That bass player, wow. They were all great! Hopefully, they are all still at it. If you're having fun and still have love and passion for music, then you're already a success.
I love to see young kids keeping the Golden Age of music alive!!!
Kids wanna rock. Thanks for bringing the 70's back gang!!!
THE ROAD SO FAR
Drummer absolutely killed it! Great job!
Damn! Friggin' jammin'!
Bass player never misses a note. Never gets out of the pocket. Amazing.
Don't need a crystal ball to see rock in their future. Great performance.
Been playing this song for decades on drums, guitar, bass and backing vocals.
I do not care what anyone says, this is a great performance. And she sings great! Many people don’t even get the real goal of these schools. Get educated before commenting. Greetings to all the musicians on this video.
totally
@@unexplained2112 I agree its is school and they will all move on to better. And some you will see in the future as famous and you can say i saw them in school !!
That‘s it.
What’s the problem?
As a veteran parent of a House Band frontman (15-17 year old teen girl who rocked and still rocks) guitarist/vocalist/bassist at a New Jersey location of SoR, my many experiences lead me to comment:
1. This is an All-Start Team - the best kids make it to the House Band who, if talented/motivated audition for an regional All-Star Team. The best of those kids make it to All-Star status so seen an All-Start Team you know, upfront, this kids are both gifted and hard-working (and, sadly, rich enough to afford the various programs and costs associated with advancement at SoR).
2. These kids on 2017 Team 6 are pretty fucking incredible. If you opt to leave a critical review of musical lapses, keep in mind the following: the amount of time these teens get to rehearse as a group is far too little to present anything remotely unified, rarely do the kids choose the songs (a small percentage speak up but many go along with the program director, if you see an innovative set list it's the owner or program director to thank as many stick with tried and true classic rock, the sound people and sound equipment available varies greatly - not the absolute fall out of the keyboards in the clip above - what a sin for such a keyboard heavy song, drum kits are old and rickety, lighting has one setting and if you get more than one camera - that's a big victory.
3. Bands and personnel switching is stressed by program directors to be as fast as possible (much to the detriment of the players and acknowledging a "thank you" from the audience (a shitty philosophy to save a total of 8 minutes over a 2-hour show). They want these teens to "feel" what it's like to play but they often diminish audience recognition. Watch enough clips and you'll witness the next band "bombing in" on the first band's finale as it's happening. It always pissed me off; still does.
4. If you enjoy this, get on the local/national SoR mailing list and go out and support these young musicians as they play year-round at an establishment near you. Support the bar/restaurant that hosts the kids. Support the kids themselves and applaud the parents who invest in the right things for their children. My daughter had an amazing experience and played nearly 75 shows during her 3 years there.
Very cool, thanks for sharing your experience. I've seen a couple of kids who qualified for AllStars who couldn't afford to go out on the national tour, but I also know families who had multiple kids in the program who only paid for one of them, the others being scholarship students. If the owner and the parents are really devoted to the program, they will do what's necessary to raise money to support somebody from their school going on AllStars.
My wife and I have been fans of this program for more than a decade, and have seen kids go from their very first show to AllStars.
You make a very valid point about the lack of rehearsal time - the kids learned the program of music on their own and then only have two and a half days to practice as a group before going on the road and playing their first show. It shows what amazing pros they are by that time, and a lot of these kids you could throw into any band, anywhere.
Good job guys and gals!!
This song is my Jam
Well I'm not a gee-tar playing like some commentors but I think these kids sound phaarken great. so glad to see youngins rocking !!!!
A tough cover to do, and they did it. I love when young ones like this are playing stuff that was a hit before they were a twinkle in their daddy's eye. Good job.
He'll their daddy wasn't even a twinkle in his daddy's eye😝
Instantly fell in love with the Bass. Rock On Kids!
can't say i really like her attitude. she plays very well though.
I was sitting in the Hampton coliseum with my bro’s and our bong rocking to Kansas, Rush, Foghat, Triumph, Nugent, Aerosmith, the Dead and so many more awesome bands. I’m 54 now and pay taxes....and finally gave up the hippy lettuce! Then I could buy a house. Lol. Most importantly it’s awesome to see these kids jamming with real instruments and not a freaking Mac book. Keep rocking guys...and gals!
I have been watching alot of theese school of rock videos lately and i must say it is really fun to see theese young girls and boys having so much fun and being really good musicians also.
I’ve seen the future of rock. It is in very good hands 👍🏻🎸🎸🎸🎸
Rest In Peace Robert E. "Robby" Steinhardt
I found myself singing along. I liked how the band gave everyone in the band their moments to shine...
Anais Preller`s voice is amazing , and Lia is awesome on guitar , good job guys ( all of you)
These kids were awesome. I used to see past Kansas member, Robby Steinhardt perform with a band in Clearwater, Fl, he would always play this song.
Philadelphia Spectrum, about 1978, Kansas on stage, my buddy and I had no tickets. But we were rock climbers sooooo.....the construction had gaps in the upright slabs. Up we went, each on our own crack. Right on up to the windows. They were playing this song. Never made it to the end, cops called us down, searched us....we were smart enough to not be holding at the moment...and let us go. Can you imagine the look on people's faces when they noticed two idiots looking in the windows at the top of an arena?
Did the cops say "Carry on, my wayward sons"?
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Naw...but that would have been cool! They just sent us on our way. it's the 70's, eff'ed kids are all over the place and I suppose since we had nothing on us and were cooperative they just let us go. I can imagine if we climbed up again the cops wouldn't have been quite so easy to deal with.
They are awesome. Bravo !
Sounds great love these school of rock all over keeping up great classic music alive talented bravo 👏
Well-done! You've captured your own personality in a nearly perfect score of Carry On! So glad the younger folks are enjoying some of the iconic and favorite rock tunes since adolescence. Rock on!
What people that are downing this video dont realize these are kids trying to make it to the next level. If they would read SCHOOL of Rock that speaks for itself.
One of my favorite School of Rock videos! So many great notable rock music players got to shine here!
These kids f*n’ rock. Excellent job 🤘🏻
AMAZING!!!
kids rock’n! brings me back to rodeoing shows, low pay, good drugs, free shows!
Jeff Spicoli on guitar! Awesome, totally awesome!
Круто! Сколько же харизмы у молодых исполнителей! Мегазвёзды отдыхают🙂
Bass player rocks!!!
My 3rd most favored School of Rock video!
So many best in class performers way too many to mention! They all went on to great SoR careers!
I have watched a lot of these School of rock videos and all the kids are very talented. But i have to say that this particular lineup has something extra and goes straight into my heart. It would be cool to follow these boys and girls through their musical journey. So please, if reading this, get in touch somehow :)
😀 Wow let's start there first.... this song definitely works with all of you. Clearly everyone see that. Each of you bring talent to the stage and is something you gotta have to keep your audience. Your voice is rocks. Thank you for sharing your passion and energy the world needs talentedyoungsters Like you.
I just realized that there are a lot of cameras involved and someone is switching between them to catch the musicians at the right moments. Awesome camera mix job!
Thank you. I bring 8 cameras in a couple of bags, shoot with all of them simultaneously, sync them up afterwards, and cut between them.
@@GPZ611 Thank you.
Really enjoying seeing these young people getting into this style of rock music. Well done all of you.
Tough song to cover great job and keep going
WOW!!!! could not have nailed it any better great job these kids are AMAZING!!! This is not an easy song so much going on JUST AMAZING!!!!
these kids are amazing
Wonderfull, this team is the BEST✌️
Flawless!!!! Am not a musician.. Am a music fan.. And this is very very impressive .. The singer's are so lovely .. The whole band rocks .. That song I heard it in 1978 the first time .. And it's sound so fresh .. It brought me a lot of memories!!! Thank you.. Greetings from Acapulco Mexico
Another great performance from SoR - and deserving of the higher number of views - 120,105 as at 6/30/2020 ..... but this should be _miillions,_ not 100k.
All Guitar Players in this song definitely sat in the front of the class at school and paid very close attention.
excellent work...vocals, leads, bass', and drums kicked ... all excellent, production was expert as well...ya'll keep rocking and thanks for posting
Thank you. This video is gotten an extraordinary amount of views in the last couple of days. Was it posted some place?
This video and the Pink Floyd Dogs one introduced us to Lia Spanos. The ever shy one with a great talent for playing a guitar.
I've played this song live before, so believe me when I say, "Very well done!"
I've played too and I agree with you.
This is so freaking beautiful!
Big Kansas fan here! Not bad at all nice 2 c them playing good tunes! GOOD job guys and girls!!!
Clearly, the bass player has it going on and the drummer is great (and I'M a guitar player!). The song is a little low in the register for the lead but her high parts are great. Lead player is great also. Right tone. A really good version and version is a really good jam. Good to see the kids are rockin'.
I was about to say the same as you in regards to the bass player, the drummer, the lead guitar and the singers, she totally nailed it in the important parts of the song!
This was a great performance. There aren't enough classic rock songs by women so they have to sing men's parts and that's fine with me. regarding Anais Preller's voice, check out videos of her singing Led Zeppelin.

