i was debating brining it first ( but the turkey just went in the brining bucket...) or just rubbing it and putting it on the smoker. ( i don't have a toaster oven )
I haven’t ordered it yet, but I want one. I’m going to watch all the videos first to make sure I don’t destroy the thing on the first day! thanks Jeven!
its not that hard but if u havent getting like a 40 dollar drone and flying it around a bit before this one could help, this drone is way easier to fly then others however.
Yes. All DJI mavic drones are super easy to fly and do a great job of hovering. I've flown a lot of cheap drones and most are much more difficult to fly then any DJI drone. Just be cautious as you get comfortable with the controls and you'll most definitely be fine. The only problems that arise is when you get stupid people who try to fly something like an inspire in a narrow space for its first flight. Or turn of the sensors, put it in sport, and immediately go full speed. As long as you have some common sense, you're golden.
Yep, should have used maps (tip #9) yesterday. Was over the middle of an 8000 acre lake w/ 38% battery. Using the camera, I started flying back to what I thought was my shore line. About a minute later I realized I was headed for the opposite shore that looked very similar to mine. Used RTH and all ended well. Maps function for sure next time.
Another tip could be to make sure you dont forget to press "stop" recording after you are done shooting a video because if you land and shut everything down without pressing stop recording your video file will be corrupt and won't play when you go to take it off the memory card.
Mistake 5...hand launching. I would also recommend having the camera facing away from you, as it was during this demonstration. Newbies might not have noticed that. If the camera is facing you, the controls will seem reversed to you. So, wind to your back and camera facing away from you. And it's even more important for hand landing.
Also, most car hoods are tilted, which makes the drone take off at an angle -- this will occasionally make your drone crash. Learned that one the hard way!
Don’t do it! You don’t know half of the hassle to be able to fly it. Check FAA and all the regulations in place and on the way, fees and approvals needed before committing to the idea.
My point about the sun flare is don't let it just sit in your shot and create this weird purple blob on the side of your frame. It looks fine if its in and out though
Thanks guys, I’ve got a few hours under my belt with my parrot bebop 2 but decided to take the plunge and purchased the mini 2 . Great advice for us new to the mavic family.
Got mine today and I'm very impressed with it. I have the Mavic 2 pro & mavic air and suspect this little thing is going to get used the most out of those. Bought it for hiking & wild camping expedictions as it's so tiny. Its much better than I anticipated it would be.
Not gonna lie I got my mini 2 a few days ago and took it oit like 3 times, and now wtaching this video makes me feel like a smartass because I thought of the flares the wind while takeoff and the map return, but still I learned so much more from this video, for example the 4k quickshots and the time of day. Thanks for all the advice!
I'm a new pilot, and I learned my lesson today, To not take off/landing on the sandy floor the sand stuck into my gimbal, its show some warning, overload & jittery. but luckily I made it to blow the sand out. I tell you what, that is one pretty scary experience for a new pilot like me.
Great video and great tips. Id like to add to this by sharing a mistake i made when I first started flying my MP1 4 years ago. When you lose your video feed on account of many ways it can happen doesn't mean you lost control of your done. I made the mistake of thinking if I lost video signal that I also lost all signal and when I had my forward stick pushed I didn't even realize that I was keeping my forward stick pushed and I almost ran into a hotel because the wind was pushing the drone off course and towards a tall hotel and if the video hadn't come back on I would have hit and crashed it
Excellent video guys! So (at 58), I never had a drone and my mini 2 arrives Tuesday. Consequently, I have a typical "dumb" question. Can I switch modes from sport/cine/normal "on the fly" or do I have to stop the drone flight first?
Wow a clickbait video that is 0% bs. Thank you for making a solid video. This is my second drone but I didn't use my first 1080p phantom much because the size but this mini 2 is super portable and easy to use.
Jan 2021. I'll be getting a Mini2 soon and doing my homework prior to purchase and the lockdown. No.1and 5 is definitely a mistake I would make, thanks. No.7, 9 and 10 are gold especially 9, that is being pro and treating the passion right.
I should've watched these videos before I flew my mini se I got happy and well I crash on my first day😢 was stuck in a 72' palm tree for 3 weeks but I got it back it works and I have the mini 2 and even tho I feel experienced I always watch type of content just in case I missed something. Safe flying everyone ✌🏼
@@caydn2 Wow, you really live in a utopia, then. No wonder Europeans believe even the fence is made of sausage in Canada! :D Once I met a housewife from Canada who told me it was a poor and backwards country, but now I'm beginning to realize she didn't really mean it, she just said it out of sympathy for mine.
Love my mini even with my broken gimbal repair that now no longer tilts properly... 1st MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO WITH MY MINI 2 FLY MORE PURCHASE IS B U Y THE DJI CARE REFRESH, NEW PILOT , EXPERIENCED PILOT OR WANNABE PILOT. MY mini 1 second biggest mistake was not realizing that if you buy DJI s latest & greatest, you may likely be about to invest in an Apples 🍏 latest and greatest just to experience a chance to fly outta range of your neighbors launch from an impact of a BB gun or wrist rocket rock! True story, written from my I pad pro 11 ($500 other bucks later).
I got my mini yesterday and broke it today. I sucked it up and told myself that this will make me a better drone pilot and whatever doesn't kill my drone will make it stronger.
Thank you...I have also watched this video twice. Also very informative. Thank you so much! I am so looking forward to getting my hands on my drone! Keep the tips and tricks coming!
#5 Hand Catching: We prefer the wind is coming from 90'. Left or right doesn't matter. With the wind coming from the back, the human body will create wind turbulence which might cause the drone to overcompensate and you still get it into the face.
It was a very helpful and excellent video. I'm new following. I subscribed. I hope this kind of useful videos will come. I'm trying to become professional about real estate exterior and interior shots. If there are future videos like this, I will follow them with interest. good luck to everyone's work and mouth in advance.
The only RTH issue that I have had is while flying under a tree canopy. I was shooting b-roll of me setting up my camera gear and then it went in RTH mode due to a low battery. Thankfully it crashed on top of a fallen tree as opposed to the waterfall I was shooting. 😳👍
One of the things that I did not realize when I first flew my drone was the altitude shown in the app (and the return to home altitude) is the altitude above the take of point and not above the ground. This is NOT made clear even if it might appear to some to be obvious as the drone does not have a good way of measuring the height above the ground. I do think this should be made clearer in Beginners guides and in the DJI flyapp and instructions! Flyers must alter this as the ground rises or falls to avoid trees or other structures or if flying high to avoid exceeding the 400 foot level and breaking the law!

