Frogs are a head with just enough leg to throw the head at food
Yep.
😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, they’ve always been weird to me
Truer words have never been spoken
I mean look at their tadpole form. Literally just a head with a thingy to push it towards food.
I heard frogs have a small chance of switching builds to a top tier human after kissing a human player
I hope the devs will fix this bug cus it's kinda creepy and weird
No no this rumor comes from the player base spreading around the story and distorting the details. When that happened it was because the player was originally a top tier human who got nerfed into a low tier frog. Then when he made special friends with another human the devs reversed the nerf. Players who started life as a frog have no chance of upgrading to top tier human status so there isn't a bug to fix.
@@chriswhinery925 That sucks, I've been a frog main for years and I've been trying to upgrade to a human. I'm glad you cleared up this rumour because I was just about to jump inside a female humans den, you potentially saved my life.
Yeah idk if I’m into that
This was a bug during the medieval update when a human prince fought a witch class human who turned him to a frog devs noticed the witch class and immediately removed after them being op and wanted to do an April fools joke about having the prince (A common troll in game due to his riches and on forums) have to be kissed by a human which did occur but took a while
Idk why they would patch it, it's a very small bug that only happened once, its kinda a meme in the frog and human playerbase.
Something about poison that goes overlooked a lot is this: Poison isn't something that the individual player takes advantage of, its that players whole class who does. Once enemy players get OH-KOed enough times by eating Dart Frogs, they learn their lesson, and keep away.
So while you may have died and taken out only one player with you, all your fellow and future players will thank you. And your future runs will be much easier. It's like a rougelike in that respect.
Just be sure to unlock the Danger! cosmetics after maxing out the poison our other players will start PvP against your character
😮
wow, same idea. Nice.
That's a fair argument.
No
Something tells me that TierZoo once loved the frog build and absolutely wanted to try it out, but his experience was so terrible that he ended up despising them as low-tier trash.

You see, technically the poison frogs don't ever have to worry about attacks due to players with even a low intelligence level to know not to attack the poison frogs. So they can just chill and farm exp.
Nah, their ridiculous level of poison is the result of an arms race with their only predator, a snake that developed a resistance to their toxin.
You talked about the cane toad being so high-tier, but as you pointed out, not only can some predators resist its toxin, but high intelligence predators can avoid it. This is not the case with poison dart frogs. Their toxin guarantees safety, as no amount of poison resistance or HP is enough to prevent death. It doesn't resist counterplay, it straight-up stops it dead in its tracks.
And in exchange, it’s likely to die from any attack. The toxin isn’t good enough on its own to make the Poison Dart Frog good.
This plus the fact that they spec a lot into appearance to thwart predators who know that the matchup is lethal for both of them. If it looked like any other frog the poison would be useless, but since they distinguish themselves with their bright colors any intelligent predator will stay away.
And the poison dart frogs are some of the smartest frogs in the frog kingdom as well

