Finally decided to buy one and will attempt to fit it myself next week... how did you find the factory plastic inserts hold up? I've heard people move to rivnuts for a more secure install? Thanks for the guide!
Glad to see someone else attempting this haha! I've got the airtec snorkel and tjm outback bar coming so I am hoping the install goes smoothly like yours
Have you had any water leaking through the A pillar where you put the upper mount? I installed my snorkel yesterday and was thinking maybe I should have put silicone.
Hey, I think the Ironman bar looks better but when I did a survey on user experience there were a few minor build quality issues. Truthfully, the selling point for me boiled down to it being made here in Australia. If you haven't already, check out my Bullbar video 😎
Hey bud, any vibration when your sitting at idle? mine vibrates like crazy at the top of the intake, I've used rivnuts in the pillar bracket and it is solid af but the top just vibrates a whole heap.
Good stuff on the install! Couldn't bring myself to drill a huge hole into the side of the car haha. How come you aren't going PIAK? You seemed keen on one of those (ARB one looks great too)

Hi I done exactly same as you car performance is much better. However today on 15000 service Mitzi blow up air box on back side where air intake is. Trying to get me to pay for new one 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ How they done this is beyond me
@@mrtriton5405 Hey mate, me again. I find it's gets quite warm around the intake and air box. Do you find the same with yours? We heading for the Simpson in 2 weeks and she's going to work really hard.
@@fanielategan5547 The engine bay does get pretty hot on hot days in particular. I'm not aware of any issues caused by the heat but if you're in 4L and the revs are up for a couple hours as you travel about keep an eye on your engine temp and maybe check the engine bay once in a while 👍 enjoy your trip mate!
I don't know for sure but if the Safari and TJM snorkels are the same size you'd think they'd both be compatible with the side rails. I'd suggest making a post on the MR Triton owners Facebook group or calling TJM 👌
Nerves of absolute steel - you did it with such confidence.
I love your land cruiser remarks 😎
We have a Safari snorkel on our Triton.. love the sound of it sucking the air in aswell as the turbo whine
???

Finally installed my safari snorkel...love it 🤙
Fantastic!
great vid, gonna grab me a snorkel this weekend
Finally got the confidence to do mine, never really knew they were so loud, i did fit hiflo filter aswell though
Yeah there's a fair bit of induction sound for sure!
Geez you’re really pumping them out.
I predict a rosy future for you on UA-cam! 👍
I’ve got a haircut just like you…except in reverse! 🤪
great video! keen for the other installs to come

@samB_o Great to hear mate! Thus far they've held up with no dramas. That said, I recon riv nuts would be a great alternative 👍

great job mate, heads up I put the mitsubishi snorkel on myself and double check the inserted nut location it's off by all least a nut
congrats for over 1k subs now!

I didn't put any in there but I recon that's a great idea 👍
Hey mate what steered u away from the piak bull bar in the end. Was going to get the tjm outback but the piak looks tough

@@mrtriton5405 so u ended up going with the ARB yeah? The build quality issues were they with the ironman or the piak

Not really but I've had to tighten up the intake up the top a few times 👌
@@mrtriton5405 have a go at some locktite
I’m thinking of getting a TJM snorkel. What do you think of your Safari snorkel?
Good videos and info, thank you
Thanks mate. In my eyes the Safari Snorkel is flawless. Simple, strong, easy installation, reasonably priced and gets the job done 👍
Does these self installations void any warranties?
I see no reason why it would 🤔
Any reason you went Safari over other brands, TJM for example?
Only real reason is that Safari is a proven Aussie brand and I prefer the classic look. I'm sure the other brands perform just as well :)
Can't argue with that! Keep the content coming, been good to follow
Awesome work as per usual mate. This is the video I've been searching for. Do you reckon the process for a stainless snorkel would be much different?
Nah it'd be pretty much the same 👍

After further research I found that the ARB was a bit better in terms of build quality for very similar money 🙂
What about compared to the Ironman bull bar? Thoughts?

Hey mate, great video thanks. Does yours make as much noise as mine though? Hahaha! Just wondering if I've missed something.

Has anyone got a tjm bull bar and side rails fitted with a safari snorkle? Im trying to work out if they will fit together on the side of my ute 😂🤦♂️

When u get a bullbar buy a winch at the the same time saves doing the job twice thats what i did
I am just thinking about getting a safari snorkel. There is no way in hell I would do it myself. I 100% guarantee it I would cock it up 😬
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared to cut a 12cm hole in my new car 😆
@@mrtriton5405 haha I bet. You're braver than me. I just can't do it.
Same here dude. I'd give most things a go, but this looks fucking terrifying.
Mm two vids
Same vid, just had to re-upload due to an editing error 🤪
