I'm so happy I found this video. I am fluent in the language (since I'm a native speaker), but my parents have never taught me how to read nor write. :)
Congrats on working towards literacy in your native Spanish. Learning never stops. I'm living in Spain and beginning the journey to speaking Spanish. Good Luck! Best Wishes!
And one more thing to add: Note: K and W are the two rarest letters. K is often replaced with C or Qu (Cangaru, Kayac, Coala, Quilate etc.) W only occurs from foreign loan words
@luciferl2003 you're literally asking for help on UA-cam on a Spanish alphabet video why not just go to the search bar and type in hindu alphabet language etc whatever you're trying to learn? ¿ qué chingados te pasa?
I just wanted to say how incredibly helpful your video on Learning Spanish Alphabet was! I've been searching for a while now, and I have to say that your video is by far the best one out there. Thank you so much for putting together such an informative resource!
I'd like to add that the "W" letter, eventhough this video is showing the Spaniard Spanish or spanish from Spain, saying the letter as "doble Veh"(double "V") will be understood also.
@@Eloquentmuse She wont theh for seh (c), but she pronounced it like seh, I really couldn't hear the TH sound, like it's clear to hear for her pronunciation of Z (theta) even tho I also learned this one as "zeta" not "theta".
Thank you! I just posted a question here about this as I was getting confused bc elsewhere they are saying "veh" for V and "doble oo" for W and I was wondering why the difference.
Thank you for this! Took 2 years in high school, but wanting to practice. My neighbors next door are Hispanic, and I want to be able to converse with them ♥ I'm surprised at how much of the alphabet I forgot, but don't have too much of an issue pronouncing words.
Thanks for showing the A is a short clipped like a cigar sound unlike the long drawn out ah sound in French! Spanish is clipped, really important for us English and French speakers.
From the Internet: The letters "ch" and "ll" were removed from the Spanish alphabet on November 28, 2010 by the Real Academia Española (RAE), the institution that governs the Spanish language. This change reduced the number of letters in the Spanish alphabet from 29 to 27, making it similar to the English alphabet, which also has 27 letters, plus the letter "ñ". Before 2010, "ch" and "ll" were considered single letters in the Spanish alphabet, and were sorted separately from "c" and "l" from 1803 to 1994. Today, "ch" and "ll" are considered digraphs, which are two letters that represent one sound.
I am half Mexican and my dad never taught me Spanish when I was younger and now I am 14 i and going to learn Spanish and teach my little brother and this summer in 2022 I will go to my Naña and Tata house and hopefully I learn more and get better
Surprisingly some difficult pronunciation for English people are easy for me since I know Urdu and Arabic. So pronouncing hard rr, kheh, cheh etc are quite easy for me. I recently started learning Spanish after learning french for nearly three years. These comparisons are very interesting.
I'm so grateful that with technology I can learn the basics of how to speak Spanish by myself and not spend hundreds of dollars. I dont want to be a minority in a room of Spanish speaking people. I'm excited for of us who want to learn any second language.
Why is the V and W pronounced differently on other videos learning Spanish (with native speakers)? They pronounce "V" as "veh" and "W" as "doble oo"... now I'm really confused. Is this a subtle thing or different depending on Castilian Spanish vs. Mexican Spanish vs. South American? 🤔 Thanks for any clarifications.
it usually just depends on the region of spanish speakers! the language itself is the same(for the most part) across the world but to different regions/cultures some things are pronounced/used differently! Typically spanish teachers use Spain's method of speaking, and they use spanish more properly! i hope that helps!!
You should explain that only in Spain do the make the TH sound for the C and Z and it is a very clear TH just like english, exactly like the word "think" (in Spain cinco is thinko). That weird sound you tried to make was just weird. C and Z are either just ssss in Latin America and TH in spain.
I have a information that is:- In 2010, the Real Academia Española (RAE) removed CH and LL and changed the pronunciation of V, W, and Y to standardize the pronunciation across all Spanish-speaking countries.
The advantage of Spanish is that every vowel has only one way of pronunciation. In English, each vowel has three, not counting the schwa, which every vowel can make.
This is good. Thank you. It will allow me to learn how to spell in Spanish, but what about the sounds of the letters? Can you help with a similar video on pronouncing the letters, so I can get the letters in words said correctly? Thanks for any help you may offer. QED

As someone who enjoys learning new languages such as Arabic and Somali for example. Most of the letters you mentioned that was hard for some people wasn’t as hard for me. (I’m not trying to show off it’s just in the Arabic and Somali alphabet most of the letters have very heavy sounds and could take time for people who speak English).
I'm not a persistent kind of person so I write this (October 14) so that everytime someone give a comment, I'll be more motivated to learn Spanish : ) ps- this is my first lesson
En la Ortografía de la lengua española de 2010 se excluyeron definitivamente del abecedario los signos ch y ll, ya que, en realidad, no son letras, sino dígrafos, esto es, conjuntos de dos letras o grafemas que representan un solo fonema.
