Why are people so in love with Jazz? He’s an average hitter with an injury history and K’s a lot.
ONE player won't be enough, there is no support before or after his place in the lineup. The Mariners now need TWO bats, something we've been screaming from the mountaintops since the end of last season.
No idea why I see no point in getting him too expensive on top of being overrated like he is barely a league avg hitter
sounds like a Mariner
He sucks. Most Ms fans are casual
@@GeorgeConner69420 like if you want to throw assets at an injury, prone player at least go after Robert because at least when he does play, he is at the very least a good hitter. If not an All-Star player both are just about as injury prone and the differences one is good and the other is realistically, probably average at best
The Ms trading for another utility player is the most Mariners thing to do.
Mariners won’t trade for anyone. We are the uncut chode of the mlb
The Mariners will trade for a project Relief Pitcher and 2 bats that you haven't heard of.
I’m looking for two average joes and one impact bat for OF, 2B, and 1B. I don’t care where they come from or how they’re acquired, just get it done
If you think Washington is hot, try Vegas. 😂
Try Texas 😉
Then you don't make a trade, if anything you consider selling. This team isn't winning the World Series this year, hell they're not making the playoffs at this rate. No trade or combination of trades is fixing that, and draining your farm system to try would be franchise suicide. Harry Ford especially should be untouchable without a Cal extension, period, end of discussion. And we all know Cal is gone the first chance he gets, and Seattle will almost certainly have to trade him to recoup value. I don't know if you were around in 2001-2005 Colby, but the Mariners did this exact strategy back then: They wasted their farm to get guys they thought could push them over the top (Pitchers primarily), but they failed because the owners wouldn't give them money to spend in free agency. As a result, the core either retired, got traded, or began declining, and by 2004, the team was a shell of itself with no farm system to replinish their losses.
Glad to hear this being talked about. They really should consider selling and working with what they have. The farm is top 10 now and with a few more players could be #1 and teams built like that have long runs into the WS. Look at the Orioles, they did it and hit on amazing contributors 3 years in a row. They graduate an all star ROY type each year.
If only the Ms can get as hot as our heat wave 😂
they won't get hotter than our winters
@@nunyabizzy08I hate how true that is 😂
They are rn
If Jazz has character issues that is my largest worry about him other than him just being an average hitter. I really don't care for him. I agree with Colton about not giving up much if they try. I'd personally really like to have Paredes and Hoerner.
I just want to know why I can't shake the feeling that ANY bat that we get to come to Seattle short of Ohtani will just end up having the lowest point of their offensive career...
Also victim to the heatwave, Washington? We're with you lol
-Oregon
It's 106 degrees here in Moses Lake🤣
They won't get anyone! Just another Mariners season set to disappoint! They don't want to win, they just want to make money and put butts in the seats!
Probably true but I can't dwell on that thought. Win at 54%, right Jerry? You made a BIG mistake telling us all that.
Perfect .. they won’t do shiat as they don’t care.. why cause we all show up and support this dumpster fire.. pitching great, utility guys amazing.. but we got some real over paid crap on this team Polo, Haniger graver and the worst J rod.. we paid too shelf liquor price for a plain wrap beer player..
Yeah after last season comments I have lost faith in this organization it’s still fun to watch the game of baseball but as far as winning it all idk about that.
I don't think seattle sports fans want to win! If so why do they cheer for all those professional shhhiiittty sports franchises that cum out that city, considering year after year they just put out perennial losing seasons. I can't believe I live around so many delusional idiots in this state!
You're wrong about this team being the best team since 2001. They're a bad team with great pitching. Aside from Julio and maybe Cal, who can be considered as a potential All-Star?
Maybe Raley...
Rojas is a nice player but he's not an All-Star. He's just a competent starter, which I love!
Dylan Moore is still not someone you want in your daily starting lineup. He belongs in the 7 or 8 spot, 2 days a week to give somebody a break... on a good roster.
The Mariners shouldn't trade any meaningful prospects.
They blew it in the off-season when ownership limited the payroll and then Jerry chose to sign players who had a low probability of being successful in Seattle.
When only one player pays off, Luke Raley, I think that needs to be chalked up to dumb luck, or the law of averages.
The bottom line is that even with a few trades, they probably can't build up an offense that can win this year.