The road so far

Tight. Solid. Good work by all.
Terrific rendition of a tough song! Really played well together.
I like the bass player, she got it and guitar player at the drummer too.
These kids are Tight! and that bass player has got it goin' on.
that drummer KILLED it... nice job
Excellent beautiful 💖 Good energy
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high
Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think, I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say
Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more, no
Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry, don't you cry no more
No more

It’s funny to me that these kids like these songs that are 30 or 40 some years old. Keep rocking

Awesome, Team 6!
Awesome job
You go girls! Fantastic.
Nailed it.awesome 😎
dude that drummer rules. drums with enough powerand his style is almost flawless but he he made an mistake here and there but only becasue he wanted to place an drumstick in another hand position. and such an great performence from the rest too.Never forget the kids always learn from it, for some its to overcome stage fear and for some its the expierence of goin on stage and having an band feel. i hope some of them click well enough and Bands come out from it. the worlds could use some new Rock and metal heroes like Iron Maiden
All of these kids have been in the House Band at their respective School of Rock locations, and have been leading regular season shows, as well as mentoring younger kids and teaching. Sorry I didn't have more shots of the drummer - my GoPro got knocked over at one point, and was fixed by one of the guitarists - which is a wonderful example of how they've learned to watch out for each other, and take responsibility for what's happening on stage. School of Rock graduates are going to be ideal band-mates when they have their own bands.
If you can play Kansas's music with even an average level of musical competence, especially in a LIVE setting, you can play just about anything....
There is a reason why so few acts attempt a full-scale cover of their songs.
So true. Kansas had an amazing range
Good job! Rock on 🙂
Well done!!
Great Job!!!!
Wow great job👍
❤ Kiitos
Awesome~ 🎉🔥🎉🔥🎉
