It is alarming how quickly the van has to stop at zebra crossing at 0:45 😮. Drivers need to be slowing down and pay more attention.
Good reflexes though
It sounded like whatever was in the back of that van went for a burton when the driver hit the brakes.
Yeah but WhatsApp is so important as well you know
I've had so many run ins with White van drivers over the years lol.I even had a set to in a carpark over lockdown in a Carpark miles away from where I was supposed to be.(Naughty boy) That's why I couldn't call the police .Lol
In my opinion it sounded like the ABS had to kick in...
The two doctors is still the best one by far . I loved it
Absolutely 💯% for sure..🤣
And then there was recently the wrong way driver claiming to be on their way "to see a doctor". I believe it turned out to be nothing more than a routine physio visit!
do you think the two Doctors would be up for a Christmas Special?
That was pretty funny that one. I have no idea what that guy in the taxi said, all I heard was “remember what you do on the bike, yeah”. My favourite was with GV68 KFX aka the merc a-class driver who got owned by the metropolitan police
@@benfawcett2692 lmao 🤣
I seriously wonder how some people get home every day without an accident. Keep doing what you're doing Mikey. Love the content.
Because better motorists / motorcyclists / cyclists / pedestrians make allowances for them.
There is a significant fraction of the driving population who are simply getting lucky continually, and assuming that their lack of accidents are proof of their driving ability.
Indeed, I also wonder how they remember which one they are when they wake up in the morning, or where they live when they leave the house.
What makes me most angry watching these videos is not the person driving like a fool. But the stupid members of public that stick up for the people who are putting them in danger 😂. “Maybe they’re late for school” ok well maybe they should get up earlier lol.
Agree, driving the wrong side of a keep left risks someone being permanently late for school.
I suspect they are biased. They are probably people who drive and don't like the idea that other drivers are punished for things they themselves, might be tempted to do.
Better to be a few moments late in this life than several years early in the next!
@@125brat .
I often take the bus to the next town to go to the market there. A couple of times the road has been closed because of a fatal accident. The last time was a young woman who was late for her dental appointment. Several years indeed.
@@grahvis that’s very true. Probably the case.
This video in the morning is just as delightful as a warm cup of a coffee
Watch while drinking warm coffee - perfection.
Yes I was thinking the same thing.
Did you buy mikey a coffee?
If the police don’t want “concerned citizens” reporting crimes, they should discourage the crimes by increasing the penalties. Not ignore the reports 😂
It's so very clear the fines need to be much bigger. Especially in London where there is more wealth and more impatient people.
The police don't set the penalties.
Whilst I personally would like to see fines increased as well, it is not large punishments that deter people. Instead it is the thought of getting caught that stops people transgressing.
Except in 90% of cases police don't decide the punishment... that's what the court is for.
Extremely poor and late observation by the white self hire van at around 0:45 approaching the pedestrian crossing. Mind you, as a pedestrian I'd be somewhat more cautious in that kind of situation and first check the other half having crossed between cars on the first half.
I love these videos.
People are so impatient these days and do such pointless maneuvers. Funny thing is as you catch them the car behind them ends up getting in front of them which shows they could of waited just a few seconds in the correct place.Nice work again catching these people.
It's usually in the big cities like London.
You're correct, Zain. They should have just waited that little bit. Well done, Mikey! 🚴 🇿🇼 🇬🇧
@@andrewnorris5415 I live in London and my pet hate is people using the wrong lane then making that last second decision to indicate or cut in your lane as they are to lazy to wait a few seconds. Can be dangerous in some cases.
@@stuartburgess2626 it's true but sadly people can't wait and think they are saving significant time. Recently I reported a driver who was driving behind me. Approached a traffic light and went in the left lane to go straight though was held up by a few cars in traffic. This guy goes in the right turn only lane, overtaking 2 cars then cutting in. Police updated me saying they are taking action on them.
I would argue that you are an activist, but in the best possible way. You're helping keep people safe, like you saw many times, wrong way drivers often nearly take other people out.
I'm not campaigning like an activist would, I'm just dealing with specific incidents of road danger. I'd suggest that's more of a citizen duty.
Yes. But it is still activism
Activists vary in their usefulness and harm or good done. Those stopping traffic to create long tailbacks are creating dangerous situations on the road. Ambulances get held up. But also - it creates a lot of late and thus even more impatient drivers who will take chances to save seconds putting lives at risk. The driver should not do that - but they do.