I heard that one time, a frog player glitched the game and switched to a max level human build after he kissed a human player, idk what exploit he used but the devs might've patched it up already
That's a mod.
Can confirm that's an urban legend-- been going through the patch notes and I've never seen reports of in-game transformations like those with properly cited sources.
They fixed that bug a few patches into the medieval expansion. It was right after the dragons got patched out, so no one really noticed.
It's just an in-joke some dev added into old patch notes after a human player told a fictional story in the forums. Sort of like Herobrine removed.
shrain
Lmao, dragons were never in the full game, they were just a mod added to give the old dinosaur players a sense of nostalgia while also griefing human npc's.
Just saved stat points and unlocked a unique skill, “Human Speech”, lets me speak English as a frog, pretty cool ngl
That the next Stat im getting
I may become a bird after my death tho
I’m a dart frog build and I’m thinking for my next level up I’ll get the teeth upgrade and then try to get fangs. Paired with my poison ability, I could absolutely destroy
As a tree frog, I can say that grip strength, climbing and stealth stats are perfect for survival mode. While water is not the best for my build, the arboreal realm of the tropical biomes my class calls home is both luxurious and offers a fair amount of defense in the form of camouflage.
TierZoo also underestimates my fellow tropical class the dart frog. The dart frogs' poison strategy is useful due to their bright coloring, while TZ considered it a negative trait. The coloring warns off predators by informing predators that they are indeed toxic. So by sacrificing stealth, they gain intimidation perks. Not many players will attack dart frogs.
Finally, due to egg clutch bonuses, the frog faction is expanding at a rapid rate. While some members of the faction are rare or seeming to die out, others like the Coqui frog and various bullfrog builds are expanding the faction rapidly. The Coqui specifically is helping us invade and even conquer the Hawaiian realm. The frog faction rivals both fish and invertebrates in terms of faction size, and due to build invertebrate builds are often incapable of harming us.
Perhaps the underestimating of the frog faction is what makes us so powerful.
You didn't mention the bullfrog's ability to delay the tadpole-frog transformation for years, allowing for a huge time period to grind for size in the beginner level allowing for the tadpole to reach a pound or more before venturing to the hostile land environment. This ability prevents mice, large bugs, and some birds from killing newly transformed frogs on entry to land, something which most frogs suffer from on top of an already large tadpole mortality.
Poison dart frog is basically the epitome of: "If I'm going down you're going down with me"
actually, its the threat of "if I'm going down you're going down with me", due to their coloration and poison level, they only have one preditor, and that build literally dumped just as many evo points into toxic res.
I think a honey bee suits that better, cause at least the dart frog can get spat back out alive by the predator. The honey bee just straight up kills itself
I don;t think thats entirely correct, most intelligent predators will avoid poison dart frogs, that's a huge buff.
Basically a class with martyrdom perk

African bullfrog's bone razors: bruh.
Laughs in Pac-Man frog
Budgett's frog has fangs too!
I have seen images of those, they seem nightmarish. Like, a habit to swallow stuff, combined with teeth pointed inwards to ensure it doesn't get out, feels like a surefire way to piss off ppl who main higher weight-class builds. And those people can end up seriously maimed, even incurring permanent damage (usually cosmetic, but I am referring to the potential infectious kind), ruining their run for at least the short-term and potentially actually griefing them so hard they rage-quit. Only high intelligence build with solid coop-strats (or symbiotes of them like cats and dogs) can properly deal with this kind of griefer for minimal effect.
Edit it to say hold my flies
Many frogs have teeth, smaller ones as well.

Long time poison dart frog player here. There's a few reasons we're so heavily invested in the aesthetics/poison combo, and we went through some pretty wonky theorycrafting to reach this point. We never specced in to poison production - instead, we went heavy on the poison resistance tree. The RES opened up a few important prey options, namely ant players and others from the arthropod guild, while a couple heavily customized storage traits let us steal their poison and concentrate it almost indefinitely. Alongside that, we went heavy on aesthetics - the only way for most builds to prey on us is to invest almost as heavily in poison resistance as we did, and that goes so far off template that not many players have even figured out how. The flashy cosmetics mean we get to engage in PvP during the day, 'cause we want to be seen clearly by anyone who targets our weight class, and that's a whole part of the day/night cycle we'd otherwise be locked out of due to poor matchups. So, yeah. We used resistance traits and alchemy to jury-rig some of the deadliest poison in the game. B tier is right, though. All that poison RES means we specced out of disease and environmental RES. It's a weird, fun, and effective build, but the sacrifices hurt, especially over the most recent patches.
You didn't even edit!
Good job!

