I just got one Home Depot $20. I was shocked. And it had 3 in pot it’s in coco coir. I’m tempted to leave it-because it’s so healthy
Lucky! 😇
I got lucky too!! I was so happy to see it that I just grabbed one without even any guilt for my bank account 😂
In Cali, they are sold in my fav nursery. I don’t have space for large plants so I just adore them online and when I see them in person.
Omg I wouldn’t be able to resist if I seen them in a shop 🤭
A customer at Home Depot purchased one for me, it was $20.00 dollars and the only one. I was super happy.❤
Nice! 🥰🌱
Wow 😳 we can all agree that it makes us so happy when, after so much struggle, our plants decide not to kill themselves and become beautiful. All the stress you went through was worth it 🥹💖✨. Currently, I received two corns of Alocasia Tandurusa (Jacklyn) by mail from a friend in England (I'm from Argentina) and I'm in the process of seeing if I can grow them, wish me luck 💗
I know! I am astonished by this plant 🤗 I never thought I’d get to see it in full form like this 🌱 yours will grow! Sending magic planty dust your way ✨
I’m soo happy for your success. It’s so beautiful and healthy. You did that. ❤
Thank you 🥰🌱
Stumbled across one of these that was being mishandled at Walmart. Rare find. 🍀me...I only have 4 leaves, should have been 5 but 😏 Hoping it turns out as fabulous as yours has become. Nice work!!
It will 🥰 I lost this one but have another big one that’s doing okay, it’s a tough plant but I won’t stop trying to grow it 🌱🤍
You are so funny! I love your sense of humor! And your videos are great! I literally start the day watching your videos!
Omg thank you so much 🥲 doing UA-cam and working full time can get so overwhelming but seeing comments like this really motivates me 🫶🏽🌿 I appreciate ya! 😘
I just bought this two weeks ago it was gorgeous when I brought it home. Now I am seeing yellowing of the leaves, losing the original too. I just don’t know what it wants and I think to much change to fast will make it worse. Ugh. Yours is breathtaking!
This one actually died hahah my current alocasia Jacklyn looks even better than this one though! You really have to be patient with this plant. Mine usually lose all of their leaves and it takes months for it to grow properly. Less water, more humidity if you can. Just keep that corn alive and it WILL grow 🌱
@@aprilbrooks thank you!!! After your video I decided to see what is going on and it lost all but 3 roots!!!! First time I have ever gotten root rot in an aroid mix!
April that is gorgeous!!💚💚
Thanks! It’s my fav 🥰🌿
i found an alocasia jacklyn in store today and had to have it, i just got a greenhouse cabinet a couple days ago so it’ll hopefully get good humidity! came across your video while looking for info abt this plant, this is so helpful thank you!
Sooo exciting! She’s gonna do great in the greenhouse ☺️🌿
Beautiful and amazing plants thank you for sharing lovely
🥰🫶🏽thank you!
My garden center has them now! I got one for like $30 with 6 leaves! soooo pretty!
NOICE! 😇
I’ve had 3 and I’m close to killing the third, lol. The Jacklyn has been my hardest alocasia to date and I have many varieties 😩🤣
Mine is recovering from root rot right now so don’t feel bad lol alocasia stress me OUT! 😂
April, love your channel, so informative and fun to watch. What are you currently using to fertilize your allocation Jacklyn with? I also have a Jacklyn that I got from a big box store. I am struggling with and tried using semi hydro mix of pon and leca. But lost all her leaves and the original corm turned to mush.😢 Now I am propagating from corms.🤦🏾♀️
Thank you sm 🥰🫶🏽 I use a mixture of dynagro foliage pro, cal-mag & superthrive. All linked in my amazon storefront 🌿 honestly it’s all trial and error but I feel like overwatering is the biggest issue I had, so try to cut back as much as possible. 🌱
@@aprilbrooks thank you. Yes, the water level appeared to be the problem. Even in Pon they like to stay a bit moist to dry. So I will only keep a very low reservoir in my no drainage pot. Your Jacklyn is beautiful🥰
I’m found mine at Costco in Texas for $17.99 crazy!
