its a good day when retro uploads. Kinda wanted them to change the professors houses a bit more... i mean dada is a ravenclaw wich original series went everywhere cause u had one every year. Charms being slytherins is fun. But herbology hufflepuff again . Potions slytherin again seems like high chance transfiguration is gryffindoor ... again
That has a lot to do with the 4 elements each house represents, I think. Slytherin is water, Hufflepuff is earth, Ravenclaw is air, and Gryffindor is fire. So naturally Slytherin has Potions, the liquid, Hufflepuff has Herbology, the earth and plant, Ravenclaw has Charms (Wingardium Leviosa), and Gryffindor has Transfiguration (conjuration, the transformation of one thing to another). DADA had two Ravenclaws back to back, then a Gryffindor, and *four* Slytherins. Hufflepuff would have been a proper change. I am disappointed, but I'll hold optimism for Transfiguration.

Personally, I feel that having a 3rd Slytherin Potion professor, that is male as well, is a bit lazy. Would have loved a Ravenclaw professor, since it is such a hard subject. Give me a Slytherin broom professor, one that really cares about Quidditch matches!
According to the timeline it could fit that the headmaster is in fact Phineas Nigellus Black as the game is played in 1890 & Phineas was 43 at the time (he died in 1925)
I still think Amit is our Ravenclaw companion since I feel like it would make no sense not to give us one. It would make more sense if they had gone the route of the phone game and give us one companion that joins whatever house we are in otherwise.
As a gryffindor, Poppy was/is my favorite companion so I was already excited to have a Hufflepuff at my side. But now my favorite professor is also a Hufflepuff?? Well guess Hufflepuff is my second preferred house now.😅👍
I’ve had a feeling that we might be an “undercover agent” sent in from the ministry. That’s why we come out of nowhere and are expected in at year 5. Could be totally wrong but just a thought.
Well, the reason you come in at Year 5 is because the game designers didn't want people playing an 11-year-old doing all the dangerous things you'll probably be doing in the game.
I'm no where near a Hogwarts expert(So feel free to teach me a thing or two), but I'm still excited for this game and as a gamer I noticed each professor serve a purpose directly to our most fundamental gameplay. Figg - Helps you discover Ancient Magic Sharp - Teach us potions, like the one that gives armor. Garlick(Clever Name) - Lessons on the Plant creatures I see fighting in the gameplay trailer. Ronen - Charms (Need help on this one, will these be buffs to your person or powers?) and Hecat - Teaches us the basics of fighting all together. This must be why they said Classes will only be Narrative based, its meant to teach us specific spells or gameplay mechanics for Combat with a bit of back story and hint at lore. Once the required amount of class time is over when we learn everything we need, we'll eventually jus stop going to class I assume. Hmph no wonder going to classes regularly in a sims fashion are not prioritized.
"Errr, hello everyone, my name is Professor Maths McKinsey; I'm your new maths teacher. Hope the embroidered numbers all over my robes didn't give me away!" Just kidding, the Wizarding World doesn't believe in mathematics... or, water saving toilets.
""Even Snape" BLASPHEMY, Alan Rickman is a national treasure; his Snape was iconic. His inclusion in the beloved category is mandatory! 💚 Also is Mirabel queer? Her card seemed to imply as much.
Noticed that Professor Binns was still teaching History of Magic... Always imagined a funny version of that class taking the place of the Ghostbusters live show at Universal. Imagine you having to answer questions from your house (according to your seat), and every now and then something funny coming in to interrupt the professor's sleep-inducing classes.
