Driving the wrong way over a pedestrian crossing, how crazy can you get?
There was a clip on one of the dashcam channels a while back where someone (drunk) went the wrong side of a central refuge and clean bowled over a pedestrian. The hero cammer dropped off his passenger to attend to the pedestrian and went off after the offender, while calling the police. Driver was prosectued.
Some think it's perfectly acceptable, incredible...

One thing I’ve realised with you Mikey, you seem to always be correct no matter the situation. And when you do get proven wrong, you STILL have some sort of justification for why you’re correct.
1:14 - I'll never understand why an individual has a business/company name on the vehicle & decides to drive in this way, would they do the same if the CEO was in the vehicle? I drive a company vehicle & van dependant on the sites I go to, I stick to the speed limit yet some people decide to tailgate + flash me..if I was speeding & driving wrecklesly they'd be the first to report my behaviour. In the past I have reported the multiple bad acts of a van driver to his company#s transport manager. Appearing indifferent at first he took genuine interest when he realised I was simply a witness (no traffic altercation) and more significantly how how I got his company details - off his company's van!

Good to see you reporting bikes. That junction is lethal for literally everyone that is using it I do wonder how anyone isn't killed or injured.
It's a busy crossing at times, but when it's on your path, take your time and everyone will be fine.

I ride a bike in a very unfriendly bike city. I'm on my way out the door for work, and I wish there were more CyclingMikeys in the world.
Its time the government enforce bicycle registration too so mikey can also stop bicycle who are against the rules. My son was hit by a bicycle last year when we want to cross the road. It was red and that guy was not stopping and keep cycling. Maybe he expect us pedestrian to give him way..IDK

Wish we had someone like you round where I live. I havent got the patience and would end up in trouble.
We have people like that around here, they are called traffic police. Too bad they are usually camping spots where people tend to speed a bit without it really being an issue. Sure, you have to stick to the limit everywhere, but I'd rather they stake out spots where speeding or behaviour like in this video actually causes danger. They'll catch fewer people, but the impact will be greater.
TBF speed cameras have saved a tremendous number of lives. More speed cameras are good, and even better will be the mandatory speed limiters on new cars that are coming in the EU.
Wish the same thing though I feel I help alongside with my dashcam submissions. There are times though where I feel some cases should be taken action on but didn't. Only thing I could think of is lack of time as the met must be getting lots of submissions coming in now. One submission took 10 days before they told me they sent the driver a warning letter for aggressively edging in my lane when he realised the wrong lane he used to queue jump was blocked by a car in front of him
@@CyclingMikey The speed limiters wouldn’t help your situation, where speeds are usually less than 45 kmh. On the open roads speed limiters can be dangerous, especially when trucks and traffic is already going 130 Kmh.

We are all in a hurry! The boss and the customer are waiting, I have an appointment and left too late, it's only a small infraction to gain some time, so why not? And that's how we create most accidents. Following the rules and we would be much safer, we all carry that responsibility.

In defence of UPS drivers (since I am one lol) the proper trained driver did the right thing, the guy in the first UPS van is not a UPS delivery driver; they would NEVER let a driver go delivering out of uniform. I’m guessing there was something wrong with the van and he was a UPS mechanic who had brought a van out to the driver and swapped everything over, and the mechanic was heading back to the centre.
In all fairness, that's an astonishing green car, awesome colour.
I think those green VRS Skodas look really cool and striking. However, it’s a shame that the standard of driving was less than awesome.
We don't have that green available in Australia. Only the mamba green.
What you need to record is the wagon stopped next to the traffic Island preventing the free flow of bikes and bicycles.
It's not great driving, that's for sure, but it's not really very illegal or dangerous, just annoying. Unlike those going on the wrong side who are driving dangerously.

1 of the annoying things I see in this video is the amount of motorbikes and mopeds going on the other side of the road on a keep left sign, also to make things worst the majority of these riders that I noticed are 'LEARNERS'!! 😠😠 I am not sure the Police are doing enough to stop some of these drivers and riders get away with bad driving! 😔😔

Why don't police (or whoever) install a camera to record the plates of these egregious numpties? And then prosecutions could be sent by post and points/fines could be automatically applied.