hope you could spare me your old drone
Thank you so much, I was just about to cook my drone in the toaster oven.
Naturally it’s the first thing you want to do
i was debating brining it first ( but the turkey just went in the brining bucket...) or just rubbing it and putting it on the smoker. ( i don't have a toaster oven )
Same I thought it would taste super good
I just did it. Worked well. Just keep the oven at no more than 400°.
LMAO , (x
I was getting the same vibes
I love that you were discussing more on the creative side and Aldryn more on the practical side. Awesome collab!
Thanks!!

Exactly
The "mirror image" effect is the ban of a newbie's existence. It drove me nuts at first.
Just got mine, and if I do hand land I will take your advice !
Also, most car hoods are tilted, which makes the drone take off at an angle -- this will occasionally make your drone crash. Learned that one the hard way!
yeah i tried landing on the top of my trunk and it launched into the bed of my truck lol
You boys are what make youtube great . Thank you both, First Class !
Thanks alot bro I always wondered why 4k was only for videos now I can happily snap with 4k!!😊
Super helpful guys! Just picked up the Mini 2!! Can’t wait to fly!
wow amazing drone bro..i love it..one day i will buy it
Awesome! It's a fun little drone!

The map tip is great, thanks. I will definitely be using that feature a lot from now on.

So glad this guy pointed to the sun each time. I wasn’t sure what he was talking about.
Excellent dive into shorts. I’ll probably be stopping shorts to focus back on long form content 👍
Thanks guys for the helpful tips.
