I have one coming! Have you done an update on this Jacklyn? How was the Pon? I want to put mine in diy Pon/semi hydro as soon as possible after she arrives.
Such a good Planting! Your work is very clean and interesting.
Best wishes for you from Germany!
Thank you 🫶🏽☺️
Totally pop them corms off! I have an alocasia zebrina and it was shit in soil. Could never get out of the 3 leaf club. It didnt do well in leca either, always had rotting roots. NOW i have it in DIY PON in glass no drainage. I now have 4 leaves. Yaaaaay!!!! I also rooted a corm in the summer...still tryin to get out of the 1 leaf club with that one. 🤣
Yay, you gave me hope girl 🥰🌿🫶🏽
@@aprilbrooks sooo i got curious and took my alocasia out of its pot (i should not have) BUT i found 2 corms. I put them in a shallow dish of water and put a humidity dome over top. One is aleready starting to sprout! Yippee
Hey, I’ve just found your channel, and it’s a treasure trove. Thank you for your pon videos. I’ll be moving my calatheas and pilea cadieri there soon!
Aw thank you for being here 🫶🏽 glad I could help 🌱
Have you considered testing the pH of your tap water? Tap water can be pretty alkaline and once it's treated, plants respond very well by improved uptake of nutrients
I honestly don’t think it’s necessary. I grew this alocasia Jacklyn HUGE without doing all of that lol
Well, it's something I'm gonna start fiddling with this week cuz I'm a nerd and I like sciencey stuff 😂
😳🤗 that is truly a beautiful plant 🌱 I hope it does well for you and I hope the other one bounds back and is successful as well.
You may want to invest in a collapsing plant mat . It might be easier than using a bucket.
Side note: please don’t edit out too much of your videos🙏🏽 your natural reactions are one of the things that make your videos unique and worth watching.
Aww thank you! 🥰
you could wait for the corms to have like a longer stem to break off or for them to fall off on their own whenever you repot. They start to grow away from the mother corm. I try to remove corms when they have a root of their own. I've noticed the corms I've taken off that didn't have much of a stem growing away from the mother corm don't survive 😔
Thanks for the heads up! There’s a bunch more I left on there, some with roots as well. 🌿
I just love your videos! That’s a beautiful plant.
Aw thanks so much 🤍🌿
I just got this one I am over the moon!!!!!!! And the same thing happened with a baby silver dragon I got but he also has a new little leaf forming! So exciting! And I Love your videos!!!
Yes this is such a cool plant, I love it sm! Thank you 🫶🏽🌿
I LOVE this plant so much! I saw one yesterday but didn’t get it…. I’m going back today to buy it though😂❤
As you should ☺️🌿🫶🏽
Love the content. I may try to switch my alocasia lauterbachiana into pon because it’s dying in leca😢. Can’t wait to see future updates.
Posting an update this week 💡🫶🏽
I purchased one of those in a starter because of your vid I watched last year. That plant is so fickle LOL. I had it in a wonderful aroid mix and I just moved it to pon to see if it will do better. It is a beauty. One question! Do you get corms for Alocasias in PON? I know in a mix they produce like crazy.
Yes I have a giant alocasia Jacklyn who has given me lots of corms 🌱 actually working with them in my next video!
@@aprilbrooks Nice! I would love to have some extra corms from this plant. Your vid convinced me to purchase one, but it was a starter. Though it has not done well in a yummy aroid mix, maybe PON will do it better. I should have tried Fluval Stratum but I didn't think of it.
I just bought a med size jacklyn, it was on sale so decided to try again. My 1st one died, so pretty worried about this one. Watching all the vids on it.
Posting an update later on it 🫶🏽
I just got mine from Lowes clearance for $2 😉
Never thought to use orbeez i have a ton of them 😅
I forgot I did this 😂
Congratulations 🎉🎈🪴Happy Planting
🤍🤍🌿
Wow love this alocasia Jacklyn wanted one for a while amazing plant please do an update love your vidios 😘😘😘😘😘
same I’ve wanted one for so long! When I saw the price, I couldn’t pass it up lol thank you so much 🫶🏽🌿
Alocasias make me crazy.....bought 5, lost 4....now have one in my bathroom that is semi-existing. So scared to put it to LECA. $44.00 for a plant....you are very confident!! Alocasias....better in LECA? or PON?
Yeah I wouldn’t try Leca with this one lol not with my history. But $44 is one of the lowest prices I’ve paid for a plant hahahah
Pon, definitely. I know it's expensive. But once you've done it once, you won't go back....😊
can you please post an update? did she liked pon? Alocasia Jacklyn has been on top of my wishlist too and I recieved mine today. it's smaller than yours and I'm hesitant to move it to pon or lecca or soil. my Alocasia Azlanii loves semi hydro but my Silver Dragon seemed to hate it and preferred aroid mix. I don't know if Jacklyn transitions well to pon
There’s always an update on this plant lol gotta keep up with the videos! But I did just post an update on my Instagram story lol instagram.com/motherofplantssss
Do you have to take off the root plug when transferring to PON or can it stay on?
I would yes, I feel like it stunts the growth if you don’t. They’re probably meant to break down eventually but idk lol
It won't stand up because of the perlite. If it was pon it would be strong enough to hold her 💞. I'm a birthday girl today 71.
Happy birthday lovey!! And thanks for the tip 🫶🏽🥰
Repotting while a new leaf is coming out is CRAZYYYYY … girl WheT lol
Lol it’s been done a million times before 🌱
I thought pon need to be in a pot with drainage holes? Unlike LECA, you use it basically the same as potting mix? Though I'm sure there are different methods.
I don’t think there’s any rules really lol
I’m in love 🌱❤. I love your videos
thank you girrrl 🥰🌿
I missed the name of the seller and I don't see it listed in the description box. Can someone point me to it? I just want to have it for "future" purchases. I plan to check off some wishlist beauties later this year. Thank you.

No drainage holes?
Nope and she’s doing more than amazing 🌿
Did it survived?
Yeah check out my Instagram for the update 🌱 instagram.com/motherofplantssss
@@aprilbrooks i left mine alone, left it in the substrate it came with and now 4 days later is looking sad sad. I was kind of expecting that since it’s my first alocasias. But I wish I was wrong.