@@CyclingMikey you are getting involved and making a positive difference - I would say that’s the best kind of activism!
If only the online portals the MET provide could be rolled out nationwide…
Whatever you call it, you are a doing a great job Mikey - keep it up please
Tarquin will be late for school now Mikey!
When you look at the sheer level of motor traffic, and people willing to risk points on license and injuring or killing people by breaking the law, you have to ask what it'll take to get people out of cars? It would be quicker to walk.
Certainly quicker to cycle.
Shear and utter laziness my friend. That and a lot of people in this country see walking, cycling or taking public transport as something a 'peasant' would do.
@@thecraigmachine69 Which is ironic because a lot of rich and famous people, especially in london, take the tube and walk all the time. Seen many in just my one year of being in London back in 2018
the fact theyre letting drivers get away with driving on the wrong side of the road at a junction but willing to book a motorcycle for doing the same thing is a bit alarming. amount of bad drivers ive seen recently, im not surprised theres so many.
I'm no saint when I'm driving, but I've never even considered driving the wrong side of a keep left sign. What's wrong with them?? Anyway, keep up the good work!!
Good going, Mikey. I loved the effort on the moped, the van that wouldn't let the mini in and the reaction of the pedestrian. People on the street recognize your value, thank you. All the best regards to you 🙏
I thought that was The Doctors again for a second....
Youve been doing this for years at this location and still they don't learn. They get everything they deserve. Keep up the good work.
That white vans brakes are superb. He’s going to need them driving like that.
It’s like bonus content when they try to reverse 😂
I don't get it, they buy giant trucks then can't even reverse, in a straight line, for about ten metres. It's astounding.
Well that was an interesting variation Mikey. And I now recognize that corner from the different camera facing perspective. Wasn't that where a woman tried the wrong way thing there some time ago and minutes later her husband came walking back from one of the properties along there to speak to you?
Yup, same location. :)
@@CyclingMikey The different parts of this location are now all beginning to fit in my mind like pieces of a jig saw.
I, too, used to think these were two separate junctions.
Got to admire you Mikey after the run in with the Range Rover Velar . You are a good man . Thank you .
At 1:40 that's certainly a new variation on Gandalf Corner with the black cab approaching on the wrong side of the side street to turn left. I can't ever recall seeing that in any of your past Gandalf Corner videos, though we have seen the old "two wheels up on the pavement" trick to get past waiting right turners. Incidentally what action, if any, was taken against the cabbie?
Another great video Mikey! I'm in London on 12th November for a gig and I'll be taking a trip to Gandolf corner, whilst I don't think I have the balls to stop anyone, I'd like to think I might catch someone and be able to report them!
Thanks mikey for sharing
Keep safe ❤
Keep up the good work Mikey.
The lady in the black Mercedes SUV: Yet another arrogant self entitled driver that can't reverse properly.
If they aren't going to prosecute 'ignoring a keep left sign' they might as well remove them and let the carnage ensue. 🙁
Not all super heroes wear capes.
I love watching people try and reverse.
It's frustrating when no action is taken but I think it's partially due to the number of submissions each year increasing. I get the feeling the number of people at MPS going through them hasn't changed (I certainly haven't seen any new names recently in the responses). I submitted on NYE 2021- it was submission 18661 for the year for the Met. My most recent submission (19th Oct) was 21706 (estimated end of year 27k). NIPs have to go out within 14 days. That's quite an ask if the team hasn't increased but you've got almost 50% extra submissions (actually 44% predicted). The MPS need more team members in the traffic incident submissions team. It's certainly somewhat frustrating when there's a submission of someone clearly on a hand-held phone call while driving (IE more impaired than a drunk or stoned driver) and there's no action taken. Almost makes me want to put those ones on YT....
Yeah I've noticed when I started reporting bad drivers again it's taken at least a week for them to let me know when they take action on it. Normally before it would take 2-3 days
If they double the fines - that would mean they could pay the clerical staff a good wage - which would mean they would have no trouble finding them. Then they would not need to ignore cases that could obviously be prosecuted.
That actually is, imho, a very fair assumption.
I would have thought that the MPs and councils would have liked the extra fines and income :P
@@zaink7037dp you i mean to say if there were more protests drug offences would be overlooked 😁
I love watching your videos 😊💜
Good to see you again. Amazing job you do
Every town and city should have a Cycling Mikey 🤘✌️
Thanks for your service towards correct driving ❤
Loving the new location. Keep stacking em up Mikey.