This was a super interesting video!
Thank you 🌿🤗
So gorgeous!! Love your channel!!
Thank you 🥰🫶🏽🌿
Have 8 species, must have it!
I am currently growing mine from a corm and she’s thriving in soil rn. I did realize that my Jacklyn doesn’t have the uppermost right lobe on her, which is super weirdz
I just purchased one for $9 with 6 leaves! I think someone mismarked it at Home Depot. Thank you for the tips!!!!!
FREAKING SCOREEEEE
Found one today at my local nursery, Alsip in St. John, IN, $27.99.
Cool! I’m in Rhode Island, I’ll let y’all know if I ever see one here 👀🌱
MISS AL💚CASIA JACKLYN ON THE WAY!!!
I realize this video is about two months old, but I found one (actually they had several on the rack) at Wally-World on clearance sadly because we all know how they “care” for all the houseplants. They just can’t take care of all the plants in the garden center properly. They just drench everything and let them sit it water. Anyway, I got excited because I loved the stems and decided to take one home and try nursing it back to health. So far I’m failing.
Lol girl mine died too I’m sooo sad! If I seen one locally I’d snack up the whole rack 😂
They have them at Lowes, thats where i got mine about 2 wks ago
I live in Rhode Island. LOL
I just received a Jacklyn that came in fluval, could I put the nursery pot into a cup where the only the bottom of the fluval is in water? Like a semi hydro setup? I really want this plant to live! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Yes. Do that. That sounds perfect just make sure to sprinkle some water on the top kinda daily to prevent it from drying out at the top! Sorry for the late reply! 🫶🏽
Lowe’s has them now, just got one 🔥
Same I picked up another one last week! The one in this video is dead but I have another big one growing I bought online a few months ago 🌱👌🏾
That's beautiful sister ❤️
Thanks mama long 🫶🏽🥰🌿
Just Want To Say Thank You For Your Info Ma'am!
& Your Super Beautiful 😁
I better go away now! 😊
I really want one but I’m scared of spider mites and killing it! Someone around me sales them for $18! And they have multiple plants in each.
Yeah they’re cheap enough to try it out ya knowwww.
I just got one from Walmart. The leaves are yellowing. It's in a self watering pot with the soil it came with.
They’re tricky little guys. I’m on my third Jacklyn 🥴
Just saw one today at my local walmart for 20 bucks it's from Costa farm
Early 2022 they weren’t in grocery stores lol
I just bought one for $20 here in Canada.
I got mine from Lowes
what happened to the corms in orbees?
Long gone hahah couldn’t tell you where
Hey April!
My jacklyn leaves are all drooping downwards, any idea what that could be? The stems are strong and straight. Got chunky soil, humidity and plenty of light, I try not to over-water
Is it rootbound? I’d definitely check on that! And if the stems are still strong and the leaves aren’t yellowing, I think she will be okay. 🌿🫶🏽
@@aprilbrooks newly repotted! Just recently showing some roots, I may be under fertilizing…what kind of light do you give yours ?
Where is this self watering pot from?
amzn.to/4f3fON1
Do you have any trailing plants like pathos in semi hydro? If so does the substrate anchor the plant in enough?
So funny you ask that. Yes I do have hanging plants in semi-hydro and have lost a couple due to them not being anchored good. You really gotta keep an eye on that lol
@@aprilbrooks Thank you! 🙏
Got mine at a local nursery, I want more to fill out my pot! There were no care tips in this video
Find another video girly 🤭
Why does mine get a new leaf then the old leaf dies? And it's not getting any bigger !
Mine is currently dying unfortunately lol
OMG it only had 1 stalk last i saw it
Holy heck
Lol I'm 5'5" and have small hands.
Hey April!
hi 😇🫶🏽
