My biased for these moves makes me want to say not all of the rage drives are supposed to be flashy. They tend to be a sped up version of a pre existing move. My biggest gripe with the Tekken 7 supers is exactly what you mentioned: It's like 2-3 hits into a launcher and then a "bigger" version of a normal move. Becomes boring very fast. While the Rage drives are great for gameplay purposes they are really lacking in the flare department. If they bring back rage arts/drives for Tekken 8 I hope they are more diversified.

The coolest install ult ever would be the Kill Bill where you do the strike and if the fighter doesn't move the can keep fighting in place if they take 5 steps insta kill.
The one thing i like about Tekken is how the Subs are always close to what Miguel is saying but they're not making the correct translation During his rage art he says something more along the lines of "looks like you're about to lose" and then " GET OUT OF MY SIGHT"
Tekken definitely is my favourite fighting series to play single player... the story modes and "adventure modes" are always super fun. I really wish more fighting game would do that.
I feel stupid for asking but at 13:17 its driving me crazy because I cannot remember what game the "june in hyundai oh" as the closed caption would call it originates from, like I know its a move multiple characters use but whats the popular character for that move. feels like a move from a game from my childhood I can't remember, is it from dead or alive I feel so dumb for forgetting but its driving me a bit crazy that I can hear the sound clip in my head but not remember the character
Even though Bryan's Rage art is basically his four special moves combined...Crashing Elbow into Jet Upper into Mach Kick into Mach Punch...I really love it as all three moves after the starting elbow are so cool for me. Especially the jet upper. Coolest launcher for me in the game.
@@naiiin6949 no... they're not... they're used mid combo or launchers lol. there's only a handful of characters to use it as an ender and if they would, they would just rage art instead
You're right! The majority of Rage Drives in Tekken 7 are safe ways to open up your opponent for a desperate comeback. They're not meant to be flashy, just safe launchers to be used on a clutch moment, combo extensions or combo enders in some few cases. If Max is looking for coolness, that's what Rage Arts are for and that's why Rage Drives aren't called a second Rage Art like you would call a second fatality, for example. Even Jin's one, praised by Max is actually a utility one, since most of the time you cancel the animation for a more complete combo. Same thing goes for Lucky Chloe's. Lei's, Nina's, Julia's and Steve's first Rage Drive is meant to glue the opponent onto the wall, getting a wall combo or cheap damage either to close out the round or maintain pressure. Ganryu's, Law's and Jack-7's are for taking a quick chunk of damage. In Ganryu's example, notice he goes into a stance called "Taichiai". From there, the player finishes the job by inputting a headbutt dive. The Tekken game direction has always been reluctant in adding those things. That's why Tekken 7 is the first installment which has it. The problem is, although Tekken has robots, androids, demons, devils, a vampire, an exorcist and an angel, the majority of the cast is still made of normal human beings with a gift in their respective martial arts. In my opinion, Eddy's one is the closest we can have of a cool super made by a human character, but that one didn't appease Max. If he was expecting Injustice levels of grandness, he surely got pretty disappointed.
For me, it was the random slowdowns when characters would attack at the same time, the super moves slowing matches down, guest characters that didn't play by Tekken rules, bound in general (I didnt like it in 6 either), then the nee characters here. All of this combined is why I hung up Tekken 7 after like 6 months.
Yeah if you don't know bjj or mma it looks kinda lame or uneventful. That could've also been an arm bar/triangle combo. I also think she breaks the arm since the hit spark is on the arm
I really feel like the relatively high speed of the Tekken supers contributed a lot to how they looked. The high speed looks really good on the ninja/samurai characters, because that's what they're supposed to be doing, while on slower characters, the difference in the speed of their attacks and their movement left some awkward pauses where they're just winding up something.
after seeing so much of T8 and how the models look like, NOW you can clearly see the differences in model detail, just look at King and you know what I mean, it's insane!
I feel like its hard to judge the Rage Drives as much because they are not really Supers but have more in common with EX Moves, some of the better looking ones also require a lot more inputs to pull off than others and some of the short ones really work when in the moment as opposed to being looked at independently. Can definitely see the quality increase for the DLC rage arts though.

Seeing drives on block are almost the best part, seeing the opponent reeling like they dizzy is so much fun.
Lee was one of my favorites, the beginning and ending was beautiful⚘
You mean it was E X E R R E N T
Chloe's best RA is actually when you only just-frame 4 or 5 out of 6, so in the end she goes "LUCKY!"
Zafina's is definitely a 10/10 if you get a finish with it. Same with Kunimitsu.
Same with yoshi
And Anna. I think all the DLCs have the best one because they had a lot of time to ace them.
Negan is a reference so definitely a 10/10 for any TWD fan
I can't explain it, but something about this game's moves just hits. The violence in the way they just fucking smack eachother is really satisfying.
