As a Filipino learning, this Spanish alphabet is easy for me. All the pronunciation we pronounced too. Hoping that our government will bring back the Spanish lesson for us gen z. Btw thank u for teaching it helps a lot.

There are schools actually with Spanish lessons. I went to a private school in high school and we had Spanish electives, but I didn't choose to enroll bc my grandmother used to teach me. Though, there are public high schools with these classes too!
I hope the Spanish language will be taught in school in the Philippines again because its the third largest language by number of peoples speaking it in the world.

The hindi pronunciation of English alphabet is same as Spanish 😅

As a hispanic who doesn’t speak Spanish yet I have been trying to learn since I was 9 since my grandmother wont teach me for some reason lol this is really helping though! Those r’s are tricky

Holy moly! The example you made about how we do a thing with our mouth when we say butter to pronounce a Spanish r has helped me roll my R's. Good example!

Dr. Evans, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am a native speaker teaching HS Spanish for the first time! I have always tested out of Spanish classes and never learned it in a classroom setting. So, teaching it has been challenging. I have had to learn right along with the students and you have made that so much easier to do. I found your videos some time in October, I wish I had found you in August so that I could have watched your videos from the beginning and had an idea what I was teaching (LOL!). I am moving on to Spanish 2 starting in January and I will be watching your videos and sharing them with my students as added support. Your teaching method is simple and easy to understand...thank you! Do you teach out of a curriculum, or follow a curriculum in your classroom? Our school district uses Auténtico and it seems like your videos follow right along where we are. Again, THANK YOU for these videos!

My last episode was Episode 20 from AIB and then I watched the video about AR, IR, ER verbs, Ser and Ir in the past tense. Should I pick up from lesson 34 (to see and to give in past tense) and take it from there? Thanks a lot, greetings from Portugal.
That's a good question Ricardo. I don't own the videos on AIB. They own those and control what's posted and it's been several years since I filmed those, so I don't remember the order of those. When I started this channel, I started over with a new lineup so I'm not sure where you should pick up with my lessons. I would just scan the titles of each one and see if you can determine where to pick up. Thanks for supporting this channel!

Thanks for the videos. What would be great is a video going over all possible conjugations of a verb and then prioritising the most used in detail (e.g. those used 95% of the time). Also a video showing patterns within the irregular verbs. Might be a few videos!

Who said it is Filipino don't even speak Spanish just because you guys have small Spanish words in your language it does not mean that it is, even French have some similarities with Spanish but it not easy for native to learn
Filipino language has alot of spanish roots being conquered for 333 years and its quite easy since many tagalog/filipino words have spanish origin like however there are some despite having spanish roots dont have spanish counterpart like petsa de peligro or echapuera

I really enjoyed your explanations and pronunciation of the alphabet. I watched it several times. Very helpful. Would it be possible for you to just to say the alphabet from A to Z, similar to how we do it in primary grades when we are learning it. You don’t have to sing it, but you can if you want 😀.
Thank you so much for this video sir, I'm a native Arabic speaker and I have been learning Spanish as a third language and the first thing I did is learn words and how they are pronounced and I even learned how to form basic sentences but never thought about learning alphabets first 😂 I thought that the alphabets are almost like the English alphabets so I didn't bother to know their names 😅
You are one of the few who speak perfect English and Spanish. Many English native Spanish teachers can't hold the air back when they pronounce letters like T, P, C(k). So it's really great to have you as a teacher!

Great video! I would argue that there is one dialect of Spanish that has a sound very similar to our English and that would be Costa Rican Spanish, which can has an [r] that some speakers pronounce as a retroflex approximant or a voiced alveolar approximant.
There is a slight difference between the flap of English and the tap of Spanish, but it is doesn't really matter for our purposes.
There's a huge advantage in learning spanish with native finnish, as we also spell most of the letters same way, the r is also the same. This helps to understand the individual letters but words as well. Thank you for the very clear video!

Spanish is a non-aspirating language. A native speaker never aspirates their words when talking in Spanish. English aspirates some words, and not others (compare the 'p' sound and the 'b' sound....'p' is aspirated in English, 'b' is not).
A Chinese speaker always aspirates their words...every syllable.

Love this guy’s videos, but this alphabet one is a bit janky. He trips it up by flipping back and forth between names, pronunciations, and examples. He never even says the names of r and rr. I think it would be very useful to do a straight alphabet section (names) and then a pronunciation guide. I think maybe he’s trying to hold our hands a little too much and, in the process, over-complicating this one.

Hello, Firstly, I want to say that I really appreciate that you put an emphasis on the pronunciation and actually demonstrate to us where we should place out tongue when uttering a particular sound. I would also like to ask a question about the letter "v". In your video you said that this letter is pronounced with the /v/ sound, but I've stumbled upon information saying that in Spanish there is no /v/ sound and instead they pronounce the letter v as /b/. So, for instance, "navidad" is pronounced /nabidad/. Could you please elaborate on that?
Quick question, is "v" pronounced like "vay" or "bay"? Because in the video, he says "vay", but everywhere else, I've seen it as "bay".

I'm British and we pronounce the t's in butter as t's not as d's, as is common in the US. I was able to pronounce the r as if I was an American saying butter but I've never been able to trill and therefore have problems pronouncing rr. Advice would be appreciated on how to do it.