I watched the original trailer for the Game and am certain that Ranrok is after us which is why we're at Hogwarts, as according to Hagrid, "Ain't no place safer"
Abraham Ronan looks very similar to Flavious Belby found on a chocolate frog card in the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery, knows for being the only known wizard to have survived a Lethifold attack. Considering the same studio worked on the game it’s interesting how similar these two characters are 🤔
We’re just gonna glaze over the fact that in garlicks description it said “ if another WITCH were to come along she’d have to live Hogwarts as much as her” 🤔 suspicious 😊
Yeah maybe cause it’s not really suspicious, that’s a weird word to use haha. it’s just facts that she be gaaaaay and that’s not actually interesting lol
@OkiHabu I think it’s a matter of not wanting to anger a community like religions because so many people branch off of the “main” religion like some Jewish/Islamic people don’t follow the strict diet of their religion, what I’m saying is it’s hard to represent an entire community without angering some because some people want this some follow that , whereas with the lgbtqia+ community any representation is considered a “together” representation (like having one queer character is showing support for all queer groups, if that makes sense) , and I also believe they were hoping for it to just be in the background not have it as their pull for queer people and if queer people join because of it great but if not that’s not what they were going for. 😁
@OkiHabu I think you missed what I was saying you brought politics and religion into a simple conversation of sexual identity it is not queer bait and to be honest the message flew over most people’s heads I don’t know why you’re so desperate to hate the game for this but if you don’t want it don’t get it and leave others alone
@@Golden_ghost7321 I'm a little worried about the world building though since its set in the 1800s and the magical world is shown to be behind the rest of the world on matters of equality in the Harry Potter movies. Still, bet she's going to be a wonderful character
It makes sense that there are more slytherin professors because the headmaster is slytherin. Sort of like hiring your frat brothers first. Question. What is that game they are playing with the two black balls?
@@nathanlangley769 thought gobstones are small balls. Even the hogwarts programmers said you can't play gobstones in hogwarts legacy. Maybe a pre-gobstones game? Or just an old game.
Or maybe they hired because they were the most qualified of the people who applied? There's 4 houses and 12-16 subjects to staff. As your not pulling from the entire population(as not everyone wants to be a teacher) but rather from a smaller pool of applicants, things aren't going to shake out evenly as to what houses are represented. And assuming that it had to be pseudo-nepotism for there to be slightly more Slytherins than other houses is weird, as in the Prisoner of Azkaban, of the school staff where we know of their houses, Dumbledore has more Griffindors on staff than anyone else. Of course, most of the staff don't have their houses listed because when it comes to teaching, your knowledge and ability to work with children is more important than your values at 11 years old. And, meta-narritively, Slytherin still has the "is the evil house of evil" reputation, as your insinuation that they only got their job because the headmaster was biased rather than their qualifications supports btw, and this is a chance to portray Slytherins who aren't tainted by the heir's influence, as well as not being used as the defacto villains of a children's series, and instead rehabilitate the house from the reputation Rowling saddled them with. Which, again, is because she only wrote one decent Slytherin who we spent any time with, and Slughorn came in on the penultimate book. And no, Snape doesn't count because attempted to kill a student's pet using their incorrectly made potion, and then punished them because they cheated, something he knew because the potion worked(indicating he knew they wouldn't be able to fix it normally) Prisoner of Azkaban "the boggart", and planned on poisoning a student multiple times, Goblet of Fire "the weighing of the wands" and the one scene where Snape threatened to put virtuaserum in Harry's drink. It doesn't matter way heroics you do, if you spend your average day bullying and abusing children entrusted into your care, you're not a good person.
Each of the professors personalities fits the subject they teach. I suspect the charms professor likes to take his students Zonko’s to put Whoopi’s cushions under the head masters chair. The hardass for potions provides context and backround for as to why Snape was given that class. As this game takes place in the 1880’s.
I bet they made the potions master different from Snape by not making him someone who spends his days bullying and abusing children. Like when Snape feeds Neville's incorrectly made potion to Trevor, knowing it would kill the toad, and then takes housepoints away because the potion worked correctly and Trevor didn't die, which meant Hermione helped Neville (which she did). Did I mention that Snape deduced Hermione helped Neville by the potion not killing the frog yet? Because that's really concerning that he expected to kill a student's pet and did it anyway. And then in the Goblet of Fire he plans on poisoning a student to test their homemade antidotes ("the weighing of the wands"), and threatens to drug Harry with virtuaserum, neither of which is acceptable for a teacher to do. And then there's the litanny of wildly inappropriate insults he heaps at his students. I never got how his war hero actions were supposed to redeem him of 16 years of abusing children. People love the Snape Alan Rickman portrayed (who actually is a decent person), not the one Rowling wrote.