They blew it already. I've been saying it since their first move was getting Luis Urias. Haniger was a high-risk, feel-good signing that hasn't worked. Garver was a part-time player who was bound to regress in T-Mobile. Polanco hasn't been great in recent years, and while even I expected more, they shouldn't have been taking a victory lap on that guy. If they watched him play, they should've seen this coming.
Trading for three high-quality bats might not be enough to make this team a World Series contender. To get three high quality bats, you'd have to trade all the top prospects.
Even then there's no guarantees that we'll have enough hitting to win.
I blame Jerry for wasting money on Urias. I blame Jerry for giving Kelenic away. I blame Jerry for signing players who can't hit and don't fit in T-Mobile Park.
I blame Scott for repeatedly pinch hitting clowns for Josh Rojas. I blame Scott for not playing Bliss full time. I blame Scott for every time Dylan Moore goes 0-3 with 3 strikeouts, but never pinch hits for him!. It happens a lot.
Yeah, I'm salty. This organization has wasted two years of an elite rotation already. They're not gonna stay if you keep showing them you're not committed to winning.
Julio and Cal are average players on other teams in 1st, well okay Cal is catcher so he's above average. Julio has been underperforming all year... At least he gets style points for looking cool in CF 😎 to bad he can't hit a ball to save his life, he's gotta be one of the worst hitting CF in the league.
Bo, vladdy, Garcia, romano
, IKF for Emerson, montas and arroyo? I would do it as a jays fan obviously an overlay on ur end
Teams know were desperate
You keep saying the championship and stuff right? BUT still fans hope beyond hope JUST ONLY TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!
There is a reason why the Seattle Mariners are the ONLY team in MLB History without a World Series appearance. Unless upstairs gets drastically changed with lead firings + better budget and high end payoff signings, the cycle will continue and Washington fans still have to absorb mediocrity as they’ve done for the past 22 years.
The Rays are licking their chops. They have so much trade bait, and it's a sellers market.
They about to go get the 2027 All-Star team.
Jorge went 2 for 4 tonight 🤣
Don't do it Seattle
I dont mind Paredes at 3rd, but Rojas' glove has been huge there, i think you are taking a hit defensively. Also, it would be hard to make that trade and still fill another huge hole, 1b by trading those prospects
They would be stupid to trade away Clase, he's a great addition to the lineup along with Bliss and were not playing them right now? like WTF
We should go get Rooker, ASAP. Ruiz and Miller would also be nice 🙂
Overpay is what happens when you acquire and develop an elite starting pitching corps and then, in turn, provide the worst offense in the American League and expect the overall product to win and go deep into the playoffs and...dare I say....WIN A WORLD SERIES! This pitching staff knows if they give up 3 or even 2 runs they may not be able to make it up. Player development of pitching is way above the norm, the hitting development may be the worst in the majors. Now, with fans expecting the playoffs, you must overpay to make the team better. If you can't or won't do it, do us all a favor and sell the team to someone who will.
I agree owners should sell, but overpaying in trades will hurt the team more than helping. The only solution is to punt on this season, go all in on free agents in the offseason, and then re-evaluate at the deadline. Trading the farm right now will not get you any closer to a World Series and will handicap you for the future.
@@kylewilson2819 "go all in on free agents in the offseason" HA! Good joke!
Idk why this organization is always so comfortable with mediocrity. It’s about time they finally take it seriously and contend. Knowing the M’s, hell would freeze over before they try to actually contend. No matter the pain.. I still love my M’s baby 😂
I kinda hope they don't make any moves other than getting rid of the crappy players they have mainly Polanco this team isn't a deep running playoff team. So if the get a good bat they'll have overpaid for a guy to have a horrible second half because its just one threat, a new bat only works if there are other players being offensively productive.
Not a Jazz guy, but gonna be more than a lower top-10 prospect. We gave up a top-5 prospect for a year (well 2 if he wasn't terrible) of Polanco. Yea, I know it was a salary swap with it too.
I hope they don't overpay for players that consistently under perform... Imagine if the Yankees did this.
What about Kerry Carpenter or Reilly Greene from the Tigers? They both both seem like good options, on paper anyway. Or am I missing something?
All TDL moves are always an overpay
Why get Jazz when you could get an actual gold glove 2B like Hoerner?
I honestly would rather not over pay for another injury prone strikeout person. The trade class is garbage and shoving our loaded farm system for nothing is an awful idea. I would rather focus on signing our young pitchers and cal to extensions.
