Shotgun Swarms , Shootem Down!!!!!!!

While making inspections , one of my hives was swarming and broke off into 2 different swarms, one was on a low hanging branch and the other was very high in the tree where I could not get to it with any ladder that I have , so I decided to use my shotgun and it worked better than I taught, by shooting the branch down, the bees never went back up to the top but instead gathered around the lower branch where the other swarm was located which made them was easy to shake off. #catchingswarms #honeybees #beehives #gardening #bees #Howtocatchbees #howtocatchswarms

That has to be one of the best swarm catch videos I have ever seen, and I seen a lot, just from JP alone!! I tried to shoot a branch a few years ago and I hit the whole ball of bees!! You did that like a BOSS Brad!! Great video!!

Fantastic method to get those high swarms down. Good job :) That was a secondary swarm since it was full of virgins. The primary swarm with the original queen must have left a few days before. But if you can get most of those virgins to mate successfully you are well ahead on the deal :) Cheers Chris

If they do fly off. They might land some where lower > For a sling rope. fine some parachute cord with a weight on it. Make more accurate and lighter to throw it > THERE FLYING TO IT! YOU GOT IT! WTG 👍👍

You know, technically you had that second swarm in a box after they started collecting under the first swarm box. You could have just picked the other box up and flipped the other box over and put a bottom underneath them. 😅

Yeah you right, it was crazy all the queens I caught, never had that happen to me before with all those virgin queens, I lost the main queen cause I never found her, she was a marked queen , she must have swarmed earlier and I never saw. Thanks for watching.

yes Mike I was able to get on swarm in a box last year , but it only worked while the bees were in air, not after they had already landed on a location in a ball. thanks for watching Mike.