It’s just the fandom and fanfictiontards that misinterpret Snape wildly. He’s a pretty horrible guy, never really intended to be ”redeemed”. His entire existence from having a muggle father, pureblood mother, growing up abused and getting into the dark arts is a direct parallel to Voldemort. The point of Snape as a character was to show that the only thing keeping him from becoming like Voldemort was his ability to love.
If a computer-animated show series gets made that is based on these VideoGames someday; I would like to see a student from RavenClaw become be part of the main group of characters who are friends with each other. See I imagine one character from RavenClaw, 2 characters from Hufflepuff, 2 from Gryffindor, and one genuine good person from Slytherin.
Somehow I don't think a 15 year old can date their professors. Dating a teacher is a problematic power dynamic to have when everyone is an adult, but when one of them is a kid? No.
1:45 trust me its not crazy!! As an obsessed Star Wars fan a well executed game makes you really attached to the given character. Cal Kestis is easily one of my favourite characters now! so if Hogwarts legacy can hit a homer like Jedi Fallen order this will become a classic!
So while reading professor Mirabel garlick text card the line So even if the right witch we're to come along, she'd simply have to love Hogwarts as much as Mirabel does. Now at first I thought it meant something else but on closer inspection of the sentence what it's trying to is there would have to be another witch to love Hogwarts just as much as Mirabel
If anyone's an exact copy of the books professor, it's the Herbology professor. Like seriously, I'd have switched it up a bit, having the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher be a Hufflepuff in this version.
I never really got why people looked down on those not born from non-magical families as they are the first of their family tree of magic. They are naturally made wizards who didn't get their magic from their parents but got it naturally.
Well it's similar to how monarchies used to be and how much incest permeated Europe back in the day for the sake of "keeping the bloodline pure". It's hogwash and just a way for those in power to stay in power. A muggle born witch isn't taking magic away from anyone else nor is she watering it down, but the lie that she is keeps pureblood families in power and justifies mistreatment and cruelty towards her.
I hope the Ravenclaw 'companion' will be a companion. He'll just bellyache and whinge everytime you bring him somewhere where it gets dangerous and make puns about how he is 'too old for this' or something.
Look all I wanna know is can I be an asshole like in Bully. If I can do that then I’m 100% buying it. I’m not a Harry Potter fan, but I’m like teetering on getting this because it looks fun. I just wanna goof around.
i wonder if they are going to go into any pureblood politics in this game and if they have accurate portrayals of blood status in different houses (slytherin being especially bigoted). could be an interesting dynamic in side missions
I don't think we've seen the Heads yet. Any of them. I would think they'd all be shown at the same time, or kept secret as a surprise. I think there isn't so much a rule that all 4 Houses must be represented, so much as there are only 4 Houses and at least three times as many classes, so odds are VERY high there's always at least one.
I’m so unbelievably excited, the professors sound magnificent. I’ve finally made progress on redesigning my animal crossing island to be hogwarts themed, I need to channel my excitement somewhere and the ACNH 2.0 items are too good to pass up 🥹

@@DittaDemon to each their own. Looks decent in my opinion. Plus some of the leaked trophies make me excited.
The Professor character cards were so much fun. I hope we're getting more. I love it so much how the give us all this little bits of the game. Honestly I wasn't that hyped since waiting for Book 7 😁😁😁
For a book lower I am impressed by characters in games. Like Gaunt, Weasley, Black. Cuz all of them were mentioned. I am not sure if there is some Prewett(ancestors of Molly Weasley) but I wish so because Mollys brothers were really cool
its a good day when retro uploads. Kinda wanted them to change the professors houses a bit more... i mean dada is a ravenclaw wich original series went everywhere cause u had one every year.
Charms being slytherins is fun.
But herbology hufflepuff again . Potions slytherin again
seems like high chance transfiguration is gryffindoor ...