Even adding 2 bats does not help this team. They are no where near being world series contenders in my opinion. They need a complete offensive overhaul and a coaching change. I hope to god they do not make any trades and just wait on their prospects. In 2 years their line up will be potent. No reason to waste it by over paying for a couple bats just to get knocked out of the first round. The starting rotation is under control until 2028-2029. They have time
I think getting rid of the bad hitters and adding 3 good ones would boost us to atleast a little below average which with our pitching would make us legit contenders. We can win with below average but not absolute bottom.
@GeorgeConner69420 Yep you nailed it. It's nice to see the pitching is where it needs to be but there really is no helping the offense in any meaningful way this year. The ENTIRE lineup is underperforming. Honestly I would rather see bliss come back and have him bunt every AB than watch the hard swing and misses from the rest of the guys.
Currently 114 I Quartzsite AZ.
I say go all out. The farm is lovely but the fact is the Mariners are leading the AL West and while yes there was obviously a lot of luck involved I think throwing in the towel on this season would send a terrible message to any prospects the Ms want to keep
It be like saying you can play your best but it won't matter because
the team isn't committed to winning even when given the proverbial keys to the division.
I am also so tired of the oh no Astros are doing good excuse.
So what if they are? They are supposed to be good! Let them!
Mariners just need to be BETTER
Mariner Moe Mentum isn't just
about riding the wave to victory
You gotta make a big splash
and create the wave yourself
cant be that hot with your hair lookin that good, hoss!
My defining feature! Appreciate it, Seth!
Purely wishful thinking on my part, but I wonder if teams might still value Polanco as a comeback candidate as they might see the old Polanco again away from T-Mobile. Guys like Beltre, Winker, Chris Taylor, and even Kelenic that picked it up after leaving Seattle.
Agree 100%. This is the greatest opportunity in Mariner's history to win a World Series. Bet the farm.
95 & 01 teams a lot better than this one... not even close 😂😂
Hell... our PO team a few years ago is better than our current club
Go M's
@@Chawk12 sure that PO team might be better but the pitching gives this years team 100000000000000000000x more upside
Agree, bet the farm. All the top Mariners prospects are at AA or below. Which means at best 2 years away from being quality players at the majors.
Will the Mariners have this elite starting staff and quality bullpen in two years? Don't think so.
@@Chawk12 This is the greatest pitching staff we have ever had, hands down which trumps 95 & 01 teams.
Thought experiment: are the Mariners better if they undo every trade they made over winter?
Cabby at second is an improvement. Jarred is an improvement over Mitch. Geno at third is a wash, to a little worse. Bullpen is same, but likely worse in long haul because topa injured and Campbell is yeah... Robbie Ray would give great depth and protection for woo at this point.
I was on board at the time, but looking back now it seems we would have been better doing nothing.
Stop with Jazz. He’s mid…no better than Polanco. Not worth the price.
Wouldnt mind Mcmahon from the Rockies the Marlins if we can get Chizholm and Tanner Scott thats fine to. But the real dream is get Vladdy from the Jays then also go get Nico Hoerner from Cubs PLEASE GOD I NEVER ASK FOR ANYTHING GIVE ME THIS ONE THING lol
Bad. Chisholm isn't good enough. McMahon is much worse away from Colorado and I don't think Toronto wants to get rid of their star.
Ms have been a trash franchise for over 2 decades. Nothing will change.
That's spirit!
Worst team batting average in baseball. Third worst team OPS. Nobody we bring in can hit in Seattle.
We need McCaughan, Scott, and Jazz. Trade the farm to the Marlins
Fuck no. None of those guys help us enough and would cost the entire farm system. That's not worth it
@@kylewilson2819its a joke chill
Someone does know the bit about me. I’ve fallen off hard
1st
why are you the way that you are?
I wouldn’t trade Locklear based on France’s poor performance we going to need him.
Stand pat. Selling/buying willy nilly is just desperation. Too many people willing to sell their souls...it's just baseball.
Worst offense in baseball they need to make a trade
@@jarrettchristensen_music I agree....terrible offense. They don't NEED to make a trade....YOU want them to make a trade. Anything to win.
@@fredhicks7483 this pitching staff will not be the same next season and cal Raleigh is not going to re-sign
@@fredhicks7483 with an average offense this team could win the world series
All that smoke saying The mariners would do something not Mariner like and make a Epic trade but here we are looking at a Utility Player 😢, what’s up w the owners I think they need to sell to someone who wants to bring a World Series to SEATTLE, they definitely have the coin 🪙 to do so