My fave mikey vids are the ones at Gnadalf corner
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST LOL. WELL DONE MIKEY.
This is why I loathe driving in the city. Tail gaters, mopeds & motorbikes not to mention impatient drivers. Vans and black cabs are the worst.
Some people are scared to If more people rode mopeds, scooters and motorbikes for their commute to work, there would be fewer cars on the road.
And yes, a pushbike would be better, but not on a 120 mile a day commute.
I think it would be quite good if someone followed you around with Go Pro and reported you when you start cycling on the wrong side of the road trying to report someone
Who is sad? You're sad. You're crying salty tears because bad driving is being caught and punished. You're salty because you identify with criminal drivers.
Most of all I'm happy that your reaction shows how much traction this idea of good citizens videoing and reporting road crime has gotten in your head.
Tens of thousands of cyclists run video cameras and will report bad driving around them. From now on you'll remember this conversation every time you see cyclists on the road, and you'll think about some of us filming you. Some of our cameras are very easy to see, like GoPros, and some are nearly impossible to spot. Have fun looking for cyclists' cameras on the road.
I'm not even in the top ten most prolific reporters in London.
I suggest you drive properly around us all. Feel paranoid. Google your own number plates. Regularly.
Traffic is so bad. London, don't miss it.
We are in awe of you Mikey. Stay lucky
When will people learn?
Nothing beats Mikey and Gandalf Corner.
The man needs a statue...
As the police have said they are issuing NIPs don't they also usually say to keep footage off social media untill the case is closed?
Keep up the good work.
What’s an NIP?
From the description, this video got recorded at 14. June 2021. So my guess: they are all closed bow.

Nice work Mikey! I know that road well. Lots of people using phones at that location. I think MPS know that postcode quite well......
Did you report the taxi?
I’d kill to save a few second rather than getting outta bed a few minutes earlier. That mentality has to stop. If you in that much of a hurry take your bike. It will reduce congestion and you’ll get that quicker.
Never passed the police entrance exam ,so waists his day grassing up motorists.
You’re right, I never applied. I don’t think I could handle being a copper. I already have a job I love.
Mikey, if you see a taxi going the wrong side of the islands do you also report them to TfL. I hope you do.
I can sense a new series, Mikey travelling around to subscriber recommended locations. You never know where he will pop up next!
In my personal experience the police aren't interested in prosecuting guilty people even when there is daming proof but instead prefer to waste tax payers money on pursuing innocent people. But we'll done to you Mikey we admire what you do.
My ‘Mikey’ moment was at Southport where I captured a bloke returning to his motorbike, which was parked on the zigzags of a crossing. After staggering about he got on it and rode immediately through a red light…all captured. Took me 30 mins to fill in the forms, shorten the footage, secure the SD card……………no reply from Merseyside Police.
Love your work keeping people safe by stopping these drivers.
Full time job this is Mikey!!! Stay safe
What an absolute monster. This video is clearly nothing but a foreshadowing of his targets, who would face a horrible end. He was merely sick in the head and unable to find help, if only the MI6 had enough budget to look into this.
Met should give you a ticket book at this point XD
Did the late braking van driver at the zebra crossing do anything illegal - that looked pretty damn dangerous!?
liking the new spot, Mikey, lots going on there!
No, they stopped to let the pedestrian cross, nothing illegal about harsh braking…
I think crossing a very, very busy crossing at maximum speed can be qualified as reckless driving.
Yup - It fell below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver and hence was a section 3ZA(2) offense of the RTA 1988.
I’m surprised on these videos how polite people are to let the bad drivers back into the queue in front of them.
The power of the point! 😂 Self entitled drivers are an issue, they don't care about anyone else.
Awesome video
They should make a central reservation all the way down this road, its ridiculously dangerous.
Protestor, activist or vigilate?, pretty sure you fulfil all defintions of those words, haha not complaining though
Shit!!! why didn’t you say anything about the van nearly taking out the lady on the crossing😳
Is that a brooks flyer saddle you've got on there? NIce.
I’d be interested in how many uber drivers you catch vs cabbies
I think far more cabbies, proportionally. My sample isn't statistically significant, though.
My favourite parts of these videos is their indignation. They're always like "I'm just carrying out a dangerous and illegal manoeuvre, why are you complying?"
That woman on the crossing was almost knocked down.
It was only a matter of time before Wayne Couzens' former employer stopped helping you. London needs a new police force that works to uphold the law and protect the people.