I really can’t believe that Kermit was never part of the meta, despite his higher intelligence
That Let's Play was legendary. Whodathunk a party with a melee pig, piano playing dog, bard bear and whatever Animal is could have worked, but that entire series is one for the ages. (That "weirdo" even got a one shot of his own! Evolution points well spent, team Muppet.)
Kermit relies too heavily on a human main to get by.
Kermits only GET their intelligence from pairing with a Human Companion, and it really only helps if they spec'd into Comedy, a rather useless skill in anything but the current social meta. Kermits also have no way to reproduce without the assistance of the Human companion, and would likely go extinct should humans ever forget about this poor green frog. Never forget
@@ninjathis3009 how doe a baby muppet exist you idiot
It's true that the poison dart frog could've used its stat points more effectively. However, their reduced camouflage has a very obvious and unique side-effect: intimidate/warn-skill. The bright standing out colors actually tell predator players to stay away thus mitigating the need for being attacked first to benefit from the poison skill. Its colorful skin literally warns any predator in advance of its presence and "one-shot those who eat me" poison protection.
When people start making significant genetic modifications to animals he's probably gonna make a mod showcase
Can you imagine you're having a lovely hike in the forest just outside town, there's no large predators so you feel pretty safe, and then out of nowhere boom, poison dart frogs have evolved fangs. It leaps out at you and just barely manages to pierce your sock. It injects 5ml of venom and you die in 30 seconds. As a human intelligence build, I can confirm that frogs can be outsmarted even with their great stealth. All I need to do is walk in an area where I know there’s a lot of frogs and watch for movement as I go. When I see one move, I instantly lock on to it and track its every move. Frogs will also think there camouflaged even tho I can clearly see them, so once I spot one I inch closer and closer till I strike and catch one with my two hands👏. I’ve performed this move many times and it has around a 50% success rate on regular frogs but a much lower success rate on bigger frogs like a bull frog, but I’m sure those numbers would go up if I used tools such as a net. Of course being an overpowered human build I don’t need to consume my catches for extra xp, but it’s still fun to test my abilities sometimes.

I would argue that if you're so toxic that other players would never dare try to eat you, you don't need to be that stealthy or tough or strong or smart. Indeed, clearly sign-posting your deadliness is an advantage, since you reduce the risk of being attacked by mistake.
When you have no predators, putting points in other stats intended to protect from predators is just a waste.
But the problem is that you don’t need to use so many evolution points to have the same effect(driving predators away) and you can use those points somewhere else
@@blakechow8294 True, but some people are content with a simple, easy game rather than dominating the tier list. And that should be okay. Not everyone has to define the meta to be a good choice.

Not necessarily: they could spec into poison resistance. And it’s important to remember their their home server has some serious competition and threats on all sides. If there’s a _possibility_ of something being edible, at least one player is going to try for it.
Poison Dart Frogs bypass this by going SO poisonous that there is no way to obtain enough poison resistance to EVER make it safe to eat them, and players who try it anyway don’t just get a debuff, they suffer an immediate game over, preventing them from completing the main quest to allow new player spawns, and thus preventing them from passing on any skills that would incentivize hunting PDFs

Is it true that specking into the Buddhism religion gives faster loading times in the create new character menu?
I myself played a Buddhist monk before all this advanced technology business, and yes, it in fact does. It also gives a tiny intelligence boost for the next game only. I tried abusing the system by continuously playing a Buddhist monk for the hopes of an almost infinite intelligence for any build, but it was patched when the devs saw what I was doing.
There is a bug to do with this that could make your loading times much longer as you suddenly become a rock or crystal build as a ban
Ahh, yes, I've encountered the rock/crystal bug before... It was pretty fun to use the intelligence boost when the devs turned me into a rock, I was able to trick a low-level group of humans to worship me as a god as I spoke to them. I have other bugs I'd like to share for the pure fun of using them, and most are small enough for the devs not to care. As a treat, here's one I like doing as a giant sequoia (which should have gotten at least a mention in the tree tier list), When starting out a save as a giant sequoia, you have the ability to decrease your size to be around the fungal level as long as your last save was as a fungus. At this size, the physics engine decides you have the weight of a giant sequoia, with the size of a mushroom. This makes being a giant sequoia somewhat bearable, as no one is trying to cut down a tree the size of a mushroom... I was stepped on a few times, but otherwise, I was able to complete the main quest line pretty easily. I did immediately delete that save after getting my achievement, just to be sure the devs can't pry into my business. It was sad seeing my efforts were in vain, looking at one of the smaller patch notes, they made my exploit meaningless by decreasing giant sequoia spawn rates by a ton.
The Buddhist monk build, allows you to acquire enough KPs (Karma points) in one game, so you can cash out and retire from competitive gaming for ever.
No but you get access to the sequal of the game if you spec into Christianity. Supposedly the Heaven meta is random generated landscape so it’s infinite and it is also an MMO. Kinda like no mans sky but polished.

