Curious to know if anyone has gone from stock Mitsubishi triton snorkel to safari? What his installed is what I want for my MQ but I know the drilled hole on the stock is completely different to what safari snorkel placement is meant to be
Thanks mate! I just used a silver rust proof paint after a cut the holes in the guard. Goodluck! You'll be right - just take care when your cutting in the guard and flare but take extra care when you drilling into the pillar.
The instructions state it is the fitters decision to block it or not. Water can still get in through the drain holes in deep water crossings so that's why I plug it. And any small amount of water that might get in should be picked up during regular maintenance.
@@campthecoast3353 that's fair enough. I plan on installing a wedgetail airtec in the coming months so with that design I definitely wont be blocking the drain haha
anyone give me a hand? just fitted my Safari Snorkel and im getting the Ironman bullbar w/ side rails and steps fitted, just curious if the Snorkel will be in the way. cheers
General rule of thumb - you've done the right thing, the snorkel should always be fitted first! Because the distance with the side rails can be adjusted to suit a snorkel. If in doubt , just mention it to the installer first.
Just had mine fitted by ARB and they drilled all the holes for the wrong snorkel and not the Armax so I wish I had done it myself now its off to the panel shop at there cost but still very disappointing.
This video is literally the decider for me to DIY a snork. Thankyou for putting this video into the world!! 🤙🏼
You're welcome!
Few tips if ya don’t already know. Can use ear buds to paint the drilled holes and a bit of flyscreen between the grill and pipe on the air intake end
Lol the relief when the intake hole actually lines up 😂
Granted this video was a while ago, great job on sealing and riveting together the air box and piping. I really appreciated that touch, love it.
Thanks for the clip in total how long did it take you to do and what size hole cutter Do you need
Thanks heaps for the video mate......I just installed a safari snorkel on my MQ today and your video gave me the confidence to have a crack myself. 👍🏼
Awesome vid mate. What size hole saw did you end up using?
putting mine on next weekend looks pretty straight forward

Hey thanks for sharing this video.
What were those plugs you installed and screwed into in the pillar and where are they available from please?
Hey mate. They just came in the snorkel kit from Safari.
@@campthecoast3353 Thanks, I thought that may be the case.
@@bamzz7801 Its possible you could buy them separately, but you would have to contact someone that supplies the safari snorkel
@@campthecoast3353 Thanks, much appreciated. I think I may have found an alternative.
Hi there I have tge same car and it has a snorkel but making noise while exalarat any idea?
Hey Rhys,
Great vid mate, gonna get stuck into having a crack for myself. What was that paste you applied to the holes once they were all cut out?
Thanks mate!

Make the job look so easy!
What did you put on the cut out? Is it paint?
Quality content as always
Cheers bud!
Hey bro what tyres have you got on the exceed rims? Maxxis?
Nice video. How long took u for the installation including to dry the touch up paints?!!
great vid Mate, i cringed at the hole saw part though
Interesting decision to seal up the water drain. Was that in the instructions?

Thanks!
Very well made video! Thanks 👍
Great video :) It helped me out a lot..... to decide NOT to fit it myself (I don't trust myself LOL). Cheers, Don :) (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)

Hey mate
What did you use for preventing the rust when u drilled ? And what type of selicon you used for seal?
Hey, I just painted the holes using a rust kill paint, and the silicon is the wurth 3 bond sealant because its dpf safe

Oh no! Its really unfortunate when that stuff happens hey!?
Glad they ate fixing it up for you though.
Dam I wish I could get you to fit one on my truck, you did a perfect job on this one 👍
