I got in on the Silk Road wayyyyyy long ago before it was a thing, from Deadheads at hippie festivals. Back when most people had no idea there were any other browsers and the internet was still at the beginning of Facebook and UA-cam and that's about it. The shit my friends got off there from China/Netherlands was SO CRAZY POWERFUL. I remember once, they got loads of MDMA, and I did from them, and it came in 3 different strengths and was insanely pure. The first 2 were pretty intense, but I wouldn't even get rid of the most potent one unless it was to a seasoned drug-veteran, and even then I gave them a huge warning not to take 2 in under 2 hours or you die. It was WAY too addicting and if you mixed it with alcohol you would probably just die. Still safer than how it is now. Good job, America. Now everything is cut with F. Everyone is dying from F. Nothing has gotten better. This is like 10+ years ago and there are still no treatment centers were people can feel safe and get over their addictions. They still just die in the shadow and nobody cares, in America, while directly north, in Canada, there is SO MUCH HELP. Safe places. Needle exchanges. Etc. So glad I'm well past that chapter of my life and have been for many years, but dude, it's always going to exist. There have been 30 iterations of the Silk Road since it was *taken down*, at least.
Attacking this guy, in my eyes, is worse than declaring an infinite war on an inanimate object. You lose the second you start.

as KalidFX has said, his biggest mistake was moving to other western countries, he could have moved to China or Russia and have worked for them possibly by creating an online marketplace for all kinds of illegal things... he could have probably contacted some higher up in their governments and telling them that he wants to work for them in exchange for freedom...
which is why i believe he didnt do these things for money, as his history shows he was a firm libertarian and that makes sense considering he created a marketplace online with no restrictions on what you can buy or not (with the exception of guns)... im in no way saying that what he did was right or that he doesnt deserve punishment but 2 lifetimes plus 40 years without parole is just too much for a non violent crime, especially for a first offender...
also considering his background of being caring and loving to his closed ones, i think he deserves to see his family in the free world, keeping someone away from their family and friends and also destroying their future for something like this is an overkill... also his message asking for freedom before he dies is actually heartbreaking, even if it is from a criminal