Poison dart frogs use destiny bond every time they get attacked
Hey, at least it works big time
It's more like using Counter

If im going to play a frog i usually play the hairy frog because of the defense and offense they get from the spikes even if you have to take damage to activate the spikes
Frog were some of the hardest things to code. We accidentally made them shoot bullets at some point, patched as fast as we could, them we accidentally made them a burger front and we fixed that aswell.
Ah yes education in the best form:
gaming language and without any big words.
Sometimes you require the big words to describe complex ideas. Language is a precision tool after all. Simple words from everyday life are not necessarily suited in academic contexts and the rigors science requires, indeed demands.

U forgot the human player gotta have the “princess” trait or the bug turns the human player into a frog themselves. Have they fixed it yet?
@@wolfdawg2584
That is just a lie spread by some human players.
Originally it was said that you would have to kill the frog either with beheading attacks or a whole body throw against a wall. This was later replaced by kissing because of censorship towards younger players.
It probably originated with Ceasar Nero, who was called a frog by other players and was part of the prince class.
That's a scam invented by perverts who are trying to get free kisses. Don't fall for it.

Can you make a video about the deep sea server and rank its builds? It’s my favorite server to play on and I think there is a lot of unique and interesting builds to look at, like several funky crustaceans and of course builds that have the bioluminescence trait like the anglerfish.

You didn’t get that pack? Oh yeah you’re missing out.
I heard that it’s a special dlc that also unlocks a new server zone.
Your videos are now what I associate the Eyewitness Discovery Kids theme too. I've replaced all my memories of grade school science with tier lists.
I would also add the Patagonia frog to this tier list. though it is rare, and only comes in expansion packs, the special abilities of this frog are quite an advantage. This frog has the special ability of shape shifting, as it can switch between an aquatic and land model. The aquatic model has loose slippery skin that increases stamina and speed in water, and the land model has dry skin with increased defense. It has the perks of both a toads durability, and a frogs speed, though it is quite vulnerable to internal attacks like disease.

Another point in the bullfrog's behaviour is that some of them (such as the African Bullfrog) have developed fang-like bone protrusions in their mouths to augment their bite force like teeth would.
Also, the male African Bullfrog exhibits parental care for their tadpoles (which is incredibly important considering how weak tadpoles are) by both defending them from predators as well as digging a small pool for them to develop in first away from aquatic predators, only digging them a channel to the main body of water once they become too big for the main pool.

