lines up to lead us where we need to be, regardless of it being a “good” or “bad” situation.
That's the mind set you need ^^^^ The universe always has a plan that supersedes your own plans to lead you to your destination.
I can't put a price on the knowledge that jay wants everyone to know.. He is a dying breed anyone else would try to charge a fee now days.. So on behalf of everyone who has ever learned anything from his amazing black hole of knowledge I just want to say I truly appreciate you wanting people to do things right the first time .. Mr. Bob Ross say's thanks as well..
Man the guy building the engine is like a dream engine builder. Checking everything and double checking after that. You know if something fails in this engine it's mechanical related. Excellent video. I'd buy an engine from this guy any day.
What are the specs used on the valve train?
@@hectorperez1528 gotta look it up, man, you'd never want to get specs like that from youtube comments.
This is great shit, man. TRC has grown to be one of the raddest channels out there for peeling back motorsport
Love how Jay passes on that amazing experience to all of us. Jay keeping us all in love with that passion for our Vehicles. Man I'm excited to see more of that k series in action...
Building an engine with Jay is priceless. Absolutely awesome to have a mentor like him.
Man this was a soothing yet informative video! Thank you !!!!
The bit about aluminum pistons is gold thanks Jay.
Jay, real street... thank you for serving the honda/racing community for the time you already have and the remaining time you stay in. I've delt with Jay once, years back and he serves with integrity and honesty. He also serves with confidence and humility. Rare breed of a tuner. We're going to miss you when you retire.
Woke up, watched this entire video before getting out of bed. Awesome video 👌🏻😂
I appreciate you taking the time watching the video and I hope you enjoyed it!
Still got my K24W1, the K20 guys get all the good stuff.
Always great watching Jay explain and work on engines.
Absolutely love these TRC/real street detailed engine building videos!!
I can watch Jay talk about engines all day
It's incredible and a pleasure to watch Jay build this engine. Now I must add, build an engine to my bucket lists before I die.
Who ever learns how to build an engine by jay real st should take it for granted. Not too many out here that’s willing to teach you for free.
🤣😭🤣 when he pricked his finger... I was waiting for Pablo to hit it with a shot of brake clean out of the first aid kit!!
Don’t give him any ideas 😅🤣
@@RickyWithTheCars still not too late... days later... just like Pepridge Farms remembers.. so does brake cleaner!
That’s tight for Jay to teach the kid n build. Much props.
🤣🤣"CHANCES ARE RICKYS TOUCHED YOUR PACKAGE". RICKY KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOUR SELF YOUNG MAN!! 😂
I’ll try my best 😂
Enjoyed with a coffee ☕️
Thanks 😊
Now to tackle the rod bearings on my v10 M5
Oooo, I had a 08 M5 with the V10. It was the best 12mpg I ever experienced! Such a neat engine!
This is why I love realstreet, These videos are really handy, Plus there service is hands down hard to beat! I will keep to support them!
Talk about blessing a motor .. way to go jay ..
Top 10 favorite videos on YT! How many of us didn't know who Bob Ross was? 😅🙋🏾♂️
Bob Ross what a legend. Great video here, lots of great info and easy to follow! Thanks guys!
Perfect!
Watching the whole clip! As I build a 2.0L Bseries at the shop! Loved watching this and especially when @Jay said at 42:20 “been doing it this way” is the main reason there are detracting comments on my videos thoug VERY few but I can see clearly where they come from though I’m always eager to learn further hence I love watching anything that Jay is in
Thanks guys!
gota love jays knowledge and way of breaking things down, that man is a blessing
Great, thorough video!! Thanks so much Jay and the guys at Real Street for making this possible. As a technically minded guy who does all his own DIY on his S2000 and Corolla this was a treat to see :)
Thanks Jay. Appreciate the opportunity for showing us step by step. It looks difficultat at first. But i will give it shot😊
Rick is lucky to have jay build a engine
What a great video. This is already one of my top channels. This video is my favorite yet. Jay's perspective is approachable and simultaneously doctorate level. Ricky's perspective is more familiar to me. Seeing Ricky learning from a master in real time was my favorite part. Great idea and execution. thank you.
Jay is a phenomenal teacher. I can tell he has trouble slowing himself down but it's all good.
The ending 🫶 well done
I'm a sucker for almost anything Honda
YAY !! FINALLY a video rebuild for the engine type I have. Thanks for making this video. Peace
Excellent content, heaps of awesome advice, well paced and informative. Thanks so much for this video, Real St & TRC, Jay, and Ricky.
Seriously watching a master at work
Jay is a living legend!
Awesome video. Thank you for putting the time in for the rest of us to learn
Aww man as a young man I’m 27 and I just love working on Hondas I have had over 10 in my life I have fixed a lot of things alone with zero experience now I’m getting better I can’t wait to find some one that shares this passion for building cars and maybe could teach me more or help in a build. Money has a big part of things to cause I’m not rich I’m struggling to survive out here in hawaii! So for me to build a car is a dream that’s never gonna happen
It will happen man, good luck!!
Jay Meagher is amazing, he is very meticulous when it comes to building engines. He has a passion for engine building.
0:42 Ricky touched my package
Pause 😂😂😂😂😂
Something about engines that calm me down, Ya know.. =)
Jay is a LEGEND! got hooked on real street after TRC’s supra, but now honda stuff too! 🔥🔥
I miss my K20 such an amazing engine
I loved every second! Saving up for my own k20 build not very mechanically inclined but my love is there ❤. Can’t wait ti get started 😆
What a video! I learned so much! Love how it was explained!
This guy teaches so good 👍
Super cool to hear about how Jay got into engine building. Now it makes sense why I always see Tim posting about heavy and severe duty trucks hahaha
It's so relaxing watching Jay when he builds a engine
Excellent video, i love watched him assemble engines and his mannerisms doing so. I wouldnt mind him assembling my 408w just like this so i will know what to do in the future. U can gain alot of wisdom from him! Now about Bob Ross, i cant tell u how many times ive watched him take a blank canvas and make a masterpiece of a forest and shack in the snow right before my eyes. Not only a master with a paint brush but he could mix amazing colors. And he can do it all while putting u to sleep like a freaking baby!! LLS
the mechanic is very informative , knowledgeable, you will really learn a lot from him.. i feel i can do it now myself.
Absolutely epic video! Thank you!
Great guide. Thanks for recording and sharing this!
This video is really helpful. I want to build another K20Z1 for my dc5 integra and this gave me basically a whole guide.
I did my first engine at around age 12 maybe..but I love building two stroke motors ,love that smell when you start them, and you get that first crack and nasty rumble from a built two-stroke every time it’s started up..
Wow! Just wow, was such a good watch
Such a great video, can easily give confindence to new builders.
We need more people like this to show us younger people. The military, votech can teach but this knowledge is invaluable ❤
The detail for quality is amazing on this guy
what an awesome video... Jay is an absolute chad. to say "if he tears it up, we'll do it all over again." what a legend
Jay is the man!!
That was great, I’d love to see more of these.
Im a learner but got no tools but I will learn and listen
I do enjoyed the most engine build. When it’s k series.
Thank you guys for helping us as a k series project people
Great Knowledge, Thank You Jay :)

Jay is the man! Sounds like an amazing boss too! Hope the guy has fun with that and a big smile on his face all while doing it!
Sweet!! Forsure coming back to it
I knew the Bob Ross reference situation was coming. I use to watch him paint in the morning when I was a kid.
22:13, I thought everyone knew Bob Ross 😂 The joy of painting 🖼 He made it look so easy.
this guy makes this stuff seem simple
