@@RetroRaconteur honestly, they’d probably love the presence of each other. All those goblin rebellion stories to share with each other. They’d be besties. I love that little note you find written by Professor Ronen to Binns suggesting ways to liven up his teaching methods. That’s so funny.
I find the sharp Snape comparison so interesting. Like they have so many similarities (potions, names, slytherin, strict and grumpy) but they’re also polar opposites in some ways. Snape is vindictive and cruel and Sharp is not. Sharp was an auror turned professor whereas Snape was a death eater turned professor. Sharp clearly values sticking to the book whereas Snape looks for other options I feel like shark was robbed on the story poll though. Not as good as Snape but his story of losing his partner in a fight and now trying to find a cure has serious potential.
Professor Snape never wanted to be a teacher he was forced into that position and he is also a spy so he definitely couldn't be kind to the kids anyway especially with how little patience he has for children
I think the main difference between the hp professors and Hogwarts legacy professors is the consistency between them. In Hogwarts legacy almost all the professors are given the same or very similar amount did screen-time showing them teaching and talking with the students. Virtually all of them have 1-2 dialogue options explaining their backstory and 1-2 assignments teaching the protagonist. They don’t feature very much in the main story and they don’t build a relationship with the mc. The only exception is fig ofc who is depicted more as mentor than a professor. On the other hand professors in hop vary greatly in their importance to the plot or protagonist. While some professors have hardly any relationship with Harry and no backstory (like flitwick) others backstory are critical to Harry and his story (lupin and Snape.) Harry meets lupin in the train. Snape teaches him private lessons. Meanwhile I don’t think Harry has a single scene with flitwick alone. The narrative just doesn’t treat each professor equally. What I’m curious to see going forward then is will each of the hl professors continue to have equal impact on the plot and mc going further or not? Will you have to make a choice about which professors to get to know? Might you have a bigger opportunity to develop a relationship with your head of house? Cool video! I initially suspected everyone would vote for hp professors but I was pleasantly surprised. Though I still feel it is an unfair comparison since hp professors have 7 books, 8 movies, and a mobile game whereas hl professors have just the one game
I couldn't agree more with Sprout v. Garlick. The first canonical interaction we see her in is the Mandrake lesson, which is also the first lesson we have with Professor Garlick. The differences are two-fold; first, Professor Garlick didn't shove plants that can kill a room full of people at 12 year olds. At 15, you're two years from your magical majority and expected to be a bit more attentive than 12 year old students. Secondly, when something went wrong, she fixed the damage and apologized to the student who was affected most, whereas Professor Sprout just shrugged and kept on while she had an unconscious student knocked out on the ground.
Cmon community! Hecat vs Lupin isnt even a debate, she would do worse to him than the full moon, she would be his new boggart. Shes old and still teaching cause shes that good. I think Moody “Crouch Jr” would have been a closer fight

Feels like most people were clearly biased towards HP-era teachers... I love Minerva, but Weasley was by far the better teacher imo. McGonnagal was borderline neglecting her duties as a teacher/head of house at times when outside the classroom...
What? She was fair, strict and was teaching is a rigid but very good way and as for her power, McGonnagal and Severus Snape would imo solo HL teachers while Flitwick would teach the clown how to do charms. Also, Sprout is SEVERELY underestimated - she would eat Garlick for breakfast (no not in that way). Garlick didnt even fight against Ranrok while Sprout opposed Death eaters. Seriously the teachers of HP era are just far more powerful and also the fact they survived first Wizarding war is a statement on its own. They had more rigid but effective method of teaching. (I think only Garlick and Sharpe were better teachers BUT I think Sprout and Snape had more to teach their students that wanted to be the best) The HP books will obviously win in every story poll imo.) DADA is hard to do when there are people like Umbridge who is INSANELY good character, much better and deeper than Hecat but she would win a duel or be a good teacher so Hecat would win BUT Lupin, Snape, Crouch Junior would win imo while Lockhard and Quirrel would lose imo. The fact there are so many of them makes it hard to judge.