The tree frogs in my biome got lucky with their seed. They farm xp at the windows of the houses due to the light attracting insect players, then retreat into the gardens during the day. Some high level players trailblazing the tree frog build.
I have such an irrational fear of frogs, and watching this video has sent shivers up my spine lol
7:45 I think there is a big misunderstanding here. The poison dart frog did not give up the Stealth skill. It intentionally dropped it to warn potential predators. Because, and this is crucial, being poisonous is not about killing the predator who bites you, it's about warning the predator that you're not to be trifled with and so being able to go on with the game.
So you should revise your opinion about poison strategy which seems to assume, erroneously, that it's about postmortem revenge.
Exactly. The Poison Dart Frog dropped stealth to almost entirely opt out of the combat meta save for it's necessity to maintain HP and Stamina. Any combat a poison dart frog build is involved in basically guarantees at minimum a trade and the only build that gives the poison dart frog build any trouble is humans with their ranged abilities but even then the amount human players that engage on poison dart frog players is miniscule. The fact that poison dart frog builds basically guarantee trades in most combat scenarios almost pushes them into a support role for for their fellow poison dart frog players by making sure other builds learn to not engage with them.
I mean, to a point it is. It's not the entire point, but it does allow a fun interaction in the respawn lobby. "Dude, what the hell? I swallowed you, I won, why am I respawning too?" "It's the poison you idiot. I gave you every warning I possibly could not to eat me and what do you do? You eat me anyway. You're just getting what you deserve."
So another thing about the poison dart frog, they don't actually generate any toxins internally. they eat toxic plants and then excrete the toxins! They actually make great pets because of this, they are brightly coloured and pretty chill about being handled, but without the toxic plants in the diet are completely harmless.
I'm pretty sure he didn't fail to acknowledge that.
The matter of the fact is, Stealth DOES provide advantages. And with the color scheme the Dart Frog opted for, Stealth has, in fact, been forgone.
Sure, he has reaped other benefits, and whether those benefits outweigh the benefits of stealth, who is to say? But Stealth IS a nice thing to have, and The dart frog spec'd out of it in the opposite direction. So saying he "gave it up," isn't at all an incorrect way of putting.
And I think the point he was trying to make, is that, if Warning predators is the playstyle he's going for, then there's little benefit to having a poison any more powerful than one that simply causes severe discomfort, because it accomplishes essentially the same thing, with much less evolution points: Dissuade predators from predating you. Hell, if you used those leftover points to spec into thicker hide, then not only Do you have a higher chance to survive the occasional fool that chooses to attack you, but they will then learn their lesson, and not attack you again. Once you spec your poison to the point where it can kill herds of Elephants, Your playstyle starts to become more about postmortem revenge, than dissuasion.
Trading is not really THAT great of a strategy (though it IS capable of providing benefits to your species as a whole, provided that your species has a high enough spawn rate), because your goal isn't to take down your opponents. It's to SURVIVE. And, funny enough, it's not the poison itself that plays a part in increasing your chances of survival, but the "making you predators believe you're poisonous."
As long as the warning (color scheme) is loud and clear, and convincing enough, there's actually not even a need to ACTUALLY even wasting any points in poison at all. It's good to have enough poison to change the mind of those that DO attack you out of foolishness, just in case. But more than that, is overkill.
It's like speccing into 1000 Attack points, and 0 defense, when the Tankiest enemies in the game have 200 Hp, and 50 Def. Why even bother having more than 250 attack?
@@KaizerHuter But they don't get the poison because they specced into poison. They are poisonous because they specced into safely ingesting and storing alkaloids in the ants they eat. They don't actually produce the poison themselves. They eat prey normally and instead of excreting all the extra bits as waste, they simply store some of it in their skin to become incredibly poisonous.
There's no actual compromise they have to make to become that poisonous. Thinking of it as speccing all your points into poison is misunderstanding them. It's more of they used one talent point for a useful dietary function that had the hidden bonus effect of making them incredibly poisonous.
And we can debate the stealth versus warning colors pretty easily. Frogs have a lot of predators: birds and snakes mostly. More accurately, frogs that opt for stealth have lots of predators. Anywhere there are frogs trying to sneak about, there are snakes and birds to eat them anyway. However, in the jungle, where there are plenty of snakes and birds, the frog that uses bright colors to scare off would-be hunters only has a single snake as it's predator. (the snake that developed immunity to the poison dart frog's poison) Plenty of animals have warning signals to scare off predators, many that can't back that up, but to have really effective defensive coloring, you need to be able to back it up. A brightly colored lizard with no poison quickly gets found out by a hungry predator desperate to test them a bit. A hungry predator that gives a poison dart frog a lick learns immediately that animal is not food and to leave it be.