For all the faults of the Met, they're mostly doing a very good job on my traffic offence reports. Not perfect, but mostly OK. I've had many many successful convictions since this video was recorded.
@@CyclingMikey I'm glad. I support nonviolent protest against oil. I wouldn't call climate protesters vigilantes any more than I would call you one.
Keep up the good job a(pond be safe
Gandalf ones are the best videos
Thanks for helping to keep society civil. The criminal and deviant behaviour we saw here from these two women with kids in the passenger seats is disgusting and should be prosecuted.
Every time the driver just has this "what're you doing?" Attitude and its like... You're driving on the wrong side of the road, you're gonna cause a accident and you get all pissy about it? I worry woth how kany bad drivers got a licence
I’m glad I don’t drive in London anymore..
I think that Mikey is going to need some help now that he has two corners at Gandalf to monitor. It would very interesting if the Insulate Britain protestors turned up one day to help out.
I doubt it. They do not care about road safety. Creating long tailbacks - only leads to more impatient drivers - who will take more risks. Someone will get killed because of their protests, perhaps already has. There are better ways to protest for sure.
fear not,the cloning process has begun...
Why TfL doesn't put a camera there, is a mystery.
Why don’t you report for overtaking in the controlled area?
keep up the good work mikey
The powers that be if they really wanted to could reconfigure this junction and prevent these situations, but why should they ...its a cash cow!! So the balance between road safety and money...money seems to be the winner.
You say your not a protestor, activist or vigilante, but you clearly are watching your videos in every regard! haha
..and not saying anything wrong with that either by the way :D
playing police man again 🤣
New Gandalf corner is very nice, although, the Met probably can’t be bothered because upkeeping the law is just too hard these days.
Why dont the council install a camera and sign stating a £100 fine. It will deter motorist from breaking the law
Sketchy moment on the crossing there
Nearly caught an rta with that transit flying to the crossing
Good work Mikey.
Seams like a ruff intersection!!! Why don't they put traffic lights there???🤔🤔🤔
Transit Van lol. How on Earth did he stop that van, carbon brake upgrade? That thing stopped like it was an F1 car in the pits.
How come the MET didn't update you on the black cab? I have a feeling your letting them get away with things.
I don’t understand why the council don’t just fit cameras around this junction to catch all these idiots that think they have priority over other road users. It should not be down to you to point it out. I do think you should think about your safety though and not step out at the last minute but point it out straight away so they don’t have the opportunity to cut around.
Please Cycling Mikey, come to Lincoln
Nothing stopping you from doing the same.
Nice work, Mikey. 👍
Disappointed in the MPS. But at least you're highlighting these motorists' behaviour for future reference. If (when) they're later involved in a collision whilst pulling the same stunt, it'll make the prosecution's job a whole lot easier.
It would not be admissible as evidence as it would not relate the particular offense being prosecuted.
@@ditch3827 it would be admissible for sentencing though.
@@mintywebb Not really, sentencing is based on previous convictions, and the facts of the offence. In this case a magistrate is extremely limited in terms of sentencing powers. Most people don't know that magistrates are actually volunteers, and are not paid, a lot of them are school teachers and do the role in their time off. They are given legal advice when they hear cases however. They cannot sentence anyone to prison for more than 12 months (6 months per offence maximum, maximum of 12 months no matter how many offences), they also cannot give a fine exceeding I believe level 3 on the scale which I think is around £5,000.
On another note - it's worth noting that, contrary to what most people believe, you can actually go on trial in the magistrates court , the only real difference between that and Crown court is that there is no jury. (many people think trials only take place at Crown Court).
Both those women would have been well on their way if they were patient for literally a few more seconds lol
It is a bit vigilante! ...I like the way u wave ur arm then Big Mercedes SUV complies. like magic ✨
Driving madness.
you just cant believe people drive like this what are they thinking
did they get there driving licenses out of crisp packets
Looks like none of them drivers or the rider had a coffee yet either, wonder if the white van hurtling towards the crossing was looking at you Mikey, lucky he stopped in time and was not carrying a load of fresh eggs.
The indignation of the scofflaws should not affect the judicial outcome.
What happened to the taxi and also what made you cross the road to get the blue mini. How did you know it was going to happen?
I think the reason the MET became less inclined to prosecute is that it would involve themselves and the courts doing some work.
If the Met are no longer prosecuting the wrong side drivers, that is a very bad development. This is a clear breach of the law for which there is no excuse.
Do you ever turn any cyclists over?