@@Dark_Voice Where to begin...Minerva did some seriously questionable things. She knows Voldy is after the stone, unicorns are being killed in the forbidden forest something that never happened before meaning there's a good chance it might be him, but to learn the kids a lesson about roaming the school at night she sends them into certain death...at night. When they know nothing about defence whatsoever. If not for Firenze's timely arrival Harry would be dead. The fact she was an accomplice in luring a deranged homicidal maniac into a school full of children in the first place is also questionable as fuck. There's also the time she punished Neville in third year, also with an alleged deranged murderer roaming the castle. Her actions could've gotten Neville killed had Sirius actually been a murderer and tried to break into the common room again only to find an unfortunate locked out student/obstacle in his way. She's potentially whipped/flogged Arthur Weasley as punishment for being out at night aswell. The experience having left him scarred for life. This in combination with the fact that when Moody is bouncing ferret-Draco off of the floor to the point he squeals in pain all she comments on is the use of transfiguration on a student, which... Then she watches the man drag Draco off to Snape by his arm after making some thinly veiled threats and the obvious abuse from moments ago. Who knows what he could've done before they'd reach Snape. Minerva's also playing favourites and can be rather unfair and keeps putting her students at risk. Be it through detention, punishments or allowing Ron to carry on with an obviously brokenwand that could seriously injure either himself or those near him. She did buy Harry an outrageously expensive broom though so Gryffindor might win the Quidditch cup and she could look Severus in the face again. Provided they all still have faces if Ron's wand were to malfunction and melt them off. Priorities I guess... Her being kind is debatable; most of her dialogue she's yelling or snapping at someone. Especially with those who don't perform to her liking in her class. There's plenty more issues with Minerva, but I think I made my point. She's much like Severus in her teaching; they both really know their stuff, but their harsh approach is unlikely to make people actually learn anything. Interstingly enough I don't think we've ever seen her teach the Slytherins. She'd likely defeat Weasley in battle, but Weasley was by far the better teacher and deputy headmistress. Hecat would straight up murder most DADA teachers, as an unspeakable none of them should be able to even remotely match her. Sprout would probably beat Garlic in a fight as the latter seems to be a pacifist, but Garlick is the better teacher. Sharp and Snape are about even I'd say as Sharp was an auror before and Snape is Snape. Sharp was by far the better teacher though. Flitwick was a dueling champion so he'd likely beat Ronen, but Ronen seems the better teacher.
I loved both the DADA options but I think it should have been, Backstory: professor Hecat due to being an unspeakable and wounded by time itself. Teacher: Professor Lupin because he was passionate towards his students and genuinely cared about them (and we have more information on him) Duel: Professor Hecat due to probably having wide knowledge on dark curses and like you said more opportunities
I would really like to give a food for thought. ALL HP ERA professors made it through the first Wizarding war against Lord Voldemort making all of them war Veterans where all Hogwarts legacy teachers thought some Ranrok might be an issue and most of them seem very unprepared to fight when HP era teachers had dueling as the difference between life and death when Death eaters come knocking.
So haven't watched yet but I think the 90's Prof's would win. True the sudden Goblin uprising was something to keep the Legacy teachers on their toes but several of the HP prof's had experience in a long standing war during Voldemort's first bid for power and even though it probably wouldn't have been many the HP profs would have access to any new combat spells thought of during the century gap (looking at Snape and Secutum Sempra)

I loved Snape for beeng the only impartial person in Hugwards but, that can be said from Aesop who also is incredibly honor retarding, and I would love any professor who encourages students to own up mistakes, and records and reinforces this honorable behavior in them.
6:08 go Garlick XD
8:47 Hecket slay a dragon when she was young, with age she claims got stronger this is not a centes Hecket butchers Lupine
also Dumbledore is the best :D in every way
lets be honest, garlick won because the fan base thinks shes hot, thats it xd
