60k really is not a lot for how good you need to be to win a big tournament. Only one person can get first place and out of everyone competing it is slim to none that you are one of the best players in the world.
it's not as hard than you would think. you'll need to grind like how you do with other games like most shooters just to be in the same level as everyone
@@namespeepo4514 any game needs grinding and discipline. but fighting games are special. there is no team, no excuses, no rng. 1on1 and thats it. of all the genres out there it seems as fighting games and rts have the steepest learning curve and most time required to be even decent. thats also partly why these games less accessible and less popular. fps games take lots of time and skill too but its a different beast.
@@namespeepo4514 ik this is not only late, but too much text even for me, but i thought i would just let this sit here anyways: of course you need to practice for any existing game but taking into consideration, execution, knowledge (fundamental and matchup), discipline/fundamentals, and the skill requirement *as well as* the skill *capacity*, fighting games and tekken especially, are very unique. most competitive games are harder than they appear to the average person, and fighting games are even harder than they appear to non-fighting game gamers. i fully believe that everyone with basic motor function is capable of being good at fgs and that people who complain that they are unplayable for those who aren't elitists or no-lifes are either ignorant or lazy, but in terms of difficulty, what fighting games offer design wise gives them so many ways to be hard compared to other games. games will be hard at high level in general, but until you fight a good player in a fighting game and especially tekken, you will see the difference between building fundamental and situational skills (meant for most competitive games) and both defensively and offensively building; fundamental, situational, matchup related, stage related, tech related, and execution/risk requiring skills (most of which are here and there in other games but very prevalent and very impactful in fgs). they will also become more complicated with occasional patching and addition of dlcs. its not even necessarily opinion based as it is logical, a ton of fgs (mostly older style ones) have way more mechanics/functions than any other genres do, this on a basic level makes it so that there is way more to learn, and you dont know how much it is until you look into it, you really dont. the most opinion based it can be is whether or not you, personally, find aiming with a mouse/controller is so incredibly hard for you that it doesnt matter how much you have to learn in an fg, its better than aiming in a game even with less knowledge requirement (and vice versa).
@@honk1419 yeah i now just realized that you need knowledge when playing fgs more than shooters. i actually tried coming back from an old arcade after they fixed tekken 6's cabinet that i used to play literally daily. i was so rusty (kept doing DSS FeelsDankMan) that it took me half an hour learn mechanics, launchers, and eventually picked up what i used to do in T6. in shooters, you can easily get into the game because all you really have to do is move your mouse to aim and press left button to shoot. while in fgs, you need critical knowledge (mechanics, follow-ups, etc.) to be able to beat a regular

Thats pretty amazing, cause the tekken he was champ of and the tekken he came back to were worlds apart its like playing N64 smash and like Wii's smash you go from input lag that you could count to less then a second lag thats a hard thing to adjust to for someone at his age which I imagine is probably in his thirties I mean he probably played in his teens and a 10 year gap from then puts him in his late twenties to early thirties far from the prime age for top tier gaming beating kids who are well into their prime is pretty outstanding feat since your response time is definitely not at their level you could say his experience in the old tekken came out there since due to input lag gameplay was far from reactionary and more anticipatory essentially you were playing chess by planning out your moves and your opponents actions and its that experience that let him succeed since he was able to anticipate his opponents moves far ahead of what people who grew up on that tekken did because they didn't need to plan so far ahead cause input lag wasn't as big of a factor they needed to account for while they honed their skills. All in all hes an amazing player kinda wish these fighting game tournaments got more recognition and sponsorships to bump up that prize pool cause not many current pro scenes have such an amazing and dedicated fan base or history for that matter that you get to see unheard of or forgotten about legends come back to the scene and make waves.

Watching this one and the video about Rangchu make me respect Arslan Ash’s run this year at both EVO Japan and EVO Vegas that much more.