I think that Mirabel Garlick is a lesbian. Her character card says that "even if the right *witch* were to come along, *she'd* imply have to love Hogwarts as much as Mirabel does."
Dear god i swear if they cram this game with LGBwhatever i'm gonna be done with life
@@ripvanwinkler1548
Tough shit. It’s weird you don’t gay about the professor has a wife but get butthurt over the MENTION of her wanting a gf.

@@ripvanwinkler1548 Please be done with life!!
@@ripvanwinkler1548 I don't think it is gonna be a lot or shoved down your throat. I think you can forgive a few lgbt stuff since we aren't really the intended audience for anything Harry Potter related.
@@SoraKingdomss what?
So...did anyone else notice that they just outright said that Professor Garlick is a lesbian? Like I'm trying not to read too far into this but "Even if the right *witch* were to come along, she would just have to love Hogwarts as much as Mirabel does."
😒
we know so much about this game and its characters, and its crazy to think how much we still don't know, i do still think it'd be weird if, maybe not a Ravenclaw companion, but rather if the three we've seen are the only students that will actually be that important to us, i would like more options than that, i guess we'll have to wait and see
The one thing im really hoping for, is that there will be a beast class
Sharp looks like the guy from the tolarian academy youtube channel.
Awesome! Loving Professor Ronen! Still wish this wasn't a prequel.
Personally, I feel that having a 3rd Slytherin Potion professor, that is male as well, is a bit lazy. Would have loved a Ravenclaw professor, since it is such a hard subject. Give me a Slytherin broom professor, one that really cares about Quidditch matches!
According to the timeline it could fit that the headmaster is in fact Phineas Nigellus Black as the game is played in 1890 & Phineas was 43 at the time (he died in 1925)
They actually just confirmed Phineas today!
Hat girl looks like Luna lovegood a bit..with other colored hair ofc.
I still think Amit is our Ravenclaw companion since I feel like it would make no sense not to give us one. It would make more sense if they had gone the route of the phone game and give us one companion that joins whatever house we are in otherwise.
Sharp literally said "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow to the knee" and now he's teaching potions. F
🤔 🤔 🤔
@@RetroRaconteurhope I’m wrong as not too keen on the idea haha
Well, the reason you come in at Year 5 is because the game designers didn't want people playing an 11-year-old doing all the dangerous things you'll probably be doing in the game.
@@Blackferret66 well that’s great insight there
I'm no where near a Hogwarts expert(So feel free to teach me a thing or two), but I'm still excited for this game and as a gamer I noticed each professor serve a purpose directly to our most fundamental gameplay.
Figg - Helps you discover Ancient Magic
Sharp - Teach us potions, like the one that gives armor.
Garlick(Clever Name) - Lessons on the Plant creatures I see fighting in the gameplay trailer.
Ronen - Charms (Need help on this one, will these be buffs to your person or powers?)
and Hecat - Teaches us the basics of fighting all together.
I watch many theories video of this game almost daily know but no one hasn’t mentioned this I think your on to something
"Errr, hello everyone, my name is Professor Maths McKinsey; I'm your new maths teacher. Hope the embroidered numbers all over my robes didn't give me away!"
Just kidding, the Wizarding World doesn't believe in mathematics... or, water saving toilets.
My favourite is ronen so far, but as a Ravenclaw I also really like our dada teacher
""Even Snape" BLASPHEMY, Alan Rickman is a national treasure; his Snape was iconic. His inclusion in the beloved category is mandatory! 💚
Also is Mirabel queer? Her card seemed to imply as much.
Professor Binns is there too. Is he a Gryffindor professor?
to much expectations may kill your dreams
Oh no. That herbology professor is so getting rule 34rd.
Also she's gay. They took 2 sentences out of her 6 sentence bio to be sure you knew that. How much you want to bet JK wrote those herself.