Yes, good comment and of course I have concerns - it's wrong, and they shouldn't do it. There are several reasons why I don't deal with motorcyclists and cyclists doing this:
1) By far the most danger comes from the car drivers doing this, not only because of their size and mass, but also because of the speed and carelessness which many drivers go through here. In contrast most motorcyclists and cyclists are much more careful when doing this. Two wheelers have skin in the game, drivers do not.
2) I have limited spare time, and I'm not going to spend all of it doing this. That means I'll focus on the most dangerous, being the drivers. This is fairness. It's also my choice.
3) I don't feel able to stop cyclists or motorcyclists doing this as if they fell off because of me stopping them I'd be on very dodgy moral and legal grounds.
4) Whilst I can report the motorcyclists who do this, I tend only to report the few who do it dangerously. I obviously can't report the cyclists, so all I do is occasionally scold them from the corner.
5) The Royal Parks police do much the same - rarely stopping cyclists and motorcyclists, and often stopping the drivers when they stake out this junction. That's a good sense check that I'm doing the right thing.
6) If you want to come down and stop cyclists, feel free to do so. I'll happily film and support you.
7) I can only stop one person at a time. If I've stopped a car, then trying to stop a cyclist would simply result in both easily getting past me.
8) It's classic whataboutery to complain about a different thing when I'm dealing with drivers. The focus of this video is the driver.

To be honest mate, you say you don't stop cyclists because there's a risk they'll fall. Fair enough but making that big van reverse was equally as risky. Massive blind spot. There could have been anything behind him and unless he has a reversing camera, he can't see it. I'm not excusing what he did but you need to be careful.
Good point. In and of itself, there's no point making them go back. Just making them slow down equally reduces the risk they are creating. It doesn't matter if they get away with it in the moment. Let the police report tell them off (although, admittedly, that doesn't always happen).

Drivers are getting worse and worse these days. I purposefully walked out to cross a roundabout corner, infront of a guy not indicating to turn off, then he has the audacity to open his door and look back at me shouting, only to shut up when I'm shouting to use his indicator. It baffles me how people don't have the brain capacity to flick a switch, yet has enough brain cells to open the car door. Grade A plebs on the road today, I'm worried for the day when I get a car. 36 years old though, so I probably won't bother. I've gone this long without.
To be fair, if they can't open a door, they can't get behind the wheel.

You cant be there all day but a camera can, then send the tickets through the post. It's just confrontational and that's what makes it a good video.
The police know what's going on at this corner but do nothing about it, then when a member of the public(Mikey) does the job for them they sometimes don't even follow up on it, how fu**ing lazy is that? On Latchmear Rd in battersea this happens too and its on a bend with a double white line in the middle, really shocking how ppl risk others lives for a couple on min off their driving time

1) Since this Gandalf spot is so "sensitive" and dangerous, since so many drivers take the wrong way to save time, WHY don't the authorities install cameras there that will systematically see and fine the "bad drivers" ?? It's been done at traffic lights spots for years ! Why not here ? If punishment was systematic, drivers would quickly know it and would stop.
2) I noticed that many drivers coming on the main road ( not St Edmund's Terrace, but the one behind you perpendicular to it) stop in the middle of the crossroad when there is a queue in front, hence blocking those arriving at St Edmund's who get stuck and can't go straight nor turn right ! In consequence, queue is long and drivers in a hurry jump the queue. Again, the authorities should paint yellow lines at the crossroad making it forbidden to stop in the middle if there is no room in front. Drivers should not jump queue and go the wrong way but the way this crossroad is designed is stupid and the authorities are to be blamed here as well ! It creates the conditions for "cheating"... Have you told them ?? If you have, good. if you haven't then you should, unless it's your pleasure just to catch people being wrong.
I am still at a loss as to why the local council do not fit cameras to this junction to catch all these drivers ? The thing would pay for itself within a month

2:40 it is amazing what people will risk to save a few seconds. Like this guy: you stopped him, he then did the right thing and returned to the queue, then was able to make his turn, all within a minute. A much better response than that NHS lady that got out of her car and called the police on herself 😂 I do similar things to this when I'm driving and biking, not for the sake of my own safety or convenience, but for that of the whole public.