Maximilian when humans punch: "that's so uninspired"
Maximilian when characters punch while blue: "9 OUT OF TEN"
Leroy's definitely my favourite, love the final one inch punch, so badass
The coolest install ult ever would be the Kill Bill where you do the strike and if the fighter doesn't move the can keep fighting in place if they take 5 steps insta kill.
6:57 i dont think anyone has mentioned this already but if you fight against the robots theyll have a different damage effect
My birthday became even better thanks to Max
The one thing i like about Tekken is how the Subs are always close to what Miguel is saying but they're not making the correct translation
During his rage art he says something more along the lines of "looks like you're about to lose" and then " GET OUT OF MY SIGHT"
Love how Anna's bazooka super is a callback to the Tekken 5 intro
It's actually adapted from her tekken tag 2 ending. Her throwing knives to Nina and Zafina and launching a bazooka to Kunimitsu.
Finally it has come I’ve waited for years for this moment
I say Kaz’s final devil form in story has the best super, and Akuma’s finishing animation for the raging demon in the secret boss is a close second
Should of been doing with the round ending attack, adds an extra scene at the end for each
Even though Bryan's Rage art is basically his four special moves combined...Crashing Elbow into Jet Upper into Mach Kick into Mach Punch...I really love it as all three moves after the starting elbow are so cool for me. Especially the jet upper. Coolest launcher for me in the game.
really important timestamps 10:20 23:43 26:28
I know it's technically not a fighting game, but doing a Rate The Super on Project X Zone and Project X Zone 2 would be really neat.
@9:15 Paul can cancel after the first hit then combo for huge damage
Anna be getting a 10/10 like always she da queen.
Time to watch this again lol
Rage drives are all meant to be utility moves so it's kinda odd to rate them based on coolness
So of them do look cool tho so I don't think it's that weird
@@freyzerb.castro9124 most of those are used as combo enders tho, that's why they can be flashy
@@naiiin6949 no... they're not... they're used mid combo or launchers lol. there's only a handful of characters to use it as an ender and if they would, they would just rage art instead
@@parry3439 the three flashy ones that come to mind are kazuya's, fahkumram's and katarina's, which are all valid combo-/wallenders
20:45 Somebody needs to meme this face, it's just fantastic! LOL
You do it
For me, it was the random slowdowns when characters would attack at the same time, the super moves slowing matches down, guest characters that didn't play by Tekken rules, bound in general (I didnt like it in 6 either), then the nee characters here. All of this combined is why I hung up Tekken 7 after like 6 months.
Max out here making me wanna play Tekken 7 again
For Nina's Rage Art, she actually does a Triangle Choke, so she actually *is* breaking your neck when she does it.
A triangle choke wouldn’t break a neck.
And you can actually hear it, but the sound is super-quiet.
Yeah if you don't know bjj or mma it looks kinda lame or uneventful. That could've also been an arm bar/triangle combo. I also think she breaks the arm since the hit spark is on the arm
I've been waiting for this for so long
If only max understood the Kazuchika Okada reference for the king super.
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for this one! Finally!
Finally!! Been waiting for ages for you to do this 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve Mandela effected myself cause I was 100% convinced Kuma’s rage art played guitar music when he caught the fish
Ngl that geese Howard ten hit combo was badass my favourite rage art
Vid got taken down just before the Murdock super happened x3. Super funny
after seeing so much of T8 and how the models look like, NOW you can clearly see the differences in model detail, just look at King and you know what I mean, it's insane!
17:14 I keep forgetting this guy is in the game and every time I’m reminded I have a little “wtf” moment
Man, I knew King had Okada's Rainmaker as an alternate rage art but man... I did not know Lars had Tanahashi's Slingblade as an alternate complete with the pose at the end. I marked out tbh. Had not played Tekken in a long while.
Most of nina's grabs are a series of limb breakers only for her rage to be one
I do like how alot of dlc characters get extra animations on their rage arts if they KO with it, Geese and Ganryu's stand out the most to me
Even Geese's Super is underwhelming. Honestly, how could you screw over Geese Howard?
@@philithegamer8265 Mainly cause Harada has huge nostalgia boner for Fatal Fury and Rashamon used to be a big deal back then.
@@raionbomber75 Don't blame Harada. Geese is awesome so why give him a weaksauce rageart and super? That's oxymoronic.
Like how Miguel’s is just, *beats you in Spanish*
I had this idea for Max. Glad he’s doing it
Man, the Tekken 7 character select music SLAPS.
20:33 That face was like "duuuuuh, dah fuck did I just witnessed?" 🤣
Omfg finally ahhhhhh I've been looking forward to this forever
"Twist your elbow a bit" DUDE NINA SNAPPED THEIR NECK WDYM
I never knew about the King doing the Okada pose and Rainmaker that’s so cool
Negans Rage Art is a replica of what he does when he kills Abraham in the show.
The fact that you called an update that we didn't expect as a community,, and were certain wasn't happening, is why I completely am loyal to you as a viewer. I've played less SF in total than you've played Tekken, but damnit I respect your opinions.