Me: (reading the title) technically this is a very old era lol 😂
I watched the original trailer for the Game and am certain that Ranrok is after us which is why we're at Hogwarts, as according to Hagrid, "Ain't no place safer"
Abraham Ronan looks very similar to Flavious Belby found on a chocolate frog card in the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery, knows for being the only known wizard to have survived a Lethifold attack. Considering the same studio worked on the game it’s interesting how similar these two characters are 🤔
and get the butterflies out of MY GREEN HOUSE
We’re just gonna glaze over the fact that in garlicks description it said “ if another WITCH were to come along she’d have to live Hogwarts as much as her” 🤔 suspicious 😊
Yeah maybe cause it’s not really suspicious, that’s a weird word to use haha. it’s just facts that she be gaaaaay and that’s not actually interesting lol
@@elmondo-s1e I was saying it’s suspicious he skipped over it I’m really hoping we have a gay or bi teacher loving the rep sorry it sounded weird😅
After it was revealed there was two Weasleys I wonder whose the second.
It makes sense that there are more slytherin professors because the headmaster is slytherin. Sort of like hiring your frat brothers first.
Question. What is that game they are playing with the two black balls?
It’s gobstones
@@nathanlangley769 thought gobstones are small balls. Even the hogwarts programmers said you can't play gobstones in hogwarts legacy. Maybe a pre-gobstones game? Or just an old game.
my money says that game is likely a "lesson game" that incorporates the use of the summoning charm Accio and the banishing charm Depulso
@@jeremiahrobinson2680 makes sense. Because he does like to incorporate games in his teaching.
The real question, is will our character be able to bend Mirabel over a table and tap dat?
Got to admit, while I am interested in this game, I am really interested in seeing how elements of this game will be used in Harry Potter fanfiction
Asap sharp is definetly Snape inspired.
Headmaster will probably be Grynffindor
If a computer-animated show series gets made that is based on these VideoGames someday; I would like to see a student from RavenClaw become be part of the main group of characters who are friends with each other.
See I imagine one character from RavenClaw, 2 characters from Hufflepuff, 2 from Gryffindor, and one genuine good person from Slytherin.
Professor Hecat: Hecate was the godess of witchcraft, death, the moon, necromancy, etc
This game is gonna be huge maybe in the future if it gets popular it might have multiplayer dlc I don’t mind if it’s dlc
i beg they make a multiplayer online mode if this game suceed
Pls tell me there's a way to romance the professors, cause like Mirabel brooo 😭
Somehow I don't think a 15 year old can date their professors.
Dating a teacher is a problematic power dynamic to have when everyone is an adult, but when one of them is a kid? No.

Just bought the game today. I'm excited.
Ronen probably will be a traitor, or the herb teacher.
1:45 trust me its not crazy!! As an obsessed Star Wars fan a well executed game makes you really attached to the given character. Cal Kestis is easily one of my favourite characters now! so if Hogwarts legacy can hit a homer like Jedi Fallen order this will become a classic!
I still miss Cedric and Snape 😢😢😢😢😂😂😂😂
That first professor xD
So while reading professor Mirabel garlick text card the line
So even if the right witch we're to come along, she'd simply have to love Hogwarts as much as Mirabel does.
Now at first I thought it meant something else but on closer inspection of the sentence what it's trying to is there would have to be another witch to love Hogwarts just as much as Mirabel
you just reworded the original sentence lol
you don't say that and not have her be gay lol. Idk what other possible interpretation there could be that would fit the previous lines
She's a lesbian who if she ever fell in love, the woman she fell in love with would have to love Hogwarts as much as she, a lesbian, does.
@@lornadune2506 Thanks for clearing that up.

i think Aesop Sharp has more in common with Moody than Dina Hecat because of his past as a former Auror
There is a chance Garlick may not be muggle born... Harry Potter also grew up in a house full of muggles and he wasnt muggle born.
Whoa, that's a good point! That wording does seem intentional and never mentioned anything about the muggles being her family 🤔

Thank you, Tim! Definitely took a bit longer on this edit. Glad someone took notice of those professor cuts 😄
i wonder if they are going to go into any pureblood politics in this game and if they have accurate portrayals of blood status in different houses (slytherin being especially bigoted). could be an interesting dynamic in side missions
Are there gonna be transfiguration classes?
They haven't mentioned transfiguration yet. I hope it's in there.
